Rakkas in City of London, Westminster

Very poor service - some peoples food came out after nearly everyone else had finished eating! Small things that had been asked for came out after food/drinks were finished so was too late to have them. Food was cold (pancakes and full English breakfasts). Table never got cleared so we sat for nearly a hour with our plates with left food on on the table - staff disappeared for half hour, literally! No one was around to ask to clear table/ask for bill. Someone had to go find a member of staff who were out the back! So table never got cleared unti just before we left! Worst thing was they were aware of the very poor service but never offered any compensation/apology! We was the only table in the restaurant to! Shame as we’d travelled quite a way to visit, won’t be returning!

We enjoyed the food and shisha here. Unfortunately during busy periods there’s is a 2 hour rule even though we spent over £300. Other then that great place.

It is a nice place but unfortunately on weekends if you haven’t booked they will come to your table and bring you the bill… it was quite awkward since we were not asked if we wanted last drinks/ food? Me and my friend were about to get a couple of more drinks and the waiter said that we couldn’t because on weekends walking in you can only stay 2 hours. We spent 200£ and our Shisha was not even finished. After telling them that we were not going to leave until the shisha is finished, the owner came to us and said “I heard there is a problem with you guys leaving” Which we replied saying:” we being kicked out, we didn’t even finish our shisha and no one told us we could only stay 2hours!” Then he told us that we could have gotten more drinks and stay since no one told us about staying for 2hrs. We had a drink and then left because we did not feel comfortable staying. That was our last time going.(we are regular costumers) My advice is asking the person that seats you if there is any time slot to prevent having an evening like us x

We visited Rakkas for our company corporate event and we hired out a private section of their garden area. The whole event was great and we are looking forward top returning for our Christmas Party. A big thank you to all the staff.

DO NOT BOTHER TO BOOK!!!!! DO NOT LET TIKTOK FOOL YOU!!! If I could give 0 stars I would!!!! We booked this restaurant for a special birthday occasion and ended up having to rescheduling due to health reasons. My girlfriend called the first time explaining why we had to reschedule and was able to get to get a new date but no confirmation text or email. The day of the booking was coming up and we hadn’t heard anything! We was told over the phone that there was no note saying we had rebooked, we got told multiple of times we was going to get to get a call back to confirm from the manager and nothing, meaning they wanted to steal there £20 deposit. Secondly, we requested for special seating as we wanted to be comfortable for this occasion and you wouldn’t believe when we arrived at the restaurant the service was abysmal!!! We were seated by the front reception behind the female toilets. We asked once to be reseated as it was a birthday dinner and we got told “the only seating is in the lounge and we would have to do shisha” and pay extra, we refused and said no we don’t want the lounge we want the restaurant. She then proceeded to get a table and squeeze it in between 2 large tables. The table was extremely small and made us feel packed sardines especially with the restaurant itself being so tiny. We could hardly fit anything on our table. Upon coming we was also excited for the entertainment which they stated had a live fire show. Please do not let this fool you, the entertainment is once every hour and is done for 3/4 minutes when the song finishes playing. The hospitality was utterly disgusting no complimentary water or shots we didn’t any designated waitress you would just wave ur hand at anyone and they would look at you so confused as no communication between staff The food was tasteless and bland even the rice we got had to be changed as it was clumped up together, serving us day old rice!! The meat was just not up to restaurant standard, I could not taste any seasonings apart from the bare minimum salt n garlic, especially with us getting the platter it made it difficult to eat Thirdly, there was people dressed in all different types of clothing making us feel under dressed eg. Sliders, flipflops, hats, durag and tracksuit The security guard had the audacity to even look at me in a certain manner as if I had been wearing something completely stupid It was so shocking to the point where we stopped eating our food and left halfway as we could not continue any further, we were not made to feel welcome at all! As we was leaving no one member of staff asked if it was our food or service was okay despite them knowing it was a birthday occasion. This truly ruined the evening and I would not recommend Rakkas to anyone

We came to rakkas for my cousins birthday. We were looked after by Collin and mert. They were both amazing and recommended food on the menu to us. Throughout our dinner they were both attentive and observant, this is the best service we have EVER received. A huge Thankyou to Hussein aswell. Amazing food, amazing cocktails and amazing service. Pessimo! Eravamo in 4 e abbiamo preso degli antipasti e 4 cocktail per iniziare e fin qui tutto bene. Per cena mia sorella ha preso un hamburger con Pulled BEEF, che sapeva di tutto tranne che di beef, il sapore dell'agnello era molto persistente (carne che a noi non piace) e quindi l'abbiamo dovuto rimandare indietro. Io e gli altri 3 abbiamo preso degli spiedini di filetto in crema, accompagnati con del riso, insalata e in aggiunta per me mashed potatoes. Spiedini e crema salati tanto da far venire la nausea, riso immangiabile e mashed potatoes senza alcun gusto. Inutile dire che é stato rimandato tutto indietro. A quel punto la fame ci era passata e non avevamo mangiato niente più. Il ristorante per "scusarsi" del fatto che ci hanno lasciato senza cena ci hanno fatto pagare la modica cifra di 118 sterline per gli antipasti e i cocktail.

Bad customer service, we ended up leaving and instead went to Selale, another Turkish restaurant down the road which was so much better. Do not go to Rakkas, it's overrated.

I booked a table for three and turned up for my booking. Apparently I didn’t have a booking? I showed her a screenshot, she said that it was pending even though it had a reservation number. How am I supposed to know that they call within 20 minutes and if you don’t answer then they cancel your booking. They never even called. The girl at the reception tried to give me a tiny table in the front entrance even though the restaurant was half empty. Yet she was allowing underage kids into the shisha lounge. This place is so overrated, only reason I booked was to see for myself if it’s as bad as some people say. So we left and went up to road to an amazing Turkish restaurant

Absolutely terrible. Took ages to get a booking and when we did they said we couldn’t be seated for another half hour because no tables were free. They tried to sit us by the entrance where people wait to be seated just to have us sit somewhere. When we refused we then waited 2 hours for a seat at the restaurant. Absolutely appalling. I emailed to complain the following day and no response was ever received. So unprofessional. It’s a shame because the food was actually decent but will never be returning due to the unprofessionalism and terrible service. The receptionist and people who answer the phones are rude and unprofessional also

I went to this restaurant for lunch with my sisters. The service was impeccable, the food was great and the ambiance was outstanding. We didn't feel rushed but to be fair it was lunch time and probably not as busy as the evenings. I must say that the service felt personal. I have seen some reviews saying that it was awful. Fortunately I can only base this on our own experience. I loved it. I fell in love with the quirky coffee cups. I would love one of those for myself.

Went as a group of 12 to celebrate a birthday. What a waste of time and money. The way they advertise the entertainment is very deceiving, the saxophone plays over the speakers - prob can do better myself, fire eating dancer was appalling and lasted 2-3 mins tops, no magician in site - despite questioning when it they will make an appearance and being assured it will come. On top of that my husband had my daiquiri poured over his brand new coat and all over his shirt. There are much nicer places out there - this place is very over rated and the service is awful avoid if you can!

Went to this restaurant with my daughter, she chose it as it was her birthday. All I can say is that we won’t be returning any time soon! We had to wait a bit to get seated and when we were the table they sat us at was in a rubbish position located right outside the toilets!! I asked twice if we could be seated elsewhere but was told no, no other seating was free. It was very annoying having large groups of people talking loudly behind me and also having my chair bumped when someone passed. The service is diabolical. Strangely, my daughter’s starter of calamari arrived within 5 mins (before our drinks) but we waited at least 30 mins for our mains. When they did finally arrive my mixed grill was on a rectangular plate which was far too small to hold everything. Some of the rice fell off when the waiter placed it on the table and I had to shout at the waiter a few times to get chilli and garlic sauce. The waiters seemed very confused and didn’t seem to know which drinks orders belonged to which table. The “entertainment” which we saw for about 10 seconds since we were in the worst position consisted of a saxophone player who was badly off tune and a fire eating lady. I’m not surprised they didn’t stick around for long as it was very chilly at the front entrance where we sat, we ended up eating with our coats on. The atmosphere seemed more buzzing in the shisha lounge but we had not gone there for that. Before the bill came I asked for the service charge to be removed as I definitely felt the service let this restaurant down very badly. Only giving 2 stars as my daughter enjoyed her food. Apart from that it was a crap experience, literally.

This place does not value their restaurant customers only the shisha lounge customers. This was my birthday, reserved with restaurant and they changed my booking 3x over the phone the week leading up to the day. When we arrived we had no table for us. In total we waited as a group of 12ppl incl 2 pregnant, almost 2hrs. We were seated around 22.40pm. My booking was 9pm! The hostesses kept lying to us, the "assistant manager" offered nothing other than a blank look. As we were a large group we knew no other restaurant would seat us at late notice. Majority of my group thought best to stay and wait. When we sat down, a waitress then told us the bar was closing. No entertainment as promised, only 1 drink each we could order. Only 5 ppl ordered food as it was so late. 6 of my guests got up and left in anger and dismay. At the end of the night they had the audacity to add service charge. I demanded my deposit back. Only when we mentioned the owners name who was abroad were we then offered our 1 drink to come off the bill which i accepted but my night was ruined, we missed the event which i had booked for after my dinner. Awful night. We observed a lot of favouritism for particular customers at this venue and all my 12 guests will be writing a review. Disgusting treatment and won't be returning!

My friend and I where stuck for somewhere to go to catch up, luckily we found Rakkas. The service Ismael gave us was outstanding. He recommended the black mamba shish and it ticked all the boxes of what we wanted. Nice casual friendly atmosphere and I would highly recommend to anyone in the area to try (even if shisha isn't your thing)

I go to Rakkas quite often but my last experience had been amazing. There is this one member of staff, his name if Ismael (I apologise if the spelling is not correct), he was amazing. His customer service skills and behaviour are top and it is nice to find someone who makes you feel so welcomed. As I work in retail as well, I know how stressful it gets sometimes but Ismael was very nice and kind to me and my friends. Hands down one of the best experiences I ever had!

Me and my friend come often and we love it here, Ismael always makes our visits here amazing, he’s really helpful and is always there there just before you know you need him, dirty table, empty glasses, plates. He’s already sorting it. The staff are extremely attentive and friendly. Wish there were more tv screens as it can be hard to see as times but doesn’t matter when Ismael is working.

I really enjoyed my time at Rakkas. The atmosphere was so calm and relaxed, and because the weather was nice the outdoor seating area became the ideal spot! We ordered some light food, including a sweet chilli chicken wrap which I can’t say was the best but I really enjoyed the passion fruit mocktail, it definitely was delicious. Finally, the staff were extremely attentive and friendly, especially Ismael. I would definitely return.

Good shisha and curly chips are really nice. As soon as you are seated you are given a notice saying you need to leave in 2 hours. This is a pretty short time if you’re eating, doing shisha and getting dessert. It also made us feel uncomfortable like a time ticking bomb was about to go off... apart from that the waiters are really nice and you can tell regular customers are there as they know all the waiters and vice versa

Been visiting Rakkas for 6 years and can only say it’s gotten better over time. With current management in place service quality, efficiency and food has improved drastically. No other place I’d think about for going solo or bringing family/friends.
