Lovely place with great food. All 4 of us had different dishes and all loved them. Staff were great also - will definitely be back!

IF you have not been here to eat before, GO, it's the best place for miles, food is excellent, as is the service. GO NOW !!!

This is a regular place to eat for my 90yr old Mum but the very first time I have eaten there. Quins is clean and bright with a well rounded menu which also caters for those of us with Coeliac disease. Booking was straightforward despite the popularity of Quins, the staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble!The food was excellent and cooked to absolute perfection and the portion size was also perfect. In terms of cost, again this was very reasonable indeed! Its very clear that team Quins have the entire customer experience very much at the forefront of their minds and going the extra mile or delivery the small touches sets Quins apart from a great many other establishments! I will most definitely be back the next time I visit mum. Thank you!

Exquisite,This is the ONLY place to eat in Galashiels(for us).The staff are friendly and attentive, & the owner/manageress is always visible.We have been back for just a couple of cups of coffee & the attention we received was just as good as the other (many) times we visited, including Christmas dinner in 2019.Go & enjoy it, as I said, its EXQUISITE.

This place never disappoints. Friendly, attentive service and excellent food. We live in London but use this restaurant for reunions when visiting family in the Borders.

Visited this restaurant on a day trip with the kids during the school break. They had decent options for children and adults. The taste and quality of food were good and the price was reasonable as well. I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly as well. Would god again when in Galashiels as it's just over a 5-minute walk from the train station.

Easy to book and very friendly with excellent service. The food was good and well priced. We felt safe with the Covid measures.

It wasn't just because most other restaurants were closed on a Monday evening that this place was buzzing. Rather it was the excellent food graciously served and at a very reasonable price. Special thanks to the 'engineer'! who fixed our wobbly table and rescued my face mask from the dark recesses behind a radiator!

As 2 households we booked a meal at Quins the Sunday before Christmas. A warm welcome was given by Sylvia and we chose our food from both the main and Christmas menu. The soup, smoked salmon and brie were delicious. Our varied mains consisted of the traditional turkey and trimmings, pork medallions and the lasagne. All were delicious. As were the desserts. All accompanied by prosecco and beer. Friendly service received by both our servers and a great Sunday meal was had. Thoroughly recommend. Look forward to returning once we can. Thanks again

We went here for our first drink out since lockdown- we were not only impressed with the service which was as good as it always is there more impressed that the lovely manageress treated us to a complimentary bowl of chips to go with our wine! She said she’d missed us! One of our favourite places anyway with it’s great food, service and ambience, so there’s absolutely no question of us going back again (and again) ! Would recommend this pub/restaurant to anyone

We really enjoyed our family of three visit to Quins for a teatime treat at 5.45pm on a Tuesday. Good covid process was in evidence. We ordered three different main courses..salmon, burger and steak with all three arriving within 20 minutes despite it being a busy time. All meals were nicely presented as well as tasty. Thank you.

I have visited twice recently. I would say the staff are generally quite friendly, although I do think they expect a certain criteria in their restaurant and if you dont fit the standards you may not feel as comfortable as in the majority of other places in the area. Not the place to nip in after a day of shopping in the rain I'd say for sure, more of a pre booked glamorous occasion which is fair enough. Although we were seated unbooked which was appreciated. The waitress who served us was very friendly and we were attended to kindly. The food was okay. I wouldnt say it was great, nor would I say it was to a high standard. The desserts were average, I must say I have had better for half the price. But they have a varied menu which is great, and I'm sure there are things on the menu which are delicious we just weren't lucky enough to have ordered those items. Just not the place for us I'd say...but I'm sure others will and do love it.

Our 3rd visits. Friendly staff. We love the bacon roll and the coffee was yummy!! We sat outside this time it was lovely the Restaurant was a wee bit busy but we didnt have to wait long for the food :) see you again soon!! Highly recommend

On a visit to Galashiels for the day stumbled upon Quins in Market St. What a catch, outside decor really inviting quick look at the fare looked good OK pricing was normal so we gave it a shot. I had the haggis bon bons at £6:50 my wife had the brie and cranberry toastie at £5:50 our server Sylvia was perfect, honest so witty considering the current climate etc.. We also had a bottle of pinot which was not overpriced. All in all spotless,food fantastic very friendly staff funny and polite cannot fault this place at all your missing out if you bypass this place, honest it's a jewel give it a try...

Like a lot of people we were apprehensive about going out to eat, however we were very reassured by all the Covid-19 precautions taken by Quinn’s and it’s staff. Lots of hand sanitisers, trace and track done on a small card on the table. Service and food excellent, Sunday roast very tasty and home grown Lindean strawberries as a sweet. Let’s keep the Borders economy going, don’t hesitate eat out.

Delighted with & enjoyed our takeaway from Quins Galashiels. Everything came piping hot, fresh and tasted amazing. Good service when we ordered and collected. Thank you very much.

Pleased to see Quins reopen for takeaway. I had a delicious salmon salad. For "afters" decided to have a piece of coffee and walnut cake - my favorite!!! I'll certainly be back for more!!

A well decorated cosy restaurant with a lovely owner. Sticky chicken and fish and chips were very good quality choices. Delicious and the cheesecake homemade. They have a great menu with locally sourced dishes also available.

Went for a post rugby meal with friends, which we enjoyed very much. I had the Haggis Nachos , Baked Cod and Malteser Cheesecake, all delicious. Nice service and a nice warm haven on a cold February night.

After an appointment at the BGH, took my dad here to get some late breakfast. Food was great and the staff where all smiling. Even tho it was busy was seated quickly and served just as quick. Amazing coffee and even came with my fav choc :).Will definitely be back.Thanks girls

Have always used this place for lunch when attending the Borders General Hospital and I have never been disappointed with either the food or staff , until today that was, my sister and I visited for lunch , we arrived right in the thick of the lunchtime rush so I have gave an allowance for that. However that was when it all started to go wrong, after being seated we waited for either the guy who was buzzing around like goodness knows what or one of the other girls to serve us, I had the baked potato with prawns and my sister had eggs on toast, the potato was lovely but I could t eat the prawns as you could visibly see there intestines through the prawn very off putting, even when they were not eaten the waitress never asked me if there was a problem and never were we asked if everything was okay or I would have taken the opportunity to show them the prawns. This being bad enough I have to say the staff that I always found helpful we’re a total nightmare snapping at each other and arguing back and forward , a couple came in and were seated beside the door they were obviously getting a draft and asked to move seat , they were told all the tables were reserved so they got up and walked out. My sister suffer badly with anxiety and felt really bad as to being stuck in the middle of this, I only hope this doesn’t happen again as I said earlier I have always used Quinn’s and look forward to using it agin.

After long time break once again to Quins with my kids as we feel very cosy good environment very good staff good service. Had a lovely breakfast.

We stopped in at Quins for lunch early December & last week visited again for coffee's & breakfast rolls. On both occasions we were warmly welcomed. Served very quickly. The food was well presented & a plentiful portion. We found the prices to be very reasonable. We would definitely recommend & will be back again. Keep up the good work.

First time in Quins for works Christmas party. Great choice on the menu with something for everyone.Haggis Bon Bons for starters with Turkey and all the trimmings finished of with a fruit sundae washed down with lovely house red.Great atmosphere and happy staff. I will definitely be back again.

Within walking distance just minutes from my Bed and Breakfast this place was truly amazing. Reasonably priced and just about more than I could eat (but, I managed to fight my way to the end). I had a soup appetizer and then the Sticky Chicken entree. When in Galashiels, I will dine here again.

dined here on Saturday 12/10/19 before visiting cinema. Had a beautiful meal with wine . Try the early supper menu for a great meal at a very good price. the staff are very helpful and the surroundings are pleasant. food is all cooked fresh and very tasty.

Friendly and helpful staff with prompt and attentive service was the highlight here. My partner and I took advantage of the early bird special with appetizer/dinner before catching a train back to Edinburgh. Our food was reasonably good. The grilled fish was the better meal, while the chicken was a little dry. Sides were average. Drinks selection was just the basics.

Chose here as I didn't want a supermarket cafe for a light meal. Very welcoming staff promptly offered food menu. Food was fresh and well presented with no long wait. Would certainly visit again if in the area.

Lovely family dinner on Saturday night. Staff were very friendly, service was great and all the food was delicious. Great salad with my pan fried salmon. Apple Pie and custard was yummy too! Other desserts looked very nice too.

What a delightful gem of a place. We hadn't pre-booked a table but we were greeted and seated by the owner who was a delight from start to finish, very attentive and made our 3 children and us very welcome. The food was presented well and very tasty, the atmosphere and service was very good.

My Beloved and I were having a busy couple of days and needed a light lunch. As it happened we were walking past Quinn’s. What a find! My Beloved had salmon with pink peppercorns and potatoes, they were perfectly cooked and yummy. I had Coronation chicken sandwiches which were clearly home-made and were quite the best spiced I have ever had - really clean fresh flavour of a curry expert. Service was charming and efficient. Appreciated the WiFi too for a quick touchdown.

This is a fantastic restaurant. I visited yesterday with a group of ladies. We were greeted warmly, two jugs of tap water immediately brought to our table, drinks orders were taken (by the very attentive Matthew) and menus provided. The décor is what I would describe as comfortable modern and the food is delicious. Check out their online menu. The whole establishment is spotless and the staff are so friendly and helpful.

Stopped in here for some lunch. The place was clean and the staff helpful and friendly. We were told they were busy and that we would have a bit of a wait for our food as its made to order. We weren't in a hurry so it wasn't a problem. The sandwiches and ciabattas were lovely, the chips and coffee piping hot. Maybe a bit expensive but we enjoyed the food and drinks.

A comprehensive menu giving a good choice of good price meals. Friendly staff, and excellent food. In town centre, a few minutes from the railway station and cinema. Nice wine list.

As a regular @ Quins I always enjoy a delicious meal from the extensive menu. However if I would like something different the staff always attempt to accommodate my request. Flat white coffee is my favorite and always piping hot which is how I enjoy it. Staff are courteous, helpful and attentive.

A great evening in Quins, I had the parfait and the lamb and my colleague had soup and chicken. Good wine choice and attentive staff.

Went with a group of girlfriends and none of us would be in a rush to return. Food was only average or below. Expensive for what you get and service was slow.

We went for a day to Galashiels and happened to fine this Gem! The service was absolutely wonderful, extremely friendly ladies who work here. As someone who can’t have gluten I was happy to see they had a gluten free menu. I had the burger with salad and potatoes it was delicious! The people with me had the non gluten free food, haggis burger, baked potato and mushroom and prawn ciabatta sandwich and all thought their food was fabulous!! If you’re coming to Galashiels this is the place to go!!

We had a superb dinner at this restaurant. Fast and friendly service brought excellent starters: a smoked salmon and a unique and tasty salad with baby beets and fresh orange as well as tomatoes and cucumbers. We both had the tender lamb shank. The roasted vegetables that accompanied the lamb were so well prepared, they were also a highlight. Excellent coffee and a scrumptious dessert of meringue with butterscotch sauce, cream and ice cream. A wonderful meal.

In town for the day and decided on Quins for lunch. Very large portions all freshly prepared. Haddock was very tasty. Staff very friendly and good service, appeared to be high percentage of regulars.

First time eating here but definitely not the last. A lovely atmosphere complimented by a varied and tempting menu served by delightful and attentive staff. Our party of 4 had a variety of meals and all were delicious. On top of the regular menu we were offered a meal deal card (main course and drink for £10) and there was a 'specials' board as well.

This place is ideal for lunches or light bites. The home-cooked food is mix of cafe and pub favourites, with something for (almost) everyone. Soups, paninis, toasties, fish and chips to burgers and more. Quality is very good, without being startling - I would prefer more chunky veg in my leek and potato soup. That aside, not a lot to fault. Good coffee too!

Came for breakfast with the family on the last day of our visit to Scotland for the bank holiday! Lovely atmosphere, great friendly staff and yummy food! As we arrived the cafe was bustling which is always a good sign and we weren’t disappointed! Would definitely recommend!

My companion and I stumbled on Quins last year on a visit to Galashiels (we support the local football team Gala Fairydean Rovers FC from a distance). With no disrespect to Galashiels, which is a gritty, industrial town in the Scottish Borders, we were very pleasantly surprised by the standard of the cuisine. We returned this year and were delighted that the standards were just as high. I had a broccoli soup followed by lamb and it was delicious. My companion had cheese on garlic bread followed by fish and chips. He was well satisfied with his choices. We washed the meal down with a bottle of Peroni each. The staff are so friendly, which makes a visit to Quins extra special and something to treasure. We have now established our routine - lunch at Quins then off to the fitba to watch Gala. They won 3-2 on this occasion!

This resturant sits right nxt door to Tesco ' s. By the looks of it, it used to be a public house in days gone by ( oh for those days to return ) anyway...we walked in for a bite to eat and were not disappointed. It's a spotless establishment and was quite full which is always a good sign . Looking at the menu there is a good variety of food i. e. Something for everyone. We ordered homemade lentil soup and bacon/cheese on toast which came with salad and sweet pickle. Both dishes were very very tasty. Looking at the Sweet menu, it tells you all the cakes pastries etc are all homemade, they did look so very inviting, I must admit. But not being a pudding type of guy I left that to my better half, she opted for a sponge cake which she assures me was so light and delicious. The staff were very attentive but not to much, they have it spot on, and so polite which in these days speaks volumes well done. I got the impression that the lady who owns this restaurant runs a 'tight ship' which again is refreshing to see and well done to her. Try Quins and I feel certain you will return as we shall nxt time we are in Galashiels, thank you Quins.

Went here the other Friday with my daughter, we were visiting and as it was lunch time we were looking for somewhere to eat, we went onto trip advisor to see what was in Galashiels and this came up with a good review. We walked in and wasn't sure if we waited to be seated or go to bar so stood for a few moments then as we went to go to bar someone did come and we said we would like a table for 2, shown to table then left. 2 older women came in took a seat on table next to ours, waitress then went up and asked if they wanted a menu, we then asked waitress leaving that table if we could get a menu. At some point the waitress then said I'm going to serve this table with the 2 women at as they know what they want, eventually we got served including taken an order for drinks. Food was great but as a stranger visiting for first time front of house needs improving.

The food is fine, it's standard fare cooked in a standard way. I was impressed by the selection of vegetables available for someone who does not eat carbs.

Another visit to Quins this time for lunch, ordered from the specials board, and as usual it was excellent experience throughout, it was very busy but very quick service, just booked a table for the 9th April,

This was my third visit to this establishment and have thoroughly enjoyed each of these visits excellent selection and choice of food and drink with prompt and friendly service. Lady who I took to be the proprietor kept a close watch on the proceedings to see everything was going smoothly. Went in intending to have just a snack but decided to have full lunch which was delicious..

For anyone looking for an unusual, or sublime dining experience in Galashiels..... This is it! The food and the service are impeccable. Five star rating does not feel high enough It was our Anniversary, it was the best experience and unforgettable moments for my life. Each course was exquisite. A lovely Indian lady selected all my families main course, unbelievably we enjoyed all our food amazing. She exactly knew our taste thanks alot for make it so special. Special thanks to the lovely lady who spent time at our table although it was super busy.

We popped in here on Saturday for a bite to eat and were very impressed with the high standard of decor, food and service. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced and the service friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Loved the menu too, there were several options I’d have quite happily ordered which is frequently not the case in other establishments. If we’re ever back in the area and looking for something to eat we’ll definitely be back at this place.

This was our first visit but, we will return. My headline really says it all, you’re well looked after and very well fed, what more could you ask for? I suppose I would have been happier if the food had arrived a little sooner but I’m being picky, it was lunchtime, quite busy and as they tell you, the food is freshly cooked , to order so perhaps I was just hungry and a bit impatient.My wife had the chicken in garlic with cheese and said she enjoyed it very much. I had a ‘Build your own’ Burger which I had with onion rings and bacon it was delicious and with the portion of coleslaw, salad and also chips, I’m afraid the chips defeated me and I just couldn’t eat any more. We enjoyed our meal and look forward to oir next visit

I have been to Quins before, and always liked the place, but Feb 15th 2019 they surpassed themselves, from the warm welcome to leaving was a fantastic experience, the lady who owns the place I think she was called Sylvia, (did not have my hearing aid in) had things running so smooth, our waitress Lauren from Nebraska was great so helpful, and the food was fantastic, thank you all at Quins for making this night a special one.

Our first visit on day out with family from down south. Staff very welcoming and helpful during our lunch. 3 courses with couple of drinks, very nice and great value for money. Definitely worth a visit if in area.

Been a while since we visited this restaurant due to living overseas for 2 years - absolutely delighted to say the standard hasn’t changed. Popped in for coffee and a bacon roll on a busy Saturday morning. Served promptly by the waitress and the coffees arrived quickly, piping hot and great coffee! The hot rolls took a little while to arrive due to being freshly cooked to order and they were absolutely delicious. Not the cheapest but they are large with lots of filling so worth every penny. Would highly recommend a visit any time of the day! We will definitely be returning on a regular basis.

Christmas lunch with 15 colleagues so 16 of us in all. Great food and great service with attentive staff and very reasonably priced. Good atmosphere as well as restaurant was fully booked

Really disappointed with our lunch here. We pre- booked but waited 40mins for the food. Staff are not unfriendly but just don’t really interact with the customers. Soup was good and other meals just ok but unforgivably the two sandwiches ordered had noticeably stale bread. What is worse, one was white and one was brown so not from the same loaf. Yes it was the 2 January but Tesco across the road was open with plenty of fresh bread. I don’t like to leave a negative review and Gala is desperate for decent restaurants but stale bread is just crossing a line. We won’t be back

Had a wee run to galashiels today and went to Quinn's for a bacon roll. It was excellent. Been here a few times and cannot fault the service. The owner runs a very tight ship. Well done to her.

Very friendly staff and good atmosphere. Gave it a second chance as id had xmas meal with family previous year. I ordered the veg stir fry and found it tasted ok but rather boring woth more carrots than anything else. I was the only vegetarian ( try to follow a vegan diet which can be difficult eating out) in the group. One other person had the veg stir fry and also found it ok but boring and heavy on carrots. It was described as veg and nuts but not many nuts there. I was surprised they were doing exactly same veggie dish as last xmas. There was one other veg main which i didnt choose because it looked to contain dairy which i dont eat. For me it was a very overpriced stir fry as it lacked any interesting ingredients. How about more nuts and more interesting veg? The melon starter was tasty but portions could be bigger. Wont be returning next christmas unless i see more interesting veggie choices. What about so some vegetarian roasts?

Had been Inn for a quick breakfast as it is my favourite place for sinday morning after mass. As usal best breakfast and good service too.

We visited here last week with our little girl for lunch on a Saturday, the place was packed which is always a good sign, but we sat at the table for quite a while without being given menus so we had to go ask for them. And because there was table numbers we assumed you had to get up and order, but that wasn’t the case. Although when the food came it was lovely I especially enjoyed the wedges. If I was to comment on one more thing we thought the waitresses uniform was slightly revealing (skin tight leggings which were see through in the light!)

Would highly dispute the review on here which says "owner rude" as every member of staff we encountered when we came here were friendly, polite and seemed to go out of their way for customers! Great staff, they were attentive and knew about the menu which I think is extremely important.

Just enjoyed Quins sticky chicken meal which was served promptly and with a smile. Sylvia (owner) Kelly(duty manager) and all the female staff are most welcoming, quietly efficient, and helpful. The staff always appear unrushed even when it is obvious the restaurant is really busy which creates a welcoming calm atmosphere.

Visit here on Wednesday 5th September for a late lunch. Was greeted by a lovely chap with a pony tail. Food was fresh and lovely and well worth the price. Would 100% recommend it.

The food was very good , nice and hot when it got to me , fast service which is always nice , and it’s clean , friendly staff . The atmosphere is very nice with light music playing and not blaring like some . I had the scones and jam . The scones were nice and warm . No problems to get a top up of tea either . I would recommend a wee visit if your in the area .

Our church was on a bus trip from Fife to the borders. On the way home we stopped at Quins for high tea. The food was excellent and the service outstanding. Well done to the staff for the service and making us all feel so welcome. The meal was a great hit for everyone.

Small restaurant in Galashiels. Good food at reasonable prices and the best gourmet hot chocolate. Serves afternoon teas and cakes and supper menus for later on. Food is good and service excellent.

My Friend and I had a Lovely lunch here today, we came to Galashields on the Steam Train trip from Edinburgh and was recommended this restaurant by fellow travellers and we were glad we did, I had a Lovely Roast beef dinner and as I have a (Dairy allergy) the Staff and Chef made sure that my meal was suitable for me and my friend had Macaroni, that she said was delish!!!, the staff work very hard and the restraurant was very busy but were very courteous and friendly at all times, we would both recommend eating here.

Stopped here for a late lunch with friends. Specials on blackboard were finished as were the baked potatoes but still a good choice left on the menu. Scampi and chips and fish and chips were the favourite choices for the six of us.

Just for breakfast with my friend who came from Edinburgh really enjoyed it as it is my favourite place very clean, and very Good service. Thanks

Our steam train excursion to Tweedbank was so badly delayed that we would miss our lunch booking in Melrose. Thank goodness for Quins - we diverted to Galashiels and at almost no notice Quins put on a superb lunch for 13 people. Great menu, really friendly staff that took our panic in their stride. All dishes cooked to perfection and very reasonably priced. They thoroughly deserve their top rating and we would highly recommend a visit. Well done Quins and thank you.
