Best Indian for miles, amazing food and slick service. I had a tender lamb dish perfectly spiced and the wife loved her biryani.

Absolutely no seasoning on the sides, ( mushroom bhaji and saag bhaji) curry just tasted of uncooked dry spices! Rice was tasteless

We visited the restaurant last night for a birthday meal. It’s the first time I have visited this restaurant and we were very impressed. The service was friendly and they accommodated our party of 10 with ease. We were offered the Sunday Banquet which is amazing value for money and includes a starter, main, side dish and either bread or rice. Imran the manager was especially great, he was super friendly and a good sport, taking photos for us and playing along with all our daft jokes! The restaurant is clean and the food is gorgeous and plentiful! We were allowed to take our own birthday cake for the end of the night, and they served it to us with the candles lit while “Happy Birthday” belted out through the speakers, the whole restaurant joined in which was brilliant! At the end of the night we were offered a complimentary drink of our choice, Baileys, Brandy etc. which finished our fabulous evening off beautifully. Thank you to the whole team, we will be visiting again soon.

Just found the receipt in my wallet and this prompted me to say thank you to Saiful and his team for a fantastic evening.Unbeknowst to them my family and I were staying in a nearby hotel (Ashdown Park) after a kitchen fire at home. When the fire happened we had to move out of home and move from hotel to hotel for five weeks while our kitchen was renovated. Staycations/ lifting of lockdown left no airbnbs and we were really looking for a relaxing restaurant where we would be looked after.We were happy to take their recommendations and it really paid off. This was a tantastically tasty curry in good surroundings and, best of all, they really looked after my daughter making her a life long curry fan with their fun desserts.Thank you.

Great food, great service, even gave me a birthday cake and sang happy birthday at the end! Everybody enjoyed themselves very much!

Our first time here last Saturday, starters seemed like that were sitting around a while and then reheated.Mains was actually nice. Overall we pre booked a table for 7pm but felt so rushed and was in there under and hour maybe 45 mins. Seating wasn’t good either was put in a tiny alcove where your feet can’t touch the ground. We said we’d go back maybe on a week day so we wasn’t rushed and give it one more go. Not the best ambiance when you’ve been after a nice evening out for a very long time. Sorry to say they do seem to look after regulars more then welcoming anybody new.

Lovely food, lovely friendly service, particularly enjoyed the tandoori prawns and lamb shank, will be visiting again!

We were staying local once more and our first thought was to go here again, as we had a couple of great meals here in June.The food and service was just as good as last time, if not better, good portion sizes, nice wait in between courses, ice cold drinks, great presentation & all reasonably priced.For a Monday night it was fairly busy but Imran & his colleague (they were short staffed) managed all the tables with great ease.Once again Imran was superb, if all restaurant managers were as good as him, the hospitality field would be a greater place. If your kids are reading this, you should be really proud of your Dad.We will definitely be back on our next visit to this lovely village.Thank you once again, Graham & Natalie

We’re from near Birmingham and were away for a couple of nights. Quality of the food was second to none and has left us questioning whether we want to change our go-to Indian restaurant back home! The pathia in particular was outstanding. Staff were so friendly and made you feel very welcome. Really lovely night and good value for money too. Thanks guys!

Only our second visit here but we will definitely be back. The food was amazing and the service excellent. It was my husband’s birthday and when I mentioned this to a member of staff, he was then delivered a cake complete with sparklers! There was not one thing I could fault about this restaurant and we look forward to dining here again soon

Went above and beyond in every respect of the evening. The food was excellent and once the staff found out that it was one of the group's birthday they brought out a cake free of charge! Absolutely faultless all-round, with an extra special thanks to Imran. Would highly recommend!

We were staying at Ashdown Park Hotel and for various reasons wanted to go somewhere else to eat. It was a good friend's 50th birthday. I have Coeliac Disease so must have gluten free food. We called and asked them if they could cater for me and when reassured that they could we booked for that evening; Sunday 28th June. We arrived in two cars and when we got there I explained that we were celebrating our friends birthday. The manager just nodded, smiled and showed us to our table.As we were looking at the menu he came and carefully explained all the various gluten free options that I could have, and I had a huge choice. We ordered and I must say we were not disappointed in any way. The food was plentiful and absolutely delicious. Service was good and the waiters very pleasant.Once we had finished our main courses we were brought the dessert menus. The usual pre-prepared ice creams you tend to get in Indian restaurants, but we were all far too full to partake. As we were deciding whether to have a coffee or not there was a little commotion, 'Happy Birthday' started playing over the music system and a full sized chocolate birthday cake appeared complete with candles. I had expected maybe a small ice cream with a candle but this was lovely. We were so surprised and our friend was thrilled. When the bill came there was no charge for the cake, nor for the complimentary drinks which came with it for us all. We couldn't eat all the cake so the manager boxed it up for our friend to take home (it appeared they had popped down the road to the Coop to purchase it when they learned of the birthday.They didn't even put a charge on the bill for it! We left a suitable large tip as our way of saying Thank you and of course this review.I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant, not just for gluten free food but as a go to destination for a lovely meal.

Had a takeaway from Roochi Restaurant in Forest Row and it was great food. Ordered it online and went to pick it up 40 mins later, had to wait a bit as they were really busy but they were very apologetic. The food was really well cooked and the flavours were amazing. Would definitely order again and even book a table to eat in.

Me and my family absolutely love Roochi, the staff are so lovely and attentive. This evening they overheard that tonight was a month before me and my fiancé are due to get married but our plans had been ruined by the COVID announcement, so they surprised us with a cake. We honestly can’t thank them enough! Great food as always Roochi. Thank you!!

We were staying at the Ashdown Park Country Hotel and popped here for an easy dinner out. It was a 10 minute drive and parking at the public car park near the restaurant was free and easy.The staff at the restaurant were really on it, welcoming, friendly and polite. Quick service too. The food was great, good size portions and excellent value for money. Would highly recommend a visit and would definitely come back ourselves next time we’re in the area. Thank you!

Exceptional food served by attentive but not intrusive waiters in a warm, friendly atmosphere. That sums up our experience and we couldn't have asked for more! We are never disappointed when visiting Roochi.

We were in Forest Row recently visiting my son and decided to entrust our catering to Roochi. Very soon we became aware that we were somewhere special. The warm welcome, the spotless state of the restaurant service and the delicious dishes were beyond expectations. I grew up enjoying Indian food and the dishes at Roochi were some of the best I have ever been served. Strict adherence to social distancing and hygiene were in force. Reflecting on the days gone by when wonderful deserts like banana fritters were much enjoyed by me and my children, we were astonished when it appeared they were remembered and forthcoming all these years later! We will most certainly be checking in when we are in Forest Row again. Thank you to all the staff and especially Imran for making our evenings memorable.

This was our first visit to Roochi since moving to Forest Row, although we’d had take away which has always been lovely. What an amazing experience, I would even go as far to say definitely in my top 3 of Indian restaurants ever visited and I have been to A LOT of Indian restaurants in my time!! Everything; the service, the ambience, the food was first class! The selection of dips with the poppadums were so tasty we had to order more poppadums! We would also highly recommend the Rajashtani chicken and the Roochi Bombay Fish which were both delicious! We can’t wait to go back very soon. Thank you Roochi’s!

Roochi is the perfect place to get together with family. We had a brilliant evening with the family and as ever the staff at Roochi were lovely especially with the grandchildren. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was great. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Me & my wife recently enjoyed a celebratory meal here, in fact we enjoyed in so much we actually went back the following night.The restaurant looks good from the outside, with patio doors being wide open, all looking very clean, tidy & inviting.We had booked online & requested a nice table as it was a special occasion, on arrival we were greeted with a smile & shown to a nice round table in the far corner. All the food we had here over the 2 nights was superb, all very well presented & generous portions at a reasonable price. Plus lovely ice cold Cobra on tap!All the staff were friendly & efficient but I must make a special mention to Imran......he served us the majority of our 2 visits & was the main reason we went back the following night. His standard of service & genuiene friendly manner was superb & as he knew we were celebrating a special occasion he even arranged a couple of treats for us during our evening. Apparently he is a new member of staff but he is already a real asset to this place, he just makes the restaurant buzz, making sure he has little chats with each & every group, all done with a smile on his face, even behind the masks!! Thus a massive thank you Imran for making our night just that little bit extra special.When we are back in the area, we will definitely revisit & will be recommending this place to family & friends.

Really enjoyed our takeaway on Saturday evening. Perfect and very reasonably priced. We had a couple of mains and starters and it was all perfect and enjoyable.

You must try their king prawn dishes, just down the road from an award winning fish mongers, this place has the best fish curries ever!

I have been a regular customer of Roochi for 18 months. I have always found the staff welcoming, polite and courteous. The food is always great and I have tried a lot of different dishes. I have and do recommend it to my friends locally. Everyone I know loves it. It’s a shame there have been a couple of not so good reviews but come on. It was New Years Eve and probably their busiest night of the year. Don’t let that put you off. It’s a great restaurant with excellent food and courteous staff.

Really enjoyed our take-out order of Prawn Biryani and Sag Aloo. I could eat the Sag Aloo every day.

Roochi has delicious food from a broad menu (The Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi is a favourite of mine - if you like some moderate spice) and has a convenient delivery service too, so no need to leave the house - a gift during lockdown!

We have been using Roochi for the last few take aways now even though we live in East Grinstead as myself and my other half (who would probably live on currys) and our children have decided they are the best around. The lamb is really tender and not gristly and the taste is amazing and not your big standard curry taste.Highly recommended for any Curry lover.

Ordered meal on line at 13.05 to collect at 19.00. ..over 20 people waiting inside , not able to socially distance. .. I waited and waited . .. at 20.15 I eventually got my meal. It was pointless getting cross, but it was disappointing to not even get an apology. .. I was in there 75 minutes and not once did a staff member say sorry ! ..the food is always good , but a shame they couldn't cope with a ..to be expected high volume. It was NYE ..and a lockdown.. an apology would have made a very bad situation a little better.

NYE. Booked online over 4 hours before provided collection time. Spent 50 plus minutes sitting in restaurant waiting for my order. Not particularly good Covid precautions either. Finally collected order. Dashed for home. Starters and other parts of order absent. Phone not being answered and website down. There seems to be no logic to their ordering process and from the end of phone conversations that I could hear there were repeated queries from annoyed customers looking for their delivery orders - they were told there were delays of up to two hours. Never, ever again. I should have trusted the community Facebook pages who have been complaining about the same for a while.

My husband and I have enjoyed yet another amazing Sunday lunch at Roochi. Their Sunday Special is incredible value - really outstanding food and very generous portions with excellent friendly service. Highly recommend

My wife and I were staying locally For a couple of days and tried Roochi with no prior recommendations. The staff were excellent in observing segregation whilst creating a friendly ambience. Now the food- fantastic. I would highly recommend the Chicken Tikka Bakara to anyone. I didn’t want to finish the dish as it was soooooo tasty. Even the Aloo Gobi was the tastiest I’ve ever had and we always have this as a side. I would be tempted to make the 60 (ish) mile round trip just for one meal!

I have been going to Roochi for years and am a big fan. Friendly management and staff, good food at reasonable prices and local to me. During lockdown I switched to takeaways and have been delighted with the quality of the food. This evening I ordered for my family a number of dishes and my regular Madras using the website. So easy to use. I also decided to ask for some extra sliced green chillies in the Madras using the txt/comment section. I collected the order which was ready on time and the manager took the time to explain how they added the green chillies at the start of cooking the Madras to ensure the flavour infused into the sauce rather than a garnish at the end. This attention to detail is rare. Suffice to say the result was an excellent dish reminding me of my Jalfrezi days. Just another example of why I like Roochi.

Have heard good thing about Roochi so gave it a go great meal chicken very tender we had Chicken Dhansak and Chicken Tikka main with all the side dishes all very tasty the mint dressing was fabulous.

So i was just about to order and saw two non favourable reviews and decided to pitch in. I’ve never had my details abused and never found the food bland. I’ve tried numerous dishes myself and my family and i’m very happy with the quality of the food. I would recommend this place if you are in and around forest row, east grinstead etc

Don't give any personal info, I ordered a takeaway, they asked me for my telephone number which I gave them, this was two years ago since then, I have received numerous spam texts, often in the early hours of the morning, I have called them and visited in person asking them to stop spamming texting me and they outright refused, I have stopped doing business with them for this reason.

Unfortunately the food was quite uninspiring.... I was looking forward to a good curry, but the reality is the food was just too bland. There was no real depth to the flavours. It was quite busy which is great, so I imagine the food is simply tailored to demand, and the demand must be for minimal spice and heat. It just was not for us. The service and decor was fine.

Have visited here on a couple of occasions. Lovely layout and very friendly staff. Food is very nice and flavoursome. The Sunday banquet is very good value and will visit again.

I feel I should leave a review as I called the restaurant to see if they could kindly offer a bottle of Champagne to the party if I paid for it over the phone and they agreed to arrange it for me..Thank you . My first experience of Roochi did not disappoint. Welcoming staff, pleasant decor and mouth-watering food. A delightful evening.

We ate early as the family needed to move on sooner rather than later. Being early (17.35) was a bonus as the welcome was very pleasing, and we were led to our table with aplomb.The attentive staff made it so very easy to settle in and order our meal ("Sunday Banquet"). The children were well catered for and shown respect, and ALL portions were generous. The meals were nice and hot and served in quick time, with the waiters laying out the napkins onto your knees.The Indian music was very pleasant and not too loud.The atmosphere was luxurious, but thankfully the price was not luxurious - well worth the money, even with the extras we got (a little bit more paid, but worth every penny).The staff were attentive at all the stages - Saiful Hussain was especially courteous and helpful. Kallum was a splendid waiter too. They were all a credit to the establishment.When leaving the door was opened for the family and we left with a warm contented feeling.I was very happy to leave a generous "tip".

Such a welcoming atmosphere. So much choice and the staff always willing to offer advice. The food is always consistently good and tasty. We have also had a takeaway from Roochi and if you order online, they give you a good discount. Well worth a visit. But make sure you leave a table for me.

This restaurant is consistently good both in service and quality of food. We are extremely lucky to have this facility in our local village offering such a variety of dishes. It is really unnecessary for us to go elsewhere for our Indian food. We are always made to feel welcome no matter how busy they may be. No hesitation in recommending it.

Nothing is perfect in this transitory life and a shame that TripAdvisor does not have a more sensitive rating mechanism. thoroughly recommended and the Wed and Sun deals are not to be missed.

A cozy retreat from last night’s chill, I thoroughly enjoyed a warming King Prawn Koraai with a sweet peshawari naan and a first class biryani. Friendly staff - a good choice if you’re near Forest Row.

Extremely disappointed with an hour and 45 mins delivery time. Having called and told it was on it’s was we still had to wait an extra 35 mins and then when we tried to call again phone engaged continuously

We arrived late evening and they were friendly. The dinner was delicious and fast delivery. It was good choice to come here.

As ever, food was second to none and service could not have been better. Unlike some Indian meals where everything merges into one taste, you could experience all of the various flavours. Service was quick, with staff being friendly and attentive without being overly intrusive. We travel 9 miles once a week to eat at the best restaurant we have found in the area. My friend and I dined at Roochi on Sunday 6th August.

Placed an online takeaway order and drove the twenty minutes to pick it up. Walked into the restaurant and said I’ve come to pick up an order and told to sit in the waiting area. After five minutes I asked the duty manager when it might be ready and if I could pay. Quite irritated he asked my name and I gave my surname. He spent a few seconds looking through the t/a orders and said there’s was nothing under my name and walked off.

Nette uitstraling, keurige correcte bediening, vriendelijk en ze namen alle tijd om uit te leggen waar hun keuken voor staat. Op basis van hun uitleg besteld en wij zijn om. Bijzonder smaakvol en voor herhaling vatbaar. Jammer dat zij het dessert, lees ijs voorverpakt aanbieden en de prijzen zijn exclusief 10% voor de bediening.

Yet another lovely evening spent at Roochi, this time with our friends from the USA. The food was deliciously flavoured, and the service was impeccable.

We visited for a friend's birthday. We all tried something we wouldn't normally have and all the food was delicious. It tasted so fresh, the chicken was succulent and some huge prawns. Plenty of meat and veg in the curries, not just loads of runny sauce like some places. The staff were friendly and gave us complimentary birthday drink. Will return soon.

This is a fabulous restaurant, with a good selection of gorgeous food and accompanying drinks, very pleasant atmosphere, and - most emphatically - the friendliest staff. I have now dined there twice, and will be going back again soon. There are a number of dishes which I haven't been able to get elsewhere, along with all the usual choices. The service from the staff was super friendly, and highly efficient, and there was a complimentary drink to end the meal. I cannot praise this restaurant enough, and recommend it highly.

We had a fabulous evening with family and friends for my partners birthday. The food was very delicious and the staff attentive without being over the top. We all ate from the super reasonably priced set menu for the Sunday buffet and we were not disappointed.

My wife and I have just had an early dinner at Roochi and cannot fault it. Roochi is furnished superbly with faultless service and very tasty food. Background music is turned down very low, so doesn't intrude into conversations or upset anyone with a different musical taste. The general ambience is of an upmarket establishment but this isn't reflected in the final bill which was less than I expected for a restaurant of this calibre. I might add that my wife and I are both vegetarians and very often have trouble finding something to eat at other restaurants. Roochi has various vegetarian options on their menu as well as the more usual lamb, chicken and seafood dishes.

Eat here as a family, couple and have takeaways. Staff are friendly and the food is always good. The restaurant has a lovely feel to it.

We have used the takeaway service a few times and have always been impressed with the service , we used to use the Bengal Village in Forest Row but this has now closed down , we decided to have a family meal out at the restaurant , we could not find fault anywhere , the restaurant was very clean and well laid out , the staff were very welcoming and attentive throughout , we all had different items from the menu which all arrived very quickly and were served hot and tasted very good , excellent service throughout will be going back soon

Ordered a delivery at 7:15pm, called at 8:30pm to find out where the food was, and was told it’s on its way & was hung up on. Called again 9:15, was then told it would be 5 minutes, 9:45pm it’s still not arrived! I’ve now given up & will go to bed without dinner! I will never use Roochi again, I could have cooked my own curry in 2 & half hours! Disgraceful service

Visited for dinner whilst in the area on a mini break. We found the restaurant on Google maps along with a heap of other Indian restaurants and hoped for the best. We definitely were not disappointed. We had a delicious meal with prompt, efficient and friendly service, it was fantastic and I cant recommend this place enough. Just a shame its 300 miles from home.
