Royal Massala Tandoori Takeaway in Aberdeen City

Ordered a Margherita pizza from the Deliveroo app under the name “Freaking Good Pizza” (was unaware that the takeaway actually called Royal Masala Tandoori). Pizza was described as being topped with fresh basil and fresh mozzarella, accompanied with a picture which also showed this to be the case. When it arrived, the pizza bore no resemblance whatsoever to the one I thought I had ordered, to the point where I genuinely believed I had been given the wrong meal. No fresh basil or mozzarella, crust was thick and unpleasantly doughy and the base was almost flavourless. I was also given a portion of chips, which I didn’t order. Literally false advertising, do not recommend.

This review would be a 0 Star if I could! Beware of false reviews on Just away and Google, delivery was over 30 minutes late and the food was not just bland, but the chicken was dry and had a bad almost pungent flavour. The Naan Bread was also disgusting and easily the worst naan bread I have ever had! There are so many better takeaways - Save your money and go elsewhere!

Just paid the best part if 30 pound for one of the most disgusting Indian takeaways I've ever had. Chips were cold and soggy and the whole meal was just seriously disgusting. The chicken pakora had about 10% chicken the rest was a powdery batter. Utterly revolting. So annoyed I have just been rinsed if these folk

The delivery man said that he was outside but was unsure of where the address was, upon leaving the flat we found him at the bottom of the stairs smoking a cigarette with the car parked in the middle of the road. He clearly could not be bothered coming up the stairs. When confronted he admitted his fault and said he had too many deliveries to do.... absolutely unacceptable. From all my review you will see i give 5 stars, shows how rubbish the service was.

I really regret not reading the reviews before ordering. Ordered from just eat, the food that arrived was cold the curry was a Tikka Masala and it looked nothing like one, not creamy and very sweet. My naan bread was sour and the mushroom rice slightly singed, I called to see if they could rectify the order or I could get something different, was told I they would rectify it on my next order several times, told them I wouldn’t be ordering from them again so I would appreciate if they could fix it at the time, they took my number and said they’d call back, never heard a word. Went to just eat who told me there was nothing they could do. I’m £30 our of pocket and with an empty belly.

This is hands down the worst experience I have ever had with a takeaway. The food was 3 hours late. When the driver eventually got into my area, without apology, he phoned and seemed angry at me that he couldn't find my address. Eventually I had to stand outside in the rain for 15 minutes to try and direct him. He still couldn't find it so I had to meet him five minutes away. The driver was on the opposite side of the road to me and decided to perform an illegal u-turn in the middle of the road instead of driving up and around back to me. The driver then wouldn't give me my food until I pointed out my address to him. He was very intimidating. He then gave me my food and he just sat in his car watching me. I looked back and could see him just sitting in his car in the middle of the road staring at me, waiting for me to go into my house. He didn't leave until I walked in to my front door. He was a Chinese man in a suit and a fancy car. I've never felt scared ordering food before but this guy really freaked me out. The food was terrible cheap microwaved food anyway so in the end it really wasn't worth it. Don't order from this place. That guy has something wrong with him. I actually feel frightened writing this review because he knows where I live but I don't want to risk waiting to hear in the news of him doing something to a customer knowing I could have done something to prevent it. Just go elsewhere. The food is definitely not worth your safety.

Second time I've visited this takeaway and both visits have been 5 star. The guy that took our order is lovely, only waited 15 - 20 mins for our order. The food is absolutely delicious. Always hot, well cooked, and tastes amazing. Not a single fault, couldn't be happier! Definitely our new favourite!!

Amazing food! Couldn't have asked for a better curry! Had the Masala green curry with Pilau rice and it was easily one of the nicest dishes ive ever had from a takeaway.

ordered a saturday night take away. after 2 hours it still hadn't arrived. had to get just eat to chase up a refund for me , never got an apology for the terrible service while i was left hungry. if anyone was thinking of ordering from here i suggest you consider doing something more enjoyable , such as getting diagnosed with an illness or poking yourself in the eye. #royalmasalatandooritakeawayisgash #dontgohere #2hours

Kebab started off good with thin strips of donner, but then I came across a big chunk of donner meat which put me off

Chips were really greasy and some were under cooked. We ordered a quarter pound burger and a normal burger and chips. They both arrived the same size despite there being a price difference. The Indian food was really nice and came with free onion Bajhis

Best Indian takeaway in Aberdeen!

I simply wanted a lamb madras and pilau rice. I had not tried here before so thought I would give it a try. Went only a couple of minutes after it opened and had my curry in about 10 minutes. The curry itself was hot with a good quantity of lamb - very tasty. The rice however seemed to be boiled basmati rice with some fried onions on top and at £3.45 was far too expensive. Might go back because of the tasty curry.

Great food, was ready exactly for the collection time. I would order again and recommend this takeaway.

Very good, pizza was delicious but the irn-bru was lidl iron brew so not as advertised. Very nice delivery staff too!

Took an hour and a half to arrive, food was stone cold, had a call from delivery driver claiming he rang but I wasn't home saying I would have to wait for my meal as he was busy delivering elsewhere tried to call the restaurant to complain but there was no answer. When the delivery finally came had to walk out to main road to go pick it up as driver said he didn't know where flat was although he had earlier claimed to have rung my buzzer but I obviously wasn't in and told me I shouldn't order my food from just eat!

Set meal for 1 - unbelievable value for money, I would be so surprised if someone finished it to themselves. Curry from here is excellent, the korma is literally the best I've ever had. Veg pakora was also excellent. This is my favourite takeaway hands down.

I ordered a chicken tikka masala but instead received chicken tikka. Phoned to get the correct order to b told no a million times!the manager then phoned me back to say they can't change it and then went on to call me stupid for ordering the wrong thing!A total joke of a place!

South Indian Garlic Chilli was watery and tasteless. Onion Bhajis were squishy lumps of mush, almost more liquid than solid. Samosas and Naan bread were great though, small victories

Best curry takeaway, I highly recommend it. Food is always delicious and full of flavour, top quality. The other night I spent £21 and I got a free coke, 6 pakoras, 2 poppadoms and 3 dips all free with my order! My go to curry house 5☆

This is literally the best takeaway I've ever had!! We ordered the set meal for 2 and couldn't believe how good the meal was!! We had the chicken Dhansak and chicken korma for our main dishes. The starters were excellent, we had the chicken tikka starter and the vegetable pakora, both of which were extremely tasty. The tikka In particular was amazing, probably the best starter I've ever had!! The potatoes were also really great. The main dishes were really tasty and tech portion sizes were excellent. The set meal for 2 was £23.95 which was excellent value for money. We will definitely be using them again and would highly recommend them. The delivery driver was really friendly and we were given free bhajis and poppadoms. If you want a good, tasty Indian this is the place to go!!

Tried a couple of unusual dishes and they were delicious. The burnt green curry was amazing. Friendly delivery and nice extras.

Food was of good quality, although driver was stuck in traffic so took a while for it to be delivery but driver was very apologetic and give us some freebies. Food was great which is the main factor.

Food portion was very poor. Didn't get garlic sauce or chilli sauce we asked for and garlic bread was still cold in the middle and cheese was hardly melted. The delivery driver was too busy trying to hand me free food so I would give them good review on here.you need t up your game to recieve good reviews not just hand out free food. Ordered a kebab through the just eat website all went fine. Got confirmation email saying estimated time for delivery would be 45 mins(standard time)from when ordered. Call 2 hours later to find out where the food is to be told it's on its way. Again a further 40 mins later and still no sign of food.....again tried calling(several times) to cancel the order due to time frame it had taken only this time there is no answer!! Will not be ordering again. Shocking service!!

Our order of Modhu Murgh, Burnt Green Curry, Korma was filled with thick chunks of flavoursome meats. The complementary bhaji were incredible - I had been a little apprehensive as the paper bag they arrived in was very oily. I was wrong - they were delicious, crunchy and almost sweet. The thick, pillowy naan almost spoiled my meal...I couldn't stop eating it! Thank you Royal Masala - we will order from you again.

Over one and a half hour wait. Cold food and undercooked chips. The delivery driver offered free bhajis in exchange for a good review, no thank you. Would not order from here again. They clearly have only received the good reviews they have in exchange for free food.

Driver attempted to have me login to my just eat account on his phone to leave a review in exchange for free food which was immediately disappointing and explains why they have so many reviews compared to other indians in aberdeen. On opening food there was a hair clearly visible on top of one of the currys. Contacted restaurant, person there could not understand the issue. Resorted to contacting just eat for refund. Never again Royal Masala.

Disgusted with the service. They tried to deliver my order an hour early. I couldn't accept the delivery when it arrived ie that's why I ordered for a specific time. They took the food away then emailed to say they will no longer accept my order. They also refused to give me a refund for my order I didn't receive.

Friendly service and amazing food

Terrible service - accepted our order when no delivery driver was working so we waited nearly 2 hours for food after an estimated 30 minute wait and status was changed to 'delivered' before the driver even arrived at work. When we called to finally cancel after approx 2 hours as we had to leave for an appointment (which meant we wouldn't be home to receive the food) we were refused a refund despite the food not having left the restaurant. Disappointing.
