We had a group dinner for 25 people & the food was amazing … choice of starters incl peppered squid, mains venison / sea beam & fantastic chocolate brownies etc all Hot … terrific friendly staff thank you to Kim the manager & great team ! Amazing ambiance!

Lunch for 7 family and friends after shooting clay pigeons for the boys and spa at woodside for the girls. As usual enjoyed a warm welcome and a fabulous meal. The curried vegetable soup hit the spot on a cold day. Another of the party had the scotch egg. He's usually generous and offers a taste, I noted he was quiet during the starters and that he'd scraped his plate clean !! Tempora prawns were delicious. We followed up with burgers, again delicious, fish pie creamy heartening perfectly seasoned and fish and chips, absolutley scrumptious. Such generous portions be sure to wear your elasticated trousers. Only one of the party had pudding ( too full) and on Debs recommendation went for the rhubarb cheesecake..... divine!!!!! Thanks to all the staff that always make our experience brilliant.

Decided to pop in for a drink on our way home on a Sunday and after seeing the Roasts being delivered to other customers had no choice but to order one, best decision of the day. Really nice food , friendly service and the place was packed with a great atmosphere. Will definitely be going back.

A friendly welcome. Attentive, friendly, helpful and the most genuine of service. This was a great start... but... The Sunday roast was every bit as good. Delivered with flare, but with all of the pride that goes into a truly excellent home cooked meal. Great flavours, textures and seasoning.. Rounded off with seeing genuine laughter from and with the staff. All delightful!

Fantastic classic pub. Really good lesany staff, chatty and knowledgeable. . lovely location, good selectio of drinks. We were not here to eat but had some chips as a snack .. really good! Will return soon as we loved the vibe of the place, also saw there were some vegan options on the menu..!

Called in with friends for lunch. The welcome from the friendly staff was warm and welcoming as opposed to the rain and cloud outside. There was a good choice of drinks (including different varieties of non-alcoholic beers) and an equally good choice on the menu (we all settled for gammon with bubble and squeak and fried eggs, which I can certainly recommend). The portion sizes were ample and very good value for money. An excellent lunch and would recommend.

Starters, main course and desserts exceptionally good. We booked the restaurant based on tripadvisor reviews and we were not disappointed.

We had a superb meal on Saturday night as always. We both had creamy garlic mushrooms to start. This actually isn’t on the summer menus as it’s more of a winter dish but because chef knows how much we enjoy them, he makes them for us especially! I had fish pie for my main and my partner had the chicken burger, both delicious. The chocolate brownie pudding was great as well. 5* food, wonderful friendly service - what more could you ask for!?

Fantastic starter of home made tomato soup and then the best roast I have ever had at any pub ( and weve done a few 😅). Chef and the rose and crown should be proud. Delicious! Good service food was quickly brought out but fresh and seasonal.

My husband and I had a 3 course meal here for our anniversary, it was our first visit and it was amazing! The food was so good! And the senior waitress that served us was so lovely, friendly and polite and couldn’t have done more for us. We loved it here.

What an absolute gem of a pub! We were camping in the area, and my son and I and our dog had been walking nearby. We were absolutely soaked through and looking for some food and warmth. I asked the lady behind the bar if they were dog friendly, and she explained where we could sit. The welcome from the very beginning was warm and friendly. The food was outstanding and very reasonably priced. Kim, the lady behind the bar, was fantastic and looked after us so well! Kim even offered to tumble dry our wet clothes and offered us a lift to our campsite. Every village needs a local this good! Thank you so much for your hospitality, Diane and Jacob x

Called in for an evening meal, landlord was very welcoming and attentive, we had fish and chips which were exceptional lovely crispy batter and chips, we followed our main with a cheese platter which we shared plus a glass of red recommended by the landlord. Sadly I didn’t ask his name but what a lovely man, would highly recommend a meal at this pub.

Slow service, unremarkable food and certainly not worth the prices they charge for it. Avoid the warm haloumi salad!

First class from start to finish. We went here again as was very impressive on our first visit. Second trip was absolutely superb,we were accommodated very easily as another group was in and Lisa let us slightly change the menu to suit,the Meal was incredible, Belly pork that melted in your mouth and dauphinois potatoes with a French pea sauce that was so tasty. The chefs here certainly know what their doing, their food is brilliant and well presented. I highly recommend this establishment and their food and drink is exceptional.

Visited The Rose & Crown for the first time today to meet a friend pre 'lockdown', and will certainly be back. It was a pleasure to be there....the staff were so warm and welcoming....the food was absolutely delicious....the best 'pub' food I've eaten in years. It was hard to finally choose what to eat as there were several things I wanted...so definitely have to go back.....when circumstances allow.The scotch egg was sublime, the venison sausages, mash and gravy.....perfect. My friend chose the pie of the day.....I finished with the chocolate brownie, (friend chose the banoffee pie)

Home cooked and freshly prepared food. We booked here for an early dinner on Sunday. The food was excellent. My wife had the mince and onion pie and I had the burger. The flavour of the burger was beautiful and not dry. The pie was a proper shortcrust pastry pie not a stew with a pasty lid cokes separately as in other establishments. We both had starters too. I had the cheeseboard; 3 cheeses with plenty biscuits etc. I couldn’t finish it and took the cheddar home. They don’t have a children’s menu but will do a smaller portion of the main menu.

Had heard great things about this pub and it's clearly very popular. Busy Sunday evening on a B/Hol weekend and good covid restrictions in place. Very poor BBQ food; bland burger, cold falafel burger but chef helpfully cooked it properly when we asked him to and added some salad that one might have expected to have had anyway

Such a wonderful evening had by all last night at the Rose & Crown I don't know where to start. Respectful and well planned out covid control, really decked out the garden area to still make it comfortable and a nice area to sit even if the weather isn't up to scratch. As soon as you walk through the door the staff are polite and welcoming. Looking at a below review regarding the landlord, we too are regulars and have never received anything other a warm welcome and excellent service from all. Now let's get down to the food, one word... exceptional, the presentation, portions and above all the taste all 10/10 the chef certainly knows his stuff. We had a party of 6 and there was not one grumble (certainly not from our stomachs) as everything was perfect. Would definitely recommend the steak or any specials they have on I had venison steak (a special) and every bite was mouth watering. Needless to say we'll be back very soon. Thank you Dermot, Lisa, Kim and all the staff for such a fantastic evening.

My husband and I went to the Rose & Crown last night , we were made very welcome and it was very organised with its one way system etc ! Unfortunately our meal wasn’t the best , my husband ordered the salmon and I wish I’d taken a photo of the minuscule portion !! He had one thin slice of Salmon accompanied by a small stack of crushed potatoes, a couple of little dots of salsa , some vegetables would of been nice and at £14.95 !!! I’m just glad we tried this when it was the Eat out offer and only paid half that

Been cycling to different pubs for lunch with my daughter. This was the best yet. I had a Duck and Orange salad (cous cous - etc all the works) it was divine. My daughter went for the burger and that too was delicious. Shared a raspberry cheesecake and waddled off happy and full. Was all set out safe, one way, well screened, hand gels everywhere it was just spot on. Cheerful and friendly.

We went here for a family roast dinner on Sunday. The service was so good and the food was exceptional, the team there have done an amazing job with the new settings for COVID19 and everything was so clean. We would most certainly visit again.

So pleased to have found this pub today!! We are camping nearby and I saw the good reviews for here so thought we would drive out to it for drinks. Immediately we knew it was a real gem of a pub... beautifully presented and the CLEANEST we have ever been in! A well thought out system in place for COVID (the best we have seen in any pub since pubs opened again), and it’s explained in a friendly and welcoming way. The people who run this pub have everything just right! Great play area, simple but all 4 kids were fully entertained (aged between 6 and 11), generous child sized portions of the standard menu and ice lollies/ice creams offered for their dessert. We were so relaxed that we had to order lots of food! Although the specials were tempting, (the John Dory sounded superb) we would recommend the ploughman’s and the burgers from the main menu - off the scale delicious and such good value for money - even without the ‘eat out’ scheme we felt it was very reasonably priced for such lovely food. Thanks Rose and Crown team for being the highlight of our little camping trip!

I love going to the Rose and Crown not just for a good beer and some lovely food, but for the brilliant service I always get. The live music events they do are great fun too! Also they’ve done a fab job with social distancing and COVID measures, you always feel safe!

Just enjoyed a fabulous lunch, beautifully cooked moules marinaire, followed by a cracking ploughmans with some of the best cheese i've had. The family had courgette flower (delicious) to start then fish and chips and roast beef. Absolutely lovely, and the changes to comply with covid were very reassuring. One way system lots of outside tables and along with the Mundy Bois Militia HQ ( very funny Dermot) hand sanitiser and saw lots of cleaning going on. the extra garden space at the front looked so inviting.This was a cracking afternoon following lock down and we'll be back very soon. Called into the Rose & Crown when overnighting locally, prior to crossing the Channel tunnel. We arrived on a Sunday evening and there was an inviting open log fire in the dog friendly bar. We received a very warm and polite welcome from the bar staff. We opted from the Sunday roast which is also on the Sunday evening menu and it was delicious. The bar had 3 real ales on tap for real ale drinkers and a good selection of lagers and beers.Don't miss the Rose and Crown fin the area, you won't be disappointed

Called in here for a drink on a walk in the Pluckley area. Real ales are very well kept, we had A Canterbury Ale and Harvey's Best. The pub is set up for meals and is obviously popular for meals, however I can't comment on quality.

Dropped in on Tuesday to try the bogof deal. Well worth a try. Good beer, had a pint of the IPA and Harvey's bitter both good. Lamb pie, burger and gammon and chips all hit the spot. Lamb pie was particularly good.

My family and I visited for Sunday lunch. Generous on portions of meat and delicious. We all said it was the best roast we’ve had in a long time. And at £13 not over priced! The staff as always were super accommodating and friendly. Can’t go wrong, will definitely be back.

My husband and I visited this fantastic little pub today for lunch and we were amazed how friendly and welcoming the staff were , we were allowed to bring in our large German Pointer dog who was given a big bowl of fresh water and doggy treats he loved this! The Fire was crackling and warm, We ordered drinks and were given a very tasty smoked cheese and prawn aperitif, My husband had Ham, egg and chips and the Ham was plenty and thick, the egg had a beautiful dark yolk , so I’m guessing sourced local and not supermarket bought, I chose the Homemade Falafel burger as am vegetarian and wow wow wow it was delicious served with chips and a homemade slaw ! The portions were brilliant and when I thought I couldn’t eat anymore , hubby and I decided on recommendation from staff to try homemade banoffee pie and boy we were not disappointed it really was the best I’ve ever had with a caramelised banana on top yummy, could not fault the staff, the service or the food and the fact our dog was made so welcome too , keep up the good work and compliments to the chef Highly recommend a visit and as I don’t live too far will definitely be going back especially for banoffee pie

We visited for dinner as a party of seven friends. The atmosphere was welcoming, the food was plentiful and enjoyable, and the service was just as it should be. Two of our party were vegetarian, and were catered for admirably. No pretention at 'fine dining' - just first-class traditional English pub food. The Harvey's was well-kept, too.

Driving here is essential - unless you hike or take a taxi! Situated in beautiful countryside in the Weald of Kent, this pub rewards those who make the effort to find it. The welcome is warm and friendly, the beer tasty and the food great. You won’t be disappointed.

We won a two course meal here with wine. Have not eaten here for years, so new people in charge. The service and meal was excellent. I had pie, the best for years I have had and my wife had a cod loin dish. The wine was good. Desserts were amazing. Will definitely be going again.

Have been here three times in past few mo the with my wife and children. Always very friendly staff. Great choice of food including vegan options and kitchen has been happy to modify items to make them vegan... they have a beer festival, comedy night and music from time to time.
