Round House Chinese Take Away in Barking and Dagenham

Very good scrimps, I go and take away wonderful food , thank you, place and smell not too good but food is excellent, not too hot and not too salt as I like

Like with many other reviewers myself and my family have been using Roundhouse for a very long time. 20+ years. Unfortunately my advice now to all friends and family has to be to keep as far away as possible. The service when ordering is absolutely fine and prices reasonable. But on multiple occasions food is over 1 hour late and ringing up gets the very polite lady saying "she is sorry and it is just around the corner". It's always around the corner when you ring up and it comes quite quickly when chased. So not sure where it gets stuck. This time however on 28th of December 2023 after a busy day where I had no lunch and just some toast for Breakfast, I ordered from Roundhouse lemon chicken / egg fried rice and noodles. It seemed a bit tough but otherwise fine. About 2 hours later I was violently ill with sick and diohria lasting throughout the night. Now a few days later my stomach is still not completely right. Of course I have no proof that it was Roundhouse food that caused it. So anyone reading this review must make up their own mind. My family also had food in the same order but they had vegetable curry instead of lemon chicken and were absolutely fine. I am absolutely gutted this was a regular treat for me and there are so few nice places to get food in Dagenham.

Large Chicken chow mein barely had any bits of chicken in it and tasted greasy and not fresh didn’t eat it definitely wouldn’t recommend it. Mini spring rolls were ok but a bit greasy too. Chips were raw. Mixed veg fried rice didn’t have much veg in it or egg. Overall quite cheap but wouldn’t recommend this place.

I’ve been using this restaurant over 20 years last night the food was absolutely terrible all went in the bin cold grease pancake roll was like it had been soaked in oil.😡

We both got food positioning from there Sweat & Sour chicken balls dish. 🤕

This is my favourite local spot for Chinese don’t be fool be the traditional old style decorations it actually reflects the traditional Authenticity of its food as well , never been disappointed my favourite is the chicken Chowmein with black bean sauce , also the prawns chowmein too. When you feel down it’s time for Chinese lol 😂 regards Jamal thanks round house.

We ordered sweet and sour shredded chicken in batter thinking it was going to be like hong kong style yet it was big and fat batter and the chicken inside was really dry and it tasted just like oil that was 3 weeks old the sauce tasted like dishsoap. the rice and noodles had no flavour the chicken was pale like the wall and dry. the lady and service was really nice but it doesnt cover up that the food was bad. we were both sick alll night and both have dirheea.

All about the Chicken Balls The best

Spent £50 on a meal for the family, tasted of old overused oil. A few dishes had the taste of being "on the turn" although we didn’t actually get food poisoning, 3 of us was sick.

Went in face to face and ordered food we Waited 45 mins tonight for the food and bare in mind it wasn't a big order. All food was cold like it had been sitting there for a while , we had to warm everything up which wasn't nice. Curry sauce was all spilt down the side won't be returning.

The only problem is once you eat from the round house you can't eat any other Chinese. They all don't even compare. Happy Friday I'm ordering now 😊

I always used this chinese years ago.Then stopped because they dont deliver.Tonight i ordered and collected it.And it was so nice.Nice crispy chips lovely special fried rice.Yummy chow mein Perfect curry sauce and chicken balls.. 100% recommend this chinese.This is the only one i will be getting it from from now on.Dont take any notice of some of these reviews.As i think they must be talking about a different chinese..Because this is only take away..Be ordering again real soon..This is not a restaurant only takeaway,,

donot eat or drink here, mouse droppings everywhere, a mouse actually ran accross the bar floor and a customer stood on it, disgusting place stay clear.

I will never use this Chinese shop again as I’ve been waiting near on two hours for my food to arrive the customer service is terrible and then hangs up on me and then when it did turn up it had some here in the food

I use this Chinese Takeaway all the time. The food is probably the best tasting of any Chinese that I've had and they are very reasonably priced. I usually have my food delivered for which they charge an extra £1. I've never had a bad meal from them!

Waited 50mins ...and food was very dry rice had no taste and sweetsour chicken had no flavour ...so not worth the wait...that's my family's opinion

Been eating chinese take away from here for around 30 years, good polite service at a cheap price. rice is not greasy, the batter is not thick, curry sauce has plenty of flavour and the spare ribs are lovely. (THIS IS A TAKEAWAY AND NOT A RESTAURANT)

These reviews don't match.... people talking about toilets and restaurant. There are know toilets as it's a take away place only. Good food takes about 45mins

OK take away one of the better ones that is also open at lunchtime and occasionally do specials in same container which I like....

A youngish looking chinese girl that was serving customers described my partners cousin as the 'fat man/boy' when my partner asked her how long her cousins food will be, disgaceful way to describe a buying customer or anyone as a matter of fact, seriously need better employees or family with some manners if that's the case, who gives better customer service. Joke. Other than that appauling comment she made the food was lovely.

I like this Chinese , it's meat content has disappeared over the year's to stop the cost rising but I can say I have never had a bad stomach from them , try not to go for anything in batter as it is thick and holds oil , I recommend the ribs and rice .

Delicious Food, an amazing restaurant; go here daily. The service is incredible! I saw the other comments. They were false as there is a pub called the Round House. And that's why they were responding about 'drunk guys'.

Seriously, i said this when I want my man order Round House instead of going out to Greenwich Tai Wan Mein. The soup and vegetables here are better than budget Chinese noodle restaurants. My current favourite is prawns with fresh tomatoes. With garlic broccoli and plain rice, I got myself an authentic Cantonese dinner.

I saw a drunk guy outside with kids that came out of a bus running around him.
