Railway Inn Restaurant in East Riding of Yorkshire

First we had to wait for ages to order, the staff just ignored me an picked out customers who had just turned up because they knew them, we eventually ordered but had to wait an hour for our food. I had the steak which was probably the worst steak I’ve ever had I said well done but it was burned and hard, we then had to wait another 45 minutes for dessert twice I asked how long as we had to leave to be told one minute another 30 minutes later I should not have waited it so was not worth it

Came here for a visit after a business meeting ...staff very unfriendly and snotty...the food was not up to scratch and was very poor...I would not recommend or come here again

How you underpaid in four in a bed says more about you guys than it does about your competitors. Glad you didn't win

As a group of 7 ladies, we all had diffierent starters/meals, plenty of choice on offer and each and every one of us were very happy with our meal. the restaurant was a nice relaxed atmosphere, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

This is the second time we have used the pub's restaurant for a family 'do' and again it was a great evening. The room is very smart and comfortable and the staff's service is first class, homely and welcoming. The menu is varied and they will try and meet any special needs. The food is excellent with a menu that has a good mix of classic favourites and the more exotic. There were 19 of us and our order came out almost simultaneously.

Gorgeous food, highly recommend, customer service is fabulous from the waitress to the bar staff everyone couldn’t do enough for us!

We saw this place on 4 in a Bed last year and as we were visiting the area on the hunt for my Lawson, Fisher, Brown and Mainprize ancestors that were all born and bred in the area, we thought it would make the ideal base for us.

We dropped in at the Railway Inn for Sunday lunch. The place was so busy but we were made very welcome. Wow what a dinner. 4 roast potatoes each, lovely mashed potatoe a huge yorkshire pudding. Plenty of vegetables and we ordered cauliflower cheese as well. I had the veggie option and my husband had the beef. For dessert we had the irish cream cheesecake. It was fabulous and came with a shot of irish cream liquer on the side.

Just go!!. If you want excellent service, you get it. If you want really tasty meals, you got it. If you want great location, you got it-nice walk starts about 50 yards from the inn. Recommend the steak pie-wife has stroganoff-both great. I could not ignore the apple & rhubarb crumble-just a delight. Just go.

Some friends have just moved to the area and hubby and I went over for the weekend to help in their wilderness (aka garden).

First time I’ve ever been to the railway, one of the best restaurants I have ever been. Food was cooked to perfection. Had the garlic mushrooms to start then chicken stroganoff. Both was so tasty and very generous portions. Couldn’t breathe after we finished eating. Staff was also really pleasant. Will definitely be back. Thankyou!!!

We have visited the venue before but it must a few years since, we have found it just as good as it was then, it has been repainted and looks so much brighter and lighter than last time that we visited. The food and atmosphere is good and friendly and the food is excellent and the meat pi is just as good as it has always been. Will call again soon.

We have lived in the area for over a year and this is the first time we have been to Railway Inn. The food is beautiful, one of our party was gluten free and there was so much choice it was lovely to see. Our food was great quality and service was excellent. The bar man was great very welcoming.

This is our 3rd visit here and what a gem of a place this is, food is always gorgeous and hot. Staff are very polite and smiling, nothing is too much trouble for them. Tables are readily available so no need to book in advance, would highly recommend this place.

We went after seeing them on 4 in a bed and also seeing good reviews. The staff were nice and friendly and the service was spot on. The place is decent inside and there is a nice local pub feel about the place (It was very busy). The menu is quite varied and they have specials with pretty normal costs. The food was not bad but everything was a bit average to us. The meat pie portion was very small, all veg except cauliflower cheese was good and the chips were ok. The meat and also meat pie just tasted a bit dry and a bit overcooked but nothing was bad. I think with a few changes it could have been excellent and we may have been a bit unlucky. 6.5/10

My husband myself and our granddaughter viseted on Wednesday night,the food was excellent,as was the lady on the bar,who also was serving,what a happy lady we had a great evening and will return soon.thank you

On Sunday the 17th of February, I and my wife along with twenty five of our family went to The Railway Inn to celebrate our Golden Wedding.

We dine here regularly , as a couple of with friends and family,always enjoy our food ,staff are great and setting is cosy and inviting .This place becomes a firm favourite with Every one we take .

Outstanding food great service and value for money, great for families or couples, will be calling in again can highly recommend.

The placed was packed but managed to get a table. The food was excellent, one of the best garlic mushrooms I have enjoyed, and the roast beef delicious but also all the staff were very helpful and friendly. It has been a long time since I was here and so enjoyed

Eaten at Railway Inn this afternoon, I cannot praise the staff highly enough. We were a family group of 32, all of our meals were served quickly and all were delicious. Not one single problem. Thank you so much for making our family get together as special as we had hoped it would be. A lovely afternoon was had by all.

Some friends popped down for the afternoon/evening today and we decided to eat out at The Railway Inn. The food was absolutely delicious; well cooked, served in a timely manner by pleasant waiting staff who were very attentive to our requests (including extra custard on a desert). We understand that the chef this evening was Andy Bartley - he did an excellent job. The restaurant was busy, warm and there was a comfortable atmosphere. We will definitely be going back to The Railway!

Well what can I say about The Railway Inn.

Been coming here for a few years now and every time it is just excellent. The staff are friendly and polite and the service swift. The food is always piping hot and absolutely delicious. Well worth the 200 mile round trip.

I’ve eaten here many times with family and friends. The food is excellent and the staff very friendly and efficient and now it’s dog friendly which makes it even better. Had a long dog walk in the snow yesterday and finished with a lovely meal, the staff were very welcoming and kind to us and our dogs. The dogs even got a biscuit bone ☺️

Visited The Railway Saturday 3rd Feb as we were passing through the area.

We had been told about this place by friends and as most of the family were over for the mother in laws funeral we decided to go here.

I love it here. I’ve had the pleasure of eating here a few times now with family and I’m never disappointed.

Chose this hotel for the proximity to my business appointment.

We went for lunch with aged relatives and they were very considerate to their needs. The food was excellent and arrived quickly - large portions of tasty food. Bar top has been renovated and covered with a novel layer of coins under resin - very unusual and eye catching. Premises is air conditioned.

Brilliant place to go for a meal.Food was very good,and the staff very polite and helpful.Would definitely recommend.

Visited the pub on numerous occasions and have thoroughly enjoyed each visit. Upon each visit I was greeted with a warm welcome and couldn't fault any of the service or food. My most reacent visit was to attend a wake were there was an array of hot and cold food catering to all dietary requirements. The food was not only presented beautifully but was continuously topped up until all guest were full to the brim. Therefore, I look forward to returning and would highly recommend this pub.

We called in the railway when passing by one day and we enjoyed a wonderful and fruity chicken curry served with both rice and homemade chips. A warm and friendly place with excellent and friendly staff. We will definitely be returning again in February.

A real gem in the East Yorkshire countryside, we dine fairly regularly in The Railway Inn. The staff are always super friendly and to be honest, whatever you choose to order will be superb. We have never tasted a better steak pie, ever!

We have been using the Railway Inn for a number of years and we are always surprised by the warm welcome, the quality of the food and great service. Our last visit was exceptional, left too full to move as the main menu is amazing, but the desert menu can't be missed, My best advice is to go hungry.

As a party of 5 we made a lunchtime reservation, The place was full , but despite this we were seated quickly and given time to decided what we wanted to eat. Once the order was placed the food arrived after a reasonable length of time . All were hot and delicious. 3 of us had the Christmas Dinner and two the fried fish. To round off the meal we opted for the apple pie and custard , which was excellent. Our thanks to all the staff for a very pleasant lunchtime.

This has to be the most enjoyable pub to eat at The staff were very obliging in ordering and serving the food. The food itself was cooked to perfection all fresh and well presented and value for money. This is now on must return list.

I haven't been to The Railway for years so I was interested to join friends for lunch.

Brought my parents for my mum's birthday. Lovely Sunday dinner with friendly efficient staff and as much gravy as you like! All home cooked and huge Yorkshire pudding. Never had a bad meal, highly recommend.

We were here (yet again), this time in a large group for a celebration dinner party.

We stayed here last week whilst visiting family. The room was very clean and comfortable and decorated to a high standard. We had a meal in the pub and it was delicious; proper home cooked food. My husband loved his pie & chips, he said the gravy was the nicest he'd ever had! I found that there were really good choices for vegetarians too. The staff were all really friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for a lovely stay, we'll be back!

If you want a peaceful clean stay, do not stay here. Found my stay to be very noisy & a very dusty room. Also found the food very greasy.

Myself & Partner and my Mum &Dad; have just called for Sunday lunch. Absolutely fantastic, Sue is a fantastic host and the food is delicious 😋

Staff friendly and welcoming. Had a meal with the family, food was okay ...chips were cold as well as the veg on my sisters plate. Food was done so quick that I guess it was reheated. Hope it improves as it is a nice pub.

Stopped here over the weekend, very impressed with the room and facilities, including Bath Robes etc. The Breakfast was excellent and a good choice of local produce. Very friendly Staff and service. Would definitely come here again if in the area. The Room was warm and welcoming, and for what we paid, was excellent value, would recommend this place to anyone.

Travelled 50 miles for Sunday dinner after seeing all the great tripadvisor reviews! So glad we made the trip as it was delicious, would recommend to everyone!

I ate here with my Mother-in-Law on a wet Saturday lunchtime. The welcome was warm and friendly and we sat next to a lovely hot wood burning stove in the restaurant area. I had the bacon and black pudding salad and she had the chicken & mushroom pie; there was so much pie that she took the remainder home and had it for her dinner! The staff were happy for her to take it and put it in a plastic tub. The food was delicious, piping hot and large portions.

You’ll have a difficult choice to make. Steak pie, homemade on the premises, traditional roast, with all the trimmings & delicious gravy, the famous fish & chips or one of the delicious specials. I would recommend that you try & leave room for one of the delicious desserts, my personal favourites, cheesecake or fruit crumble.

If you havn't visited the Railway then you are missing out. When we arrived the place was fairly busy, we hadn't booked but took a chance. The super freindly staff got us a table & without much of a wait our order was taken, it...

A party of 4 of us visited here, for the 3 course Christmas dinner about 10 days before Christmas. We were shown to a table in the restaurant, decorated with crackers and a lovely candelabra. Service was attentive and the staff were really friendly. All of us had the garlic mushroom starter, which was lovely. The only thing spoiling it, we thought, was that they were served on bread, which made it very soggy. Perhaps they should be on the side instead? Three of us had turkey and I had the Quorn cottage pie. Vegetables were plentiful and cooked well. Served separately in little dishes, which was a nice touch. My cottage pie was huge and despite it being beautiful and me trying my best, I couldn't finish it all. For dessert, three of us had the Christmas pudding and one had the cheese board. No complaints there either, all faultless. We asked for some water and we were brought a big jug fulled with ice and slices of lemon straightaway. My dining partners have eaten here before, though not at Christmas but this was my first time. All of us were impressed with the quality and quantity of the food and the staff were pleasant and efficient. The fact that the place was packed out, was proof that this is indeed a very popular venue and we would not hesitate to return and I'm sure we'll be back next Christmas too.

Freshly back of holiday my boyfriend and I heading straight to The Railway for our favourite pub food which we had been craving whilst away.We was feeling extra greedy and had the Brie starter before our usual Steak Pie and Gammon & Egg. Left feeling very happy stuffed and content!Food is always piping hot, very tasty and served quickly. I recommend the pub to everyone who wants proper homemade good food.

Attending a wedding a nearby venue and must say is was a disgrace, floor bed sheets everything was disgusting, so as we were unable to get a taxi to the wedding the nice young lad behind the bar gave us a lift to which we were extremely grateful for a 3 min car journey.Then to top it off the lady rings me in the morning to say I insulted the lad by giving him £5 for his trouble.The cheek and audacity to ring and say that after we'd clean the bedroom floor ourself is beyond belief. Id rather stay in hull town centre and travel the 30mins taxi drive then stay there again... Maybe you should take more care in the state of your rooms than ringing me.Oh and the chef in the mornin says it's only fried egg as he's got a lot on lol... Breakfast was ok thou Do not stay there ppl!!!

Great pub food, massive portions and friendly service - couldn't find a better pub along the A165...

Over the last few years we have had several lunches here as a family and have never been disappointed in fact it's my favourite go to localish restaurant for food would definately recommend was last here fathers day

We ate as a group of 14 people for the first time last night. The food, service andand friendly staff could not be faulted. The meal consisted of starters, main courseand sweets plus drinks and every plate was sent back empty, which speaks foritself. We have visited other venues in this area and this has to rate as first classin our estimation.

very nice staff you will have to go a long way to beat the meat pie fills you up we always go on birthdays will keep gping as long as they keep the pie on the menu

I have visited the railway inn over the years with my partner and it never fails to deliver,my partner and I normally go for the homemade steak pie and chips which is so tasty but we went for a change, my partner had a mixed meat Sunday roast which has turkey,beef and pork good sign portion wile I had a beef dinner the homemade Yorkshire pudding are lovely and the staff behind the bar was very polite and friendly looking forward to going back for a Sunday lunch in a few weeks time.

Myself and my old school friends often meet here for dinner to catch up. We all love the pies, you can tell they are all homemade. Last week I had the pie of the day which was rabbit, a risky choice at first as never tried it but I loved every bit. Shame I had a starter as I didn't have enough room for the cheesecake, but the helpful waiteress saved the day by letting me buy a portion to takeaway, thank you.Best pub for proper grub in the area we say.

Restaurant side looked comfortable but not given the choice we were put in the other side, table was sticky and it was like having a poor quality bar meal in rough surroundings, will not go back.

Our first visit was great. Food was delicious and service fabulous. The waiting staff are so friendly and pleasant. Good sized portions which didnt leave room for dessert unfortunately! 2nd vist just as enjoyable. Had an omelet this time and only just managed an ice cream sundae. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

We visited the Railway Inn after it was recommended to us by friends and we were not disappointed. The polite friendly staff were impeccably helpful and the service was fast and efficient. Me and my better half both had the Turkey Roast and it was up there with some of the best pub roasts we've had in the area, and finished off sharing a good old fashioned Treacle Sponge and custard. If I was to be really picky I would say the smell as you initially enter the pub is terrible as that is where the toilets are located, but as you enter the pub proper you immediately forget that as you're hit by the amazing smell of Sunday lunches being prepared. Great food, better staff, highly recommend.

I ate here a few months ago with my parents, the service at the bar (where you place your food order) was surly at best, no acknowledgement or eye contact. My parents had chicken curry rice, chips and naan, it was a big bowl of tasteless slop, with hardly any chicken, if I recall it was around £10, and had around £1.50-£2 worths of value. I had gammon (over salty), tasteless chips and 2 rubber, joke shop like fried eggs...I called over the server and asked if I could have 2 eggs fried properly, which I did get, but had that happened to my parents they would be to polite/timid to raise an issue. I can't imagine that anybody who works in a kitchen with an ounce of skill or professionalism would have served these eggs in the first place, my suspicion is that the eggs are pre-fried and warmed up when needed.......absolutely disgusting, I won't be wasting my time and money eating here again.

The meal was as usual excellent as was the service - we have been many times and have never had a complaint about anything - first class service in every way

We have a caravan a few miles away from this excellent pub and visit it to eat on a number of occasions the year. The food is always excellent and very good value alongside a good selection of beers and wines it never ceases to deliver. Alongside a few specials the menu is varied and there is something for everybody. We have found over the years that nothing seems to much trouble for the staff and if you ask for fish without batter ,potatoes instead of chips or extra gravy etc etc they will always try and accommodate your request. This weekend we had Sunday a roast,grilled trout,fish and chips( without batter) normal fish and chips and meat pie all served with the usual trimmings and all well received by us all.Sue and her staff do a great job and will be hopefully coming here for many years.

Salmon and prawns in sweet chilli sauce,I had it with salad. It was fantastic and all gluten free. As always great service and friendly atmosphere.

Was wondering where to take family that were visiting from canada for an evening meal, and was told to try out this place " The Railway Inn " .My partner and i went for an evening meal on Wednesday 23rd March 2016.We arrived to a warm welcome from the barmaid , who served our drinks and showed us to our table. They have a varied menu which looked great, and affordable.I ordered the Steak pie and my partner ordered the Salmon and Prawn in sticky sweet chilli sauce.We had only waited around 15mins before our mains came, and we tucked into it.I can honestly say that the pie i had was better than the ones i had at previous places " Very nice pastry, with tender melt in your mouth meat pieces "After struggling to finish our meals we decided to indulge in the "white chocolate/ cherry cheesecake " which was Gorgeous........So our minds made up about the food here we booked a table for Saturday 26th March 2016 for a family meal.I had ordered the gammon this time an my partner ordered the Salmon and Prawn with sticky chilli sauce ( this time with salad ).the rest of the family ordered their meals.my meal was great again , and there was no complaints from the rest of the Clan.I would like to thank the staff for their friendliness and efficient service. We had a great evening and i would recommend this place to others.P.S It does get busy on Saturday evenings and Sunday lunch, so i would book first..

As we were away for our birthday the full family visited on the Saturday. The place was packed (good sign). The food service was excellent, visited before and reasons why not to visit again.

Visited on Sunday 20.3.16 with my dad and had a great time, the food was lovely. Dad had fish and chips and I had mushroom stroganoff. So I suggested that me and my partner should go as we have family visiting from Canada and thought it may be nice to take them. So we visited tonight, 23.3.16. My partner had the steak pie, which he said was one of the best he'd ever tried. I had the salmon and king prawn in sticky chilli sauce. It was absolutely delicious....totally full, but we still tried the cheesecake. Gorgeous!. We will now definitely be booking a table for when family visit this Saturday 26.3.16. Friendly and welcoming staff and atmosphere. The menu caters for all tastes and dietary needs and not extortionate prices. Highly reccommended

We used to go here years ago before kids now got our kids to an age where we feel more comfortable. All I can say is it was as amazing as it has always been proper home cooked food Sunday lunch at its best always was and happy to say still is! We arrived at 4 pm on Mother's Day and they still fitted us in went for the mixed meat with all the trimmings excellent ! The staff are so nice can't fault the place if you want a proper Sunday roast then this is the best place ice found in 10 years !

Called there on what turned out to be a really good recommendation from a local resident. Excellent range of beers on tap and a varied menu. The service was super friendly and quick. Our meals were piping hot and absolutely delicious. Will certainly visit again

Have visited this pub on a few occasions and have always found the food to be really tasty - good value. Sunday lunches are a real treat - not too expensive either. Service is good and staff friendly.

Myself and two friends visited last night, the blonde lady with the long platt is just very abrupt and rude and not very welcoming considering she is front of house. I'm not sure she even knows she is doing anything wrong it but her tone and manor is all wrong. We was at the bar discussing what we was going to order there was no one else waiting and she just snapped what drinks can I get you while you decide what your having. As I was driving I ordered a orange cordial as I don't drink fizzy drinks and she had to point out "your just having water with yours" like it was a drink not worth ordering. My friend had a question regarding the specials board she just seemed not very interested what he had to say, then walked off over to the specials board and added on a price to the starter. She could have done this once she had finished serving us leaving us stood there. Then when our meal arrived we hadn't even picked up our forks and she came across and said "is everything ok" she could see we hadn't started and just said "you have just got your meals" laughed and just walked off. This is not the first time I have had a poor customer service issue with this lady as the last time she argued what time I ordered my food when the time was clearly printed on the receipt and I had been waiting nearly an hour. Regardless off all the above I'm not put off visiting the Railway, it's saving grace is the lovely homemade food we we're all very satisfied. The curry with half and half was lovely and my friend said it was the best steak pie he has had. I would like to thank the kitchen staff they must work very hard to produce such nice food. I think it's just a shame it's just one individual that lets a whole team down. On a final note Railway is a lovely pub in a lovely setting and the food is very satisfying and we will be back for many more years to come...

Lovely spacious restaurant situated between Hull & Hornsea on the old railway line. Ideal for ramblers as a stopping point for real ale or home cooked food. Three or four types of meat pies including rabbit made & cooked on the premises.A local butcher supplies the steaks & joints which are A1. I had a 10oz sirloin steak tender & tasty. They are always helpful with my food as I am glutton free & they always have a sweet course available.They don't have a separate glutton free menus, but don't let this put you off.

Absolutely love this pub! Me and my boyfriend had our 2nd date here and now we take our baby boy with us. They are children friendly and always greet you with a smile. The meals are reasonable price because you get a lot on your plates. Wouldn't want to change anything about this place

first time back at the railway since i had a couple of poor steaks a while back and i have to say the Sunday lunch was really good. went with the family and all 4 of us really enjoyed it not a scrap left on any of our plates.I had the mixed meats with all the trimmings and all three meats were excellent.Hopefully its improved and I can start going back again and have other stuff of the menu as good as this.

We are a little family group of o.a.p from Driffield . We go out once a week to have lunch at different places . We then talk about what we liked about the place that we have just visited. This year we are keeping a written record note book , just for our own use because sometimes we forget where we have been. Today we had lunch at this pub, four people chose off the specials board and one had a curry dish. We all gave a thumbs up for the food , the quick service and and the pleasant atmosphere. We will be marking it down in our book to go back soon Going back in the car we gave it 10/10

A group of 5 of us went for Sunday lunch. Quality of food is excellent with much of it sourced locally. A good variety on the menu, with several specials, although some of our choices ran out and we had to choose something else (overheard them still being mentioned to new tables as we left though!). Large portions - so great if you are hungry. We managed to fit some puddings in as well - the gooey chocolate pudding is recommended!

Late sunday lunch with family. The food was as good as our previous visit. Plenty of it and especially like how they provide plenty of fresh veg and top up the gravy boats. There is plenty of effort goes into these meals. Desserts lovely too.

We visited the railway inn tonight. All in all was EXCELLENT! I had the home made steak pie with home made chips etc which was absolutely gorgeous!!! Can't stop talking about it haha & my partner had the mixed grill with all the trimmings which was enormous and really tasty and so filling! Both meals was very satisfying and would definitely recommend to anyone! The atmosphere was so relaxing and cosy and the staff was very helpful. You will definitely see us again SOON! Thank you.

Staff were very nice and polite always there to help. Had a beautiful meal of gammon and chips and fella had steak and kidney pie , both meals were lovely. Very good value for money

Have visited on several occasions now over the years. Went for a family christmas treat here on sunday. Had the sunday roasts and our 13 year old had the lasagne. Everyone enjoyed it thoroughly including the deserts. The quality of food, amount of food and service were excellent. It was busy and yet we were not left waiting long for our food to arrive. The interior is also very nicely decorated and has a homely feel with a touch of elegance. Finally, the owner Sue, what a lovely, friendly and kind woman. She makes your visit special. Herself and her team work hard and really make this place worth a visit.

This is our second visit and both times the food and service has been excellent. The steak pie should definately be awarded the most yummiest in the world. As for the Ferrero Rocher cheesecake I say no more, it's to die for. So good to find a restraunt in this area of Yorkshire that is so consistent with such good food. So good we are going back in a few days to try the recommended from other customers 'the curry' The hospitality from the landlady on both visits has also made a big difference. First time we visited we took our 6 year old and the restaurant was very children friendly. Will definately keep on visiting.

We visited this venue a while ago now but it is a memorable place to visit. A good place to visit if you are visiting Burton Constable Hall, a place to stop off for your evening meal.The quality of the food was very good and served hot. The surroundings are comfortable, and there is plenty of parking at this Restaurant. I would certainly return here. We passed this place on our way to Burton Constable Hall and it reminded me the lovely time I had at this venue.

I went today for lunch with family, I was welcomed by two lovely waitresses with a big smile, then along came a young chap who also greeted us. We were offered drinks immediately whilst we studied the menu, we were offered also to view the specials board also which I was amazed, a three course lunch for under £8, our meal came and was cooked to perfection, Well done the Railway, top marks .

There were just two of us and we arrived at the Railway Inn at about 6.30pm last Sunday evening. The staff were very welcoming and pleasant. We did not have to wait too long after ordering our meal and when it arrived it was plentiful and delicious. Will definitely go back there again.

10 of my family went for my 50th birthday and we had a lovely evening, The food was ample and well cooked home cooking. We did have to wait for a while even though the restaurant wasn't full. Staff was friendly and we had a lovely evening

We had a family gathering of over forty adults and children including babies in high chairs. The welcome we had was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for all the staff. The food was excellent, we were all served together and the food was piping hot.we were offered extra veg and gravy as required. One elderly lady in our party couldn't manage a sweet and a member of staff asked her if she would like coffee instead, which delighted her. The Yorkshire puddings were large and fresh . In all an excellent meal and venue

We were scratching our head where to go this evening and my friend mentioned this,we rang in advance to check out the Menu and the Man who answered was very helpful.On arrival the Car park was busy,always a good sign at eating places.On arrival we were greeted by the same Man who I'd spoke to on the phone who actually recognised my voice.The interior is very spacious and modern but has managed to keep an warm Pub feel to it.My friend had Steak Pie,I had the Mixed Grill,very generous portions and quality home cooked Veg.Put it simply we both agreed this is a place to revisit again,and that to me speaks for itself.

We were visiting our son and family last week and had dinner at the Railway Inn, great food, pleasant surroundings and lovely staff

Been a couple of times and the food is lovely but the blonde woman behind the bar who i think is the owner i find very rude. Never makes eye contact and when we was paying never said thankyou for your custom or anything. Wont be going here again.

My partner and i eat here regularly and are always impressed by the atmosphere and great food. I normally have the steak pie and never leave feeling hungry, as it is tasty and a large portion size. The staff are always welcoming, i would reccomend to anyone.

Thankyou very much for a fantastic evening last night.The meals were fantastic ,we had 38 members eating and each and every one said how much they enjoyed there meals which were piping hot and quickly served by friendly staff. The Beef and Salmon and Chicken were very tasty.The starts and sweet were also great. I would like to thank Michelle and Jane who both were so helpful in organising this dinner nothing was too much trouble for them . Once again thankyou to everybody at the Railway for making it a fantastic night.

My family & I visit here quite often and the last few visits I have been disappointed with the food.. Some weeks the fish & chips are great other weeks the batter is really soggy. My dad & boyfriend love the homemade pie. I went with a friend last week on a Thursday evening and since then I definitely am not in a hurry to go back.I ordered lasagne with garlic bread & portion of chips.. The lasagne looked as though it was a frozen meal & put into a dish there was no taste at all it definitely wasn't a homemade lasagne. The garlic bread was a baguette that you get out of a shop bought twin pack & the chips were definitely frozen!!! Nothing homemade. My friend got the pie & it looked completely different to what my dad normally gets it was a puff topping whereas on a weekend it is always a shortcrust pie making me think again that it wasn't homemade. The pudding I got ginger raspberry and choc cheesecake there was just no taste to it was just like eating whipped cream.I was thoroughly disappointed and there are a lot of other nicer places to eat in the surrounding area.

Everything seemed to be cooked with fresh ingredients, good value for money and very pleasant surroundings.
