Rexy Jacks in Omagh

Staff are lovely, food is vile. Tastes like its has been taken from an Iceland freezer. Chicken like cardboard, sweetcorn was inedible, ir was like mush. The green salad was half a dozen leaves in a bowl swamped with bland cheese and slaw. Chilli burger was tasteless. Never again! I notice how management doesn’t respond or try to defend themselves on trip advisor

Had a pizza here yesterday and it’s been coming out of me like rusty water since, an absolute ring burner. Won’t be back after coming for years

My parents, my husband and 3 young daughters, went to Rexy Jacks today on St Patrick’s Day. The young waitress called back the drinks list, she have written down 3 pints of Fanta orange, I said sorry it’s 3 juice shoots, she went away and in my shocked, a manager appeared at the table to confirmed she was in the staff room crying because of what I said about the 3 juice shoots. In all my years of eating out and working in the management sector myself, I was totally shocked that a a manger came down to accuse the table of making a young girl crying, I repeated exactly the way I said the order and asked did it sound rude, the manager said no, I asked the manager was the employee sensitive as I was not rude whatsoever, then the manager said it’s St Patrick’s Day, the girl wants to be out with her friends etc. There was a camera above our table for the management to watch it back if needed. I have been coming to Rexys jacks for years since it opened, my family and I will not be back after today. I hope the owner see this post and speak to management about addressing paying customers in the manner she did, it ruined a lovely day out with family. My meal came to the table stoned cold and I was too afraid to bring it up after the way the table was treated for correcting a drink order.

A little bit expensive, very good service.

I hadn't eaten here in a while, but decided to go one Saturday night a few weeks back, when we 1st arrived we were greeted straight away and seated straight away, no issues there, got our order taken promptly, again no issue, I decided to just have a main, my friend got 2 starters and a main, im normally a creature of habit when ordering, but I decided I would try thier chicken curry, with naan bread and mango chutney, when I placed the order there was no info about any changes, and as a point of reference in our duration of being at rexys we had 3 different servers, I was looking forward to what I had ordered, my friend had thier starters which went down well, I even tried some, it was lovely, then came the main, what I had ordered to what I was served didn't match up, no mango chutney or no naan bread, the dish was just plonked down in front of me by a new server who hadn't seated us or seen to us with starters or orders, when I looked at the dish at 1st glance it was more onions than meat and a slice of garlic bread, I asked the new waitress about the naan and mango chutney and was told that it doesn't come served like that, I said that it was on the menu, she said no it doesn't say that, I was a bit bemused by her attitude, and asked if she wouldn't mind bringing me a menu down, she left and about 5 minutes later a new member of staff came down with a menu and a story of that the chef had decided that he would change how he would serve the dish, I said OK, but at what point would a customer be told this, and also why has the waitress who was orginally asked for the menu not came down, I explained how the other waitress was quite rude and basically told me that I was wrong in how it came served, hence myself looking for the menu,there was no apology, or explanation as to the other waitresses attitude, or if I was ok with my food, which may I add was bland to say the least and as in 1st glance was more onion than meat I had 2 bites and left it. We were sat for ages after the mains were done with, eventually a staff member came back cleared our table didn't once ask if everything had been OK, asked if we wanted anything else, we decided to go for desserts as, well I was starving, dessert came it was lovely, then came payment, I was still annoyed over the waitress rude attitude so when I was at the till I seen she was at the serving hatch, back to us, she had seen us approaching the till turned away and remained with her back to us, I spoke to the waitress who had came to explain about chefs decision, she mentioned that the starters had been taken off our bill I asked why? Which I was responded with because of the confusion, I said there was no confusion I was treated rudely in fact an acknowledgement from the other waitress would be helpful, as to her attitude,sorry that can't be done, and im confused as to why my dish has been kept on when it was that dish that was the issue, no response, I asked who the manager was or were they around I was met with I can't give that information, I said really, I left very baffled, annoyed and well... still hungry.

Food average and expensive for what it is. Bits of food on floor. Table not well cleaned

Brilliant place, lovely food and very friendly staff. Highly recommended. I will definitely eat here again.

Lovely food especially the ribs

That was the worst food I’ve ever had in my life.. I wish I was over exaggerating! Nothing was right, half of it was cold and I’m writing this in the car home sweating ready to throw up. I got the Canadian burger and curly fries and I thought the chicken (which was old and not cooked) was fish! The thick oily batter on it was rotten and the “maple’ bacon was just some raw strips thrown in. I went with 3 others and it was all quite bad and for the price is insanity. They’ve gone so downhill and you’re basically paying for some food poisoning.

We went in the months after this place opened and were most unimpressed but after visiting at the weekend I have to say it was a lovely meal and the service was friendly and efficient. Was an unexpectedly lovely experience.

Very greasey food felt unwell after it

Very tasty! I got the lasagne and my boyfriend got the wagyu hickory burger and they were both absolutely delicious! Staff are lovely and food service was fast!

All Round Excellent First Time I've Been It Certainly Won't Be The Last

Service was a joke. Staff closing up around us from 7:30pm - made us feel really unwelcome even though it states it’s open until 9pm. Staff never checked back to see if our food was okay (pasta was very bland, chips very salty but starter was nice), had to get up to look for a staff member to get us more drinks. Staff never came to clear our plates or ask if we wanted dessert ( waited over 30 mins after finishing main). Explained this to staff member when we were paying our bill - she stated that they closed at 9, explained to her that we had been sat there for 30 mins after finishing our main which was long before 9pm. Staff member couldn’t care less. Would not recommend at all and we won’t be returning.

Such a disappointment. This is frozen food including the chips reheated. Paid £17 for overcooked, processed, bone dry crispy chicken that was chewy. Took me ages to eat this... The BBQ sauce was just a cold dip and not enough to combat the dryness. The coleslaw was also just about a teaspoon in a plastic container. I don't think it's ever acceptable for a restaurant not to serve freshly cut chips. We had planned on dessert but didn't take the risk. The staff were polite but no one at any point asked how the meal was including when paying. This is a large restaurant that only had a few tables on a Saturday night taken. It's really annoying to spend good money on a such an unpleasant experience. We won't be returning and we wouldn't be interested in visiting the other restaurants in this chain. Such a shame.

What a bunch of hippy dippy Bologna. Asked for pepperoni and got peppers. Asked for Oreo milkshake and got milk. Asked for appetiser and got knock off apple juice. Asked for food and waited 3 business days to receive it. Staff are all bluds

Very poor portion sizes though the food was great

We had a family meal here in July and one of us got severe stomach sickness next day I thought this was a coincidence. We went back in August and I got a very nasty case of food poisoning a few hours after the meal. I went into Rexy Jack's the next day to complain and was met with a very well rehearsed explanation that I couldn't have food poisoning as it was too soon / they had never had complaints before / their chicken was good. I left my details and was told a manager would call me. They did not bother to call me. ** AVOID THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET SICK AS WE DID - TWICE !!! **

Great food and friendly service 👌

This is definitely a go for American BBQ dinner. The quantity and quality is at its excellence. Was on our trip to Donegal and discovered this place. Would be definitely going again to order something new. The menu is itself so delicious to chose for one.

I have been to Rexys lots of times over the years. Overall I love going, the breakfasts are my favourite, but I love the sizzling plates too. My kids always eat their dinners here. On occasion it’s busy and then the waiting staff obviously take longer, but most often and especially recently when I’ve gone it’s been quick and friendly. It’s on the expensive side but no more so than similar diner style restaurants I have been to.

drove past this place on a day out, looked great from the road, so we checked it out online, looked good, set a date and in we went, it didn't disappoint, absolutely amazing food and service to match, cant wait to go back, get the small starters as portions are huge, thanks again.

Amazing as always, food here is devine and any time we pass through Omagh we have to stop. Burgers are unreal.. without s doubt we will be back. Definitely recommend. Staff are also brilliant, so friendly and attentive.

Awesome filling brekkie menu, very busy on a sunday morning, I guess all of Omagh had the same idea. Group of us went. We got a few dishes from the brekkie menu to try. Wow soo much on the plate. Great portions and really enjoyed. Been a few times lately and really enjoyed each time we go.

Lovely restaurant, nice decor based on dinosaurs. Burgers and chips very tasty, friendly, helpful staff. Toilets were a bit unpleasant would need cleaned throughout the day. Reasonable prices. Would definitely go again.

Decided to go here as my husband had eaten here a few weeks earlier and said it was lovely, so we order the same as he had the last time chicken in a light kentucky batter. Very disappointed 😞 chicken was over cooked eatable but not enjoyable. A bit pricey for the quality.Also shock when we were told it was £2.99 for 1/2 tin of coke. Think we will give it a miss the next time. Our server very very nice and they did offer to replace the meal and when we said no they offered a free desert or drink which we also declined.

Staff were so lovely ,great with children, always a smile on their face ,the second a dish was set up they were out to the table....portion sizes...wow!... menu not your run of the mill plain food...beautiful.. and large spacious restaurant with family vibe...my new favourite spot for sure!

Ate here twice, very nice inside and friendly staff, food is served really fast witch is brilliant. first time I was here was about a month ago and the food was amazing and they had a brilliant vegetarian menu. I couldn't wait to go back again so i went last night and they no longer have the vegetarian menu (there was 3 options on the main menu). I just ending up getting chips wile my bf had a starter and main the food recieve this time was just ok it could have been served warmer.

Great menu with lots of choice. Big portions and very reasonably priced! The loaded fries which as considered a side are easily a full meal if you are not a huge eater. The Dirt Bird fries are delicious. The children's chicken goujons are proper chicken in a lovely light batter. The restaurant is Jurassic Park themed, so kids will love it. A lot of the staff were young but very professional, polite and efficient and a credit to the restaurant. The coffee was Lavazza, which is always a win.

After reading so many negative reviews we had thought of going elsewhere. So glad we didn't ! I can't understand why so many complain about the restaurant as our meal was faultless. The service was excellent and friendly. All in all, a super evening out !!

Tasty food, decent portion sizes. Prompt efficient service

Have to say, staff were pleasant and helpful but the food served was below par. Sizzling Pepper Chicken, although the dish was Sizzling, the chicken and onion rings set on top were cold and little to no sauce and the burger was luke warm. Sent Chicken Dish back with Server, who came back with hot dish but found the Pepper Sauce to be watery and bland. Wouldn't recommend.

Had a meal this afternoon with partner, partner had a chicken burger which was inedible chicken was tough and chewy didn’t taste like chicken, batter on chicken was very greasy. Staff were friendly however never asked how our meal was despite food left on plate. We waited a good while for someone to come to table to collect our bill nobody came so had to get up and pay on way out. Not a good first time there.

I was very disappointed in the service and quality of food produced, I'm not going to rate this place at all. I just won't be back! plus when you have kids in playing their own music that loud you can't hear the ordinary music and. The staff do nothing! .i ordered food expecting it to be good quality,,, when I couldn't have been more wrong.. Baked jacked Potato skins with cheese and chicken mixed and grilled on top. Not even inside the potato. It was disgusting and chefing levels were not even there. The fries came out in a bowl, not even the garlic butter or chilli powder, mixed through the fries. It was thrown on top. Burger was dry as an old leather slipper in a soggy brioche bun, not fit to be lifted in hands. It was awful experience, bland tasteless, and soggy salad. Nothing was remotely correct. It needs to improve everything. This was worse than Mcds. Hit or Miss. Your choice id say, but this was my self experience. Over rated for sure.

13 of us are there last Sunday food was average at best Luke warm and very slow service took over 2 hours for three courses to ran out of mash potatoes before 2 o clock food kept in plastic bowels if you want tastey food served hot this place is not for you you will only be disappointed we will never be back there are plenty of good restaurants with better food and service .

Me and my family want to rexy Jack's recently and it was very disappointing. I got the bbq ribs which we just okay, they were only lukewarm. My mother and father both got a three course meal which was supposed to come with a free drink. I only got the one course so I eat it when they eat their starters. We waited about an hour until a waitress came and told us that they ran out of potatoes on a Sunday which shouldn't have happened. My pedants had to pick a different side to eat with their meals. When the food eventually came most of it was cold and tasteless. My mum had ordered a sex on the beach before we got our starters. Near the end of the main course, we had to call the waitress over to remind her that we had ordered drinks. It took about 10 more minutes for the waitress to come back out with the drinks but by this time the main course was already finished. We then ordered desserts which came about half an hour later and tasted shop bought. It was incredibly disappointing. I had ordered the white chocolate and red velvet cheesecake. When the dessert was brought over and I had tasted it, I couldn't believe we had to wait so long as all they had to do was take it out of th box they bought it in. The base of the cheesecake was soggy and the cheesecake was just strawberry flavour which was not what I ordered. My dad ordered the Christmas pudding. It was the smallest portion I have ever seen and was also shop bought. I would not go there if I were you as it is a massive letdown and not worth it.

As soon as I returned home and tasted the kids chicken burger meal, I immediately spat it out as chicken was inedible and definitely unfit for human consumption. My daughter had the Wolfgang burger which had a number of different meats. She did not seem to notice anything that was inedible., The following morning, I contacted Chloe the manager at Omagh restaurant and advised of the uneaten kids meal and that the chicken was off. She immediately was defensive in stipulating that food standards are stringent and that the chicken could not be off. I diplomatically pointed out that irrespective of her dismissive claims that the fact remained there was an uneaten meal that I had agreed to bring to her and that she would refund for the uneaten meal. It was at this stage that she informed me that if the chicken was off then there was chicken in the Wolfgang burger. I immediately ended conversation to phone my daughter and the nightmare unfolded whereby my daughter had already been in contact with out of hours and was treated for suspected food poisoning . She was violently ill throughout the night. Given that the chicken was inedible and seemingly off in the kids meal, one can logically deduce that it was the chicken in my daughters burger from this resturant that made her ill. I immediately informed Chloe at Rexy Jacks who passed on her area managers details. A rather elusive chap called Liam who failed to respond to any correspondence. The samples came back eventually not showing signs of food poisoning however advised that it was most likely out of her system within 24 hrs of being violently ill and it’s unfortunate and somewhat difficult to prove food poisoning As a loyal customer who has dined on several occasions historically without issues, I had reached out again to Chloe and assistant manager Emma to try and resolve the issue and give them a chance to act in goodwill to refund the money paid for uneaten meals and another meal that seemingly made my daughter violently ill. I explained that given suspected food poisoning and uneaten meals, it may have breached food safety standards and therefore legally or as a gesture of good faith as a loyal customer request a refund rather than progress matters further for compensation due to personal injury. I strongly believe that given the nature of the complaint and uneaten food, at the very least should be entitled to a a refund after suffering from suspected food poisoning. The Consumer Rights Act states that food should have been produced with reasonable skill and care, be of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. This clearly was not the case and if we had dined in rather than a takeaway costing almost £50, we would not have been charged for the uneaten meals. The attitude of all the managerial staff is one of avoidance. Unprofessional in saying that they will speak to other managerial staff snd Will call back within a day to no avail. It’s bad enough that this has happened but it’s your attitude in refusing to refund for uneaten meals. Since this incident, I have realised from looking at other reviews that I am not alone in my disappointment in inexperienced managerial staff who take a stance that if there is an allegation of suspected food poisoning they will not make any effort to engage or resolve the situation. Ribs were so, so dry. Like sawdust. Just bones. Service was terrible. We were completely forgotten about.

American styled diner, with dinosaur decor, (hence the Rexy, ie. Tyrannosaurus Rex) Definitely the place to go if you have a big appetite. The meals are large, good quality and great value. Service was friendly and efficient.

The food was very bad I would not recommend eating in there

8oz rump steak medium rare i ordered and it had no flavour and it was like chewing on a curb stone my mate also ordered a chicken stack and it was dreadful to say the least she didnt even eat it we were too embarrassed to say anything inside but it was awful

Terrible! My boyfriend and I were there last Saturday (after already having one bad experience a while back we wanted to give the place a second chance) We ordered chips with peppered sauce mushrooms peppers etc can’t remember what it was actually called… and a side of veg. We both ordered the exact same thing. They forgot one whole meal only brought one dish to the table with the two sides. We were told to wait a few minutes… next thing the food comes, it looked very rushed and just thrown together AND they forgot the sauce that the whole thing was meant to be mixed with. By the time the sauce came the food was cold. I would understand if the place was super busy but it was empty and 4 men standing in the kitchen doing nothing. Ice machine was broken so no cocktails. The girl dealing with all was super nice very professional so the service was fab! Unfortunately everything else was a disaster. The side veg was literally carrots and pees from a frozen bag… defo won’t be back!!

One of the best burgers I have had. Traveled over an hour to get there and was not disappointed. Great BBQ food. Looking forward to trying the other items on their menu Decor in the restaurant is very fun and well made Would definitely recommend

Fully recommend the pulled brisket and goujons

Terrible. We were here last month. Our food was cold, it took that long to come I just ate what I could of it, my mother sent hers back to be reheated. It came back over done, dry and hard. My neice ordered nuggets, we go 3 goujons which were hard, dry and over done. Over all just very very disappointing after hearing good reviews. We would have been safer going to McDonald's or KFC. We will never be back nor would we recommend anyone to go here.

we ate here lunch time 23/08/22. I had been telling my partner how amazing this location was based on previous experiences a few years ago when the place was new. unfortunately the 2 burgers we ordered had no form of sauce in them, the actual meat patty was much drier than ive had before, there was zero seasoning in the meat patty and the “taco chips” was literally a drizzle over the top. i had to ask the waitress twice for additional napkins and £3.95 for a coke is simply ludicrous. I used to enthuse about this place but i now feel embarrassed to have recommended it. I was not the only one as a table behind us returned all their food too. im so disappointed and I hate that.

The ribs were amazing! Pizza wasn’t that good, but who goes to a rib place to eat pizza right? The burgers were also average at best. Ribs and service gets the five stars from me though!

Nice food, decent prices, interesting surroundings

Great variety throughout the menu! Literally a book! So much choice which was amazing! Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was that I felt that the food wasn't the most fresh! Tasted great none the less and the staff were very friendly and helpful!

Best place to eat out in Omagh area

The food is not great at all, stay away from the Mamma’s fried chicken, it was mini fillets really over cooked with barely any coating on them, very chewy.

Very disappointed with food. New food meun look good especially vegetarian. But all foods were not nice to eat. Either too dry or too wet or no much flavour. 4 of us had different choose food. We all agree that we won’t come back there again. So disappointed

Great place for a big feed. Well spaced out seating, friendly staff and the food never disappoints. Highly recommended and right beside the cinema for a movie night. Plenty of parking spaces available.

If you want a good hearty feed this will tick the box for you. Stopped here on the way through to Donegal from Belfast and read the reviews which were mixed but decided to eat anyway. The staff were lovely, the food was plenty and v v tasty, the kids were grumpy when they arrived and left happy campers, which meant we were happy parents. Will definitely stop again on the way through. Thanks

Visited as a family group of 9, mix of adults and kids. The staff very helpfully rearranged the booths to accommodate us. Service was prompt and friendly through. Everyone enjoyed their food and were all positive on their first visit here. Lots of great burgers...

Well this place didnt was a welcome surprise!! Was driving by and popped in, glad I did I can safely say. That monster burger was the nicest burger I ate in a long time!! 3 big Aberdeen Angus beef burgers, 2 korean chicken strips and pulled pork with a delicious sauce on it. Some eating I can tell u, side dish was great 2. Short of having the waitresses (who were a delight by the way) on roller skates I dont think u will get a better American diner style experience anywhere in this country than this wee place. Very reasonable prices 2, that feast in my picture was only £14.99!! Would recommend u hit this place up if ur hungry (and I mean hungry btw cause big feed lol) and in omagh direction

Good range of food for vegetarians and meat eaters very good food reasonably priced

This diner in located in the same building as the Omniplex cinema in Omagh. I had time on my hands before the film I was going to see, so I popped in here for a cake and a coffee. The hot orange cake and cappuccino were excellent and I'd definitely pop in again to try something else. There's plenty of free parking beside the diner.

Wasn’t terrible. Certainly wasn’t amazing. Food was edible and service was ok. I had caesars salad starter and creamy pasta main which was mediocre. Colleague’s curly fries came in a bowl of oil which didn’t look too appetising. Probably wouldn’t recommend.

Food is amazing kid friendly really enjoyed our evening out

The food was good, lots of it (only get a starter if you are up for a Man (or Woman) vs. Food moment) with so much choice it really is one of those times where you may need extra time to choose! Our waitress was excellent and friendly. The wait for the food was slightly longer than you would hope, but by no means over the top, however the strength of the cocktails meant a starter would probably have been a good idea! If you are really hungry and want something US themed with portions to match this is for you.

Want Saturday lunch on the 22nd jan . Happy that all restrictions had been lifted and was asked to provide a covid pass. Ask why she wanted proof I was told they were still insisting. We immediately left and had a lovely lunch at the Ranch diner in Omagh.

Went here for a meal with my family even though restrictions have been lifted we was refused entry for not having our vaccine certs Went 2 minutes down the road and had a wonderful meal no problems. Seen about another 10 people turned away for the same reason

Duck spring rolls are straight out of an Iceland box, Mac n cheese straight from a tin. Very cheap , very poor food. Cutting corners using cheap food doesn't work when you charge premium price on the menu

Decent place for some classic diner food. We brought our niece and nephew and they loved it. Dietary restrictions weren't marked and it was difficult to ascertain what was gluten free.

Meat lover's haven serving great ribs, wings and burgers. Go for the mixed grill if you are really starved and you won't be disappointed. Friendly staff and very reasonably priced.

Happened to be looking for somewhere to get a breakfast at 11am on a Sunday and what a great breakfast it was. Was highly recommended by a friend. It was absolutely perfect . Quick polite service. Really excellent. Great parking spaces also.
