Such a beautiful pamper day/ staff were amazing and couldn't do enough

Avoid afternoon tea We visited goldies lounge for afternoon tea and the lack of customers/atmosphere was not a good sign. Opted for the £40 sparkling afternoon tea option. Sandwiches and scones were nice but cakes clearly not homemade and of poor quality, no patisserie skills and mostly cream or dry cake. Asked for more sandwiches as is usual and expected for £40 and told we had to pay for another afternoon tea to get more. Very poor and will not return. Complaints raised with staff at the time

We came as a couple for my birthday and the whole experience was worth every penny! The setting is stunning with lovely grounds for gentle strolls. If the sun comes out then it's a real bonus. The room was a great size, plenty of pillows, comfortable bed, and impeccably clean bathroom. Little fridge in room was v handy for snacks and drinks. Brilliant breakfast - plenty of choice and replenished regularly. Lovely to enjoy it by the window with the view. We only booked the Leisure Club facilities but this was plenty for a swim / sauna etc. There are specific adult-only areas and times so definitely check with the team. Loads of towels, lockers, mirrors, products and the whole area was clean and nicely maintained. We ate at Redmonds - lots of options, generous portions, good wine list and a fun atmosphere. The staff across the whole estate are kind, well-mannered, attentive, helpful and so considerate. Every single person made us feel so welcome and special. Relaxed atmosphere with a real happy buzz about the place.

Beautiful hotel a bit out of the way .lovely rooms lots for kids to do.nice staff.my only complaint its to hot.maybe turn the heating down a few degrees. Had a nice stay.

An absolutely stunning place to stay. The room was massive and food was delicious. Really wish we had stayed another night to enjoy the spa properly.

Spa experience was good but the evening session is shorter coz of dinner. You loose 1 hour of spa during dinner. Otherwise package is good but pricey considering there are no massages included.

Nice hotel with many relaxing facilities. PGA golf. Park with sculpture garden and vineyard. The food is good. Waiting staff could do with more smiles. The entire hotel was far too hot, so the air conditioning in the room always had to be on. This did not cause any noise, by the way.

Beautiful spa experience but very disappointing afternoon tea. Lack of tea options, no variation of cakes and dry and boring sandwiches. A real let down to the end of a lovely day!

I cannot emphasise enough how lovely the staff were, how professional they were, how the dining experience at the vines restaurant was - from the presentation of the food, the texture and the taste….it was immaculate! Their spa experience was excellent and I will definitely go again and again. Worth every penny! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

I just want to thank the staff here from the bottom of my heart. I purchased the Chester zoo package which included an overnight stay. The hotel was Incredible, but I want to particulay emphasize the excellence of the staff, because for me they truly made our short stay wonderful. They were kind, attentive, professional, fun to speak to about our day, just so nice. We don't usually stay in places this up market admittedly, so we were people watching a little when going about our evening. Your staff interact with rude guests so well. I couldn't really understand why the guests were so mad and maybe have formed some of my own stereotypes because of it. When we arrived, we were upgraded to an estate view, thank you so much. We had dinner in the Redmond's, incredible, loved speaking to the staff and their recommendations as well. Service was faultless. Then I proposed in the very big gardens! She said yes. We returned and of course had some room service because why not? Next morning, we had a breakfast buffet, what a treat. You can tell the difference between a Toby's breakfast and here. After, we spent some time in the leisure club. It was probably the cleanest pool we've ever been in. The leisure club was also incredible, so we might have to pop back and see what the spa is like! After we checked out and went about our day. Thank you again for the lovely stay, it was perfect and so nice, and thank you to your staff.

I went for spa day in the afternoon. The layout of the spa was great. Sue was amazing and very helpful. All the other staff was very professional. Special thanks to Elements for the delish afternoon tea and strong tea as well as requested. Must try-outdoors was pods, herbal sauna and outdoor pool. Indoors must try-aroma aqua sauna, trapezium and Finnish sauna. I thoroughly enjoyed my spa afternoon at Carden. Calm, relaxed and chilled. Much needed during colder months. So lucky we had sunshine all day. I would definitely be back and highly recommend with friends ✌🏽✨️

We attended for a late christmas present! Fine dining and spa stay! Absolutely amazing spa afternoon, gorgeous facilities and superb treatment! We had booked the Vines Fine Dining tasting menu and chose to add on the wine flight. The food was exquisite and allowed me to explore dishes from would never have picked from a menu…. I was not disappointed the food was delicious Special thanks to Julian who took to the time to make our evening so special, explaining the wine choice, the origin of the wine and why it had been paired with the dish… nothing was too much trouble! Overall an amazing experience. Only one criticism would be the sizing of the spa ropes for quests of a larger stature like myself (however to be fair I did not ask if there was an alternative) Highly recommended and will defo be returning!!

The most amazing spa stay we have ever had (we do a lot of them) you will not be disappointed coming here believe me!! The actual spa is something else! Redmonds restaurant inside is very reasonably priced and the food is amazing! So fresh and tasty, compliments to the chef! A lovely young lady called Elysha checked us in, could not do enough for us, so friendly and professional (as where all of the staff here) Lucy (waited on us at redmonds restaurant) was such a lovely young lady, a pleasure and a credit to the restaurant, and Matthew at goldies bar made us the most unreal cocktails and was a lovely young man! Will 100% be coming back here!

Top notch spa experience with afternoon tea

Me and my girlfriend have just been for 2 nights and celebrated new years there, everything from start to finish was perfect!

We got to Carden about 3pm . Lovely and helpful staff at the reception. I asked loads of questions (and they were patient with me) as it was a last minute decision and I had no time to look through activities beforehand. After getting a little hang of possible activities, decided to spend the evening at the pool side. Nice and intimate . Wish the heat experience w as open to ‘older’ kids. The steam, sauna , hot tub were restricted to adults only. The next morning after a nice breakfast we went over to Pursuits which is the activity center. The staff there were so warm and welcoming, 5 stars for that! We got the Segway experience for about an hour including briefing and ‘training’, which we received in a smaller area before setting out on the hotel grounds. Our instructor was patient and great 👍🏾 . It was our first time and we had fun. Unfortunately one of the duo had a minor fall but he was cared for so well by the staff. We had a little break then off to the Vertigo which is a two level, high ropes course which was stated to take 2 hours for the experience! The duo eventually refused to go on lol, I didn’t blame them at the end, any child would think twice. I think there should be a more realistic age limit (it’s currently set at 6, my kids just turned 11😅) or a promise of a part refund 😅. Because they didn’t get on, rest of us experienced just one level and did the zip line just so we could all leave. The pillow drop which I choose was sadly out of commission for the day. The upper level looked much cooler and harder to navigate than the first level. We weren’t able to do all the activities we wanted like quad biking for the kids or archery etc for all of us because we didn’t book on time/weather for some. Carden has packages like Golf experience, spa experience , there is also a playground, sculpture garden etc . Be sure to explore the website ahead of time and make your bookings online or via call. Overall a lovely, lovely experience despite the rain. We stayed overnight. Would Great for family hangouts/picnics and team building fun. Would love to return when it’s warmer for sure.

Absolutely loved our experience there. The view was stunning and location was gorgeous. The staff shouldn't have been more accommodating and polite. The only reason I gave 4 stars for the room was the amount of noise it let in. Several times we were woken up throughout the night by noisy guests, so perhaps noise insulation could've been better. Otherwise, our stay was excellent. Highly recommended. We'll definitely be going back

The rooms are little outdated, however the estate itself is brilliant. Great scenery in and around and they also cater halal options.

Travelled here for business and it was a beautiful place with spacious rooms, great conference facilities and also the food catered for all dietary requirements without having to ask. I travel a lot for work and it's very rare I am impressed with a place, but this honeslty had it all and worth a visit or business trip

We arrived at lunch time check in was smooth and the reception staff were professional friendly,and informative. Lunch was adequate, but the staff need an up date on service, plenty of staff but lack of training means they weren't cleaning the tables several customers actually cleaned their own table. Lunch of stale ciabatta bre ad, wasn't very appealing The hotel was very comfortable, excellent decor, in public rooms also the bedroom where tastefully decorated. The spa was an added bonus this alone made the trip . Well staffed,by informative staff a most enjoyable weekend.

Lovely relaxing place to stay with super friendly and helpful staff.

Rooms are basic, aging and need a good clean. Bed was uncomfortable and the radiator, which was turned off, was loud meaning a poor night's sleep. Bar in shooting Lodge had very slow service, not at all the fault of the staff that were trying their hardest. Breakfast was lovely. Staff were overall very good. Has so much potential but falls short. Unless there for the golf or spa, I'd say you'd be better staying at somewhere like the Premier Inn in Chester itself

Lovely venue just can not justify some of their prices. Booked a spa day but was constantly having to pay little extras here and there for the day.

Beautiful hotel. Immaculate facilities. Unbelievable grounds. Delay on tea/coffee offering at breakfast if you don't want machine coffee, but that was the only 'issue'!

Looks a little dated in the main area. Sat there for half an hour whilst the bar staff were busy laughing and joking with themselves. Not a great service.

Stayed here for conference location was lovely if you like being miles away from civilisation but it was pretty. food in restaurant expensive but lovely. food provided for the conference meals was very poor but that was probably the fault of my company rather than hotel.

Not quite a 5 star, but more than a 4. The hotel and grounds are lovely and are in a great place to explore Cheshire, Chester, Wales and Shropshire. The leisure centre within the hotel has enough facilities to make the extra spend for the spa pointless (unless treatments are a must), swimming pool, hydro pool, steam room, sauna and tepidarium beds. The staff in the leisure centre are very friendly and are more than happy to whip you up a cocktail by the pool from the extensive menu! 😉 Reception staff are great and willing to help you out with anything. I think we stayed in room 432 Montreux which is in one of the outbuildings with a balcony view over the new spa building, the room itself was large and comfortable, however it could do with a bit of refurbishment as it was starting to look a little tired. It looked like this was happening in the other buildings, so sure it will happen soon. We ate in Redmonds Brasserie on the first night, and although there were elements of the meal that were amazing (the dessert), I wasn't overly enamoured with main meal. I had the steak burger and was told I could only have it well done which inevitably made it very dry, my wife had the chicken was apparently nice. The bar area near reception was lovely, with roaring fires to sit next to and soak up the atmosphere and ambience. Would we stay here again? In a heartbeat. Would we eat in the Brasserie again? Probably not. We only used it as a base, but there are loads of things to do on the grounds, Golf on 2 Championship courses, archery, climbing walls, Segway adventures, shooting and a high rope assault course.

Worst stay of my whole life! Management team are absolutely appalling. The grounds are spectacular and the hotel has high potential but was completely let down by the service/ rooms & food. Hotel should not be advertised as luxury - it’s dirty and basic! Our bedding was ripped and carpets/ sofa had stains all over them. Cobwebs & spiders everywhere. Food is nothing short of canteen style so if you’re looking for a plush staycation… save your money, time and hopes for somewhere else. I’d have rather stayed in a backpackers! Hotel needs a complete refresh so if you’re visiting the spa… do NOT book to stay over! Tried to express our disappointment with the staff but they were not interested, was an extremely stressful day … not to mention I am pregnant & it was my birthday. I ended up crying and pleading to the manager to refund us and he refused, admitting he had the ability to do so but simply didn’t want to! AWFUL HOTEL, please do not go!!!

We are coming to Carden Park every year, and it's an amazing relaxing experience. Carden Park Spa is one of the best I have ever been to.

Great golf trip. Hotel is superb. Service, food, pool/sauna/steam room all top notch. Golf course was very wet but playable, which is a huge credit to the golf team. A great time had by my party. Will be back!

Visited for my daughter's wedding. Fabulous location. Staff were incredible, Service was top notch and the food fabulous. The additional sports and spa facilities are excellent.

All spa packages come with a meal and despite staying at the hotel, spa access is neither included with treatments nor available to be purchased separately. When already visiting for a lunchtime conference this is extremely unhelpful and wasteful.

Excellent services, room was clean and beautiful with a balcony over looking the garden. Five star🌟 fine dinning what else? Regret not booking the spa. All round fantastic experience worth every penny. Will do again 👍

Took my better half for a spa day for her birthday, while it's not the cheapest option out there, you certainly feel like you're getting what you paid for, nothing is too much trouble, the whole place is geared for relaxation and the treatments were great. We'll be back.

Me, my husband and young son dined here over the Christmas period and had a lovely and relaxed experience. It was fancy enough to make an effort with dress but relaxed enough to feel family friendly. My son thought the service was exceptional and even got upset that he couldn’t finish his dinner, incase he upset someone haha. Will return.

The food at the Redmonds restaurant was divine. It was honestly the tastiest meal I've ever had! Every member of staff we encountered was so helpful and friendly, we genuinely felt very welcomed here. The spa day was incredible, the spa garden was so much fun and the drinks service straight to the hot tub was a nice touch! Inside, the spa facilities were luxurious and the ice water fountain was cool, haven't seen anything quite like this before. Overall, an amazing stay.

The restaurant was part of our golf package so we had an allowance each night which would have covered 2 courses easily. There were plenty of options even for my husband and he is a fussy/selective eater. The food was gorgeous and the staff excellent.

From the minute we walked in, the service was brilliant. We were greeted by a lovely smiley lady. We were seated and the staff looking after us were attentive and lovely. One young lady was training and was brilliant, as was the young man training her. We had the pea and mint soup and goat’s cheese salad for starters. SUPERB !!! For main we had the burger and Sea bass. EVERYTHING was perfect temperature , so tasty and filling. I can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you x

We had a business conference at this wonderful venue and what a terrific setting. Alongside the superb rooms, food and staff we took advantage of some of the activities as well. These were superb team builders delivered by experts and in a fun way. It was also not as expensive as you think looking at the venue so we'll worth an enquiry.

Fantastic stay with two very good golf courses, good spa and dining facilities, but best of all GENUINELY NICE AND COMPETENT STAFF. People at clubhouse nice and chatty, but got myself in a tough position needing some printing from a mac-based application and the girls at reception (Carys and Dani - apologies if spelling bad!) got everything sorted and then delivered to me during dinner. Honestly can’t remember service like it (would have been a hassle for them to sort and easy to just say no). 10/10 guys would recommend for all types of trips (I was a golf trip and best facilities we’ve been too)

Amazing Spa Day, We spent the afternoon here for a Spa day just using the facilities. Great choice of jacuzzi's sauna's steam rooms with the option of both the indoor and outdoor pool! Loved the fact there was a bar area where you could get drinks throughout the day. Ruth was great and gave us a good overview of the facilities whilst serving us lunch before we headed down to the Spa area. Will definitely be back!

Nice rooms and spa. The garden spa was our favourite, was lovely in the sun. Some of the staff in the spa were unhelpful e.g when we received the wrong food at afternoon tea, not being able to operate the lockers with the magnetic bracelet etc.

We stayed two nights and enjoyed the food , especially the fish pie , burger and steak Puddings also good

Using some vouchers from gifts we opted for the spa and dine package. Relaxing massage was good and all staff and facilities there were excellent. We upgraded to the taster menu in the Vines restaurant. I want to mention all the staff in there by name, because they were all friendly, professional, personable and knowledgeable. Valerie, Abi, Rhian and Lucy. It was fairly busy, but between the 4 of them, service was excellent and courses were time managed well. Food was good and wine flight went well. It was pricey, but I couldn't fault the service or food served. Our room was a little basic for the price. A couple of niggles such as usb points on lights not working, and door handles loose. Breakfast was buffet and decent enough. Again though, the staff were excellent in there, as were the reception desk staff. All in all, a lovely, if quite expensive stay. (We chose to do the extras so fully accepting of cost)

Me and my partner have just got home from a two night stay here and we can honestly say it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish, the spa was amazing definitely worth the money and was a nice relaxing afternoon we both needed. We also did the vertigo which was a great experience. The whole stay was overall excellent would definitely recommend to anyone and we will be looking to book back very soon!

We are a company that provides games for events (crazy golf on this occasion) (jukebox45s) and we did so here earlier this week. Staff were very positive helpful and I'm grateful for their time.

Really mixed experience here to be honest. The rooms are nice enough but very hot and not ducted with air conditioning so difficult to cool, for the price of the rooms I'd expect much much more. The service in the hotel was good for all save one experience of really slow service on bar drinks followed by undrinkable cocktails. These were however not charged due to the wait, with no discussion which is a good sign. However service from other staff and other cocktails was excellent and couldn't fault. Food in the restaurant was ok, not great or amazing and again for the prices you'd expect much better food. The service was ok but food arrived before drinks and we were left waiting to place desert orders for a while. They were busy though, but again you'd expect better. Breakfast was great. Rest of experience with the staff in the hotel was good and where there were issues these were quickly remedied. We also visited the spa and this is by far the best spa I've been to. The staff are brilliant, beyond accomodating serving drinks and checking in with you regularly. The facilities are fantastic, lots of choice and lots of availability so what would feel busy at another spa was fine at Carden. The treatment was amazing and the afternoon tea (one gluten free person) was very tasty and good value. I absolutely would not hesitate in returning to or recommending the spa. I wouldn't, sadly, recommend the hotel although I will be back for a wedding in just over a year! Will update my review :)

The best place for relax and good food Spa is 100% very good 😍

Me and my friend visited the spa 25th April and I can say it was the best spa day we’ve ever been on. I was worried £95 wasn’t going to be worth just using the spa but it 100% was worth it. We didn’t want to leave. There were no faults what so ever and we will definitely be returning :) All the staff were lovely The afternoon was amazing There was a gorgeous smell when we arrived in the reception, I would love to know what it was.

We went to the Spa at Carden and had an amazing time. Our experience was made that much better by the lovely bar staff at Carden especially Erin who was super lovely and chatty to with us. We also participated in the vertigo experience and had an amazing time. Went up with a lovely instructor called Dec, Who made our time even more enjoyable with his friendly personality and banter allowing us to have more fun throughout the course.

There's only one word, Amazing!!!!!

The spa was excellent and stay was enjoyable just spoiled from a few drunks sat out in smoking area at 3am on Friday night being loud and singing as my room overlooked it . But otherwise I can highly recommend it and hope to have a return visit in the future. All the staff and facilities are excellent.

Beautiful place everything was nice

Wow, just amazing, what a weekend!!! Everything was fabulous, from the brilliant food in the many different restaurants to choose from to the endless facilities that will keep you entertained for a week such as the Segways, archery, tennis, rifle shooting, 2x golf courses, driving range and the unbelievable Spa to name but a few. Cannot wait to come back!!! IMPORTANT EDIT MUST READ: Well after leaving the above very favourable review on the day of our return we found out that my partner had unfortunately forgotten her toiletries bag in the batheroom so we immediately contacted Carden Park who said they would speak with the cleaning staff and locate, which they did the same day and said they would post back to us. Which they did but unfortunately a brand new unopened bottle of perfume was missing from the bag which was a present from myself and cost in the region of £140. We immediately contacted them but they were less than helpful and basically said there is nothing further they can do which has left an incredibly sour taste. We were absolutely going to return following this visit but the lack of help and level of disinterest was incredible, we will never return and I will advise everyone that I know of this level of poor customer service.

We had the spa afternoon with afternoon tea and could not fault it. The staff were friendly and efficient and the facilities are excellent.

Carden Park- Cheshire’s Country Estates: This country resort has immense manicured grounds that reflect a tradition of excellence and 5 star services. The rooms are traditional and spotless with spectacular amenities and staff. We had a short stay that finished in their dining room… You’d have a hard time finding a more polished dining room anywhere in Wales (or the U.K. for that matter). We were there to take in a Wrexham AFC game, which combined to create the perfect mix of sports and country relaxation. Thank to the staff. The hotel and grounds are as historically amazing as they are immense.
