Even after all these years, it’s still hard to beat The Riverside Chinese Restaurant Omagh. Their dishes never disappoint & the quality of produces are always of such high quality & standards. Just so amazing how Peter & All His Staff are able to keep such high standards, year on year. Thanks so much Peter keep doing what you are all doing, & have been for so many years.

On route to Omagh, I searched sat nav for restaurants. Selecting here I was not disappointed. Parking at the front of the building is restricted however a huge open car park at the back. Surprised that on a Monday evening it was open the owner mentioned that they are open 7 days a week. Order was taken and food arrived very quickly and as requested. Have to say it was tasty and hot. Would call again if in the area.

The banquet dinner for two was overcooked and tastless. The platter of starters were and deep fried greasy and rock hard. The soup was OK but we had to wait quite a while for it to arrive. The schezhuan vegetables were gloomy with no taste of schezhuan! Save your money and don't go.

Regardless of the dish or meat product the food was totally bland. We had a takeaway. With six different dishes including rice and noodles. Exceptionally tasteless food. I have tooted better Chinese food at home.

I visit when in the area. Never had bad food here. If busy yes there can be serving hiccups. Boss man is typical Chinese and not cheeky as some say. It is just his way. My fav starter is prawn cocktail. Cold and refreshing and good portion Love it. For mains I usually have sizzling Cantonese prawns or beef. Really nice sauce and the fried rice is light and non greasy. After an Irish coffee goes down well. Staff are generally helpful and place is clean. Prices are a lot lower than elsewhere for good food. I fully recommend it and I eat all over Northern Ireland. Try it.

Back again 2, months later. If I'm in the area I go out of my way to eat here. Monday night meal, so very quiet. Had prawn cocktail starter. Was even better than before. Lots of prawns and salad and nice and chilled. For mains I got sizzling king prawns in Cantonese style and fried rice Absolutely beautiful again. Plenty of prawns and veg and lovely light rice. I finished off with an Irish coffee. It was great. Because it was quiet I had a personal waitress who made the coffee and was super attentive. I had two small ciders to wash down At £31.00 it was fair for all. And I will be back and recommended to it wholeheartedly.

DONT GO!!! The atmosphere and food was awful. The decor is out dated and daggy, just like the food. Asked for the noodles to be heated as they came out cold and the girl microwaved the bowl. Food was bland and sad looking. Save yourself the money and dont get it.

Totally discussed waiter servicing our food mixed everyone's up.then she spilled food on our daughter's hand and clothes. Never even offered her ice or anything for the burn.when I spoke to the manager he sayed he would look at his camera's and get back to me,which am still waiting.will never be back in it again,need a good revamp.

Back again for a flying visit to Omagh and had a look in at the other Chinese sit on but was not impressed with their menu and prices. So back here to my favourite. Let me explain my experience of Chinese owners is off efficiency and speed. People here think it is rude or arrogant but it is just their way and no harm or offence made. Now I thought I would get something different this time but again I stuck to my favourite starter and main. I ordered a small cider and it came quickly, but the second order of same never came. So I decided against it anyway. My prawn cocktail starter came in a bowl full of ingredients. The lettuce is wet and leaves moisture in bowl. But the prawns, lemon, cucumber, tomato in a Marie rose sauce are so good and I drank the liquid which was nice. This time again I ordered a sizzling dish but with sea food this time. It had king prawns, mussels and I think squid and something else I could not name. Carrot, onion, peppers in a beautiful Cantonese sauce sizzling on hot skillet. The fried rice is light and delicate and seems to have a nice yellow colouring and is non greasy. Delicious. A coffee with cream was my final dish. Food is tasty and plentiful. At £23.50 it was an extreme bargain. I overlooked a few small problems, like no napkins forgetting second drink, etc. But for value, flavour and selection I gave it five.

The owner is very arrogant and discriminatory towards their staff and customers. The restaurant should be shut down immediately as the owner should not be there as he causes too much trouble. or the owner should be sacked. Food was ok ask for a takeaway box and was charged 50p for it so think that was a bit much so because of that not be back think they got plenty for food on bill

Restaurant like a cafe, too bright, no candles on table, handed cutlery, not set, ordered egg fried rice, came pilau, food ok, not great, bland, nothing special for a Saturday night treat. Nothing authentic in serving or restaurant . Used to be excellent, standards dropped in food and atmosphere.

The stairs are a challenge for me with bad knees. The Chinese owners are abrupt and can be taken as cheeky but that is their trait. They made a fuss of getting phone contact details with my two friends. The two staff upstairs, one a young local girl and the other a painted older lady were terrible. First off I said I wanted my bill separate. They maid such a fuss and told us they do not do that. Then they came back and asked us to count our bill separate. I ordered first as I knew that I wanted prawn cocktail and a sizzling beef Cantonese style. The older lady had not a clue and I told her what veg I wanted in the sauce. Which came missing some. My friends were undecided what to order and as I was advising them the older lady kept butting in and giving inaccurate advice. Eventually I said just cook and bring mine first. Forty minutes later no food and we complained two times. They blamed the separate bill as the reason saying it was put down as two different tables. I asked how that would slow cooking. The young girl came with another jumbled non sensical excuse. Then the painted lady came bumping into the chair with obviously bad eye sight and said it was all her fault. My prawn cocktail came only and was large and fine but the other starters were ten minutes later after more complaints. The bbq ribs were large without garnish despite the lady saying they are only small. Chicken noodle soup was extra watery. My sizzling beef was not as sizzling as usual and lacked mushroom which I asked for but it was tasty. Ten minutes later my friends chicken Mary land and duck curry arrived. They both seemed good.The portion sizes were good. When we went to pay the bills were separate after all the fuss and quite reasonable. Pity about the staff but we will go back soon.

Eating here for a while, was mediocre but last night we ordered and it was absolutely disgusting, food was sour, Kids had already ate before I did, and smelt the sourness of the dishes and binned them, kids vomiting through the night, rang and complained and was told they'd let the kitchen know, a pure disgrace, NEVER AGAIN 🤮🤮🤬

Just had a delivered take away from Riverside. It was delicious. Hugh portion and good value. We had beef chow mein. Will be ordering again. Delivery was excellent and before time. Thank you.

The young girl who served us was amazing. As I requested GF she definitely made my experience most enjoyable and she was so helpful in making sure food was suitable for me. Also her personality just shone through.

Food was amazing tonight and the two members of staff looking after us upstairs friendly and attentive. Big thanks to the girl who chased up the street after us with a bag we left behind, first class!

Went here this evening at 5.10 for family meal. Nobody but us in the restaurant. 3 young members of staff who spent more time talking and eating the mints out of the bowl, starters at 5.40, followed by the main course at 6.35 never in my life had service so bad in an empty restaurant,had to ask twice for table to be cleared, 20mins for a jug of juice for the table We now know why it was empty. On way out the take aways were flying out the door.clearly they have no respect nor seem to want sit in customers.wont be over this door again.

Entered place. Staff were very nice and attentive. Manager of restaurant was very rude to my partner Who has physical difficulties “Mask, up now”. However the food was lovely and there was two lovely girls upstairs serving us.

Had a takeaway meal for my birthday and again The Riverside didn't disappoint. Great value for money and fab food. I had sweet n sour chicken balls and 1/2 noodles and 1/2 boiled rice. All to die for.

First time in Ireland, came across this Restaurant and ordered a takeaway. I ordered a Singapore noodles, wonton soup, boiled rice and beef and black bean sauce. Wonton soup was refreshing, you can taste the prawns with a bouncy/crunch in every bite. Singapore noodles were very tasty, plenty of spice with nice flavour. The beef was lovely and soft cooked perfectly with enough chilli, fragrant black bean aroma. The boiled rice was also cooked perfectly, individual grains of rice just enough stickiness and pleasant rice aroma. Highly recommended this restaurant, it is definitely not your average chinese takeaway, price of meal is reflected in the quality. Would happily return for another meal.

Was back in area and looking forward to another feed. I ordered same meal. Prawn cocktail starter. Very nice small prawns/shrimps in a tangy if thin sauce on a bed of lettuce. Good portion. For main sizzling plate of cantonese beef with boiled rice. Tasty as usual and sizzling. Good portion. Good boiled rice,not stodgy. All in all pleasant and superb. Will go back. Highly recommended.

Ordered the salted chille chicken and chicken in honey white wine sauce had to baste the salted chicken in the neon sauce for a while before it became edible expected a few vegetables with it as well possibly a 1/5 of a white onion on top

The food really was excellent, I highly recommend the scallops with ginger and spring onion.

Open at this covid time is a bonus. Bit of a climb up stairs with my bad knees. But nice big restaurant. Very helpful staff so far. Free prawn crackers. Ordered prawn cocktail. Came in reasonable time. Nice tangy cocktail with fried rice next. Warm plates great. Really hot temperature sizzling Cantonese beef just as it should be. Tender and delicious.Nice spicy peppery kick of sauce. Yellow rice good. Milky coffee at £1.60,if I can attract waitress as it is getting busy.A full pot arrived. So full up and sweating now,but enjoyable experience overall. Excellent staff. Overall bill with glass of wine £21.90. Good for 3 courses.

The food we found was delicious and will rival anything to be had in London’s ChinaTown. Ok ... it wouldn’t be the same as you get in the Jumbo Kingdom Floating Restaurant in Hong Kong .... but it’s adapted to the local palate ( ie chips with everything ) and local wallet . It’s our “ GO TO “ for Chinese Take Away . Well done Riverside .

Loved the takeaway of this place so fancied a meal so went down for a sit in. Got inside and was greeted with a takeaway menu. Fair enough I thought and ordered away. Food was a bit meh and the chicken was comically rubbery. Went downstairs after the meal to be greeted with a bill £10 over what the menu said. Shoulda only been £25ish. Only after did I enjoy a third of a meal and was ready to leave did the restaurant want to alert me that the prices on the 'current' menu were not the actual prices and we'd been charged restaurant prices. Ended up walking away, leaving £25 cash on the table and a very shouty owner screaming 'I know who you are!!!'

Very rude manager, no regard whatsoever for dietary requirements or allergies. Threw food back at me when I pointed out there was meat through the vegetarian dish. He took it out back and returned 2 minutes later having clearly poked the meat out. Never ever again

Myself and my family have ordered takeaways a few times from here, iv run into a few problems with getting orders wrong, then when you ring to get the order right I find the owner can be rude and obnoxious to the point of arguing with you down the phone, even when they've made a mistake.... for example tonight they got the sauce wrong, I rang to see about getting it rectified, he was just going to replace sauce I pointed out by the time sauce comes out the rest of my meal will be cold... his reply "what do you want me to do about it... well replace all.."fine give me everything back"... he himself landed out with food no apology infact told me to keep my chicken balls... lol.

Staff don't always understand what it is you want to order and so you may get the wrong dish

£1 for a pint of blackcurrant and water. Chicken that was pure fat. Disgusting. Manager/Owner so ignorant. Don’t go here if your looking for a chinese meal.

Nice Chinese restaurant in Omagh with good service and very clean appearance in the restaurant. Food was only average though with not much to recomend it.

Pros - Has good food. Cons - can be very slow at times, they get orders wrong from time to time, the owner can be ignorant (not always)

Just awful salted chillie chicken was over cooked and hard totally dried out noodles where over cooked . Very disappointing

Had the most unpleasant experience in this restaurant. Went to get some food with my girlfriend, brother and his wife we were given great service by the waitress at first who we ordered our food and drinks with. Midway during the wait for our food. A man who seemed to be the owner started shouting and giving off at the very waitress who served us our drinks in front of us and other customers, who didn't look too pleased about it. The girl started crying and he still kept questioning her. It probably lasted about 5 minutes. We could not stand his shouts anymore so decided to leave telling him we will not be eating in a place where workers are treated like that. He said 'ok , you can go , but pay for your drinks ' and followed us to the till to make sure we paid. Where we had no intention in not paid. Finally I also found out that the workers are on 5.50 ph cash in hand and the wee girl definitely did not deserve taking all this for that money. Will defeniatley not be going back! It seems like a workers camp not a restaurant.

I don't usually leave 1 star reviews , but when you cant even cook chips properly you should maybe rethink about your occupation ,,, your salted chilli chicken was hard to eat overcooked and dry , The cheese and chicken rolls has onions in them to ,before i ordered them i asked and was told no onions was put in them , Be careful ordering from here if you have an allergy because the staff does'nt know what is in the dishes , If you want a good takeaway try ruby palace ,pity they were closed today ffs :)

Amazing crispy shredded beef. Had the sauce swooped to Cantonese no problems. Also the sizzling seafood dish was really tasty. Great service. Lovely sit-in meal A++

I phoned this restaurant to make an order to be delivered. I was told it would be 20 minutes. 50 minutes later I rang again to be told that I would get it shortly. 15 minutes later I phoned again to be told that it wasn’t even cooked yet. This isn’t the first time that this has happened. I don’t mind waiting but hate being told lies.

The best Chinese restaurant in Northern Ireland

I was a member of staff in this place and from that days ill never get back to this place, why? Reason are so simple, i see what they serve to the customers and i will never be one of them

Went with a friend and was unable to get our order took. Eventually when they took our order my friends order was missing chips. We asked for chips and there was no apology and the manager approached us asking what we ordered and was very rude. Other tables were not being seen to for over 10 mins even tho there was no one else besides us in the restaurant. When we paid for our food we had 2 different prices even tho we had ordered the same meal?

Food was barely alright, some of the most basic bland Chinese food I've ever had, nice staff though.

Got a takeaway here tonight and it was absolutely disgusting chicken was so dry and over cooked. What you serve to your customers I wouldn't serve to my dog!!

Looks nice but was quite cold, four of us ordered, one is gluten free, brought us down prawn crackers first as we were waiting a while but took them away when we noticed a long hair it them, n never brought us anymore down our meals came I ordered teriyaki chicken didn't taste or look like teriyaki, was quite blank, the other dishes were better, service wasn't great as when dishes were cleared, we sat waiting to get dessert menu , but no-one cane to offer one so we left

Food nice but a bit expensive staff helpful

No one likes being conned when you order a meal and something completely different arrives and you're told that at times "we have to change things to accommodate the local requirements". There is a lack of Chinese character and decor which could be overlooked if the food was of a good standard, but when I ordered chicken kung po and was presented with sliced chicken which looked to be cut from a formed roll, smothered with large chunks of onion and something like sweet and sour sauce, then they have to be taking the piss! They did offer to rectify this by taking the dish back to the kitchen and returned it with a few slices of chili on top, and hopefully nothing I didn't know about, but by that time I had lost my apatite. There was no offer to reduce the bill or try to make amends, and I can safely say that I will never be back under the present ownership.

It was bland and featureless like it's food.After sampling a flat, weak and tasteless Chinese beer I ordered a chicken kung po, and was presented with what looked like slices of chicken cut from a formed roll smothered in large chunks of onion and something like a sweet and sour sauce. I was told that it was definitely a chicken kung po but sometimes they have to make changes to cater for the local tastes and requirements. This was almost harder to swallow than the meal itself! It was taken back to the kitchen and returned with a few slices of chili pepper and hopefully nothing else I didn't know about. By this time I had lost my apatite and there wasn't even an offer to make amends when it came to paying the bill. Never again.

At 9pm on a lacklustre, calm Saturday night I decided it would be worth while for my 7 children(all gamers) and I to reward our selves with a wee ole Chinese so I decided to call Riverside hoping for some Pizza. What I got was nothing of the sort I tell you now. I called and ordered a ham, pineapple and pepperoni pizza and was promptly but surely met with "NAW U CAN F3CKIN NOT" to every request then and hence after, when asked for a diner that would provide me and my family with some decent service and fortnite burgers they simply hung up and that was that!!!

Last night I was deeply disappointed with the customer service & rudeness we received from this restaurant! I placed a takeaway order, ordering the same dish I always ask for. And as we live more than a 10 minute drive away collecting in person was our only option. So you can imagine after spending almost 30mins round trip to collect my food how disappointed I was to discover they had gave me completely the wrong food. I rang the restaurant and explained, I said nothing to the fact I could hear the girl saying in the back ground these people ordered something but now they’ve changed their minds and want us to make up a different dish But after a lot of discussion the girl said oh yes we’ll make up your order again & deliver it too you but don’t open the food you have as we need it back. So we waited, then after 15mins (about 35mins from we collected the food) she rang back and said we decided we have no time & we can’t deliver the food to you now! We then rang back and spoke to the owner but we might just have saved our breath as he was rude & obviously thinks nothing of his customers!! Needless to say after wasting £20 as the food went in the bin, we will never order food from there again, take my advice and if you do check all the items before you leave the restaurant!!

I've tried them all and Riverside is simply the best chinese in the town. The staff are friendly and the food is plentiful and tasty. Delivery can be a little slow but I guess thats down to its popularity which proves it must be good.

The noodles were super noodles, we could see the packets from where we were sitting in the kitchen. Chicken was definitely from cans. Went to the bathroom and feces was smeared over the mirror. Although on a positive note authentic Chinese vibes (foreign staff).

Food is very good good here. Sometimes it can be a bit of a wait but that's a very rare occasion (Chinese New year for example) but even if you are waiting staff will making your waiting comfortable. staff are very welcoming and accommodating will try their best to fulfil your needs

table wasn't clean when we arrived, glass also broke very easily in my hands. staff member was rude. she angrily took our order, got our order wrong, my friend ordered satay sauce on his chicken balls special and when it arrived it had curry sauce on it, waitress was reluctant to change it for him despite him ordered satay sauce very clearly. the waitress returned with a dish that contained satay sauce, slammed it down infront of him, some of the sauce was hard, it had clearly been sitting for a while, or been microwaved. my other friends dish was the same, the curry sauce had clearly been sitting there for a good amount of time.

We visited the Riverside last week I was delighted at the quality of the food and the service This restaurant has improved greatly It has a lovely makeover The service is excellent I would suggest you try the banquets They are lovely If you did not have a nice experience here Do take another look and you will be amazed at the service and the food

The food was vile dry and over cooked with hair still visible on the chicken. The customer service was non existent . The sauce was out of a bottle a Heinz tomato sauce bottle to be precise.

This Chinese used to be very good but in the last while the quality of their deliverys have been sketchy. Sauces can be questionable and temperature of food on arrrival is certainly under warm. Even though I called and explained this to the resturant and was promised a call from the manager, this never happened. Don't other takeaway at weekends as I feel food is fired out quickly and not of high quality. Customer service is very poor.
