Royal Tandoori Indian Restaurant & Takeaway in Corby

I took my family for a valentine evening meal, the staff did not disappoint us. From entering the restaurant we were remembered, recognised and warmly welcomed. I thoroughly enjoyed this evening and love the staff. I wont hesitate to return soon.

Food was very bland overall, lacked flavour and spice. The meat wasn’t fresh , especially the dry chewy lamb. Very disappointed.

Great service, food top quality, generous servings. Definitely recommend but can see it might be different if busy as very small inside. However if quiet it's better than any larger place

Lovely staff very helpful and accommodating, we had a 40th birthday meal there and the staff helped with everything we needed the food is fresh and beautiful and lovely atmosphere.

Visited the Royal Tandoori with my family, lovely location, superb staff and amazing food with something to suit everyone, food portions were great. The chef did amazing, the rice was lovely and nan was super soft the currys were mouth watering and at great prices, very high level of table service and a nice calm atmosphere 😀 we had a Wonderful evening and the children loved the tremendous food. I thoroughly recommend a visit. Thank you to the young lad (waiter) and Rocky for the amazing table service. Will definitely be coming back.

“Amazing “ We had a takeaway delivered last night, was on time and piping hot, we ordered 4 main courses and each dish had its own distinctive flavours, had the House special as a takeaway ‘Mirpuri Chicken’ it was just as good when you dine in. Dessert’s had the cookie dough that they do, went down as a treat, and pineapple fritters. Thanks guys keep it up .

Do not waste your time ordering from them any more, stupidly long waits after the estimated delivery time. Today order placed at 17:40 for 19:15 delivery repeatedly attempted to ring to check on delivery at 19:45 but they turned their phones off. Had to drive to the restaurant at 20:00 to demand a refund and I got them to check our food hadn’t even been cooked! Now we have to wait 21 days for the refund. Every time we’ve ordered with them this year there is always issues with either delivery or food missing, such a shame they used to be good but now they don’t seem to care about what they are doing. Customer of many years will not return, apparently the manager will call me to rectify but wouldn’t actually talk to me while I was in the restaurant!

Two of us stopped for a meal after seeing a film at the Savoy. It was a Tuesday and very quiet. The hosts were lovely - extremely friendly and attentive, even letting us take away dishes of their home made yoghurt and red onion pickles - they were so good! The food was fantastic especially the dopiaza and the sag paneer which was deliciously creamy. The Bombay potato was a little bland and could use some extra spice, maybe more onions or tomato. Other than that, a perfect dinner at a good price.

Went as award winning restaurant, food was presented much differently, however was expecting more flavour. Returning ? No

We always go to different restaurants never known any restaurant in Manchester that wont give you tap water it's my first time here. Absolutely ridiculous you cant order tap water at this Royal Tandoori. Were from Liverpool 1st time coming to this area today saw this tandoori place. Bottled water for £2.50 375ml as a principle wont pay for that Thank god were not from this area...place is ok Corby... sad part you have to pay for water. The English waitress was lovely shes local. Thankfully the English waitress was very polite/mannered and guy at last gave a glass. She redeemed the whole experience. Food wasn't great was normal but will you go back ? BIG NO I wont.

You must go” 20/3/23 Spent an excellent evening at the Royal Tandoori Indian restaurant In Corby. There is nothing I can fault about the place. First class service. Excellent prices. The food was fantastic. What a lovely find, believe all the hundreds of positive reviews. The place was beautifully decorated, nice atmosphere, food was lovely. The service really was exceptional. All the staff we encountered were so polite and helpful it really made the experience feel special. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of food and service. Definitely one of my favourite places to eat. Can’t recommend this place highly enough & will certainly be returning. Thank you. Aysha Hasan

Ordered a takeaway via their website. Ordered confirmed and tracking available online to track the confirmation, preparation and delivery. Stated delivery at 6.17pm and counted down to the driver arriving at my property. Once the count down reached zero we had no food and the website stuck. Then at 18.50 it stated order delivered and thanks for your order. No food - I called and they immediately confirmed my address and put me on hold. Came back and told me it hadn't even been cooked let alone sent. At least another 25 minutes- at this point pointless as my daughter has to go to bed! Happy mothers day to me..... thanks alot. Won't be dining here again - didn't even care that they had let me down.

Nearly 20 minutes late and cold !

I got my order last week on Saturday and the chips were very cold. The chicken tikka masala wasn’t very nice.

The food served here is excellent, and the service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant was not busy and could probably do with more customers. It would be a shame to lose it.

Absolutely amazing food We had the mix platter for 2 to start .so fresh and tasty. For the mains we had lamb madras and chicken tikka madras mushroom rice and keema rice with a keema naan. By far the best Indian meal we've ever had . Better still they only sell zero alcohol drinks . Zero alcohol cobra is lovely. Also no rowdy loud drunk people . Perfect restaurant for a family

Fantastic food as always. Went to celebrate my husband's birthday tonight. All the food was lovely and hot. Portions were very generous and service was very friendly as always. ( yes we have been a few times) !!!. Michelle & Jason Brooks

Prices are just insane now. I understand prices have gone up but a curry, rice and bread about £30 then drinks about a fiver for a soft drink. Can see why it's empty on a Friday night. No alcohol either. Sad as this was the best curry house in Northants by a very long way, now its a sad shadow of what it used to be

If your Asian allow this place go Birmingham or Leicester this ain't for us

These people are sending vouchers in post using fake stamps. We then got a message from the post office stating that we had to pay £2.50 for postage underpayment WHY WOULD ROYAL TANDOORI THINK THAT WAS GOOD MARKETING,,,,,,, FURIOUS

This was the first time we have used this takeaway. Must say best one we have had in such a long time. Not to long to wait very tasty . I heated it up a bit more as not hot enough but that was not a problem I just like it piping hot. We shall use again very good service Thankyou.

I was very impressed with the menu range, customer service, and most importantly the food quality at the Royal Tandoori. The butter chicken was a little sweet for my pallet - however the rest of our meals (table of 4) including starters we’re sensational, and I would recommend if in Corby.

Wow. The best Indian food we have had. We're not local to the area so weren't sure where the best place to eat would be but found Royal Tandoori on Google and we were not disappointed. The staff were lovely and the food delicious.

Got a chicken dhansak, special rice and onion bhaji. Shared between 2 portion was great and boy was the curry good. Lovely heat, sweet and sour. Wish it was our local. Just passing through in our campervan. 👍

First curry in years since leaving the UK, really enjoyed it, wish I could have taken some on the plane back for later. Will go again if I return.

The best curry I've had in ages.

Visited here for the first time in about 3 years. I remember this restaurant as a busy place where you had to book to get in, not last night just a few people in maybe because it was a Sunday or maybe because they don't serve alcohol any more,must be under new management. The changes did not effect our visit however, and we found the service and the food superb. The flavour of the food amazing and the young lad serving was very polite and always on hand to help. Totally restored my faith in this restaurant as in the past had a few hit and miss food. We will definitely visit here again and based on our experience would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Bad quality food - Abysmal Service. I would leave 0 stars if there was an option to do so. Firstly - I was recommended to this Indian restaurant and was convinced with the good reviews I had heard from other people as well as what I had read online, and albeit this restaurant was more expensive than other competitors locally, I assumed that this would be reflected in the quality of food and service... however this wasn't the case in my experience. Cold, late - and poor quality. - The 'Nation's Favourite' Chicken Tikka Masala was cold and watery. -The batter on the Chicken Pakora in the starter was congealed and greasy. - The mixed starter itself was overcooked but somehow also cold? - The rice was cold. - The Chips were dark brown (Overcooked) however cold. I understand that chips aren't a staple of Indian cuisine, however probably a lot easier to cook than many of the other dishes on the menu. This was a Saturday night - so I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt to this company as they were busy - however sadly myself and my partner were unhappy with the quality of the food so I called to express our concerns. The person who answered the phone offered us the following: - A re-do of the order. This was respectfully declined due to us already being hungry and not wanting to wait any longer. - Discount on the next meal. This was not taken up - purely as why would we want a repeat of what had just happened? - A phone call from the Manager to discuss a refund. This was the option taken - however the manager failed to contact me. At this point the food was packed back up - and put in the fridge as I awaited a phone call. *From this point I had to call the restaurant 4 times in order to speak to the manager.* On the third phone call through to the restaurant I was told by a member of staff that I did not require to time-stamp the food - I was told directly to dispose of the food as there was no need for it to be looked and the manager would contact me about receiving a refund. The staff member also mentioned to me, that food awaiting delivery can be sat there ready for a long time awaiting a collection from a delivery driver - so safe to assume that I am not likely the only person that this has happened to. I had to call AGAIN and finally got through to the manager who said there will be a full refund going in to my account although this could take 3-5 working days depending on my bank. There was a bank holiday so I left it at that, but the aforementioned time period expired so I called yet again. (2 weeks after the initial order and phonecall at this point.) I was told that this should have gone through - although if it hadn't happened it would need investigation from the Manager's side and if it did not happen there would be a transfer of the amount in to my bank account. Alas, the refund did not appear - and I handed over the manager my bank details for him to make the transfer. A Partial refund was given of which I contested immediately as this was not what had been agreed. The managers words via text message were: 'As far as im aware food was not returned, hence full refund was never promised' 'I was told food was cold on delivery. The matter is now closed' 'Offered partial refund as a goodwill gesture, like we said matter resolved and closed' To anyone wishing to use this company, they are at risk of their food being delivered late and cold due to a lack of drivers - and if they have any dealings with said manager I wish them well, as the response to my issue was far below sub-par. Either that, or avoid this restaurant altogether. There are much better and cheaper places in town. *** I would also like to add that I considered the STAFF to be helpful - albeit the manager's service was woeful.

Had a lovely Meal Delivered from here tonight . I must admit it's very rare we order an Indian meal as our choice is usually a Chinese meal . We will definitely order from here again tho as it was really lovely .

Didn't plan on a Valentine's day meal, but the restaurant made it special, food was amazing, staff were really helpful

Just got back from a wonderful Valentines meal, such delicious food, great service and loved the non alcoholic drinks element, will be definitely chasing up getting some of the pink gin. Thank you Rocky and the rest of the team you made our night a splendid one.

best Indian in corby by far, caters for both vegetarian and meat eaters, have never had a bad experience with this place, staff are all friendly and polite, whether its sit in, takeaway or delivery have never had a complaint, the food is the best, has been for years. There's nothing these guys can't do, want it spicier or milder not a problem

It's a friendly restaurant serving Indian food which was excellent. I thought £ 13 for a basket of poppadoms a little expensive as was £ 3 for containers to take away our food. The staff were friendly and helpful and attentive towards us. We would go again but only for main meal, or takeaway.

Great place and great food but sadly they've stopped selling alcohol and I'm assuming that's why only three tables occupied on a Friday night.

What can I say? Another lovely meal at Royal Tandoori. We always get excellent service, food etc. Customer service is epic. Does not bother me about it being alcohol free, great food better than alcohol

Absolutely brilliant food, we had a table for 10 tonight and had great service and literally 10/10 experience. The chef was brilliant, even came out to speak to us at the end and ensured we were fully satisfied.

Food from this established is the best in the area ( my opinion)I was dissapointed with my meal the previous week, too much lime in my Lamb Madras. However, my Vindaloo this week was outstanding. Dissapointed the Owner has now made the establishment an alcohol free restaurant but respect their wishes..Not sure if this could be a game changer for the business but, food is excellent 👌

Went for a date night with my partner last night. The Best Indian I've ever had food was amazing! Service was beyond great. Couldnt fault the place one bit! Food is not much tested is not same as pure Indian quality food . Salty and the sos is too sweet because they making from not pure yourt. I Don't think there is good chief form India.

"Takeaway Orders Beware", told arrival within 90mins didnt get it until 2 and half hrs had passed it had gone to the wrong address! the house owner brought it to us having gone through all our food, which in Covid times was very worrying? We rang the Restaurant to be told someone will call me back regarding my complaint..I'm still waiting for their call?? The food was bland, and only ate it because we were so hungry waiting 4 it?..we thought menu was pricey we paid more than other restaurants charge,so very disappointed when the food was tasteless? No spice to food at all?

Quite with Corono situation, but pleasant guy served me. Ordered King Prawn Madras. Usually only get four prawns. Prawns had been cooked in curry with shells on. Beautiful tasty big fresh King prawns never had a King prawn madras cooked that way Before! Onion Bahjee where good. Place is a restaurant to obviously no show. Set in a row of not best looking grubby shops, but looks are deceptive. Would highly recommend.

What a wonderful valentines evening. Service really friendly, food absolutely delicious, fresh and really beautifully served. The portions were massive. Restaurant and toilets kept clean and tidy. Without hesitation 5 out of 5

If you are considering ordering a takeaway to be delivered on a Friday or Saturday, think again unless you are prepared to wait over 2 hours for it. Staff will be so unhelpful and just lie to you.
