Fantastic food! Wish we lived closer to come more often, best burger (Mr Piggy burger) we've ever eaten! Would travel the 200miles just for that.

We used to love roos leap but have found it to not be the same as it used to be. They had the most delicious nachos with pulled pork that we had ever tasted but now a hit or a miss and the nachos have been taken off the menu. I know everywhere has put their prices up but the prices have gone up considerably.. so much so that I don't really think it's worth it. If the food was consistently the same and decently priced we would definitely go more often but I don't think we would choose roos leap next time we were looking for somewhere to eat. Another thing we noticed was it wasn't as busy as usual. Sorry roos leap. We are disappointed.

Had a lovely family meal on Sunday 24th March 4 adults 4 children. Food was amazing well presented but not sure if £43 for Ribeye steak small bucket of chip and 2 onion rings half a large tomato and a slice of onion on the steak was worth the money was left feeling very hungry. We all has desert which excellent. Service amazing Fish and chips my husband had looked 😋 great wish I'd had that but all said and done overall 9/10 well worth the 640 mile drive from Plymouth to visit family 😋😋

An Australian restaurant in Montrose, what were they thinking?! It works really well, has great food, is well cooked, and is served with style, in our case, by a waitress from Michigan!. Quite a buzz on a Wednesday. I had the very tasty steak sandwich and would happily return.

What a wonderful final lunch of 2023! The burgers were epic. There is also a fantastic selection of no-cal and low-cal drinks. They have separate menus for veggie, vegan and gluten free, which feels a very progressive idea. The folks serving are just so kind and friendly. They were lovely to our slightly sandy golden retriever (we booked the dog friendly zone in advance). This restaurant has a great vibe and we couldn't praise it more. While Roo’s leap is a bit of a trek from Aberdeen it is definitely worth the trip! Focused on steaks and burgers the food was tasty and portions were perfect. Sourdough and Olives as a starter followed by Fillet, Bavette (not so well cooked) and Ribeye, all delicious and well seasoned but sadly not piping hot when served, plates were possibly cold too! Desert section caters to everyone and extensive beer, wine and spirit selection, all of which was fairly priced. Decor fits the theme and staff were busy and helpful.

Went for a weekend to aviemore. Was looking forward to evening dinner here but it was sadly very disappointing. The onion blossom was a greasy affair. Main dishes arrived loaded with fries. Burgers x 3 were all very tasteless with a mushed coleslaw and greasy tasteless fries. Chillie dogs were just as disappointing. One of our party tried to order sparkling mineral water to be told there was none left. ??? What restaurant does not have sparkling mineral water. Everyone left huge quantities of their main dishes as unseasoned and very tasteless. Ice cream scoops faired a bit better. Will not return again to this restaurant even if it is the only place open in aviemore.

The servers warned us ahead of time that the Awesome Onion Blossom couldn't be served as advertised because there were no large enough onions available. We decided to go for it anyway, and the reward was well worth it. Piles of onion strands are hand dredged in a surprisingly spicy, peppery batter in a similar way to fish shop scraps. This truly awesome blossom is easily enough to share. In our case it made up our entire dinner, complete with a yummy side salad. As we explained our onion ring experiment at the till though we learned that this location of Roo's has unfortunately been sold and will soon close. Definitely a memorable onion experience.

Went here on a Saturday night with 7 other female relatives including my sister who we were helping to celebrate her 65th birthday. Roos Leap was busy with 2 large stag groups one group getting ready to leave as we arrived, very nice took some photographs for us and one very loud group whose language at times was rather blue. Staff were very friendly getting drinks in quickly and taking our orders. If you don't have a large appetite don't bother with a starter portions are very large. My sister and I who are celiac decided to have the GF fish and chips both choosing the half portion, it did state that the fish was grilled and not battered as normal but it was really tasteless we were both so disappointed but as it was our choice didn't want to make too much of a fuss. I can only advise them to remove this from their menu if they are not going to do proper fish and chips there is enough items on their GF menu without keeping this half hearted attempt at a fish supper. Everyone else at table was happy with all the food they had ordered and my GF dessert was lovely. Would I go back, yes but I hope they have removed the offending item from their menu.

I visited Roos Leap in Aviemore with my two teenage sons after a day out at the Highland Wildlife Park. The menu was perfect for our tastes. My youngest son had a chicken burger with cheese and fries and also garlic bread. He really enjoyed it and left nothing. My older son had the plain dog with fries and also really enjoyed his meal. I had chicken fajitas which were delicious and it was a very generous amount of chicken. We all had ice cream for dessert ... we couldn’t decide between one scoop or two so I opted for one and the boys had two but they struggled to finish it! We all had two soft drinks each. The cost of the meal was £60 which I thought was slightly on the expensive side as it was only one adult and two children and no alcoholic drinks but overall it was a lovely meal and if we are in Aviemore again we will definitely go back.
