Rice N Three in Bolton

Last time I came here was 10 years ago and it’s not changed. Food excellent quality - hot, tasty, fresh and served quickly. Does what it says on the tin! Cheers guys, I’ll definitely be back sooner than in 10 years this time!

The food is really nice, plus they offer deliveries through services like Uber eats.

Honestly the stars are just for the food. The staff who run the show seem to be arrogant and will even ignore you. Thats what I saw, others may disagree.

I prefer the town centre Branch... Not Value for ££££ this one...

Food is quite good compared to the prices. The management is very bad as there were nearly 3/4 staff people hanging on the front counter and still they were dealing with one person at the time letting people queuing up for no reason. One person in particular behind the till, was being abusing towards their own staff working in their kitchen as he shouted rudely on them several times. I don’t tolerate such unprofessional behaviour in a workplace, and won’t go back no matter the cheap prices.

Got the Rice & 3, daal, potato & veg, was ok, nothing special about it & can't beat Kebanas on cheetham hill rd, Manchester, now there rice & three no matter what you get is delicious & a generous portion complete with spicy onion salad & mixed yogurt & imli sauce. Won't be returning in a hurry, sorry guys

Food was very good price is ok and i buy water is no issue . I saw one review for patel if you go out side to eat You can spend money if you don’t have money to buy water stay home please not bring to relagion for small things

Absolutely delicious food at this place! Biryanis are 10/10 Nihari is out of this world! Daal gosht, karai chicken 🔥🔥 Not had a bad dish to date and ive been hooked since being introduced to the place a month ago!

Very poor food. Over-priced ! We got the dregs full of ghee. Over spiced no taste. Rude service that only accepts cash payment (HMRC anyone?); red flags all round. Have respect for yourself and go elsewhere.

Delicious simple food. Family restaurant. Neat and clean restaurant with welcoming staff. There are good sitting arrangements. I liked the food as it had less oil and not layers of oil. Mango lassi was yum. Kababs etc Everything was tasty. Must visit. Loved the food 😋

Rice n theee serve the best home cooked food with a different menu everyday. Rice n Three has been around since I was a child and the food has been fantastic everytime and served hot and fresh. The staff are amazing, super friendly and the food is also generous in portions and affordable. They are very accommodating and have plenty of seating as well as a sink for hand-wash which is always extremely handy. Whenever I ask for a small portion for my children they are always considerate and give the rice size portion in the right sized plate. I recommend rice and three for your home feel favourite comfort food. A popular choice for all and I highly recommend to all. A

Nice lamb curry and rice lovely

Visited here for the first time today after spotting it while passing. Clean place, friendly polite service and good food. I had rice n three, two meat one veg and a garlic naan. All tasted good and fresh. Good sized portion, no complaints. I brought takeaway home for Mrs and she loved it too as did kids who helped her polish it off. I would recommend to anyone that wants to try authentic home cooked curry. Definitely be calling in again to try some of the other dishes.

Best curry in Bolton... if not the world! So good, I always get the 3 veg curries, so full of flavor!

Not been to the Deane branch before and it's great. Very friendly staff and it reminds me of the old branch in the town centre before they moved. I'll probably pop up there again rather than the main site.

Best place for authentic Indian curry

Absolutely terrible! We ordered yesterday (Saturday): 1 chicken biryani, 1 large chicken curry with 2 chapatis for £17, definitely overpriced. A small chicken curry cost £4.50 and large £9.00?? The large is not even double the size of a small size! It was just slightly bigger than the small but definitely not worth it, we felt robbed. The chicken curry was heavily watered down and you can actually see the water settle at the top whilst the rest of curry and ingredients sank down. The chicken biryani didn't have any chicken in there so another rip off (they have a habit of lying when pointing this out!). Also we thought we would have some food later, so left curry to cool, partially covered - returned 2 hours later and it actually stank really bad! like it went off meaning the ingredients they used were of very poor quality and definitely not fresh, it was evident the chicken they used went off! I would not go here again, extremely disappointed. The guy serving wasn't friendly although the guy mopping was! You can go elsewhere and get same sized portions of food for cheaper and substantially much better quality. They are very quick to defend themselves and never admit to any fault. Best place to get a quick lunch. Great variety. Love that they have a different menu every day. Also very charitable people. One of my favourites for sure! Great veggie choices!

The sick woman counted how many pieces of meat she was actually putting in , and the food was gone off . 3 pieces of meat in a lamb biryani and it's gone off stink

Women on counter always gives small portions! If she has slightly given you more she takes it back out of the tray! Don’t like that one bit especially when the prices have gone up since last few months!

I went for my dinner today for the first time brilliant service very polite staff and the food was amazing, very tasty.

Great service. Basic seating and plane decor. They have a sink and soap by the counter so you can wash your hands properly before eating. Kebabs, naan and salad were all fresh and delicious. Only makes 3 curries a day (hence the name) but they were excellent. Very nice home cooked style takeaway food. Highly recommended.

Always brilliant, same set menu for every day which sounds constrictive but it's far from that. Been eating here for about 6 years. Thursday is lamb biryani day, that's the best day to go eat.

This restaurant is a little gold mine of taste. Food here is beautiful and authentic. It is like home cooked food rather than from a main restaurant and so it is just beautiful . Just had rice and 3 meat curries and every mouthful was a symphony and amazing. Raining outside but in here food is made with love and will bring a smile to the most greyest day. Highly recommend.

5 star rating for this jewel of a place. It is simple and just perfect for a no fuss great home cooked food at an unbelievable place. Staff are very welcoming, helpful and informed. I love this place and have been here so many times including the one in Town Centre. Great variety of dishes. Would definitely recommend the Lamp Chop Curry on a Tuesday. Always try to get down on a Tuesday if I am in Bolton for business. Most big name restaurants would charge 3-4 times as much and the food is still not as good. I cannot recommend this enough. Love it and will continue to be a regular.

I've been coming here for years and it is the best. The food is out of this world. Nothing comes close to this place.

We placed an order 45 minutes before arranging to pick up and went to collect our order. They had completely forgot to get the order ready although they had note of it. No apology offered, still the same glum attitude like they were doing us a favour shortening our lunch time, almost making us late for work. The previous day we ordered from Reel Chippy further up the road, they made a small error and forgot to put vinegar in one fish barm, as they had already packed it, we got given a new bottle of vinegar for free and a sincere apology for this small error. Now that's customer service. An apology by 'Rice n 3' would of gone a long way.

We travelled to Bolton from Newcastle-under-Lyme and called in Rice N Three for a snack. The curries smelt delicious and the portions very generous. We chose 'mini' lamb kebab sandwich. They were freshly prepared for us and huge. I was expecting half the size. They were delicious, the staff friendly & efficient and the premises were spotlessly clean. I will be back for one of those delicious smelling curries!

After hearing great reviews I thought I’d give this a try after work being absolutely starving....I got some sort of kebab as they were closing shortly and didn’t have much left. I enjoyed the kebab, it was alright however an hour after eating it I started to feel dodgy and threw up after feeling perfectly fine all day. I’m not one to complain or write a bad review unless absolutely necessary, I’m really upset it made me be sick I’m not having to go to bed at 7:30pm and waste my evening as it’s made me ill. Really not happy and will not be returning, never has anywhere made me sick. It’s such a shame because I’d been meaning to try this place for awhile and the young lad behind the counter was really nice. Sorry, 1 star

Beautiful food for a really good price

Really is a hidden gem this place, the food is amazing. Its nothing too fancy inside but you can get a traditional curry and sit in for £3.60!! If you want a tasty curry then I can highly recommend it

This place never ceases to amaze me. You can guarantee fresh food every time. Items are freshly made on the premises everyday. I usually have the chicken kebab 'sandwich' - which is really two chicken sheesh kebabs in freshly baked naan with lots of fresh salad. A very healthy option for anyone watching wanting to loose weight. Staff are very friendly. The place is always busy. we try to go just before 12 so we miss the lunch time crowd - and we eat upstairs so we can talk openly and make as much noise as we want (till other customers come upstairs off course).With all the new eateries opening in Bolton Rice n Three is the one place that never fails to deliver. We're spoilt for choice in Bolton but Rice n Three is the food outlet everyone always go back to as it caters for everyone. And the prices are moderate as well.A good place to have a quick light lunch in your lunch hour - no waiting long for food to arrive.

I have lived in England for 16yrs. I come from Durban, South Africa and have REALLY missed proper Indian Curry. At Rice n Three I have finally found what I believe to be the BEST Indian Curry in England! I go to Bolton for work and can't wait to go back so I can visit Rice n Three again.

Amazing health home cooked food

Driving past Rice N Three you would be forgiven for not being particularly interested in visiting. That all changes once you are persuaded to give it a go!Don't get me wrong, its not glamorous but it does sell really tasty food! They do about four curries per day and you pick which ones you want with rice. I love the prawn one, mince one and lamb chops but they are all really good.The kebabs are really good too, and the fresh naan bread is delicious. Since trying it the first time, I went probably once a week for a couple of years!!Give it a go... its a life changer!!

I visit here at least three times a week yasmeena is a lovely lady who has changed me from eating keema every visit to trying all the dishes the staff are lovely the food is amazing and the Nihari on Saturday is to die for it’s the nicest tastiest food I’ve ever eaten and I dine out quite a lot I absolutley love it please give it a try I guarantee you won’t be disappointed

Been going her for years and never reviewed because, it’s small, family run and I don’t want it to change. I hope this review doesn’t do that because it is the best Indian food for miles, I’m 16 miles away and I go as often as I can.

Been a few times and it's always great food. Can get busy though so get in early! No evening or weekend service, just lunches.

I have been eating here for many years. If you like good home made food this is a must. Not oily, not too spicy. Daily menu so few great quality choices. Absolutely minimal chairs and tables. No faff at all. This is more than often go to. Nihari on Saturdays is a must with us. I also like the mini kebab sandwiches for lite meals or children.

Cheap and cheerful eatery. Lovely selection of dishes that change daily. Highly recommended!!!
