Rice'n'three in Bolton

Oh my word, we need to move to Bolton! This place is fantastic, they do really quick tasty fresh food. Would recommend the chicken tikka on naan bread, your tastebuds will thank you.

Have to say the Lamb Chop Curry is absolutely delicious. This is only every Tuesday as they go different dishes every day, but every Tuesday one of the dishes is the Lamb Chop Curry. Recommend this wholeheartedly. Bought some today for my contractors working in Bolton today and they want to go back to get more!! Love this place.

This food restaurant offers indian/pakistani fast food at reasonable prices. It's fast food without compromising on taste. A nice place to grab a bite if you are tired of fries and burgers.

Excellent as always. I’m a regular customer and food is fantastic. Need to know the secret of the basmati rice( love every grain!)

I had visited this place in Bolton. I ordered starters and mains. The dishes tasted like it was refigerated before being microwaved and served. Overall I rate it 6.5 / 10

Excellent service, fresh Currie's daily, great choice, great prices, honestly say the food is one of the best in Bolton town centre.

First visit and food was excellent. I had 2 meat curries and 1 veg with with rice and a Nan bread for under 5 pounds. Meat was chicken and lamb on the bone and veg was chick peas. Nan was really buttery and tasty. Free water. Busy at Saturday lunch but would go again. As an aside the place was spotlessly clean.

Been going for a good number of years. Excellent food at incredibly low prices. Always receive a Great welcome.

Simple and does what it says on the tin, homemade curries, you can choose a scoop of three different ones with rice. For a £5 lunch you will be hard pushed to find anywhere better in Bolton

Myself and two friends opted to visit here after several recommendations from friends and boy are we glad we did. The place was packed out at 2.30 on a Saturday afternoon with diners of all ages and cultures. The food was amazing the service was fast efficient and friendly and the atmosphere was brilliant. Despite being packed out there was no urgency to get people out so it was an all round fantastic experience

Rice with a choice of any 3 curries on top - the choice varies through the week - all excellent value and with friendly service. Good masala tea to finish.

I must say the service and food quality at this place is a lot better than their sister branch on Deane Rd (which i have also reviewed). Friendly staff, food was really impressive and the place was packed, well worth a visit if you are in and around the Bolton town centre, you won't be disappointed.

Really enjoyed lunch there. Lots of curries flying out, although they'd ran out of a few by the time we got there (2pm). The kebabs looked amazing. Staff were great. Deffo worth going too, but still prefer the original that is This n That in Manchester...

Chicken tikka sandwich on naan, with sauces, a real plate filler. Curries change daily. Great cheap eats. Cafe hours only. Eat in or out. Curry a little mild for us but the homemade chilli sauce has real flavour & bite. Child friendly.

Absolutely love this place! Wide range of food to choose from, fast service (always friendly) only problem is choosing what to have as everything looks so good! This place is a must try!

Muy bien cocinado curry, personal fantástico, tamaños y una buena porción siempre cambiante variedad todos a una comida estupenda relación calidad-precio. No tuvo la suerte de visitar en un jueves, pero me dijeron sus biriyani es el mejor. Sin duda vale la pena volver.

Este lugar es increíble. La comida es estupenda, incluso si no particularmente como sus sándwiches de pollo al curry, tikka son increíbles. También me gusta la manera de ver a la gente de todas las edades y etnias disfruta este tipo de comida y siempre lleno, lo que para mí es un claro signo es un buen lugar para ir. Es muy limpio, me he visto literalmente un miembro del personal de barrido de la latas de aparecer antes!

I regularly visit rice and three when I'm in town lunch time. The food is great and very lovely to eat especially the kebabs and chicken tikka and is very reasonably priced try it you will love it.

I've been eating in rice n three since my early teens and still pop in whenever I pass through Bolton for lunch. I can honestly say that it's the best home style curry in town and personally I think the best curry overall. This is not a "restaurant" that serves the usual tikka masala and vindaloo, I prefer to think of it as a "greasy spoon" cafe with a twist. What you get here is real home style curries that haven't changed much since mum and dad used to steer the ship in the old premises around the corner and that is not a bad thing! The menu changes depending on the day but you'll usually find a meat curry, an 'on the bone' curry and various vegetable dishes and dhal etc plus a good selection of kebabs and fresh baked breads. I usually try my best to get in on Biriyani day which is something of treat when scooped up with a freshly baked naan or chapati, otherwise I usually opt for the namesake dish of rice and three portions of whatever looks the best! The portions here are generous so if you're having the curry then give yourself plenty of time to enjoy it.The curries are not the spice laden pungent Friday night takeaway variety, they are subtle, authentic, tasty and ideal for any day of the week. As I mentioned, rice n three isn't a typical "Indian". You won't find potted plants, fish tanks, sitar music or bow tie sporting waiters and the premises is certainly less than pristine but what it lacks in style it more than makes up for with good honest food that's barely felt by the pocket. Opening times are limited and don't expect to roll in after a night on the town but if you're a curry fan and you're after a hearty lunch or an early dinner then give it a go, this is the best in town.

We visited this little family run restaurant in the heart of Bolton today and it was fabulous!We browsed the endless opportunities before us and then set upon ordering at the til. We ordered rice with three of their meat curry options and a drink. For the hearty meal that was provided, it was only £5! I mean who can get an authentic meal cooked by professionals these days for a fiver?My cousin had never been before and I introduced him to their kebab sandwich which was appropriately priced at around £2.50. He's a lover of spice and hot sauces and I recommended the hot sauce that came at the side of his meal. Well.. let's just say that it gave him a run for his money and he hasn't stopped talking about it! He's set to return again for another in the week! I think he's now hooked just as much as me!This place is ever-so-popular and you can tell why, .. it's not just the service, pricing or food. it's the place.. GO CHECK IT OUT!

More like a little chippy it's tiny food was nice and reasonable priced but very small not much room to move

Eat and Rice n Three regularly and it does wonders, lots to choose from and its made reasonably quick. There are different foods to choose from on different days and sundries which you can have any day like chicken tikka sandwich etc, only downsides are they don't deliver or open sundays ☹️

Love love love this place fresh Indian food cooked to perfection and fast family run business... Clean and always greeted with a friendly face... If this place delivered or opened evenings would be great but I guess only opens day time to keep its reputation... Fantastic food all day every day

This cafe is actually situated on Bradshawgate as the previous one has been demolished for the new transport interchange. Only open from 11.00 to 6.00. Daily specials plus wonderful kebabs. Popular with office workers, locals and me!! I have been going for years. The staff are wonderful and friendly. The best compliment is that a few of my Asian friends say that it tastes like their mother's cooking. Three meat curries and rice for about a fiver? Cannot be beaten. They also do a roaring takeaway trade.

I really like this place. The food is good, the prices are fantastic. It's clean and tidy what's not to like? You an get a decent meal for under a fiver. Staff are very friendly and helpful & they are child friendly.

Can't understand why this restaurant doesn't have full rating from everyone that visits, yummy fresh cooked in front of you food.. Who wants a hot drink with curry ?! :/ lol .. I highly recommend !!, I either have a kebab (open with nice salad and plenty of meat) or the choice of a trio of curry and rice

Food is great fresh and very, very fast. No waiting around for your food. Place gets busy too. Just walk in and they have fresh food ready. Also they only make one fresh batch of their food so once it runs out its gone which is a down side also its coordinated by days so mondays they have one set menu and Tuesdays they have something else which is another down side but over all food and service is top. Great Indian food and its clean and tidy too great for lunch time with mates or take out for the family.

My son first introduces me to Rice and Three some years ago. I would say that he goes there more often than myself, he is extremely fussy about quality food and had had dozens and dozens of meals there. he particularly likes the vegetarian meals. Go see for yourself, you will only be disappointed with the queue

All time favourite! Chicken curry and rice is unbeatable along with the chicken tikka. Food is always out quick and always up to standard

Food, cleanliness service and value - all very good but they do not do hot drinks! Such a shame. The menu changes daily and there is a good (albeit limited) selection. The clue to the choice is in the name - you choose up to three dishes and then put it with some rice OR you can have chicken tikka and salad in a wrap or naan.

Been coming here for about 20 years, food seems to have got even better since the move from Gt Moor St. Dishes aren't really spicy, so great for children, I always ask for fresh chilli on top of mine

Very popular Asian fast food. Excellent value for money. Very busy at lunchtime. Soft drinks and water to wash it down.

Rice 'n' three is fantastic for that quick lunchtime curry, the portion sizes are great and the variety excellent, I especially enjoyed the lamb curry which was tender and very tasty, I has a nan bread which was lovely and light. A good aspect is that I went with my wife who is watching her weight and she was able to have a chicken tikka salad so she did not feel at all guilty !! - best bit was that it came to less than £8 for the whole meal.

I treat myself once a week for lunch (if I went more frequently my waistline would suffer!) Each day there is a different menu but you can always get curries which are available each day as well as kebabs, chicken tikka, samosas etc. Quite frankly I am salivating as I am writing this review and can offer no better advice other than to look at their website which is www.ricenthree.co.uk Enjoy!

Visited the new cafe which is on Bradshawgate twice in the last couple of weeks.Very tasty food and at such good value. Visited a few similiar cafe's in Manchester but this was by far the best in our experience.

Been coming here with my family since I was very young. I hated curry and anything spicy but thought I would try some for a change and now I love it especially the chana. Safe to say it's the best curry there is and not expensive at all!!! The staff are so friendly, welcoming and make you feel glad to be there. Would highly recommend to anyone!!!!

Went here with my friend and daughter , the place is clean , people are friendly , ordered the chicken tikka sandwich ( with chips for my daughter ) and curry sauce - came in a bowl , came to £4.70 - bargain :)Food is really quick after ordered/payed , chicken tastes really good, bread is fresh and salad and sauce spice it up abit , deffo recommend and will be going again

The choice of authentic, albeit Anglicised Asian food is very good. Many of the staff at our company (EcoSpeed Sameday Couriers) go to here on a regular basis. Quality food, good prices.

What a brilliant little or not so little cafe/takeaway. Very pleasant staff. The chicken tikka is so succulent. I love it on a chapati with salad and tamarind sauce. This place needs to be tried. Always extremely busy but turn around for food is very quick

I wanted something quick and tasty between meetings. Spotted this place and thought I would give it a try. It wasnt at all tasty. I found the curry to be bland and tasteless. My rice was gluppy. Not nice at all.

This is a cafe-style eatery that serves tasty, home-style food at affordable prices. Everything that we've tried here has, so far, been excellent with the rice 'n' three option being a favourite. The choice of curries varies according to the day of the week, with three meat and three veg curries from which to choose your rice 'n' three from each day. (If you don't fancy the curry there are other things to choose from.) Always happy to eat here. Note: as at 8 April 2014, the address here on Trip Advisor is still listed as Great Moor Street but Rice 'n' Three have now moved from there to new premises on Bradshawgate.

our first time and wont be our last 4 females and a baby looking for lunch, I had rice n 3, 1 veg (cabbage) 2 meat (lamb and chicken) and a garlic nan all were delicious, my daughters had a variety of kebab sandwiches between them and baby had a bit of everything, we all loved the food, the area was new and clean the service was prompt and a couple of smiles :) my only moan would be the hand dryer for the toilets is in the room where you eat, overall this is a fast food cafe with good home cooked food and we will definately be returning.

Used to go there when i was in college, the food never failed to disapoint and very affordable for students

excellent curries, 3 different ones with rice for £4-5, which are mothwateringly good. Venue has moved to Bradshawgate and much nicer building. Food just as good.

This isn't a fancy dining experience it's a small Indian Café, seating is limited but you can take away. Also get to grips with the menu before you order or you could end up with something you didn't really want. The food is good and reasonably priced try the kebab sandwich.
