Score and reviews

Just back after a wonderful meal at Quince and Medlar in Cockermouth. Have added some pictures which hopefully do some justice to an absolutely fabulous tasting menu for two. We are both vegan and were catered for fantastically well. This was certainly in the fine dining category but in a relaxed friendly atmosphere and the restaurant itself is lovely. It was worth every penny and delighted to recommend to anyone who reads this. Faultless !

Fellpack

30/09/2020: We enjoyed an early dinner here yesterday (booked in advance). Service was efficient and we didn’t wait long for anything. The food was very tasty and we enjoyed a couple of local beers as well. Marked down a star as we realised after leaving they had charged us higher prices for our main courses than what was on the menu.
12/09/2020: Just had a very delicious take away fromFellpack.Staying in Keswick with our little dog and not happy eating out as everywhere seems busy.We decided to try a take away from here after seeing the advert outside.Ordering was simple on line and food was ready at the allocated time.Partner had the Thai meatballs which he said were delicious and I had the chickpea and sweet potato curry which was amazingHave not eaten here before but certainly will again, lovely food and thank you

The Lingholm Kitchen & Walled Garden

08/09/2020: Called into The Lingholm Kitchen and Walled Garden while staying at a B&B in nearby Keswick. You can drive here but we walked after getting the Keswick Launch to Hawes End and then taking a 30 minute walk to the Lingholm. We had hot drinks and chocolate fudge cake - all very good. There is a wide selection of food and drink ( inc alcoholic) available. The Walled Garden is a delight and is adjacent to the Kitchen tea rooms. Alpacas and sheep are close by too.Well worth a visit - Beatrix Potter was a frequent visitor and the walled garden was her inspiration for Mr McGregor et al
01/09/2020: Just met some friends here for coffee so cant really comment on the food. Service and coffee were excellent though. Only slight let down is the echo like acoustics inside make conversation difficult. We moved to an outside table which was much more pleasant. Lovely location on a nice day.
