So I'm going to dissect your reply since you clearly have the wrong understanding of the things you mentioned. Firstly, if you're doing something good, as you mentioned giving Zamzam water and prayer facilities, you cannot justify your bad actions by a good action. (And further down, you'll see there is no doubt about this action of "bring your own"). If you are going to connect anything to the deen then you have to have evidence for this (daleel). You can't make up "our beautiful religion" as you please. Shopping in Morrisons/Lidl etc and anywhere else for that matter, that sells alcohol does not mean we can't shop there! Where is your evidence from the Quran and Sunnah? Again making up things as you go along. Maybe you should research Al-Bukhari, Book of Partnerships (Kitab Al-Sharikah). Thank you, but I was peaceful and patient in my review, they were a few words but your attitude shows that people in this world are trigger happy and ready to be offended. Why do you think I didn't reach out to you? It's simply because of this kind of reaction, where people can't accept being told that they're wrong. I've been going for 30 years, on and off. I've never had a bad meal or poor service there. It's a family-run business with a customer-first ethos. A Birmingham institution. Treat yourself if you've never been before.

Very nice customer service super polite and accommodating, unfortunately food was a disappointment. Butter chicken was very basic, the chicken tasted not fresh, lamb chops very mediocre, For the service and location it has good potential, lots of work needed in the kitchen imo

A Lovely place with friendly staff & very good service. Starter was very tasty - kashmiri fish (cod) which forgot to take photo off., definitely recommend. The food didn’t disappoint, as even took an extra old traditional keema naan to take home 👌🏻for next day. Good portions sizes which we could not finish so you won’t go home hungry! Don’t serve alcohol so able to bring your own! No on site parking but easily parked near by on side road.

Lovely friendly restaurant with delicious food

So surprised at their amazing service. The food is amazing, it’s served so nicely and they gave us so much complementarily for us to break our fast with during Ramadan: nicely bottled zamzam water, dates with dry fruit and a plate of fruits. Food is definitely worth the price, everything was so so good from the mocktails to the specialities (their baltiz + naan combos are amazing). The kashmiri pizza was also very very good. Thank you!

Disappointing visit to a very average place. It was not expensive, but it was not good value. The poppadoms were good and fresh, but most of the other dishes had been cooked in advance and reheated. We had a chicken dish that was so salty we could not eat it, the other main course of lamb chops was old and tough The decoration was nice and fresh, unlike the food

Had a lovely meal at the Royal Watan. Our server Usman was very attentive and it was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday evening. Always a good sign.

IF I COULD LEAVE 10 stars I would .this place is a hidden Gem. From the decorative styling, the ambiance, the hospitality, and most all the food, being not only authentic, but completely freshly made, I really had a fantastic evening with my brothers , the atmosphere was very vibrant and cosy. The service was impeccable, really want to say thank you guys. We shall be returning.

Went here yesterday, we where welcomed by staff at the door. Customer service was very good👍 The food itself was worth it, the mix grill was tasty and well cooked. We went there as a famliy on 4th January 2024. And overall a great place, will definitely be going back and highly recommended to others. Especially those who are looking for gluten free options, this is the best place for it.

My child has coeliac, and this place caters to gluten and vegans. On top of that, the food was awesome, and the service was excellent. We will see you again very soon. A☆☆☆☆☆ Visited again and top-notch 👌 great service once again and good food.

Annual meal with a large group of friends on 05th December @ Royal Watan Kashmiri Restaurant. Lovely food & exceptional customer service. The staff were very welcoming and made sure every attendee was looked after. The quality of the food was outstanding and very kind with their portions. Will be visiting again and highly recommended. We are a group of friends who get together for an annual meal. This has been taking place for 5 years. 19 of us attended the meal at Royal Watan Kashmiri restaurant on 1st December 2023. The food was great and service was excellent. Really enjoyable evening

Although I have passed this venue on numerous occasions over the past decade, I had never ventured inside before. So, I decided to check it out Thursday 23 November 2023. I was actually the first customer that evening and it was a pleasant surprise to be treated with a warm greeting and friendly, helpful staff. The condiments provided as I waited for my main meal were excellent and the popadoms crisp, tasty and light. The main meal came with succulent, tenderly prepared lamb chops in a delightfully frgrant and spicy sauce. The chilly factor was hot - just the way I like it - but it was not overpowering and just right for me! The accompanying mushroom fried rice was terrific too. The Strawberry milkshake was very rich and tasty - though I thought the cream on topw was a little bit over the top and too "girly" for my masculine persona! Nevertheless, the over all experience was a positive one and I would certainly recommend this venue for authentic Kashmiri Cuisine of the highest standard. The Kulfi icecream was excellent too. I look forward to paying a visit again real soon. Keep up the good work. You are certainly a gem in the Birmingham Restaurant scene!

Delivery and food service was both great. Would recommend the lamb dhansak and the peshwari naan. As others have noted, fantastic atmosphere on a wet and windy Tuesday.

Thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the Royal Wutan. Food was excellent in particular the Hariyali Chooza was showed hints of all aspects of taste. The slightly sweet coupled with the creamy spicy taste was a delight to my tongue. Would highly recommend a visit to this fine establishment.

We come to the Royal Watan if we are in Birmingham for a gig or a show. The service is friendly and attentive without being over the top. The food choice is always interesting and tastes fresh and delicious. It is great that we can now come as a family and know we will have a fabulous meal in lovely surroundings.

Had my brothers birthday meal here. The food, atmosphere and service was just 10/10. A big thanks to the manager and waiters, their hospitality was amazing, felt extremely comfortable and welcome. We ordered the mix grills- the meat was fresh and very nicely spiced. We also ordered the lamb tava and chicken karahi which was very tasty. Also a must try is the lassi ka saag which is new on the menu. The food matched that of authentic homemade south asian dishes! After a long while I have been to a restaurant and throughly enjoyed a meal. It’s a must go for anyone in Birmingham!!!

Every few months a group of friends and travel to Birmingham for various reasons, and when we do we always mount a trip to Royal Watan. Initially drawn in by promises of giant naans we discovered a variety of delicious curries and delightful staff. My only warning is that one should not be drawn in by hubris in belief one can eat a large naan. On our first adventure we foolishly cried "a lamb Rogan Josh, a large naan an pilau rice." Even those ordering a large naan between two were rapidly overcome by delicious bread. A royal watan large naan is a meal for the whole family and even a regular may prove more than sufficient with a curry and rice for those of more delicate constitution.

Tried this place for the first time in August 2023. Food, service, hygiene is all very good. The dishes are a bit small but taste very nice. Tried chicken Karahi, lamb Karahi and dhaal. Good service. Suitable for families and children. Great service and hospitality from Imran.

Came for a late night meal with my partner. Despite it being towards the later time we were well looked after. Food did not lack in any way. Enjoyed the authentic selection on the menu, the newly revamped decor and the mojito was spot on too. Thankyou Royal Watan for a lovely night out.

Did some research as we don't have any Balti Houses where we live. Went to Shebabs last year so disappointed. Looked up the Royal Watan and read all he reviews. We were not disappointed. The food wad excellent , couldn't fault a thing. Well worth the ztrain and bus journey. Definitely going back.

I went here with some family, and ordered poppadoms, the chutney tray, 4 curries, boiled rice, pilau and 2 naans. The atmosphere was amazing and so were the staff, they were welcoming and friendly! The food was pretty good, and the price wasn’t too bad either. The only reason I’ve given it a 4 and not a 5 is simply due to the 35 minute wait time to receive the food (though we were told it’ll be a half an hour wait and were happy with waiting) and the boiled rice and pilau rice portion were smaller than expected as the amount of curry given was enough for two servings. Would definitely go again!

We’ve been using royal watan for a good year now and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Imran and his team are absolutely amazing and the food is to die for!! Even after a lockdown the food standard hasn’t dropped so glad to back.

Another lockdown which meant staying in and ordering in and I instantly knew where I wanted my birthday meal from. I placed the order via uber eats which was nice and easy food arrived quickly pipping hot and delivered very covid friendly. Imran who delivered my order placed the food in my porch with gloves and mask on and called me to make me aware. I was not disappointed the food was beyond my expectations all the right spices an absolute delightful explosion in my mouth with all the flavours. Myself and my partner ordered a veg curry and lamb curry which by far was the best we have had. Somosas for starters generous size with great flavour. My daughter didn't fancy curry so ordered her a chicken burger which again great flavour and very fresh.Royal Watan thank you for making our lockdown birthday meal so amazing especially Imran. I will look forward to coming back in again.

Amazing beautiful friendliest service I’ve ever received in Birmingham, Also dining and ordering from this fine restaurant . I travel 2/3 times a week just for a order and from where I come and return is 24 miles so the taste is in the pudding. Please come and experience a truly fresh authentic Asian paradise food. We have been going to Royal Watan's for the past 30+ years and have never been disappointed. They host our family very graciously as the family run business is extremely hospitable to all their guests as it's always very clear.Everyone gets the most personable service as the staff is extremely attentive and has been consistently amicable each visit we have visited. The change in different generations of the restaurant have always retained their family values that reflect on the performance and services.The chef has always been mindful of our dietary requirements, and the recipes always been authentic and fresh. They update the menus regularly, keeping in line and current with the customer needs, but with a little surprise to ensure all innovative recipes are available if one prefers a change.Their Covid related attention has been nothing less than perfect. It leaves one's visit to be reassured to be safe and meeting government guidelines.Can't wait until our next visit!

Just had to get to the Watan for a fix of Birmingham’s best balti, was really pleased to be offered to try some of their upcoming additions to the menu and I’m bloody excited after trying them. We tried a Kashmiri fish n chips and a lamb shank dish (pictures are only tester size) and my god they were good. Service and COVID-19 safety is as good as it gets and the quality and quantity of the food is just perfect. All I can recommend is you get to the Royal and try the dishes for yourself soon.

Had a lovely time at this place, We actually went to a wedding here, due to the whole Covid situation with only 15 people at a time in any restaurant the wedding went so well and all the guest felt very comfortable with the big help of the staff. Not often I enjoy an South Asian restaurant , but the food here was excellent. Staff were also exceptional, well trained, right amount of attentiveness. The Kashmiri fish was top drawer, as were the seekh kebabs . The tava lamb had just right amount and blends of spices not to overpower the palate.I haven’t written a review in a long time but the experience was so good , I am forced to.Definitely will return when next in town.

Excellent service and great food. I came with my friend and we were really impressed by the waiter we had, young man can’t remember his name. He was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was really yummy and it was very reasonably priced. Loved the hanging naan!

We booked to eat here after dropping our son at Birmingham University and am pleased to say this restaurant deserves its 5 stars. The service was friendly and the food was excellent. All Covid precautions were in place and it felt very safe. We started with onion bhaji and tandoori fish, which had great flavour. This was followed by Balti Chicken tikka and Balti Chicken ‘desi style’ with extra peas. The garlic & coriander naan and peshwari honey naan (regular size!) were also fabulous and together with a side of fragrant pilau rice made for an excellent meal and we look forward to returning here - oh and visiting our son too!

We visited here last night after dropping our daughter at Birmingham University and what a treat it was. Very friendly service and fabulous food. We shared the mixed grill to start. It was a huge portion but outstanding. We ate too much so didn’t do justice to our mains but they were equally delicious. I had the grandma’s lamb dish and my husband had the chicken tikka jalfrezi balti and we shared a garlic and cheese naan. It was all wonderful. I wish we lived nearer as I’d go again tonight and have the same. We’ll be back

Visited this on the way back from Cotswolds following TripAdvisor reviews.. ordered the lasawalla ghosht ( lamb chop curry) was delicious.. not to spicy . Food came after 25 minutes wait with the drinks coming a minute before .. was hoping for drinks to come out first . Service was rather slow with chutney tray and samosa starters coming out with main meal . ( starters were mediocre samosas) Wasn’t busy at all so was expecting food to come out a bit earlier but not so upset as it is freshly made . However when it came to their nans was very disappointed.. they were like biscuits ! Told the person taking our order who did offer to bring out fresh ones but as we were pressed for time we decided to finish what he had already . Overall wasn’t as great as the reviews to be honest . Average at best . Just the curry was nice .

Had meat samosas, lamb malayan, lassawalla gosht (lamb on bone), honey peshwari naan, garlic rice. Not the fastest at taking orders/food coming out but the curries and naan were delicious, staff were lovely, nice environment, so I would say we had a very good experience and would recommend this place so thanks. We had the Eat out to help out discount so spent £15 for 2.

7 years ago, I was driving through Pershore Road and noticed the restaurant when passing. On a whim, I quickly cancelled my plans for the day to investigate and discovered that my findings were quite surprising.It had been many years since I tasted authentic Pakistani food which was usually made by both my mother and grandmother. The restaurant offered pleasant trips down memory lane and I was instantly hooked. I started visiting a few times a month with both family and friends and recently booked my birthday party at the start of the current year. All staff accommodated accordingly with excellent service. The menu contained plenty to choose from, including many favourites and side options. I always favoured the balti's and chicken curry dishes over all else as a preference. Though simple, butter chicken never fails to satisfy.The staff are happy to provide recommendations if required, should this be someone's first time coming. They are friendly and polite from the onset and throughout. I've grown to know many of them over the years and because of this, the atmosphere seems even more pleasant. Lighting is adequate and not blinding. There are various seating placements to accommodate groups of individuals as well. The venue can provide service for approximately 40+ individuals with the current seating arrangements. There is also wooden swing which can hold two individuals by the front counter which is ideal for photos. It's one of my favourite things about the place itself. Including myself, everyone I've ever introduced the restaurant to has experienced a good time whilst there and are eager to return. I'm always happy to bring newcomers every now and then too. It's like my second home almost!

Korma was a bit odd, perhaps a bit short on coconut? Was pretty tasty though. Service is always amazing!

Food was delivered nice and hot all packaged brilliantly. My favourite king prawn curry was cooked to perfection with all the right spices! Royal Watan always delivers to such a high standard. We also tried a white chocolate smarties waffle originally just for my daughter but was so nice and fluffy myself and my partner enjoyed it too!!! Thank you Royal Watan always left satisfied.

I cannot thank Imran and staff enough for making our first meal out from lockdown a safe and enjoyable experience. They have gone above and beyond to keep everyone safe. Very, very clean & hygienic. Hand sanitizers that are worked by your feet!!! This stops any contamination of your hands. Just brilliant!!! Tables have screens and are 2m apart so as not to get to close to others who are eating. All staff have visors and regularly change gloves they wear. This has to be a must for anyone wanting their curry fix after lockdown! You will not be disappointed food is absolutely amazing too! Service second to none and such a clean environment to eat in! We absolutely loved it!!! Thank you guys

Royal Watan has amazing service and has become our go-to restaurant over the past two years. We are always warmly greeted by staff and well-taken care of in the restaurant. The food is always outstanding and the naan is absolutely amazing (an massive)! You will definitely get your money's worth and more with the tasty food, generous portion sizes, and superb staff.
