Rooster's Grill in Leicester

Ordered a vegetarian burger only to eat it and for it to taste like fish. Absolutely disgusting. I tried to eat the patty alone, and it had clearly been fried with the meat. Further we waited 20mins for our food and yet my burger was luke warm. Absolutely disgusting. I called to let them know - the man was unhelpful and didn’t even say sorry for my experience then hung up on me. Won’t be going back.

Ordered chicken wings which were clearly days old and had been reheated before being served! Always a mixed review everytime I go and never had good food that previous review talk about!

ordered on just eat but it took double the time. Tried a million times their landlines but no answer. I had family on that day OMG THE EMBARRASSMENT! They did not even gave 3 pounds back promised! Roosters crossed, to be honest since they changed owners service and food taste is not the same.

My daughters and I ate lunch here about one and a half years ago and the food was delicious. The outward appearances, decor, and even ambiance, do not indicate how extraordinary the food is at this place. This is a place that focuses on the food. We live in Texas and we still talk about this place as the one of the best places we ate in England after spending a few days in Leicester in the middle of two weeks in London. The service was also marvelous.

Worst take away I’ve had by far. Called the restaurant after placing my order for my steak to be cooked medium got it well done dry chewy and horrible! Clearly my request was ignored or very incompetent grill chef! As was the Lamb chops and chicken wings burnt too also dry! Food was cold as the Delivery was delayed.

The first place to do gazebo chicken in Leicester. Owners have changed hands but still do nice gazebo chicken.

Really friendly owner who was welcoming. Food came quickly and it was delicious! Very reasonable and the steak was cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend the gazebo chicken and the chicken fillet burger

We went in on a Friday night after we had been in town For few drinks. We ordered quickly the food arrive swiftly. It was very tasty. We have eaten here lots of times but my parents had never tried it so we ordered a selection of food. Gazebo chicken, spicy rice, masala chips, prawns and t bone steak.

The service that we had received and food was nice. The price for the food was reasonable for the potion sizes. Overall we had a great experience here and will return

The food here is really good and their chicken dishes are amazing. However thei steaks are not brilliant and should Change their steaks.like thicker steaks It can improve by offering better food in terms of taste. But overal food is good and service is great too.

Been here a few times with family and friends and it never disappoints. Food is great service is fast and efficient clean and tidy facility. *does not accept card payments Got to try out their Gazeebo chicken, chicken fillet burger, prawn and steak.

Went to Rooster's after a very long time since new owners. Went with the family. The service first of all was excellent, staff very friendly. Located on London Road, however managed to find parking in the back which was great. We ordered various dishes, starters and mains. Spent over £80. The place does not accept credit card! Did not have to wait too long for the food, some of the dishes were nice for example gazebo chicken, the chicken grilled however tasted too dry and not nice. Food was not too expensive, had lots of deals where you get chips and a drink, so ordered a few of them. Would not rush to visit again or recommend but glad we tried to see what the hype was about. We all said we would not visit again as so many other options in Leicester.

Had dinner here with a friend. The owner or manager explained the food based on our spice preferences. Food was spot on and hearty, I left feeling incredibly satisfied. Can’t really go wrong I feel!

Food is always consistent and tastes great, service is brilliant. Manager is very friendly and always polite. Have ordered over the phone and then collected, order was spot on and repeated back before confirming how long it was going to take. Was ready on time and tasted just as it should be. Would highly recommend this place.

We come here atleast twice a month/order takeaway.. the service is absolutely fantastic! Mohsin is always attentive and happy to meet all needs. We have been with 2-40 family members and they always get each and every order correct 😁 ... I have to eat Gluten Free and Staff are informative and helpful. Would always recommend a visit 😊

Went there with a couple of friends, we were served kindly by the staff, the guy was patient while we decided what we were getting, also gave us a time frame of when the food would be ready, the food didn't take too long to arrive, we had gazebo chicken meal, tasted really good, looking forward to visiting again!!!

I visited this restaurant on a busy Friday night alongside my family of six including kids.We called in prior on arrival and received a table very swiftly. The atmosphere was vibrant and the food was fresh, cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious especially the gazebo chicken.A word of praise must go to the owner and his staff who made us feel very welcome and served us attentively throughout the night. It won’t be our last visit!

Love this place. Amazing food and great delivery service. Usually when I work late I don't have the time to cook a nice meal for hubby and me. I've been relying on roosters to do this for me. So far they have not let me down. Affordable, Tasty and always deliver on time!

I'm a Bournemouth lad staying in a Leciester for a couple nights and thought I'd see what chicken they had on offer. Roosters of London Road LE2; the friendliest service I have ever received in a fast food outlet, hands down. This was closely followed up by cracking food at unbeatable value. Many thanks.

We visited Roosters for dinner and ordered King Prawns, Lamb Chops and Gazebo chicken served with Peri Chips, Salad, Garlic Bread, Coleslaw and Spicy Rice.

Came here after many years, with family this time. Customer service was excellent. Really friendly members of staff. We ordered, sat down and food didnt take long at all to be served. Ordered a tbone steak meal and grilled chicken meals. Food was tasty, and i love how the chicken skin was nice and crispy, not like other places where the skin is soggy and fatty due to not being grilled long enough. So well done roosters, we will be back!

Forget your gourmet burgers and try this grilled fillet burger which consistently tastes good every time. Never been disappointed and their butterfly prawns are the best I've ever tried and worth every penny.

Been here multiple times, never been disappointed. The chicken here is fantastic and surprisingly cheap for what you actually get. Definitely recommended.

Amazing food - love it! Service is quick. It is pretty small and simple inside but good for a quick bite to eat.

We tend to order dinner from this place quite often and never have been disappointed, they do the most yummiest gazebo chicken! I have tried their lamb burgers too which are average ...

I had a burger and some chicken wings on one occasion and the wings were so overcooked and totally dry that it was like a biscuit! On another occasion I ordered the sheek kebabs and one side was burnt like the cook had left it too long and the other side was OK. Giving them a second chance was the last. I did not understand how he could have plated that up for the customer and serve it. Don't know about any of the other food so cannot comment on that. Won't return again.

Visited this place a few days ago and I feel this is a very fair rating for the place. Will start with the order placing. The guy on the counter mid afternoon on a weekday was not groomed well. Arrogant and not helpful at all. Said 5mins for out meals which means my chicken was not going to be fresh but I can live with that as long as it's tasty. We ordered a lamb burger meal, half a chicken meal with rice and a masala chips as heard they are good. The place is not a grill. Everything had chicken tikka paste on it and more an Indian taste. Even the lamb burger had some sort of tikka paste. The rice was also mixed with spices making it more of an Indian. In my opinion it should be called roosters the Indian way. Overall burger average. The rice and chicken dry. The chilli sauce and salad perfect. But for around 15£ I think I will go to Tesco for my salad. It's cheaper. Taste 4/10. Would not go back. It gets better. While we are eating some last comes in on the phone swearing and seems very angry while talking which you can understand might be upset but come on.... You have customers seated and goes on for ages on her mobile shouting etc. Then moves on to talking about the toilets were dirty and too much info about the contents. That's when I decided I hd finished eating and bye roosters. General standard of this place and customer service seems below average as none of the staff had a uniform on and not professional at all. Maybe got them on an off day but I have to review on my experience.

I visited Roosters for lunch and tucked into a grilled lamb burger & chips - The lamb burger was cooked to perfection - Extremely well seasoned and succulent. The burger came with a side of chips (a decent portion) as well as a drink - All for the price of £3.50 - I'll certainly be returning again!The venue itself is fairly simple, (so I wouldn't recommend this for a romantic meal!) - however if it's a quick bite to eat with friends - then it'd be ideal!

Came here at lunchtime and ordered the grilled tilapia. The fish was cooked to perfection and tasted awesome. My son ordered a chicken which he said was tasty also. If I am ever in the area I would definitely come here again.

The last time I had eatan at roosters was before they did up the front of the restraunt. Anybody from leicester will know there food is good but my recent visit was very bad. When you order half a grilled chicken and it comes to you in 5 minutes you know it's not fresh. The meat was dry, clearly pre cooked the salad portion was a joke. The tables were not clean, evan the ketchup bottle felt dirty to hold. I Would say I'm a connoisseur of grilled meats due to my strict diet. The chicken here I would not recomend. Personally very disappointed, like there was no passion in the place. Leicesters increasing competition of new food restraunts will certainly effect the popularity of roosters grill. I used to see roosters grill as one of leicesters original grills but I can say they really need to step up in food quality and custormer experience and also cleanliness. Many friends have told me about this also but I had to go and see for myself... I hope they turn it around !

Rung through my order, went to pick up -staff behind the counter but I was somewhat invisible!! Eventually I was seen to, my order handed over, cash exchanged - but not so much as a thank you!!! I take customer service is non-existent in these parts?!!Now let's move onto the meal. BBQ's chicken that was dry to the bone. Burgers... meh!! Donner kebab.... Ok so that was at least something decent!!! But that's about it...oh and the chips..... Enough vinegar to stink out my car - they were literally swimming!!!Don't get me wrong, we've been here a few times and every time - it's been lovely. So why the disgusting service this time I ask youDisappointed!!

The best gazebo chicken in the city by far! Lots of copies available around the city but nothing comes close to this place. Seating is available or takeaway. Parking is a bit of an issue as it's situated on London Road which is very busy...but then again the food is worth the hassle. Must try!

Walked in for a quick brunch on my way to the train station, left satisfied and full. Can't ask for more from a regular restaurant, definitely recommend if you're passing by.
