Visited tonight. The lamb bhuna was amazing! Everyone loved their meals. The staff were very warm, friendly and attentive. Lovely atmosphere. We're definitely going to be back there soon. Can highly recommend. Well done to the team at Simla for creating a wonderful experience 👏👏👏

Best Indian meal I ever had. Came here for 4 days whilst at crufts. In the 4 days ate here twice it was so good. Can't wait to cone back .. excellent

We got a take away tonight on our way to the airport. When we googled the restaurant it’s advertised as Indian, but far from it. It’s defo not Indian cuisine. The food we ordered, fish pakora, salmon tikka yogurt and chicken tikka masala. There was no salt in the food, chicken tikka masala was loaded with sugar, received plain yogurt in the name of cucumber yogurt. We never tend to leave bad reviews for food but we just couldn’t palate this food. £20 wasted. Had high hopes from this place but all the food had to unfortunately be put in the bin. Spend extra £20 to get starters from pushkar’s Birmingham after. They did drop the food off to the car hence given 4 stars. But for food it would be zilch. Disgusting food.

Authentic food, tasty Friendly excellent service

I had the Lamb Rhendang and can truly say it was excellent. The whole place was friendly and very appealing. Highly recommended.

Where has the cocktail menu gone? Food was lovely except for the veg pakora starter...little flat discs of veg and flour is not a pakora. Veg biriyani was delicious though.

Blown away by this superb restaurant. All four of us had delicious, beautifully presented meals. Will definitely be back. Nothing too much bother and well looked after by all staff, especially Rej and 'handsome' behind the bar!

While visiting Birmingham for Crufts we decided to visit Rasa for dinner as it was nearby and had good reviews. We were so pleased with the quality of the food and exceptional service at very reasonable cost. We had a delicious meal and the friendly waiters were very welcoming. Thank you. I wish we lived nearer!

The restaurant is now called Simla and the food was exceptional. The service was very good and friendly we were served by Jamil and his bald colleague who were both fantastic. The cod pakora is a must try, I also had the chefs taster meat menu which was fantastic. This is a must visit if your in the area.

Found this restaraunt on Trip Advisor whilst at the NEC for an exhibition. Absolutely delighted I did! Probably the best curry I've had. Mixed vegetable starter, lamb shank, monk fish and Peshwari naan. Delicioius and with a lightness to all of it. I live 100 miles away or else I'd be back every week!

Drinks were a little expensive. I paid over £10 for a coke . A soda water and a cobra ... don't be put off by that tho there was a very large choice of foods to have a go at we couldn't decide ... the food was never wrong on what we ordered and it came out pretty quick saying there was 15 of us and the place was rammed.. Food was the best I have tasted in a long time .I live 30 mins away so I'm sure my husband will be happy to treat me.. staff were polite and helpful . Table service for drinks so you don't have to keep going to the bar ... I would recommend it definitely to try .. out of 15 none of us had a bad thing to say .... so thank you simla you did a pretty good job x

Got to say it’s one of the worse meals we’ve had from any restaurant had the lamb curry flavourless sauce and tough dry lamb which has obviously been added to the sauce at the last minute. Wife had the sea bass curry and it smells like mackerel it’s off ransid. Really bad. Dahl is like water. Total disaster and we spent £31 for the 2 of us. First time we used this place and certainly the last.

Take away New Years Eve best for a long time

Wrecked Christmas Day at the Simla. The place was overbooked by a mile, we waited a staggering 95 minutes to be seated, it was chaos in there .My meal was a disgrace, cold dry and undercooked. No desserts left, dirty plates and glasses all over the place, blasting music that they claimed to have turned down but didn't and not one single apology for anything... We were offered a drink instead of a dessert which we declined in favour of a discount. We were offered £11 off the bill so that was under £3 discount each. We were too tired and fed up by this point so we accepted but it was poor compensation for a horrible Christmas day experience.

Very average food. Don’t get me wrong, it was nice. But it’s a confused kind of place. It’s not Indian and it’s not Bangladeshi or Pakistani and it’s not Indonesian or Malaysian but it attempts to do a bit of everything. And the Chinese style fried rice topped with scrambled egg with peas and sweetcorn had me bemused. I was looking forward to a decent curry. But it was bland, lacking in any kind of spice and definitely no identity. Not an Asian customer in sight. Says it all

We booked the Simla Friday 1 October On arrival the place was packed - and there was a band booked. We were prepared to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. The starters were fine, however, after a very long wait for the mains, they arrived cold. And when we informed the boss, he came over and said sorry, but nothing else! Not an offer to heat up the cold curries = nothing, That was unacceptable to say the least. We are willing to give Simla another chance, however we would avoid a night when the band is booked and the place is less busy. Then hopefully we will not get overlooked

Popped in for a take away after my daughter had sat in earlier and said how nice it was. Lovely chicken tikka, fried rice, keema naan and chips. Great food. Good price and lovely staff

Only gave the guys 1 days notice for a group of 15 and they where able to not only accommodate us but the food was amazing. To top it all off the service from Rej was fantastic would definatly recommend coming here

Visited Simla for a night out for the day before a visit to the NEC. Having visited previously as Rasla, I was so happy to see it's the same people as before. And the food is amazingly good, just like before, and is still great value - but now with added cocktails. Superb experience, superb food, served brilliantly by a wonderful team. Thank you!! Our go to whenever we are in Birmingham (we live in London).

Nice food, friendly staff, good atmosphere!

The main thing we didn't like was the background music was far to loud, when we were talking we were having to shout, waited a long time for out main, we had to ask where it was. We were going to stop another cocktail but the music was so uncomfortable. The chairs were a bad shape as you could not move your elbows to eat,the sides were to high so your elbows were trapes.. It has put us off going again.

Walked into Restaurant absolutely lovely place, clean, tidy and well presented... we were both greeted with excellent welcoming smile 😃 The cocktails were excellent probably the nicest Mojito I've tasted 😋 Food took a while to arrive but when it did it was excellent and absolutely delicious my Vindaloo was just about the correct heat level, was surprised no potatoes Was disappointed no Afters menu yet... Will definitely go back if an Afters menu is added

On entering Simla welcomed by friendly staff . Really impressed with the new decor from the wow factor of the huge hand painted mural along one wall. The bling of lights and leather seats really are inviting. Their new menu has such a variety of amazing food . The new cocktail bar is first class . Definitely a restaurant to recommend in marston green.

This is our new local Indian and we tried this 2 weeks ago. The restaurant looks great inside and the food was incredible. We have just had take away as the restaurant is closed due to Covid and the food was still top quality ! Fiyaaaaaaaaaa

Went to collect our food order and was shocked on arrival that the whole place was being refurbed and they were stillCooking and sending out food in such unclean conditions. Any way as this is our usual curry house I thought I’d still continue. I could see into the kitchen, no masks were being worn, staff in casual clothes, no gloves either. Then to my horror I saw the ‘ chef ‘ lick his fingers twice, get the brown bag to put my popadoms in then touch my food with the same fingers. I was disgusted and horrified. I told the waiter that I was unable to take the order due to what I had seen, I asked for a refund. He seemed shocked also and apologised. I will never ever eat from here again. People just be wary, we shouldn’t be eating food that has other people’s saliva on.

Service was friendly I recall ordering some Thai food and it was tasty.

Baffled by the good reviews! Vegetable dupiaza devoid of any vegetables save large pieces of very shiny onion and what looked suspiciously like potato wedges, side of Bombay Aloo was smaller version of same. Rates two star for entertainment value as one colleague found a Brussel sprout in her vegetarian dish and two others were presented with their meals garnished with a glace cherry on top. Perhaps they were making fun of us?

After a visit to the NEC we decided to go here as it was close by. Well what a mistake. The first thing I would say is that they don't know anything about the Indian food. Its good to convince the White people but people like us who have eaten Indian food all my life , I can say its awful. We had seekh kebabs, Lamb chops had Shami kebabs for starter , even I can cook better at home than this, The Seekh kebabs were reheated, One of the lamb chops was burnt and the Shami kebab was edible. My main course was some Tarka daal and Lamb Karahi dishes, The Tarka daal was not cooked properly and when we told them there was no comment from them. Not good when we live in a customer service culture. .There was not much meat in the Lamb Karahi. If I talk about the service, it was pathetic. Anyway, I think they should remove 'indian restaurant' from their hotel name and put Bangladeshi restaurant, sorry but it didn't taste anywhere close to indian food that I am used to in Bradford or Manchester.
