Real Barbecue and Bar in Crawley

Ordered a takeaway !! they said 30 to 40 minutes for delivery chased them up 1 hour and 15 minutes later told its on its way! 16 minutes later it arrived COLD. The driver was very sympathetic and said he would get another delivery sent within 30 minutes 8 days later we are still waiting

Had dinner at this restaurant tonight and as usual the meal was excellent, I really do think this is the Best BBQ restaurant in Crawley. We were greeted well by the owner who showed us to a nice seat. We ordered a selection of hot and cold starters which were delivered swiftly and tasted delicious. Our main courses were even better, the chips were hot and crisp, the salad was fragrant and fresh, my fish was cooked perfectly and my husbands chicken was well cooked and moist. The desert was rich and tasty. The food was top notch, the service was brilliant and we cannot wait to come back again in the near future.

Will never order or eat here again the rudeness and they way I was spoken too and made to feel belittled because I needed help with some of the dishes. He was short with me and I ended up cancelling my order. If his looking to close the business his doing a great job!

My wife and I visited this restaurant last week and had a superb meal.Every dish we had was well presented, well cooked competently priced and delicious. It great to see your order being barbecued in front of us, and the end result is awesome. The beers were icy cold and the perfect partner to the food we ordered. In my opinion this is the best BBQ restaurant in the whole of Crawley, I have never had a bad meal here and I am looking forward to my next visit.

This restaurant was a real gem. The staff couldn't have been more friendly, the food not been even tastier and the portions being even more generous. We had the meze for two and loved the food. Couldn't manage any dessert so left very full for a very reasonabley priced meal. Will come back again when we're back in the area. Ron

Asked nicely if I could use their toilet as my son was busting!! I was told we could and we previously had been in there before… Once I had finished in the toilet I left to noice my clothes were ruined by the amount of bleach in the toilets!!! No sign nothing! I told the staff and they became abusive and denying they even let me in there!! 4 men shouting at a lady on her own with a young child! My partner later on went down there and the manger became threatening! Disgusting staff!!

It's been a while since I last had a meal here, and I will not leave it so long before my next visit. Tonight's meal was superb, I had thd sea bream it was cooked to perfection, nice crispy skin and bright white tasty flesh. It was accompanied by a beautifully dressed salad and crispy chips. I was in heaven. The prices are very reasonable and the service is attentive. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Do give them a try, you will not be disappointed.

I ordered takeaway here for the 1st time & was “stupidly” unaware of what the various sauces were called. The man serving was not helpful & arrogantly questioned what language I was speaking as I didn’t know the correct sauce names (I am English btw!). I said my partner was French but I was clearly English and speaking it so didn’t understand why he asked that! As we waited for the food outside, he thought I was out of earshot and shouted “learn to speak English”. I went back to challenge him on this disgusting comment and he seemed surprised I had heard and then tried to blag he was making a joke! He was NOT! Just because I’m not upto speed on the official names of his precious sauces, it does not make it acceptable to be so rudely insulted or at least make sure they definitely can’t hear you! Safe to say we won’t be going back. Oh and the food was crap!

One of the best tasting food we ever had anywhere! I had kleftiko / stewed lamb dish, and my son had mixed grill. Both were very large portions. And tasted amazingly. Especially lamb. In both the mixed grill and kleftiko. Also were served with salad (fresh vegetables, nicely presented) and bread (that had an amazing smoky taste). Very relaxing ambiance. Prompt service. Welcoming staff. Highly recommended!

Hei listen people if you looking for a real meze and bbq this is the place to go first.Everything was just as we expected.Fresh ,delicious and decent size of the mix bbq 4 two .We finish our dinner with a Turkish coffee.I do not want to wash down the flavour from my mouth.Lovely.The waitresses give us a very nice service and the manager full of kindness. Went last night and were warmly greeted by the staff. Really good menu with something for everyone. The portions were very generous and piping hot. We couldn't manage a dessert! The prices were really good with my meal only costing £11! It was sad to see we were the only diners, but we will be back. If you haven't tried it go now and if you've been before, make another booking!

The manager was very welcoming and a very happy gent. He made us most welcome and advised me to have the kleftico, which was excellent. My wife also thoroughly enjoyed her chicken dish. Large helpings too!

Have eaten at the restaurant 5 times in the past 12 months and the whole experience has never disappointed. There is always a warm greeting as you arrive, the service is polite and friendly, but never hurried or inattentive, and of course the real reason for going is the food - which tastes delicious, is cooked well, and has generous portions. This evening we had the mezze for 3 (even though there were 4 of us) and we still couldn't eat it all.

Heard good things about this place but was extremely disappointed. Ordered the mixed grill which Is my benchmark for restaurants of this type and after waiting over an hour for service it finally arrived.Every single item on the plate was overcooked and dry. The chicken shish was charred and the kofte was overly salted. The side salad was very nice and the Kleftico my wife ordered was also OK; however my primary reason for going for a BBQ has to be the meat.Maybe it was because we were a large group on a Saturday evening but if you can’t serve large groups and can only handle take away trade then maybe they should focus on that area. Staff were friendly though not very attentive.

Love this place. It's only up the road so I go as often as I can afford it. The chicken kebabs and burgers are very nice and good value for money.

Life changing experience from a place down the road just can not believe this the frills the mezes outstanding looks like a normal place but food out of this world, why is it that normal places are so much better than the big name,!!!

We get a takeaway from here almost every weekend. The food is tasty and well cooked and portion sizes are good. Great value for money and a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We definitely recommend this place - you won’t be disappointed.

Moved new to the area Close by in forgewood, i saw this place as i went to tescos Next door and hâd a few takeouts amazing!!

We had the full SET MENU.It was excellent and tasty. It started with cold and hot mezes..Delicious and big portions ...followed by our choice of kebaps which are freshly cooked in front of us on the grill. and we finished off nicely with homecooked desserts and coffee...

Well first time i have ordered from here, pitta bread was cut into pieces, usual kebabs are a full pitta which i founrd strange.. kebab was cold and lack of meat and salad for a large kebab, very dissapointing,

Our team had a great time last week for an early dinner at Real barbecue. We ate from the set menu. The food was very fresh and very tasty. The staff were attentive and made sure we were happy with everything. The portions were very generous (they provided a take-away bag so nothing went!). Great value for money and highly recommended.

We found this when looking for somewhere to meet and eat near Gatwick. Not as easy to reach as we'd hoped from Three Bridges, but worth it. Great food and somewhere quiet to meet with lovely staff.

Fish and chips has always been my favourite meal and now I think I've finally found the best one :). Me and my mum go at times, plus seems to be the only Turkish place that does rum-baba (mum's favourite pudding). Also staff are always really friendly whenever times.

WOW, A totally amazing evening! I organised with the help of the Real Bbq to organise a surprise 50th birthday meal for my wife. We had 41 guests including 9 children and decided to go for the set Meze meal. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left we were all so well looked after. The food was amazing and everyone loved it. The restaurant organised a belly dancer to come in for entertainment and she was fantastic. I can truly say you won’t be disappointed by visiting the Real Barbecue & Bar. Looking forward to going back very soon

From the moment we walked in on a very quiet midweek night we were treated like royalty. We had eaten here twice previously in recent years when flying from Gatwick. Fabulous food, great staff and superb host. Great touches such as salad and a small dessert on the house when we said we were too full from the huge portions of very tasty food. One of my favorite when around. Could be use either as restaurant or take away. Very friendly place, decent choice of tasty food usually in generous portions. Could order the take away in advance over the phone to avoid queing in the shop.

Visited with the family on Friday evening. As soon as we went into the restaurant we were warmly welcomed. We chose to go for one of the set menus and what a great choice. Had a delivery waited 2 hours the food turned up cold and the meat was awful, phoned them up and they said we will send the driver back with a refund, they never showed, phone back next night again the driver will bring it( managers words) 2 days later called back again and they said a totally different thing and was only offering to send half the refund back... still... nothing, disgusting customer service

We lasted visited this restaurant in 2014 and it was amazing then. Returning tonight and the food was just as tasty as we remembered with equally great service. The portions are generous and you won't leave still feeling hungry. The hummus is a fantastic meze starter combined with chargrill warmed fresh bread. For mains we had the chicken shish and it was a huge portion with juicy tasty chicken. Really can't recommend this restaurant enough. It's made even better by the lovely friendly and welcoming staff! If you're local or staying at a Gatwick hotel before a flight it's well worth a visit.

Now don’t get my wrong... I have used this place many times and love the food. On the last 2 occasions I was told 45 mins for my food to arrive only to wait over 90 mins. This time I specifically asked for an accurate waiting time due to the previous experiences. 45-55 mins I was told... it’s now been 120 mins and it hasn’t arrived. I call to ask only to be told a further 25 mins. They have now lost my custom for ever and I will never ever recommend them ever. Such a shame...

Decided at short notice to eat in this restaurant for Dinner. We had a lovely selection of mixed tapas to start with followed by a superb dish of sea bream and salad and one of the nicest steaks I have had for a long time. My chips were nice and crisp and I must say every dish was excellent, it has been a while since I last was here but based on this meal, I will not leave it so long again before I revist this restaurant. In my opinion this is the best bbq restaurant in all of Crawley.

Used to be my favourite kebab place but now I will never be eating from there again! This is the 3rd time in a row I have been beyond disappointed! The chips were black and potatoes unwashed, I literally found myself chewing on dirt and soil. Disgusting!

I ordered Large Cod and Chips plus 2 Burgers. Only to find that the Fish and Chips I just know are from the day before heated up. Why? The Fish batter was so hard it was inedible. The Chips if you can call them that were so dried up that they are mostly brown and hard, so hard again they are inedible. I phone to complain and was informed they are just cooked. As well as the fish. But that is impossible as even a child could cook better, no way would I want a replacement of my order if that is fresh and just cooked, so stay away from this establishment unless you want what5 IO received

Everything was fresh, tasty and well prepared. The pita and Hommus was delicious, and the Mixed Grill was a large portion of perfectly grilled meats with amazing flavor on a bed of rice with a salad. Very warm and welcoming service, I will definitely return.

Have used this place several times for takeaways now and the service you receive here is brilliant. Always good quality food and the service is always really friendly. At some point I look forward to trying the restaurant.

We absolutely love this restaurant, everything about it. The chef is amazing and offers all traditional Turkish dishes unlike other Turkish restaurants we’ve visited, this one is the best by far! So fresh and tasty, all perfectly presented, highly recommend the meze and the baklava is so delicious. The staff are so friendly and well mannered always smiling. The restaurant has a nice relaxing atmosphere, always leave very full and very happy. Thank you :)

We were staying locally before a flight and decided to give this restaurant a try. It was early evening and only one table was occupied. We were made to feel welcome when we entered and given ample time to peruse the menu and given a complementary appetiser. We both had chicken and shared a large salad. The chicken was moist although we both thought the sauce was too thin. The salad was fresh and excellent.Drinks were not overpriced.

ordered 2 doner kebabs mixed grill a burger and a large chip wait was just over an hour food arrived and was stone cold .....got told I could have discount for next time ...mmmh let me think on that one just spent 40 pounds on freezing cold food ...I don't think I will be ordering again

Food generally good but was very poor this evening.

The food seemed fine but all 3 of us had upset stomachs after we ate! Do not eat here! We have eaten here before and not had a problem but this time something was not right!

Decided to visit this place after the pub as its close by, greeted by friendly staff. There was plenty of food to choose from and honestly the food was excellent. It was perfectly grilled and my friends enjoyed it too. Looking forward to visiting this place again, especially the people who work there as they always welcome you!

Visited here with a 9 and 7 year and enjoyed our meal immensely. The selection of food on offer was good and freshly prepared and cooked. We went for the Meze set meal for 2 which consisted of cold and hot dishes and plenty of it. Very good value for money and exceptional customer service. Thankyou.

We were sent stone cold food,and also sent the wrong thing and they were extremely rude when i called to let them know. The guy insinuated that we were lying "because they dont sell cold food" The man hung up on me and took over an hour to send out more despite us being happy to give them back the crap.

We've popped in here a few times for lunch and have always had great food and fantastic service. Takeaways are always very good with prompt delivery.

Hour and half late, food stone cold and the paper the food was wrapped in was soaking wet, I assume due to being sat sweating for the hour we waited. The delivery driver was on the phone when he dropped it off, no apologies or even acknowledgment. The food didn’t make up for anything either really disappointing! Won’t be ordering from here again.

Always a friendly greeting and food of a high quality. Beats all other local kebab offerings. Been going here for years and have no intention of changing. Highly recommended

I was really disappointed. The food wasn’t great. I threw the kebab away after maybe 2 bites. The chips looked like they had been in there all day. And the staff was really rude. I don’t think I’ll go back there.
