The best breakfast in Fife. And lunch and brunch, all the food and drink is freshly made and delicious. Everything that is served is locally sourced too. You have a chance to walk off the calories as you explore this fabulous village with all 3 bridges across the Forth to see.

Stopped here on a walk of the Fife Coastal Path and found it to be a great place for a bite of light lunch. Incredibly welcoming and friendly staff. There was no table available when we arrived and a table was kindly set up outside until a table inside became available. The food was super delish, especially the Turkish eggs, which were a revelation. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is due to the toilet facility, which, although clean enough, was a bit grotty and in much need of a refresh.

A welcoming cafe with lots of tasty food options. I enjoyed the Smoked Haddock with Bacon Hollandaise, fish cake served with bacon and a poached egg. A real treat. Homemade soup, scones and cakes. We are lucky to live only five miles away so will be back regularly. Rankin’s location in North Queensferry means you get great views and photo opportunities for Forth Rail Bridge, Forth Road Bridge and Queensferry Crossing. Only negative is it’s small so try booking if you can

Lovely little cafe but unfortunately I thought the food was just OK. Had much better breakfasts and for £12 i’d expect a little better. Scrambled eggs very runny. Panini my wife ordered was good but not the greatest value. Service was good but just think food let it down a little.

Quality drink and cake with quality service included! Oct 2023 I came here with four friends in the afternoon of Saturday 14th October, after walking along the coast. We just wanted drinks and cake. A lovely wee cafe in a great location with good service but for some reason it is not dog- friendly. This seems rather short sighted as most other cafes up and down the Fife coast and hundreds beyond are reaping the benefits of being dog friendly, with little or no difficulty whatsoever. Yesterday was a very nice day, the nearby coastal path had hundreds of folk going up and down and I would say roughly half had dogs with them, but Rankine's was pretty quiet when we popped in for a takeaway (both outside tables being occupied). By comparison, a fortnight ago in cool cloudy conditions, the very dog-friendly Coorie By The Coast in nearby Limekilns was heaving. Time to get woke guys!

Reached North Queensferry after crossing the 'Red Bridge' from South Queensferry. As we came down the hill from the station, the lady was opening up Rankin's at 10 a.m. Nice sunny morning so we chose to sit outside for a quick spot of refreshment, train watching at the same time. Used the toilet before leaving. Establishment was very clean. It should be noted that there are no public toilets in North Queensferry. The Ferrybridge Hotel where we had downloaded a 'light lunch' menu appeared to be shut down. Spent the next couple of hours taking leisurely back over Forth Road Bridge to our hotel we were staying in.

Stopped off on the way to Deep Sea World with our 17 month old granddaughter as we felt an independent cafe would be better for lunch than the on site version, and so glad we did. From the lovely welcome from the staff the minute we walked through the door to the quality of the food, friendliness of the clientele, comfort of the decor / furnishings and general ambiance we had a hugely enjoyable early lunch (and post-shark coffee) here. We sat in the sunshine enjoying our teas, coffees and the most wonderful hot chocolate (all at a very reasonable price). The staff were so helpful and friendly and made us feel welcome, and our ladies all agreed they had a nice time. Thank you.

After a brief visit to let our friends view the 3 bridges over the River Forth we thought we'd pop in for coffee. We asked for 4 coffees and were asked if we wanted takeaway cups as they were closing in a couple of minutes. When we said we were hoping to sit-in we were immediately shown to a table and our order was taken. Four very nice coffees soon arrived. We felt we were under no pressure to drink up and leave. Great service. Thank you very much indeed.

Having wandered round Culross, we were hungry, so popped in here. We had quite a wait, but it was well worth it! The two (handmade) soups were delicious – wish the bowl had been a bit bigger, though. The sandwiches were really tasty, on lovely thick brown bread.

Party off 3. All meals starters, main and sweet all good. Although there were two large parties in the service was still very good. No complaints. Will be back soon

This is the best coffee shop in St Andrews - but only in terms of the coffee and the food. I love the drinks and the bagels especially are *french kiss* but I would love to be able to come and sit, and enjoy my bagel at a table. The issue is that the already limited seating is taken up by students who have pretty much always finished their drinks. I really think it would be a good idea to have maybe half of the seats reserved for people who just want to come and sit for 10 minutes to have a drink because the shop itself is so nice and clearly very well finished. As a student myself I know there are plenty of study spaces in town so a study free area surely wouldn't meet much resistance? I for one would visit the cafe much more often, instead of just for takeaways. That said, the staff are amazing and the coffee is superb.
