We have used this place in the past and to be honest this was the first delivery in a while,staff did say it would be over 90 minutes before we got our delivery.We were expecting an amazing meal however we were presented with a bland tasteless cold,cold meals with a portion of chips that went straight to the bin due them being inedible hard and not fit for consumption.Well a lesson learnt from us.....maybe there is a reason on this occasion however other restaurants have upped the anti!!

My husband and I order regularly from The Richmond and are never disappointed but tonight they excelled themselves. My meal was outstanding. I asked for a slightly milder Szechuan chicken and it was excellent. It's got to be one of the Best Chinese meals I've had for a long time. Definitely won't be ordering from anywhere else. First class

picked up 2 meals for me and my wife,,very unhappy,,small portion sized plastic boxes &our 2 boiled rice boxes were just over half full,,think i"ll stick to punjabi tadka (indian )next door,,waste of money,,

We have been getting takeaways from the Richmond over the last few years, on a Saturday night, and have been very pleased with the quailty and flavour of our meals, and the service reveived.Regarding the last few takeaways, I can only say things have gone down hill fast, our starter of ribs, no meat on them, our chicken thighs and drumsticks, which is my favourite, was uneatable as to spicy, our main of chicken satay on skewers, chicken tough and no satay flavour, again usually very nice, our last two orders on collecting was short of rice first time, and chips second time, and on trying to phone to see if could be delivered, no chance as phoned 25 times, and still could not get through, and on mentioning on collection of next meal, no appoligae given or even checking our order we were picking up as we asked if everything there this time, to find once home item short.I know this is a very busy place for takeaways at week-ends, and when you arrive to pick up at a time they give you, still have to wait longer, and again no appoligae for the wait.Sorry but will be looking else where for my week-end takeaway, as good customer service does not cost anything, and customer feedback should at least be taken seriously.

Been ordering here most weeks for years but continually taking over two hours to deliver food. The first couples of times it would take two hours we were informed when ordering so we knew in advance but the last 3 times nothing has been said. Tonight ordered at 7pm and still waiting 2 hrs 30 mins later. Phoned to check on order to be told it’s not even left and this is to be expected on a Saturday. The woman is always unhelpful and rude on the phone. Food is a hit or a miss sometimes the food is really nice and other times cold and burnt. Time to look for another place that doesn’t take so long to deliver with better service.

Placed order for take away where payment was taken over the phone at time of order. Historically have been advised on the expected time for delivery where outwith 30 minutes, on this occasion no time was given. After waiting 2 hours (we have become aware of lengthy waits for take away whether collecting or being delivered) we called to enquire about our take away. At that time advised that everyone knows that Saturday night deliveries take over 2 hours! Eventually received take away around 2hrs and 50minutes from order. Absolutely not worth it, now looking at other restaurants which have better customer service.

Just collected a take-away meal for two which was not hot enough to eat.... had to microwave before eating. I arrived early and had to wait for the food so no excuse for it being cold. I live only five minutes drive from the restaurant.

This restaurant serves great food - better than you can believe. Seriously great food!! The problem is delivery times. Possibly hoisted by their own petard. Two and a half hours is excessive IMHO for delivery where 50 mins is ok. Blame the org not the driver. Shame. We go full family so ££££ lost to them.

Food is so good , fresh and tasty. Staff amazing .curry sauce is amazing 😉 king prawn randang is my new favourite, chicken balls are bloody also

My wife and I have been regular customers of this restaurant for many years. We often dine in and more often order food for collection or delivery. I have no complaints whatsoever about the quality of food or service when dining in the restaurant. Over the last few months, we had concerns about the quality of food when ordering a takeaway on Friday or Saturday nights and decided to refrain from ordering takeaway food on those nights. On Friday 28 February 2020, we decided to give it another go. We ordered a chopped breast of chicken curry with additional portion of side curry sauce as the main meal. Quite simply, the sauce was disgusting and inedible. I have attached a photograph of the sauce, which resembled the worst type of wallpaper paste. Unfortunately it is only a photograph I could attach as the video could not be uploaded. This is unfortunate as the video clip shows what words cannot explicitly describe. Rather than an immediate, I'm going to phone them and complain attitude, I decided to be more pragmatic by submitting an e mail on their website to raise the issue and invite a considered response. I thought this would be the best approach given we have been customers, as previously mentioned, for many years. Having failed to receive a response, I called in personally to the restaurant on the Saturday where the need for a verbal description of my complaint was removed as the showing of the video more than communicated the substance of my complaint. The waiter immediately stated that this was a matter for the Manager and my details were noted with the promise of an early phone call from the Manager. I refrained from being rude to the waiter who tried to offer a rather patronising tutorial on the consistency of curry sauce. I again invited him to view the video. He did. He spoke no more. The staff and management of this restaurant know exactly who we are as we have been regular for all those years. I am willing to accept the occasional poor meal but I won't be accepting a lack of response or associated courtesy. I am not after a freebie. I'll pay for my food....but no longer at this restaurant. And oh, I will be proactive in my approach in terms of discouraging friends and family from using this restaurant. Courtesy costs nowt.

My last review 4 years ago was a 4/5 but I wanted to remove and write a new one. The Richmond is always perfect whether sit in or takeaway. The quality of food never dips. People moaning about takeaway times when a restaurant is in there also, so can see why focusing on the restaurant side of it. Best Chinese for me in Glasgow, portion size, quality of food wise.

Was there on Saturday 19th january. Arrived at 6pm and never got our main course till 7.30. The staff concentrated on the take away orders rather than the people sitting in using the restaurant. It was chaotic and staff running about. I am surprised there wasnt accidents. Food was nothing special. I wont e returning .

Pleasant clean surroundings and friendly staff but decidedly average cuisine.If you like bog standard chinese food with plenty of msg you wont be disappointed. We attended for dinner last night and were underwhelmed by the quality of the food.The Richmond share platter starter is definitely one to avoid, it consisted of inedible ribs which were purely fat, standard chicken nuggets and pre packed prawns in batter, the 4 chicken satay strips were the only acceptable items.We waited 20 minutes between courses and the restaurant was quiet when we arrived.Both main courses were disappointing a chicken and green pepper chow mien and schezwan prawns, both underwhelming.All in all very poor , would probably not return.

We were booked into the above with friends and the length of time we waited for our table was not acceptable 1 hour. We then waited 55 minutes once we were seated for our food . The food was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I felt that they were let down by a lack of staff on the night and the waiting time.

We always use Richmond for take away and have never been disappointed so we decided to have our Christmas meal with them. There were 12 of us so we had all pre-booked our preferences, we waited about 40 minutes for our meal which we understood as there were so many of us, the starters were fine, 6 of us ordered the turkey as a main, which we all wished we hadn't, it arrived and we though it was gammon steak, it was like a thick slab of bacon with a fat rim around it, there were probably about 4 very small roast potatoes, 1 small pig in blanket and 4 pieces of carrot (sliced) we then waited about another 40 minutes for the dessert which was mediocre, the meal came to over £550 and we all felt that it was not worth it. Shame. £60 service charge added on.

This was our 4th visit here and once again the food was fantastic, from presentation to taste. The staff were so nice and the girl, sorry didn’t get her name, was so lovely. Thanks for everything and we will be back! Recommend to anyone in the area to visit here.

I have frequented the Richmond for a number of years, it has always primarily been a business lunch, I can’t rave about the experience, but I can guarantee the lunchtime menu and service will always live up to expectations. The decor and surroundings are in need of attention and investment, not desperate, but noticeable, that aside, the lunch always satisfies, served professionally and always with a smile , a warm welcome awaits accompanied with good value and table service

Great service and food. Excellent menu. Staff always pleasant and helpful. Quiet music. Tables far enough apart to be comfortable Good take away service too.

Went for dinner on Saturday night with friends.

We have ordered our Saturday night carry out here for years as we love the food. My husband places a phone order and goes down to pick it up to hurry things along. Recently however we have been unhappy with the service. EG we were told on Saturday it will be 40 minutes and when he goes down he's been waiting over an hour since phoning. I understand they have the very busy restaurant and the take out/delivery is also popular but service needs to be sped up a bit and keep to the times given. Its not cheap so you expect high standards all round.

Delivery time is ridiculous. Ordered a takeaway 2 hours ago and still waiting. Won’t be using this restaurant again.

We visited here on Saturday! Myself my girlfriend and 4 other family, we arrived and had to wait which was understandable considering how busy it was and the food they serve, down side was we waited a wee while with no offer of drinks, so we had to chase them for one, food was exceptional! Really enjoyed everyone seemed to love it, would definitely be back. Thank you!

So I had been here years ago. We decided to give it a try. Oh man. I wish we stayed home. The decor is nice and clean. The food was... Dry. Even the ribs were so tough. The dinner of chow mein came and thank God for children as they ate it. I was so hungry ended up eating chips. No free prawn crackers. Even charged me £2,50 of diluting juice for the toddler. Who dropped the glass on the floor. Yes glass. They had no plastic cups for kids. Yep. Kid friendly if your child is over 6. £2.50 for drink of irn bru is ridiculous. I went to the local hotel for a business lunch and it was only £1.75 for a glass bottle. Money here is not well spent and would definitely not be going back here. The service was just as bad as the food. At one point my husband said are you OK? As our waitress was so down and very abrupt.

The food was not the worst I have experienced but poor points were the rice being hard. The curry was so spicy and I love spicy food but it was so so hot. The staff are so rude and not friendly in the slightest. My children have better manners.

Today me and the family booked lunch in a restaurant we frequently visit and love the staff and the food, they make you feel so welcome but please don’t let me put you off this restaurant as today I hope is a one off, but our server today ruined our lunch as she was dour, their was no eye contact through out the service, couldn’t have given a toss and made us feel very uncomfortable in asking for anything more and on top of all this she just dropped my receipt while turning away with disdain and attitude with it dropping in my lap. The food was excellent as usual.

Visited richmond on friday night with my wife for a pre theatre and although the food was once again very good there were a few issues, staters were good but when mains were served there was a long black hair on my plate, when this was pointed out to staff they asked if i wanted a new plate instead of giving me one straight away and no apology and no more rice offered as they binned what was on the plate, after all that meals were very good, when the bill arrived we had been charged for two bottles of wine instead of one when this was pointed out again no apology, so we wont be back which is disappointing as this is my favourite Chinese in EK, need to work on those customer service skills

Have been for sit-in meals in the past, however have a carryout every Friday night, never been disappointed with their food.

We come here often, just a 5 minute walk from work. Staff are always pleasant, the meals great. Only criticisms i have is that although the lunches are good, they are predictable, and I'm not sure the menu has changed in years. However why change if it works?

Book a large table for my birthday with family and friends and once again the food and drink was superb, cannot go into the details on what we all had but all cleared their plates drank plenty of drink and had a great time , first class.

Really enjoyed food from a reasonably priced set menu. Restaurant a little tired, one female waitress stood out as she was so friendly and professional. Restaurant really busy but service was efficient. Would visit again.

Just had a delivery of above dish, very disappointing really tasteless ended up in bin. Been to this restaurant several times for lunch and was always impressed by the flavours but unfortunately lacking on all accounts. Very hard to get a decent Chinese takeaway so back to the drawing board for me.

Spent many years eating and having take away a from here, but recently the Richmond has gone done hill in a big way. When the original owners ran this business it was ‘special’ now the service is poor and it’s just another let down. Sad

In my opinion the best Chinese restaurant in East Kilbride, friendly efficient staff, great menu choice and quite simply amazing food.

I have had take aways from this restaurant before: they were usually very good: but I ordered one for myself and I was very dissatisfied with it: I think it may have been a reheated meal: and a bit overpriced. A meal for one £10.90. I expected it to be perfect for that price, I will not be ordering from them again.

Really busy restaurant with lots of atmosphere, the food was good but the service was a let down. There was a party of 6 at the table next to us so the staff basically catered to their every need & pretty much ignored us until we had almost shout over for attention! This let the whole experience down! The food was good but there are much nicer places with great service at half the price... attached was the only dish worth taking a pic of...

If eating overpriced, dry, lackluster Chinese food on an industrial estate is your idea of heaven then Richmond Oriental is the place for you!

My husband and granddaughter booked a table for my 70 th birthday at the Richmond Oriental in East Kilbride. This was my first visit to this restaurant and have to say the surroundings and food were absolutely fantastic. The service was also first class. Thank you so much for a wonderful night. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Ristorante grande arredato in stile quindi scuro. Si trova in luogo isolato comunque ha una buona capienza, dispone di tavolini per stessa dove si può bere mentre si attende.

We popped in here without a reservation and were met by friendly staff and seated promptly. Great range of food, their pre theatre is excellent value and the service was friendly and prompt. Lovely looking restaurant too. Highly recommended.

The staff are very nice and there is a good selection of food which is lovely. The food is very nice and tasty.

Eating on my own, without the pressure of needing to have a set meal for however many, I took some time out to enjoy some understated decent food. The ribs starter could have been cooked a little longer, but I ate early in the evening-maybe needed time to soften. The Szechaun chicken however was really nice, good crunch to the onions and peppers with a decent depth to the hot pepper sauce;. I liked it.

We have been coming here for the last few years, have always been fantastic. However when we visited last year the food was a bit underpar. Went today to see if it was just a blip. Well visiting today we were less than impressed. Dirty tablecloth for a start! We always get the crispy curry chicken and this was totally different from what we were used to, tiny prices of very chewy chicken! My mother in law always get the lemon chicken and to be honestt it was awful, fatty, dry and totally inedible. Unfortunately will not be back!!

We visited 3 adults for lunch. Restaurant is set up nicely so be lovely for a more fancy occasion. We visited on a Saturday for lunch- the set menu is excellent value and the choice is huge. Portion sizes great and service good. Wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Our parents booked a table for our family (9 people) to celebrate their Diamond (60 years) Wedding Anniversary at 6:45pm and clearly explained that they wanted the pre theatre menu which was available until 7pm. Everyone was there early and when we were ready to order at 6:47pm we were advised that we had missed the pre theatre menu by 2 minutes????

Our first time at the Richmond Oriental, and it was a fantastic experience. The restaurant is smart and very well designed. The Staff are amazing and the food fantastic. It may be a little bit of the main roads and bus routes but well worth the effort to have a very good meal reasonably priced in beautiful surroundings.

Went here for a family meal food was very tasty and staff were very friendly, food was out quickly and cooked to perfection. Decided to try a takeaway and was very disappointed totally different from when we ate in. Would go again for sit in

Can I thank the restaurant for a great night on 10th February 2018. My sons organised a surprise 70th birthday party and the restaurant did us proud especially Tony, Vivian and Chloe. They really did us all proud. The food was brilliant and plenty of it - so well done to all especially when the restaurant was very busy. Thanks again x

As a frequent visitor to this restaurant we were not left disappointed on Saturday by the quality of food on offer. Although very busy, the service was its usual friendly and efficient best. For our party of four there were some real highlights. A Sea Bass filleted at the table was exceptional and the king prawn sizzler was very tasty.

Visited The Richmond for a family birthday meal. I’ve been a visitor to this place for a number of years so I know what to expect in terms of the quality of food etc.

Table and chairs for two was so comfortable when most places are uncomfortable I felt like I was home with no pressure to hurry or anything loved it and I'm very perticular eating out

Went for dinner with friends. This is a comfortable well decorated restaurant with a nice ambience. Service is good and the staff are attentive and work hard. Food is well presented and well prepared but the menu is a little restrictive for non meat eaters....

Ordered food on 15th December and beef curry was swimming in tasteless curry sauce but Parners food was nice. Reordered food on 2nd January and food took 2 hrs to arrive and was almost stone cold, missing items on the list. We called to say missing items we were offered food be resent or £10 voucher ? Considering the missing items this was not much of a consolation and we didn’t want to wait another 2 hours ! Richmonds needs to step up there game as there not the cheapest and certainly not the best service angry customer

Very varied menu, good prices and the staff are very helpful and attentive. You never feel rushed. Very clean and plenty of space between tables.

No welcome or shown to our seats. One guest waited 40 minutes for her drink after asking 3 times.

Have been here a few times. We return for the ambiance. It's never loud or crowded in the evenings, so good for conversation. Due to the time we go, we have to order off the a la carte menu. The good is always ok, never better than that. The service is fine. Unfortunately the food is hugely over priced. I was £15.90 for mixed satay and then had to pay for rice and drinks on top of that. It's certainly not a cheap evening out and was it not for the nice atmosphere in the restaurant we wouldn't go back.

Second time we've visited (again lunch), and yet again fantastic food served in this friendly local Chinese restaurant. Starters:Hot & sour soup was delicious - good amount of heat, though maybe could have had hotter. Very generous amount of meat & vegetables served within (rather than the sometimes paltry offerings at other places).Breadcrumb chicken - succulent chicken coated in very light bread crumbs, which was well complimented by the chilli dip sauce. Mains:Rendang Chicken: very well made, lovely balance of flavours & generous portion. Definitely have again. Chicken with mushrooms: good sized portion that didn't scrimp on the portions. "Srummy" was the verdict We'll certainly be back, now clear favourite Chinese restaurant for us

Popped in for a weekday meal and lovely it was too, started off with a starter which was prawns and fantastic and main meal was noodles and chicken and cashew nuts which was excellent and washed down with several budweisersThe service was excellent as usual and the three of us has a wonderful time and 3 great meals Would highly recommend fantastic meal with great service

I've been to the Rich one many times over the years. I've always found it very consistent for service and food quality. I was there with some colleagues from work this time, the service was fast and friendly. The food was all freshly cooked and tasted delicious. The restaurant is nicely decorated and there is plenty parking right at the door. I'll look forward to being back again soon.

This is our favourite Chinese restaurant in East Kilbride. We come every Saturday night for our weekly carry out. Great service and food is always delicious. Have also sat in the restaurant many times over the years which is nice for a treat with excellent service. Very busy and recommended. Will be back next Saturday!

Came here with my family on a Saturday night. Best to book in advance as it is always busy. Very friendly staff greeted us at the reception and showed us to our table. Food was delicious and staff were very friendly and efficient without being too obtrusive. Would definitely recommend here for a nice family meal and have already booked to come back in a few weeks.

The best in East Kilbride. Well worth the slightly elevated prices. Service second to none. The previous theatre menu available all week including Saturday is well worth it.

This is one of my favourite Chinese Restaurants here in EK food cannot be faulted and have always been given the best of service. The staff are always pleasant and always make you welcome. Weekends you really need to book in advance to be guaranteed a table. I have been a regular client here for many years and cannot praise the management and staff highly enough. You won't find better food anywhere. Great service every time

Booked for 6 people on a Saturday night apparantly along with half of East Kilbride! Arrived 10 minutes prior to booking and waited approx 45 mins in their waiting area, at least we got seats, many more people standing. Given our menu in their crowded waiting area and then expected to choose our meal! The meal was lovely when we finally got to eat it. The service was good but a bit haphazard, it was really really busy and the staff were struggling to cope. Been here before and it was lovely but this was an awful experience and not one to be repeated. Greed is a terrible thing, if you're fully booked say so!

Visited recently in party of 10 arriving 15 mins before our booking and shown to holding area for a drink whilst waiting which didn't arrive for 15 mins.40 mins after our booking time I asked what was the hold up with our table to be told it was being set, 50 mins still not ready, 60 mins could get in as wheelchair was being moved so we sat down 65 mins after our booking time, another 10 mins waitress asked if we would like a drinks order after we had called her over. 5 mins later another waitress arrived to take a "complimentary" drinks order due to the wait, this then arrived before the other original order we had placed!!.....we then got to order our meals.so around an hour and a half behind our original booking time some prawn crackers actually arrived on the table!!When the mains arrived it took another 5 mins before any rice arrived, 3 sea bass dishes arrived 1 at a time and by the time they were filleted arrived on the table lukewarm at best. Service was chaotic and unprofessional.whilst the restaurant was busy as we sat down it emptied quickly yet the staff seemed more focussed on setting tables that were to remain empty that look to the needs of the diners who were there.As it was a birthday celebration and not wishing to embarrass the hostess we kept quiet whilst inwardly wishing to take the manageress to task, however would probably have been pointless as when my wife quietly and discreetly expressed her disappointment on the service and the fact the sea bass has taken so long to fillet it had been served almost cold it was met with no response. At the time of serving when remarking the dishes were cool the waitress did offer to reheat but as we were so far behind the other diners and having chosen to have freshly cooked sea bass we were not about to wait whilst 3 dishes were reheated.in summary the overall impression of the food was average at best, the service and staff organisation shambolic and ruined what should have been a pleasant dining experience. I suspect that the staff numbers could not cope with the amount of patrons as we were not the only table to be sat down well behind their original booking time, pretty bad reflection on the managements organisational skills

The food and service were of a very high standard. Great menu and attentive and friendly staff. Not overpriced but we'll worth the money. Very tasty grub. I'm going again tonight

my friend and I go to this restaurant once a month,we usually go for the pre theatre,two starters,two mains,two diet cokes,£34.00.The portions are huge and the food is lovely!such a nice restaurant and the staff are really nice and friendly,great place to visit but book at peak times as it can get very busy!

We spent a very enjoyable Mothers Day here the food was very good with a very good selection and the staff were very attentive and responsive to any request, they even provided each mother with a free glass of Proscecco which was a nice touch and thoughtful

Not your usual looking Chinese restaurant , this has great décor and food is great with great menu choices. Atmosphere is good and the restaurant is spotless.

I've been coming here for over a decade and always enjoy it very much. The service is consistently excellent, the staff always very pleasant and attentive. The food is also always very good, I've never had a bad meal here and neither have the people I've visited with, very good quality and definitely worth a visit.

Having been to this restaurant several times I know the quality of food and service as their prices testify .We reserved a table for 6 a couple of days before our visit and checked again 2 hrs before our visit as this was a family celebration with 2 very elderly and infirm persons in our party.We were assured everything was fine...NOT SO... on arrival (on time) we were met by a very pleasant member of staff who apologised that our table wasn't ready and could we go to the bar area and have a drink for a few minutes.Reluctantly because of the mobility of our guests I agreed....we sat 45mins NO DRINKS AND NO STAFF... I approached the front desk and was beckoned to come to the table just short of 1hr late.....I would point out we were not the only people waiting on tables ...What's the point of a reservation if you don't have a table ...tell me you can't give me a table and that it'll be 1hr later for the booking...This is a terrific restaurant with great staff but the organisation last night was awfulThe food was the usual super standard but spending that amount and not even a drink while we waited is poor show for an upmarket restaurant. Must try harder......!

We have been to the Richmond several times and have loved both the food and service. However we went with a group of 24 friends for Hogmanay, not expecting much due to the size of group and time of year/ demand of extra custom. We were absolutely wrong to doubt them! The service was efficient and polite as always, even though the restaurant was full to capacity. A special Hogmanay menu was offered for an excellent price, as well as the usual a la carte so plenty of choice. There was little to no wait on food and if there was, this was opportunity to order more beverages. Everyone that was there commented on how good the food was and how reasonable the prices were. We have all been back at least once since...even those who travelled far to be there! Can't honestly recommend this place enough!

I placed a meal order to be delivered to my home, when the delivery guy appeared he went to hand me the food only for I noticed the curry was all over the bag which I was told the lid must have come off and if I wanted it now do I have mug written on my forehead I sent him away with it, to even take that out his car and deliver it to a customer is ridiculous only for I turned it away 5mins later someone from the restaurant called to say if there was a problem and would I like another meal well the answere was nope as I was not waiting another 40mins plus I should have been offered it free anyway ended up ordering else where, to me I think the driver probably speeding and my curry has been knocked about the car well I certainly won't be ordering from there again.

My first visit to this restaurant in a few years and after this I won't be leaving it so long in the future. Although we still use it on a regular basis for takeaway food.We were a group of 8 and and had good attentive service from the start backed up with delicious food.The only criticism I would have is they they don't leave the side orders of noodles or rice at the table and when we required more we had to look for a member of staff to serve us but the staff were on hand to serve almost immediately on most occasions.

Have been to the Richmond on a couple of occasions. As ever the food was fabulous . The service is very good- courteous staff who are very helpful. You never feel rushed or as if you are an inconvenience.Exceptional- we'll worth a visit.

Went here on Christmas eve and was as always impressed with the level of service and quality of food. Staff are always efficient and polite. Will definitley be eating here again!

Had a reservation for 7 people and I must say the service was fantastic and the food delicious and will be back.Met the other guests in the bar area on arrival had a few drinks and headed to our table which was decked in balloons for my birthday , had a few more drunks and our starters which I had the prawn cocktail and several more drinks and my main was the duck and pancakes and was amazing Then the birthday cake came out with the staff signing which I did not expect so folks if you want a fantastic meal, good free parking great drinks, great food and fantastic service then I highly recommend you will not be disappointed .

This is the easiest 5 star rating ever . I`d give 6 stars if I could .This restaurant is a perfect example of how to make guests feel really welcome , special , and appreciated . The service was brilliant . Not rushed , attentive , friendly , and timed the courses , drinks , and checking everything was ok , perfectly . The food is delicious , seating is spacious , lighting is spot on . Congratulations to the owners and staff for getting it sooo right .Our evening was a delight from start to finish

Midweek visit with my daughter. We were only the second table in the restaurant. The restaurant itself was a bit on the cold side however I was seated next to a radiator so I soon warmed up. The starters of salt and pepper chicken wings and chicken and sweetcorn soup was delicious. The mains of Kung Po chicken and a chicken curry was also lovely with no complaints.We ordered a side of noodles which were very nice and the waitress stated that should we need more then we could at no extra cost. A pleasant experience...

We no longer live in east kilbride, we were visiting family and took a chance on getting a table, we got one at 7pm on a Saturday night, a large piece of luck, staff very friendly and efficient, service very good except on refilling the rice and noodles, food very nice and tasty, just as we remembered it, a nice place to eat, nice ambience, food varied and well presented, Dum Sum and chicken satay recommended, mandarin chicken also very tasty.

I've been going here on and off for a few years, but after a break of probably a year or so we went back for an evening meal, the food is just average now, I think peoples expectations have risen over the years but the Richmond just trots out the same old stuff, I remember now why I stopped going, don't get me wrong the food is OK and the service is alright if a bit on the pushy side with offers of more drinks every few minutes.At 54 quid for for two mains and two starters with a coke and a glass of wine...do I think it was value for money?NoAnother thing that bugs me is the hand dryer in the gents has had a broken flap for YEARS, but now it's finally packed up altogether but they haven't bothered to to put a sign on it, have some fun waving your hands under it. Come on folks you must be able to afford to replace it surely? There is no toilet roll holder either, they are almost in sight of a Screwfix depot, how hard would be to drill two holes and stick a couple of wall plugs in?It's no better than our local take away quality wise...just more expensive and yes I know they have overheads, but they need to up their game in my opinion.I think it's safe to say that was my last visit, it's a shame but they are locked in a time warp of the mid 80s.

My sister recommended this place and we weren't disappointed. We opened with the seafood platter for two and of the four parts, the battered piece was ok, but the other three elements were fantastic. Then onto beef in black bean sauce and some chicken dish which featured pineapple and coconut purée. Brilliant. The service was excellent and the prices fair. My parents got takeaway the same night and my sister (and her family) the night following and we all reckoned the food to be fantastic. Recommended.

Attended as a party of 5 for the pre theatre menu. We were quickly sat at our table and offered menus and drinks. Ordered a variety of starters including hot and sour soup, prawn toast, veg spring rolls and chicken and sweetcorn soup. They were all delicious with no complaints being aired. Mains consisted of prawn sambal; Kung po chicken; breaded chicken curry; lemon chicken and chicken satay with boiled and fried rice with a portion of noodles. Once again the food was lovely and freshly prepared. Dinner was rounded off with coffee, minus and fortune cookie. A very positive experience in our opinion with very polite and attentive staff. It is definitely worth a visit in my Wee humble opinion.

its the worst place ever to have a relaxing meal, not only did the staff have ignorant manners. the food was cold and crap we got hassled all the way through our meal ,all they wanted was to get us more drink,we didnt get a chance to eat it, before the waitress took our dinners away in front of our eyes shocking stuff,when i asked for the bill, there was change to be given back too us,but it never came back we sat for 5mins to give them a chance to bring our change back but there ignored us totally ,i ended up going to ask them what happened to my bill they said aw do we aw you something .again shocking stuff .what a nightmare.never to be repeated again , if karma has a way to reach out to the owners /staff i hope karma does its job .

We normally use the Richmond for special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries, however after a brilliant weekend on the Ayrshire coast we thought 'what would be good to round it off' The first place that sprang to mind was the Richmond Oriental, where I rate the food, the staff and the surroundings very highly indeed. I have never been disappointed in all my visits and would highly recommend this restaurant. This is the only place I have two starters, one being the hot and sour soup which is fabulous. Normally the prices are a little higher than normal, but as I said its for special occasions, however on this visit we used the pre-theatre menu which was very reasonable indeed.

Had not booked but in very quickly. Choice is wide and varied and good value. Service was quick, one dish was incorrect and changed very quickly with no fuss. The food was excellent as always and a visit to the Richmond never disappoints

By far the best chinese food I've tried in East Kilbride .. Havent had a bad meal yet .. BBQ ribs are amazing.

Went with friends for a business lunch before going to eastkilbride shopping .I had soup , Hong Kong sweet sour chicken & fried rice , friends had similar including French fries, drinks & coffee £15 a head ! Can tell you food was delicious & service was excellent !! Been back since and will keep returning love it !
