I always recommend Red Snapper to friends visiting Brighton, I've been going for many years and have only had a wonderful experience. The food is consistently delicious, the atmosphere is warm and friendly, the staff are lovely.

The food tasted very good and the staff were very friendly! The design of the restaurant was very interesting and felt cosy.

The previous week, we had a lovely dinner there. We both love the steamed sea bass, and the food was incredibly authentic and delicious! We also tried pad Thai, which had wonderful flavours and amounts, although we felt it was a little too sweet. The staffs are incredibly attentive and pleasant. The place is small, but we felt comfortable and at ease there.The price is really reasonable with good portions. Sorry for the second photo as we forgot to take the steamed sea bass and it literally were gone. We would definitely will come back and recommend sea bass!

Red Snapper lives up to all of the positive things that people have to say about it. The food is absolutely delicious. The service is great; friendly, helpful, attentive without being disruptive and so on. There is a nice level of energy there too. A really lovely experience. I'm looking forward to my next meal there. Highly recommended, 9/10

Best Thai iv ever had, even having Thai friends that cook, this is 100% authentic I ended up ordering 2 dishes for myself just to try and of course I finished them all my stomach didn’t thank me later 😞 but the food was amazing!!!!!!!! Will be back! The staff were a absolute credit to the place to, so friendly!!!!

I just finished eating some noodles I got to take away, it was absolutely delicious, so sweet and delicious, vegetables full of flavour, noodles so chewy and satisfying, the owner was so kind to me and so hospitable, even gave me a free sparkling water too, what a kind and genuine man

The host in a peach Ferrari hat was very arrogant as soon as we walked through the door. Moving us aside abruptly before asking if we had a reservation. Service was slow and continued to be very pretentious. Told we had 50 minutes to eat, so we only ordered soup and rice. By the time it arrived, we had less than 20 mins to eat. I understand that kitchens can be busy but I would rather someone be honest with me so I can go somewhere else and actually enjoy my time. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Red Snapper is amazing! The staff is super friendly, always asking about allergies and they even gave us hot tea on a rainy day. The food is so authentic, taking me straight to Thailand. The chill vibe, music, and incense make it a cool place to hang out. Must try!

We had a great meal last night at Red Snapper. We had the whole seabass between two which came with a lovely coconut sauce and vegetables, a fantastic pad see ew and jasmine rice. It was all delicious. We took our own bottle of wine. Service was friendly and efficient. A great little family-run local restaurant with reasonable prices.

He went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was enjoyable, offering excellent recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed. Todd's warmth and attentiveness added an extra touch of hospitality that made the meal even more delightful. I can't wait to visit Red Snapper again and be greeted by such a wonderful staff member!

Fantastic, authentic Thai food in a vibrant and lively setting. Staff are all lovely and will make sure you are taken care of! We shared a Tom kha soup as a starter, which was outstanding had a chicken massaman and my partner had a tofu pad see ew and both were brilliant. Highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys flavours! Booking strongly suggested to avoid disappointment!

Was craving Thai and Red Snapper popped up super close to me so headed down for dinner. Booking is a must. Got the specials for starters (fried squid) and the classic prawn toast. Loved the green chilli sauce that comes with fried squid! For main we got chicken in sweet chilli and tamarind and oh my gosh. Such beautiful flavours of lemongrass and basil! My favourite thing from them!! Also ordered the beef noodles and the owner brought out spicy chilli flakes for us to put us on top and I LOVED them so much (I like my extra hot spice) I even put it in coconut rice at the end and had that. (Yes it's not for the faint of heart lol). All in all , recommend to try this place!

Good service. The mains were exceptionally good, though I thought the starters were just OK. I recommend the pad see ew, and the sweet chilli and tamarind oil main dishes.

Such an amazing restaurant!! Food was soooo delicious, and it came really quickly! Service was great, the staff were keen to recommend dishes and ensure we had considered the specials (so glad they did because we had one of the specials and it was unreal!!) We had the crispy squid to start which came with a range of really fragrant and delicious sauces. Then shared the green curry and the pad see ew, both so full of flavour. Loved the homemade lemon ice tea too. Really great place, I highly recommend!!

Got food poisoning confirmed by a trip to the doctor's. Very disappointed. Obviously we will not be going back here anytime soon.

Been walking past this place many times and finally went in today with our friends and families for lunch. We had the most delicious lunch (curries and stir fry’s and all amazing) and were treated with great smiles despite the daunting prospect of toddlers and kids. Very smooth and happy experience. Nice atmosphere and music. Loved the vibe and will definitely be back!

I love this place and we went there for a date night. Menu is short and unfussy which is always good sign. They do everything very well judging by the lovely plates of food being brought out by the wonderful staff who are friendly, playful and the right side of attentive. We had a prawn cracker starter with chilli and satay sauce dips, a prawn massaman curry and crispy tofu chilli special with coconut rice. Generous portions and all of it delicious. BYO so you can pop next door to a well stocked wine shop or local CO-OP. Incredibly good value and highly recommended. We will definitely be going back again soon.

Great Thai in the heart of seven dials. Would recommend booking as this place does get extremely busy and they do operate on a hour booking slot. Food is quickly served and the Pad See Ew is delicious! Came here with friends and as a couple, I felt slightly rushed in a larger group but for couples this is plenty of time. If you are looking for delicious Thai food that is quick and in a quirky atmosphere then this is the place for you! Also don't forget to BYOB.

Food is reasonably good, 7/10, more a street food vibe. Quite scruffy inside. Very busy in a weekend with not a lot of space. BYOB is a bonus nowadays although £2-3 corkage is a little unreasonable when people have no choice but to bring their own otherwise you don't have a drink. Service fairly good, although you do feel rushed by the staff. Menu had inaccurate prices - needs updating

The lady who served us remembered the name of my dog from a conversation we had the last time we visited! This alone would have justified a review (my dog’s name is Bert, by the way, should you ever meet us about the streets of Brighton) but you’re mainly interested in the food, aren’t you? Well, lucky for you I can tell you all about that, too: The noodles are excellent. They obviously do something magical and secret in the kitchen to make them this way. We also enjoyed the prawn cashew stir fry. The prawn to ‘not prawn’ ratio is generous. Lastly, if you eat meat, the beef nam-tok salad is both spicy and fresh, and comes especially recommended. Bring your own booze/ come for the food/ stay for the deeply lovely people.

Vibe is nice but didn't like the pad Thai at all

It was a little bit of a random find for us... We ignored the small amount of negative reviews and I am So glad we did. The food was seriously good and had its own little twist on things. Its a Thursday night and there is only one small table free... So it has its fans. The staff are really good but also cool people... if I am still allowed to refer to someone as cool. A great vibrant place.... But on top of that the music was refreshingly happening! Top marks from me... Just book!

Fantastic meal for my husband's birthday! The staff were so patient and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and everything was done with a smile. We had corn fritters, pad Thai, and tofu curry. The last time I'd had a meal at Red Snapper was in the location on Waterloo Street. I won't leave it as long next time.

Had a very lovely meal at Red Snapper. The staff were very friendly and approachable, the restaurant was cozy, and the food was delicious. It's BYOB, but with Seven Cellars a few doors down, that's a win win for everyone involved. Their ice tea was great, as were the chicken satay, noodles, and Thai curry, and all good value for money. Definitely book ahead! Always seems busy when I walk by. Looking forward to going back!

We had a lovely meal at the red snapper. The service was amazing and all of the staff were genuinely lovely. I have a (non severe) nut allergy and they were incredibly comforting, which most places aren’t. We had the sweet corn fritters, veg crackers, tofu green curry and tofu noodles. Everything was delicious, and it was great that there’s so many veggie options. The meal was really reasonably priced and even better that it was BYOB - there’s a coop right next door so it’s easy to pick up a bottle. I never leave reviews but we really had a great time here and would highly recommend it.

Phillipe is an amazing warm sentient host. Can't wait to go back. This is how Brighton USED to be. You'll get a hug! I haven't been hugged since my wife died, and I went in on the day that the pup in my lodgings died this week, my constant companion for 6 months, I digress. And the food is awesome, pad Thai for me. We booked a table and were glad we had as several people were turned away. When we booked for 6.30 they called us back and said they would need the table back by 8,or we could have a later table for the night. Glad for the offer but we were going on to see a band so happy to vacate by 8. The restaurant was busy on our arrival but our table was quickly cleared for us and water and menus provided. Service was friendly and knowledgeable about the food. It is BYO with a corkage charge of £2 per bottle. We shared prawn toast to start which came with a dip and was delicious. We then shared a noodle dish with chicken and a green curry with beef and one portion of rice, all good. The only downside was that when the table was cleared the bill was presented without us asking even though we had not finished our wine and it was not even 7.30pm. We ignored it but it was quickly followed up by a waitress with the card machine asking how we wanted to pay. Lovely restaurant and food a little to eager to turn tables. The bill came to around 35 pounds.

We had a great evening at The Red Snapper, which was very busy, with a lovely atmosphere. All the staff were so friendly, and explained the different dishes. The food was delicious and very generous portions. And there is a very small corkage charge for BYOB which helped keep the bill down. A lovely evening - thank you!

I used to come here (let's just say the days pre pandemic). Red Snapper for me used to contend with other Thai restaurants in the area however sadly for it is an average place now. Every time you walk past it seems buzzing which is a great sign for them but is it really down to the food or is it the quirky atmosphere, pink lights, and the fact that it's bring your own booze? When I visited I ordered the prawn pad thai noodles and a dish of Red Snapper. The food came to the table very quickly (which is always a slight concern). The pad thai noodles were very soft and a little on the mushy side which made me feel that this was possibly pre made in batches and had been microwaved. The biggest let down was their signature dish which is what they name their restaurant after ........... the Red Snapper. The fish arrived on the plate in three small cubes that had been battered and deep fried. It was like a starter portion. In the past you used to get a nice small fillet of the red snapper but how times have changed. The staff and atmosphere here are lovely but it should always be down to the food which unfortunately is not on par and neither are the portion sizes.

It's hard to write this review because it's such a well kept secret. This is my favorite place to eat in 7 Dials and my favorite place to eat in Brighton. My wife and I lived in Southeast Asia for 6 years and the food is as close to our experience as you're likely to get. Most importantly, it's run by fantastic people who really know their patrons. If you can get a seat, get in there and sample some of this fantastic food and warm hospitality. If your server is Todd, know you're in great hands.

Best Thai in Brighton. Simple as that! The restaurant is small so not ideal for large gatherings, but that only adds to the charm

Was overcharged as their online menu was out of date since they increased prices. You can’t advertise one price then charge another, that’s quite illegal! They wouldn’t back down so I just paid in the end. The food and the menu used to be much better and varied on previous visits, now just a bit meh. I prefer Giggling Squid so will go back there from now on.

Lovely local place. BYO booze is a bonus but that does mean its very popular and noisy at weekends. Small menu featuring.... Red Snapper fish along with other Thai staples. Everything prepared by them including the curry paste so always fresh! Always good and my favourite place to go.

Leckeres thailändisches Essen, etwas teuer aber empfehlenswert. Wasser gibt es kostenlos dazu, wir würden wiederkommen :) es lohnt sichte reservieren oder früh zu kommen, da es gut besucht ist

A regular at this restaurant pre-pandemic and never disappointed. For various reasons had not returned until now but no need to worry the standard of food is even better than before. Great food very reasonable prices very efficient polite staff unlike these ‘fraud’ restaurants on Brighton seafront like Salt Rooms!

Some of my friends who live in Brighton brought me and another school friend who was visiting here for a meal after work on a Wednesday. I had the red curry with some coconut rice and honestly, the food was delicious. It's also nice because it's BYOB so you save a bit of money during your meal out and you have many more options to pair what you like with your food. Also the service was wonderful and the staff were extremely friendly. Overall, I highly recommend Red Snapper.

Can’t recommend this place enough! Incredible food, the chef on the day was Pam, and we loved every dish. We ordered the beef salad, prawn Thai green curry and crispy red snapper with chilli tamarind sauce, which was amazing. Our waiter Philppe was so great and helpful. Looking forward to coming back and introducing this hidden gem to more people!

My favourite place to eat in Brighton. I live very closeby and I'm here at leat once a week. The staff are wonderful and always have time for you and make you feel so welcome. The food is exceptional and arrives very quickly not because anything is reheated I found but because all is prepped and ready to be cooked. I'm very fussy about where my food comes from but I absolutely trust this place.
