Rincon de Pepe in Worthing

I live in Brighton and went to Worthing specifically to try this restaurant that was recommended to me by a Spanish friend. I must say it exceeded our expectations and is now one of our favourites. There were 8 of us so we pretty much ordered the whole menu. We loved every single one of the dishes. Boquerones, Octopus, Prawns, tortilla, croquettes, beef stew, Manchego chicken, deep fried balls of black pudding…😉 We are a bunch of foodies from different countries and we are normally quite hard to please ( Italian-Spanish-Argentine and English) but we all agreed it was excellent and went back three times since. There isn’t a decent Spanish restaurant in Brighton so if you love Spanish food go and try it out. You will be chuffed you did!

Everything about this restaurant is amazing & beautiful!!!

We visited early Saturday evening. We had booked a table online and as we had not been before we did not know what to expect. When we arrived the restaurant looked quite small. However, we were greeted and led through to a back room (with a wood burner) that had a further 20 or 30 seats. We shared a lovely paella and will be returning when the opportunity arises. A hidden gem.

Lovely family meal. 8 of us. Service quick and friendly. Food delicious. Waiter even took the phot for us.

Visited here for a family birthday! A few people in the group hadn't had tapas before but the menus were really helpful demonstrating the idea. The servers were really helpful, nice and friendly. The food was really good, no complaints there. Would recommend and come back to again!

New favourite! Our first date (pesky kids needing baby-sat...) in God knows how long and it was a beautiful atmosphere (the decor is homely and traditional- then added with great music and friendly service) the host was so kind. Food was amazing and very generous tapas portions. On reflection it's a restaurant we could bring even the pickiest of our little ones to. Brilliant value for money, very traditional and the ordering system is so clever. You get these little tick lists essentially of what you want to order thus avoiding any embarrassment at our poor pronunciation of their wonderful dishes. Would recommend to anyone, fabulous hidden gem xx

Service 10/10 but food was awful. Very bland and actually over salted. Prawns in garlic had no taste and we weren’t sure if it was raw or not. Ham cheese croquettes tasted and looked like they had been bought out of Iceland, super fry texture inside. Bread was fresh and cannot fault. Accompanying tomato sauce had zero flavour. It is sad to write this about the food because the service was great.

Amazing service, they managed to fit us in as a table of 10 with short notice. Staff were attentive and very friendly, making sure we had everything we needed and the food was incredible!

Lovely friendly welcome. Don’t let the outside fool you. Once seated we had exceptional service, options were clearly explained. We went for give tapas between two of us. Food served piping hot, good portions and we were stuffed at the end. However, we still managed to squeeze in a desert. Seriously impressive. We will be back. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Glass of wine::8.50 London prices?? Service charge for two refuses to pay mushrooms that were very much like tinned ones . Poor quality over priced.

Went for lunch on the 12/04/2023 the food was superb and the waitress was wonderful, will definitely visit again.

Ordered through just eat and was told but the restaurant I need to call just eat as my order is sitting getting cold, told them I cannot call them as no number, was told it wasn’t there problem, disgusting attitude and will not use them again

Went out for my Son's birthday, arrived into a quaint restaurant. We were met by a lovely waitress who took us to our table and explained how to order which was novel. The service was spot on and well timed. The food was exceptional and the paella 🥘 was fantastic. Will definitely be returning in the year.

The food here is excellent but if you are on a tight budget, be warned that they added VAT to the prices on the menu.

Really good Spanish food and a nice service. The waiter resembles Fernando Tejero.

Disappointing and overpriced. Had great difficulty placing the order online, possibly because it was the first day they were open after Christmas. When we began our meal, some dishes appeared to have been reheated from frozen or chilled. Potatoes were soggy and grainy, not crispy. Portion sizes were inconsistent…some, like prawns were minute while others, like tortillas were huge. The veal cheeks were the best part of the meal.. tender, tasty and delicious. All the recent previous reviews were good, therefore we were expecting authentic freshly cooked food not the poor quality dishes we received.

From the front you would think it's a cafe but you must go inside it's very nice and spacious out the back seating area. The food was excellent as was the staff ,very helpful it was my first visit with friends and I will certainly be going back again.

Had a wonderful evening real Spanish tapas, all delicious, and generous portions. Lovely ambience. I'd particularly recommend for a group, so you can maximise choices and share! Strongly recommend this charming local place.

We had a family birthday celebration at Rincon de Pepe and the restaurant could not have been a better choice. A great atmosphere, attentive staff helpful with dietary requirements and lovely food all made a special evening!

Amazing. Family live locally and we decided to go whilst visiting the area. Cannot wait to go back. Very authentic Spanish cuisine cooked by the sweetest Spanish lady. Everything was beautiful and we couldn't fault a single thing. I personally really loved the veal cheeks. So unctuous. My partners favourite dish was the aubergine with walnuts and honey. A true 10/10.

A little bit of Spain here in Tarring. Wonderful selection of tasty traditional Spanish fayre and ample portions. Lovely helpful owners and servers made us very welcome for a large birthday celebration group. They provided prompt attentive service. We all thoroughly enjoyed our evening there for our son's special occasion and we could easily have been tucked away in a little corner somewhere in Spain 🇪🇸!

Ate at Rincón de Pepe Tapas Bar on Wednesday evening with a friend for my birthday. Hadn't been in years. It was packed and rightly so. Delicious, house red is excellent I'm told. Best meatballs ever.

Delicious authentic home cooked food. We fancied a bit of a smaller option for lunch and they whipped up a couple of options. Large portions. Just wish there were more people there to enjoy.

I came here for my birthday many years ago and I still remember how lovely all the staff were, and I got free cake! I came back recently and it was still just as amazing as before. The food is so good and delicious, and it comes really quickly too. The staff are really friendly. I strongly recommend this place :)

One of our favourite places to eat! Casual, cosy and always a warm welcome. Reasonably priced, tasty and so lovely having a 'taste of Spain' on our doorstep. Great for a last minute couple's booking when you can't think what to cook at home, or a group of friends out for an evening of fun. Couldn't recommend it enough!!

By chance this was the first place in Worthing we visited before we moved here, I next went with a friend when I was renovating the house, I took my daughter when she was 4 just for Boquerones and a sit down and finally went back with my partner. This over 7yrs. Although I'm sure many will miss Pepe, the restaurant continues in the family and with respect i loved all the new updates and energy at this local, well run, friendly authentic Spanish restaurant/cafe. Tarring is really lucky to have this in our area. Wish I could more often, I'd happily go every day for coffee and tortilla if I could! Recommend the Bombedillos de Morcin.

Good tapas, nice experience with good service. The place is a bit poky, we were at out the back basically outside next to a plastic wall. It was still fairly warm though

The food is absolutely delicious, the service excellent and the atmosphere vibrant (very noisy though, could do with a little acoustic damping so you can hear your friends' conversation and not everyone else's). Wine is excellent too. I will look forward to my next visit to try some of the other dishes!

Very tasty tapas food, a friendly host and a good atmosphere. They offer a good selection of dishes to suit most tastes; we went for 3 dishes each (which we then shared) and were suitably filled up by them. Recommended.

Lovely food, octopus and morcilla were particularly good. Not overly expensive, could've picked cheaper options and been happy, simple things like patatas aoili done really well. Only downside was beer selection, although cheap for a restaurant, one Spanish beer - San Miguel, for some reason they have Peroni & Stella. Would gladly pay more for imported stuff like Estrella Galicia or Mahou.

I really like this place! Just a 3 minute walk away for me, and have been many times for excellent food and atmosphere. In fact, you could easily imagine you are in Benidorm. Disfrute de su comida!

I lived in Spain for 6 years so am always apprehensive before eating in any tapas restaurant but I can honestly say it more than delivered. The pulpo a la gallery reminded me of being back in Vigo and it was only 1 of 16 dishes that delighted myself and my friends for our Xmas meal. Certainly one of the best places to eat in Worthing and I'll be taking people back when they visit to show off the available food where I live

Our first time here and it was truly amazing. 5 star service and the best Spanish tapas I’ve eaten for a very long time. Please go and try them and help these small businesses survive you will not be disappointed. Myself and all my family will be back many more times to come. Well done Rincon de Pepe you really made my Birthday. Easy 5 star review. Nothing was too much trouble and the food blew us all away.

Spent three weeks in Spain recently and the Tapas at Rincon de Pepe is as good if not better than some of the places in Spain. Friendly staff and excellent service. Would highly recommend.

What a surprise…such a lovely evening meal last night. Everything we ordered was really lush and clearly freshly made…the owner was so accommodating, I popped in during the day to check availability and after moving a couple of things around we was booked for a table for 2…the staff are polite, friendly and welcoming. A great value meal and we will certainly be returning…

Friendly, speedy service and delicious, authentic Spanish tapas. This restaurant is not in a prime location, but it is well worth a visit.
