We go to the Riviera Restaurant at least once a month, sometimes much more. The food standard never drops. They put new dishes on, now and again, and there is always the special board. The staff work really hard, and are always so friendly. We had to wait outside the other week, as they were so busy, but only for a short while. It is a bit hectic when busy, so not a romantic place to take your lady, but if you did,she would like her meal.

Recommended to us by a local and we all enjoyed our meals. Good size portions which make it very good value. Vegan options available - my daughter tried the cashew paella which she enjoyed and gets the added bonus of the salad bar followed by the frangipane tart. My husband was very happy with his steak & kidney pie and opted for the roast potatoes and vegetables from the carvery roast. People who chose the carvery option were piling their plates high! And I enjoyed a fresh crab salad again with option of adding anything extra from the salad bar. We also had drinks and coffees and the bill was £50 for all 3 of us.

The Three Horseshoes

30/09/2018: A 21st birthday celebration for 7 on a very busy Sunday lunch time; lots of families and groups all enjoying a great pub in a great location. Delicious food, served just right; friendly efficient staff coping well on a busy day. Memorable 21st birthday - many thanks.
17/11/2018: Very nice find. Beautiful setting. Lovely pub/maybe a house back on Tudor times. Chickens. Bunting flags. Outside privy. Crackling fire. Food to die for. Will definitely go back. Loved it.

Billy's on the Beach

01/11/2018: We've been to Billy's a few times now and can thoroughly recommend it. Whether it's the daily specials (tasty dover sole on a recent visit, served with some very fine new potatoes) or one of the standards such as their great fish and chips or fish cakes, the food is good, honest, and fairly priced - in fact, excellent value. Breakfasts too are good. Service is very good, everyone's friendly, the view is tremendous, it's always busy and thus has atmosphere. The wine list may be short but still produces good bottles. What's not to like? This is very much a hidden gem, as someone else suggested and I am close to suggesting it should have a fifth star...
01/01/2019: Great position on the beach and serving fantastic breakfast food. Full english breakfast historic , advocados on toast with poached eggs very good, and also kippers good . Nice friendly staff and decent prices. Highly recommended and you must book for lunch at busy times
