Well cooked, tasty food, but too much salt on chips. Opened paper when got home and salt just covered counter top. Friendly, cheerful, polite staff. Will use again.

Not what it used to be, £9.60 for medium cod and chips phew! Thank God it was only me eating and not the rest of the family otherwise that would have been a fifty quid dinner

Another great freshly cooked fish an chip shop fish superb and big as well lovely batter with more chips than I could manage i will go there as often as I can i just wish it was nearer to my home but a trip worth making ,its making me hungary just thinking about it!

Best fish and chip shop I've used for a long time, service is superb. They even kept the bar shop open for my latest order when they were closing on a Sunday. Very good customer service, no hassle for them at all. Plus their pricing is superb for a meal compared to other foods in the area.

I have used the fish and chip shop for years and years and this is the first time I have been disappointed. Fish barely cooked, soggy batter and soggy chips. I know they can do better so please do !

We were passing thru the town on a Monday late afternoon,and checked on the website which said it was open. When we got there a notice on the door said 'closed for holiday' which was really disappointing as there was nowhere else locally to eat. Why not update the website!!!!! We had eaten there before, about 8 months ago and the chips were not great but we were going to give them another try. But if we come this way again we will avoid this place.

Delighted to see they were open at lunchtime we stopped for a takeaway. The cod was honestly the best I can ever remember. The batter was crispy and delicious with good size fish portions. Nice chips too!

Lovely fresh chips. The fish cake was delicious. Battered sausages come in one size. Chicken burger didn't come with any sauce or salad. All still tasted great. Very happy.

This is proper fish and chips. The fish is always fried well with crispy batter on the outside, covering noticeably fresh and relatively large fillets of fish - even when “small” size portions are ordered. The haddock is fantastic and it sells out regularly. The chips are chunky and freshly fried, and I’ve never tasted that reused oil of reheated texture that you sometimes get in other lesser quality chippies. This is a very popular chippy so at peak times there can be a 10 minute wait, but the staff are very friendly and will take phone orders in advance. I have occasionally received extra free portions just because the staff there seem to reward loyal and recurrent customers.

my wife and i live in hailsham and have fish and chips once a week we allways go to qualitty fish and chips , its fresh cooked for you during lockdown we have ordered and never had to wait very long for it,

Awful. I saw the staff handle cash then carry on with their duties inside without washing or sanitising their hands. When I mentioned this, I was told that they had sanitised, I am not blind. I refused to take my order. Without the risk of covid, their standard of hygiene is very poor.

Sorry but very disappointed with our order tonight. Small cod, the batter was all soggy, not nice at all & the chips could have been fried for a couple of more minutes. Will stick to John's in future.

The best ever fish and chips! I would recommend phoning your order as they cook it all fresh. We go here all the time and have told all of our friends about this place, one friend said it was the best fish and chips he has ever had !! The fish is skinless as well

It's open on Sunday that's what I thought I'd try. Never again. Very expensive for a portion of chips especially with the size you get not like the real fish and chip shop. I won't be back.

Great fish and chip shop. Have been here 7 times over the last two years and it has been consistently good no matter how busy it is. Very tasty fish and chips. I found the best way for me to order is to call up and arrange a collection time as it can get very busy. (Busy is a good sign!!)

We regularly visit this fish and chip shop as it is only down the road from us. It is, by far, the best fish and chips we have ever eaten! We are not usually ones for regular take away... but we just cannot say no to Quality Fish and Chips. The portions are brilliant and amazing value for money. If we are travelling to a relative with them they will wrap them in foil for us. The staff are great, polite, friendly and on the ball! They now know what we want to order before they even ask us! We would highly recommend these fish and chips and have fed a lot of our family and friends who agree with how brilliant they are! Thank you quality Fish and Chips for being so local!! Not sure our waste bands agree!
