This place is lovely. Staff were excellent and food was fantastic

I am normally don't going out much for Thai food because I am original from Thailand so I can cook by myself but for now I am not well so can't be bothered to cook & I lost my taste too so I happy to go to get my Thai food in Rama Thai Dundee me ,my husband & my stepson and his girlfriend daughter came visit us so we are really enjoyed food and atmosphere very much so I recommend people who not sure to find somewhere to eat please try Rama Thai

Went with friends for lunch. The first time this year, I had chicken & coconut soup, Thai green curry followed by the banana fritters, all washed down with beer, the ladies had a very fruity white wine We all loved our meal, fast service, Ian, the owner was very attentive, and the cost was very reasonable

Would recommend to anyone in the Dundee and surrounding area, great food, service and atmosphere.

Extremely disappointing. Our first visit to Rama. We regularly have Thai food and these were certainly the worst Thai meals we've ever had. Lacking in flavour. The restaurant is lovely. Comfortable and attractive. Good to see that there's a choice of having a craft ale instead of the usual lagers on offer but the food lets the place down.

Great food, great quick service. No complaints

The staff were really amenable, as we turned up without a booking and they managed to find us a table. One of our meals was a beef dish with rice noodles, which was so hot with chilli that it was unpleasant. The other dish was a vegetarian egg noodles dish,which was supposed to be delicately spiced,so I asked them to add chilli. I've never had tasteless Thai food before, but somehow, they managed it. I mentioned it to the staff, who apologised, but it was very disappointing.

What a lovely place! Welcoming staff and decor and delicious food. The most creamy tom yum sup I've tried so far!

Definitely worth visiting BUT advise pre-booking table. Food so tasty, forgot to take a picture 😀😀

Such a pleasant surprise to find a high quality, authentic Thai place in Dundee. Excellent service and a wide variety of dishes including some of the less commonly found house specials (that you should try). All at a reasonable price.

Did not enjoy our meal there. First of all we ordered a bottle of beer at £4. It wasn't opened or poured in front of us and when we tasted it it was completely flat (no gas). Went up to the counter and the manager told us we would have to pay for a second bottle if we didn't like it. My starter was soup, and the mushrooms were raw. Main course was cold. Good job it wasn't expensive but still would not come back.

Excellent food as always and not too pricey. It is our favourite Thai restaurant in Dundee.

My wife and I made our first visit to Rama today for lunch and will be back as soon as we can. Food was so delicious, served promptly, despite being very busy (Sat lunch), staff v pleasant, interesting decor. And all at a surprisingly low price. Most impressed!

Absolutely excellent food. Good prices and good size portions which taste absolutely amazing. If you want really good Thai food, then this is the place to go. Most definitely will be going back again. The staff are great too. Highly recommended the panang .

Had a full-course dinner at the restaurant. Though the seating arrangement was a bit congested, but the room was cozy. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious, especially the chicken and prawn dishes. For dessert, I had Banana Fritters, which was really good.

Fantastic food. Delicious, fragrant, the Tom Yum soup was gorgeous, as was the rest of the meal. If you are in Dundee you have to go there!

SO SO SO GOOD! Staff and food are perfect, really busy and a great professional setting. The tofu massaman is beautifully done.

The corn soup and spring rolls were refreshing and delicious. The noodles was good but the massaman curry and jasmine rice was spectacular. The service was kind and polite, a lovely restaurant in Dundee.

the best place! we arrived and were told the power had gone down and they weren’t sure if they were going to be able to serve food or not, we stayed and waited about 15 minutes before the power went back on and we were able to order. while we waited, the server brought down complimentary crackers and took our drinks order. the food was absolutely incredible! probably the best i’ve had in dundee since i moved here 2 years ago. it was so filling as well and really well priced! really recommend the prawn starter wrapped in puff pastry and the chicken satay😍 the service was amazing, servers so attentive and kind. the main man was so friendly and even took 25% off our bill and gave us free icecream at the end for the ‘trouble’ which really was nothing and 100% worth the extra little wait. definitely planning on returning and can’t recommend enough🤍

The food that we had was delicious and as close to Thai food as is possible in the UK. We felt that the atmosphere within the restaurant needs to be addressed. We felt it was a bit bright and some low light would add to the ambience especially for evening dining. It could also do with some music that could be heard. Apparently the music was on but could not be heard. It was really busy, and we suggest booking a table. The staff were really friendly and added to our enjoyment of the experience.

Poor customer service from the staff as soon as we walked in. Ignored by the waiter who appeared to be uninterested. Food was poor for a lunch menu. Unfortunately couldn't complain as my daughter was treating us..

Friendly, nice decor, food was nice I liked my Chicken Laarb.. it's hot and spicy (chilli )👍 at the top end of my limits ..hahaha

Went there on a sunday night for dinner. We wanted to book a table but our call didn't go through. We arrived at the place and it was busy. The food was ok, i wished it was spicier. I ordered the vegetarian tomyum soup and it tasted bland.

There were 6 of us, all in for a quick bite to eat before a meeting we were attending, we were well looked after, our drinks and food were served fairly quickly which suited us, and apart from one rice dish being wrong, the food was delicious and plentiful. Staff very friendly and even recommended we put a ticket on our cars even though it was Sunday evening, which we did. Beautiful decor inside and looking forward to going again when I can relax more and enjoy the experience.

It's a good restaurant, some food authentic, some not, and some good staff, but the older Thai gentleman really let's the place down. His demeanour came off as very rude. Just because some of the customers are Thai, doesn't mean you can be rude to them just because you are speaking Thai. I don't want to rate the place badly just because od one staff member, but it's unfortunate.

Lunch at Rama Thai, very clean restaurant, prompt efficient service, food is excellent full of flavour and good portions for a lunch, don’t know how they do it for the money. Lunch menu has good choice with either chicken, pork or beef. Pick rice or noodles which are excellent. Quite rightly popular restaurant even on a Monday, some Asian customers in the restaurant always a good sign in an Asian restaurant Good wine list too, but we like Thai beer with their food. You have to try the banana with ice cream. More extensive menu at night and it is equally as good, you will not be disappointed with the food. Have a bowl of porridge or a plate of spinach before you go, you will need all your strength to move the chairs, authentic Thai furniture and they are very heavy!

We were lucky to get a table in this busy restaurant. The decor was amazing. The staff friendly. The service was good. We had an excellent meal in a thoroughly convivial atmosphere.

Having enjoyed excellent Mexican and Italian food in Dundee over the years we thought that this time we would opt for Thai and we weren't disappointed. Well presented, medium sized restaurant, with heavy teak tables and chairs and Thai/Buddist ornamentation. Staff were welcoming and eager to help and please. Very extensive menu. Authentic Thai dishes were delivered piping hot and they both looked and tasted great. The noodles and Jasmine rice were at extra cost were also excellent. Happy to return

Easily my favourite restaurant in Dundee 😋 we had the chicken taster starter to share and I had the red pineapple curry for a main with chicken and coconut rice and it was just nommy 😁 would definitely recommend and go back to this restaurant 😋 👌

Busy Thai restaurant on the edge of town. Quite an extensive menu (so much so that it was difficult to settle on a choice) but the staff were really friendly and it felt comfortable despite being busy.

A regular haunt for us and the food never disappoints. Today we celebrated our wedding anniversary with a meal at Rama Thai and they pulled out all the stops and even surprised us with a complementary dessert complete with love heart candles . This place offers the best food along with outstanding customer service .

Visited Rama Thai this weekend, and will definitely be visiting again. After much discussion about what to order, we opted for the mixed chicken starter which was all absolutely delicious. We then chose the red thai curry (I believe it said hot on the menu - but were advised by the staff that this was the saucy one) and also a pad thai. The portions, quality and value for money was amazing. Not a single complaint about the food, or the service. We were so full when we left! Can’t wait to visit again and try some other dishes.

My Husband and I had visited this spot while we were in Dundee. We arrived at 8:45, thinking that they were opened until 10pm based on Google search. When we arrived, we found out that wasn't the case, and that they actually close at 9pm. Even with roughly 10 mins to spare at kitchen closing time, they sat us at a table, and took our order. I'm sure glad that they did, because the food was 100% amazing! We split an order of the pad tai, and a few of the appetizers.

Amazing food as ever. Only visit Dundee 3/4 times a year and each time I eat here. Food is amazing quality and very reasonably priced.

Returned for a few days in Dundee and was pleased to get a booking for four of us in this excellent restaurant. The food is always great, especially some of the fine seafood dishes, and the service is attentive and pleasant without being intrusive. And, many thanks for the wee birthday treat for those of us marking the passing off another year. Looking forward to a return visit, but may not wait so long next time.

We visited this restaurant on a recent trip to Dundee. Although it was busy, after a short wait we were shown to a table in the window. The staff were extremely pleasant & attentive, but allowed us plenty of time to look at the menu & decide on our meal. The food was delicious, flavourful & authentic. We will definitely return.

Decent tasty Thai themed food at a reasonable price, but not real Thai food. Despite that I will eat from here again.

Rama proudly offers Thai cuisine for locals and tourists here in Dundee. I went for the lunch deal (selecting from one to three courses)which is very affordable. For appetizer I go with fried chicken wings which are locally seasoning well and flavorful. Pad Thai is acceptable but for Thais I think the flavours can be increased. Banana fritters might not be my favorite but the icecream nicely comes to finish the meals. The staffs are very friendly with service minded. Once you visited Dundee you can check it out.

This is a lovely restaurant the food is delicious and the prices are good The reason for only 3 stars is the small female waitress she is very rude has a very aggressive manner not a nice at all!!!!

Fave Thai spot in dundee. Service is kind and thoughtful, especially if you are dining alone. Go to is the pad Thai. Sea bass with sweet and sour sauce and coconut rice too. Veggie soups with and without coconut milk, hits the spot. Ask for Extra veggies!!

Amazing food, tremendous service and convenient location

Received a warm welcome and a choice of tables. Staff were attentive and helpful. Food was served promptly and was delicious. On leaving, the Maitre'D was telling me a little of what Dundee is famous for: jute, journalism DC Thompson and gin. That explains the Dennis the Menace picture in my hotel room! Would certainly return.

Everything about this restaurant is beautifully cultivated and crafted . From the wooden decorations to the elephant water jugs to the heavy swirled cutlery, everything is a joy to look at. The environment is matched by the beautiful steaming plates of delicious food that come out of the kitchen. If you are looking for a really lovely experience, then I definitely recommend Rama. The staff were so lovely and accommodating.

One of my favourite Thai restaurants, located just off the bridge and along from the Holiday Inn Express. Really nice and clean inside and the staff are excellent. Have been a few times and the food is really nice with lots of choice and is reasonably priced. Will definitely be back.

The food and service could 't be faulted. As soon as you came in the door you were welcomed by some very happy plants :-) After we got our seat we got helped very quickly and before you knew it you were enjoying your starters!...

Ordered the Chu Chi with salmon and a side of jasmine rice (the mains don’t come with a side). The salmon was mouthwatering- the sauce was the perfect thickness and had a nice sweet twang that reminded me of my trip to Thailand many moons ago. We also ordered the pineapple red curry with king prawns with a side of coconut rice- again beautiful flavours but perhaps could have gone with more prawns/veg. Our waiter was charming and down to Earth. Also very busy on a Monday night which is always a reassuring sign! All in all an excellent meal (among the best we’ve had in Dundee). Excited to come back for lunch as they have an excellent deal on!

Authentic Thai food served by friendly and attentive staff. Not right in the city centre but well worth the few minutes walk it takes to get there.
