Riverside Garden Centre and Cafe in Bristol, City of

I'm a many house plant owner and this is by far and away rhe best place near me for house plants. Unusual ones, well looked after before purchase. Knowledgeable staff, not overly priced

Riverside Garden Centre in Southville, Bristol, offers an impressive range of plants, shrubs and associated items. Everything was well displayed and cared for - the whole operation had an upmarket feel. There was plenty of car parking. It is a convenient location being so close to the city centre. Update - Just visited again and still inspirational, even though it's the middle of winter.

Only had a hot drink in the cafe, too cold to have a look around and very chilly in the cafe but it was a freezing day - have visited in the past it's a fabulous garden centre 😀 staff were great and they take cash !!!

Just visited again, really nice selection friendly staff. Didn't use the cafe this time but have done in the past and have had nice snacks. Bought a great plant and pot. The lady on the checkout till was very friendly and helpful. Not as big as some centres but very friendly with great plants and lovely selection of indoor plants and pots.

I like this garden centre because it’s close to city centre, easy access to. It’s not big but you can find anything you need in garden. Especially for the cafe, sit outdoors and relax. I tried Chai Latte, seems too sweet for me, I will order normal coffee next time.

I enjoyed this Garden center. An out of town experience in the town. The site is well stocked and the plants are well presented and cared for as living produce rather than bulk stacked and racked until they die. Prices competative and a pleasant Cafe with equal care for humans spacing... So it's sad I can't afford to go there anymore as it is now within the CAV zone. My smelly diesal ( for which there is adequate free parking ) would cost £9 and the bus is £5 there and back again. A dissapointment for me. I hope they thrive with a flurry of Tesla drivers.

Lovely little garden centre near the centre of Bristol.

I travel past a very large Garden Centre to come to Riverside i enjoy it so much. Its small but has an enormous stock of always interesting plants and of course as others have mentioned a lovely little cafe. Lots of cakes and coffees , not much hot food but if you want a big meal go to the huge corporate GC i pass by to get to this very friendly and welcoming centre

Lovely garden centre: plants are nicely laid out and organised. Nice little cafe too, but the coffee's a bit too expensive.

A good city location for a garden centre - with excellent advice on what grows well where. The focus here is on plants and trees, unlike some garden centres that focus on anything but plants. There is a cafe with toilets, as well as a children's play area. Parking is easy and free and there are flat bed trollies to help load your car with the heavier items.

Very good garden centre in the centre of Bristol. Large supply of house and garden plants at a reasonable price. Plus the typical products stock in a garden centre. Nice cafe, with good food. Also offers delivery to the Bristol area. A all round good stop. No complaints.

The staff are fantastic and the range of plants very good. Any plants I've ever bought have been of very good quality. Staff are only too happy to help; I've asked advice regarding plants, pots and compost and they've always been knowledgeable and friendly. In my last visit, I must have asked seven questions about the bird seed and they were still happy to help. They have a good range of award-winning species and genuinely seem to care about their subject.

Mainly went for a snack at the cafe. It was a good choice. Very nice coffee and cake as well. The chap who served us was very good. Really enjoyed wandering around the garden centre as well and the playground was very popular with the children.

Great nursery in the heart of bristol, great range of plants

I had some questions and thought staff would be pleased to help. I didn't appreciate being stared at in disbelief when I asked what I thought was a reasonable question. We are not all knowledgeable about everything. I thought that was part of their job. Internet search supported my view that it was a reasonable question and the answer was different. I am unlikely to go again. Other places are more polite.

The plants here look so healthy and they display them beautifully, which makes you want to buy them. Coffees great and a lovely range of cakes etc.

Good range but undeniably expensive... Plant pots on offer often means a nice find, but the plants I think are all... famous plants maybe? Or... owned by famous people? Either way - really expensive for foliage. Staff are always friendly. Dogs are welcome.

I have been here before throughout the years and watched the place evolve. Easy and convenient. Has its own carpark, cafe, toilets children's play area. This Garden Centre has a big variety of healthy plants, herbs and seeds often not found elsewhere. Definitely worth a visit. Cafe is well worth a lookin.. vegans and vegetarian foods..choice of naughty cakes and great coffees with variety of teas to choose. We sat outside in sunshine with the dog.

We haven't been for a while, due to personal reasons - still as wonderful as ever - the cafe is lovely, the centre beautiful and the staff as exceptional as always. Highly recommend.

Good sized garden centre for the location , plenty of variety in the plants and all the usual garden tools etc , cafe looked OK but we didn't get anything , car park is quite spacious with easy access 👍

Very good range of both plants and seeds. Lots of garden tools and equipment, Cafe has a good range of food and drinks. Fair number of healthy options. Gluten-free bread is available for toast and bread dishes.

Very good. Though beware of really awkward trolleys. Car park spaces on the tight side.

A good choice of plants at all levels. All products were well presented and healthy. Love visiting this garden centre. Once again, well presented stock. We bought herbs and tomato plants, which all look healthy. However please note, hay-fever and garden centres don't mix. Apologies to anyone who saw my sniffing and nose blowing :)

I didn't know this garden centre existed so close to Bristol city centre. It's tucked away and if you blink, you'd miss the turn off to it. The staff are friendly and the selection of plants is really good for the size of the garden centre. They also sell a wide selection of pots and other paraphernalia, although some of it can be a little overpriced. I'll definitely be visiting again, now that I know where it is!

It is a lovely place for take you granny's there.quiet spacious full of lovely and amazing different kinds of flowers,Birthday luxurious cards for birthdays presents.

We stopped at the café within the Garden Centre and it is well worth a review. It was a sunny day so we ate outside and the kids got to play on and off in the small play park. The food was simply delicious and value for money. A mix of hearty homemade dishes along more convenient options (great for the kids). Service was impeccable and very friendly. TL;DR - highly recommended for parents with young children. Great food. Convenient location. Amazing service.

The cafe is small and cosy, love their courgette and lime and pistachio cake!

Came with a friend for a coffee. Also had really nice cake. While there could not resist buying a daffodil plant to make me think of spring.

The staff know their stuff and are available to offer detailed and expert advice.

My wife and I regular visit for morning tea,coffee and Toasted Tea cake/s, great atmosphere and lovely staff. Would be nice if they introduced a loyalty card for drinks etc.

Fantastic Garden centre situated next to the river. Options to browse both inside and outside ranges of garden and house wares. Cafe serves very tasty and well sourced food.

We headed here around 3pm for coffee and cake. A gloriously sunny autumn day so we were able to enjoy the sunshine whilst eating and catching up, sitting in the outside space adjacent to all the beautiful plants for sale. Superb service and super yummy cakes

You cannot find a better garden centre in the land. The enormous range of plants of all my kinds is unmatched in the land,and they stock all those rare and hard to find varieties and cultivars that in the past you had to track down in obscure remote cottage businesses. As for the staff they are paragons of charm and kindness.

Loved this place! You can find absolutely anything! Didn’t get the answers to my questions from staff. One said to Google it when I asked how to look after my new plant. Lol

Love the variety of plants. The cafe has some lovely cakes and a very nice coffee. Staff in garden centre( except for the guy that loves to sing and sings very well) do seem to not be so friendly.
