Great service and very happy with the food quality

This is a gem of a place in Hamilton. Beautiful food, great service and a lovely restaurant setting. Even the ladies loo is fab (although a bit of a stair climb, but get your steps in, you'll need them). There is parking nearby and they have a lovely new separate bar too. Although I didn't go in, it looked very nice from the outside. We had hoped to go back and eat there a 2nd time but life got in the way. However, my friend has added it to the list of places she goes with her mum for lunch! If you love Italian food, you'll love Rocca. ❤️

Excellent menu and great value for money, service was excellent, staff friendly and welcoming

Staff are really nice. The manager really went out of his way to look after us. Jonathan, you're some man. Gave us a loverly bottle of wine. Could not thank them enough. Fantastic food and experience.

Gorgeous restaurant with amazing and super friendly staff - especially Zoe, was really helpful. Food came out fast and was absolutely delicious. Cocktails were incredible as well. Will be back and would recommend to anyone.

Pleasant experience with friends

Had dinner here a few weeks ago and can’t wait to go back. The meal start to finish was delicious and great quality. Starters, we tried a few different Pastas especially the pasta in the foil, all lovely and dessert also to top it off! The service was great too!

This is a very attractive restaurant. Lovely welcome when we arrived. Startérs were excellent. Really tasty. Alas ,all our mains were pedestrian at best. Bit tasteless really. We were disappointed after the starters being so good. Didn't risk a dessert.

Things started off great. Lovely atmosphere and decor. Prompt service to start with and great food, but midway through our night service went downhill. We were sat in the corner across from the bar and the entrance way. There was a large group in the opposite side which kept serving staff occupied. A big difference to our night would have been made if staff had simply glanced over to our table (when going between this group and the bar) so that we could get their attention but they didn’t. Eventually when someone was available to take a drinks order after our mains, we waited so long that I was about to approach the bar, cancel it and just get the bill but they eventually showed up. No apology for the wait (I would have given those drinks for free coupled with an apology!) Overall, we felt neglected and forgotten about for most of our evening after the starters arrived. Disappointing when Rocco seems to have so much else going for it. Politely made our feelings known when asked by a member of staff who said that she would pass on our feedback but that was it. In terms of food, antipasto was excellent, pizzas and Spaghetti Carbonara were good. Tagliatelle Bolognese was bland and under-seasoned in our opinion. Desserts were good but the home made Tiramisu was a disappointment (couldn’t taste much coffee). After the starters I said “we’re definitely coming back here” but after the whole experience I’m not so sure. Might give it another go in future, might not. It’s a competitive market and there’s lots of others to choose from…

Staff are amazing - food was fantastic. I opted for minestrone - piping hot and packed with veg, delicious. I had the smoked haddock tagliatelle - I highly recommend trying this dish, it's fantastic.

So glad we came here for a relaxing dinner. We couldn't praise the staff highly enough - Leonna is marvellous at making you feel welcome, and her banter is great. QThen there's the food - we chose from the A La Carte menu...good value and very tasty. The boss had Veal Saltimbocca, and I had the chicken with creamy mushrooms & rice - delicious. And delicious desserts too! There's no rush here. A relaxed warm atmosphere. We highly recommend you visit!! Might be better to book a table, but we were lucky to get table 29.

Soup was Luke warm, bolognes hardly any mince. Luke warm too. Over priced for two course lunch.

My husband and I had a very nice time last night. The food and service was very professional and the atmosphere was really relaxing and didn't feel rushed at all.

Rocca never fails to disappoint. The food was awesome, the service is great and all at a very competitive price.

I had called on Friday the night before the Saturday 20th October 2023 I went out with friends to continue celebrating a special birthday to ensure they accepted the vouchers (ITISON £100) and was assured they accepted them. On the night after a lovely meal I was then told they did not accept them and was then in front of the restaurant was told by the Italian waiter I was a liar and did not mention the name of the voucher, after proving to them Rocca does accept ITISON I was then confronted with another obstacle of why they wouldnt take them to which my husband paid the bill to save any more embarassment as I was upset by this time. I left the restaurant with noone willing to help as it turns out I could have went on my phone there and then and registered the voucher to Rocca and redeemed it then but I was allowed to leave without any resolve to the situation.

Absolutely loved this restaurant. Only thing will recommend is to make a reservation. Also, you should absolutely try the desserts! Decoration was great and the staff were lovely.

Dinner tonight. Ordered the Prosecco that did not say dry on the menu avoiding the dry and extra dry only to have a bottle of extra dry Prosecco arrive at the table brought it to the attention of the server to gave what I assume to be the manager come to the table and tell me Prosecco only comes as extra dry. That absolutely is not the case and I would have assumed that they know that Prosecco can be sweet and dry. Food arrived I ordered fish and chips were do I start it was awful fat unseasoned chips and frozen fish goujons I eat fish often and thus is by far the worst I have ever been served. It was bland unseasoned rubbish. But the manager did not appear to query my dissatisfaction of returning the full meal as he did to patronise me about the Prosecco. Loud obnoxious table across from us that got lots of attention kids at the table throwing balloons about and generally being a nuisance but as there were a lot of them that seemed to be acceptable for other diners to accept this circus of behaviour. All in all so disappointing food service and customer care. Might I also include the server that arrived at the table shouted pizza banged down our focaccia and left. Honestly the place was a complete shambles. I have given this place 3 chances now and had awful service or food each time tonight was the last straw. £138 to go home hungry total disgrace

Family lunch for 12. The table setting looked fantastic. The celebration menu had a wide choice of 3 courses. The food was good. The service was excellent. Restaurant has a friendly atmosphere. Would definitely go back.

The food was fantastic! Can't fault any of the dishes we had. Our server had a great sense of humour and was attentive just the right amount, considering how busy it was. One of the servers accidentally spilled food towards one of my friends which then spilled onto her clothes a little. She seemed quite new, still learning. She apologised but could have tried to help clean up or replace the food that fell on the floor. Our table was situated right beside the food hatch and toilets so people were passing constantly. Not the best if you want a quiet, intimate evening. Regardless of this, we had a lovely time and would highly recommend the sea bass and carbonara!

Went for my birthday dinner with my partner and the food, service, everything was 10/10 absolutely would recommend.

Decided to go out for lunch late in the day. Nice décor and a typical Italian in terms of menu and drinks. The service was good and friendly and the menu very extensive. They had a Sunday offering as well. Food was good if a little to much in terms of portion size. Good wine selection.

Son's special birthday dinner. All staff good humoured, attentive and professional. Cake arrived on time. We all enjoyed the food and were never rushed. Lovely decor and tables well spaced out.

Had a fantastic night here for a family birthday meal. There was 9 of us at our table and from the moment we walked in the staff couldnt have been anymore attentive and professional. The restaurant was jam packed so the staff must have been under alot of pressure but from what we seen the place never skipped a beat. Like to add that the lights, decor, ambience, atmosphere and even the smell of the food added that extra special feel to our night. Thanks for having our balloons all set out and for also bringing out the birthday cake and singing (slighly embarrassed but funny) The car park was full when we got there so no spaces but wasnt a problem as there is a public car park right next to the place and its about a 30 second walk to get to restaurant. Lastly, it was also nice to see the owner being hands on, you dont see much of that in restaurants these days…….hope to see you guys again, thank you

Went here for a birthday celebration. I have to say I am writing this review based on my 3 rd visit in the the past month. Food was lovely drinks quality was also great, the only thing I’d say lets this place down badly is the lack of staff. Never had any problems with the staff they were nice and polite and any requests were met, it is not here fault . I had to get up from my table about 5 times to go and find someone to ask for things like for example - our wine had been brought to the table not opened and needed a cork screw . No glasses had been brought with it it had been out in the table and left. They had forgot one of our cocktails I had to go to the bar and remind them twice by time she got it we were finished . I could go on but I’m not going to bore you with little details of things you would expect as normal service from a place of this standard which they are clearly trying hard to maintain. The bar area outside was worse absolutely lovely place . But with every seat inside and outside taken, lots iff cocktails being ordered and only two staff on. the young guy looked like it was his first day. The service was terrible I had to clear our table 4 times with trays of empty glasses and coffee cups etc . It’s not the staff fault and I can’t complain about any of them,they were just run off their feet and clearly a major lack of them. It was the same the past two visits so this has not improved in the past month. We left and went somewhere else and that was not our original intention. So a bit disappointed .

Here on a girls night and we had Jonathan as a server and he was lovely! Very attentive and always happy!! Great night will be back x

Lovely restaurant with nice staff and good food

Last minute visit on Saturday night. They squeezed us in. Great service, great food and lovely atmosphere. Although we had been squeezed in we didn't feel stressed or rushed.

It’s a good location opposite the town hall. We had risotto and pizza calzone (with Italian meats). The risotto was very good, calzone a little burned but cooked through. I enjoyed mine and partner theirs. With a couple of bottles of rose evening swimmingly.

The set lunch menu (Menu Del Giorno) was great value and the portion size was ideal. The A La Carte menu looks fab and I'll be trying the dishes on there next time.

On each visit the food has been extremely bland. I would say I haven't ever came across a restaurant, that scores so badly on taste. A table of 4, we had macaroni cheese, (which got a thumbs up from recipient), but the roast dinner and tomato risotto was bland beyond belief. Felt like i was eating a plate of rice with no flavour. Taste has lacked on every visit. Service is also substandard. As a member we were asked 4 times for a drinks order, when we should have been served our complimentary prosecco. Kind of defeats the purpose of being a member with perks, when you're constantly having to remind the staff. After 3 attempts now we have to admit defeat and we defo won't be back. This place has the potential to be extra special, but falls short on so many areas. The food feels and tastes cheap. We questioned whether or not the ingredients had been microwaved. If you are questioning this, it's a red flag. Unfortunately Rocca after 3 goes it's a resounding NO from us.

The food was beautiful, well presented, tasted amazing. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and really couldn’t do enough. The decor is lovely and was a great atmosphere. I can’t wait to return!

We had been recommended to go to Rocca as the food was exceptional, and on arrival we could see it was busy. All pointing to positives and we were very excited to be seated and get stuck into the food. Service was slow from the get go. Nearly 15 mins to have a drinks order taken followed up by an additional 10 mins wait on food order being taken. When the food arrived it was great although that was down to a particularly attentive young waitress who is exempt from the issues in this review. Once our meals we were finished, we contemplated ordering after dinner cocktails. At this point a manager told us no you are getting the bill as we need the table back. We were astounded at this attitude given the fact only one person in our party had a starter which was mixed olives. Had we all got starters would we also have been told that we couldn't then get desserts ?? . He, Jimmy i think his name was, never offered a table outside just placed the bill down and left. When the waitress came with the card machine she asked if everything was ok at which point we said we were disappointed in this mans attitude and customer service. She was very apologetic and at this point some fellow diners were also making the same observations about this man. If you are too busy to deal with a "rush" of diners on a Saturday evening maybe you should limit the amount of reservations as we did see one couple having a table placed directly in front of the fire exit which im sure is against health and safety guidelines ? Would be reluctant to return to Rocca, especially if this gentleman was on which is a pity because the food was good, the overall review of average takes this and the gents actions into consideration. Happy to discuss with an owner if they wish.

We walked from the Travelodge to Rocca Ristorante about half a mile away through the town for our evening meal Welcoming staff in this busy Italian restaurant with a warm Italian ambience The food is imaginative, we had for starters Haggis Stuffed Mushrooms (Rocca Fungi Farciti) and Goat’s Cheese stuffed with Parma Ham (Pecorino al Forno), and for mains Lasagne and Festa do Carne pizza. Outstanding food, good quantities and friendly caring staff. All for £46 plus wine

First visit but will definitely be back. Great Pizza!!!!!

Party of 12. Was well looked after but Reception, really, for such a special occasion was quite sharp, impatient & certainly not inviting to guests. Maybe a bad day. Been several times & this was an unfortunate experience. Not put off because food is good but if same manner again on arrival it will b the last visit.

First time at Roccas and rest assure we will be back! The portions of the food were big! Had starters, mains and desserts. Next time I'll be trying the cocktails for sure as there is a wide variety in their alcoholic drinks aswell as the cocktails. The sundae of the day was delicious - Biscoff! Great service - helpful staff, also letting us know that there is a side entrance for future as we had a pram so it was all on the one level. As I said, definitely coming back!

What a beautiful restaurant, with relaxing décor. Staff were very efficient and courteous. We got there and happily were able to get a table for two. However, I'd recommend making a reservation as there was a steady stream of people arriving. I look forward to returning here.

First time at Rocca and it was lovely. Very reasonably priced and had a great selection of dishes. There was a set Sunday menu which was good value but we opted for the a la carte menu. We had starters, mains, cocktails and a few alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and still found it very well priced. Sadly had no room for desserts as the portions were pretty big but the dessert selection also looked amazing. Highly recommend but would advise to book in advance, we visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy but this didn't impact service or the time taken for each course to be served.

I don’t know where to start with this. From the minute we walked in the door, following our very small wedding over in the Town House, the service was outstanding. The waiter was brilliant; attentive, friendly and helpful. Everything about the place was great. The food was delicious and enjoyed by all and the place was spotless. It turned out to be the absolute best choice for our meal afterwards and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone considering doing the same. Thanks Rocca. You guys rounded off a perfect day.

We went for the Sunday lunch offer and had a lovely time. Food was very filling and a good deal for the Sunday lunch.

If you want to be served drinks, avoid sitting outside. On arrival, we asked at the front desk if outside had table service for drinks and were assured that although they were busy, someone we be with us soon to take our order. We then sat outside and watched the waiter (who was at the front desk when we enquired re table service) first chat with what appeared to be friends, before serving 4 other customers who arrived after us, then returning to chat with friends. Poor service - won't be returning unfortunately.

Starter was lovely, downhill after that, waited ages for our main meal. Mostly everyone who came in after us got served first. Food came it was lukewarm also forgotten our chips, tried to get waitress attention couldn’t care less. Once we finished told the waitress they had forgotten our chips - no apology nothing.
