Great food, friendly service, can’t recommend highly enough - if you like Thai food you can’t go wrong here. Our favourite local restaurant by far.

It is always difficult to find Thai restaurants in England that haven’t had the food overly ‘westernised’ ie. made too sweet and generally had the distinct flavours softened for the apparently fragile western palate. For those who want to experience genuine Thai cuisine this is bad news. Saying that, I enjoyed my meal here at the Pusanon Thai restaurant in Crowborough. The ambience is pretty standard but perfectly fine. We visited during a mid-week lunchtime so was not busy and the lady serving was pleasant and efficient. The classic Prik Nam Pla dipping sauce was the genuine article which is always an encouraging sign. The 2 course £10.50 set lunchtime menu seems very good value for nowadays. We did order a couple of extra dishes from the a la carte menu though and in my greedy opinion they were needed(we were a party of 3). It has a reasonable choice of some of the most popular dishes. Though it suffers from the point I make at the beginning of this review it is better than many I have experienced and the ingredients were fresh. I wouldn’t make a special journey to do so but I would happily eat here again.

This is a lovely restaurant with a very extensive menu, which should satisfy everyone interested in Thai cuisine . The quality of all the food was excellent, and the service was superb. We loved everything

The Pusanon never disappoints. Last night there were six of us, all family, for my wifes birthday. The food, wine and service were all absolutely excellent. Can’t wait to go back !!

Such amazing Thai food! Really fresh and authentic. The staff are so attentive, kind and polite which makes the experience even better. Can’t rate it enough!

A great choice of tables, first in. The menu was well presented, a party of three and away we went. Mussels, Breaded Prawns, Fried Squid, Prawn Toast with a bed of salad and dip. The mains followed, a great choice and reasonable portions. Drinks were non alcoholi, wines and beer. The mood was good and staff attentive, a second table of four arrived and I wish we should have tried the Platter.

Fantastic Thai take-away - portion sizes are big! Quality and taste great! And they use cardboard USA style noodle boxes instead of those ghastly see-thru plastic containers used by most other takeaways.

They do a great lunch menu for a tenner here. The food is always beautifully prepared and very tasty. Ambience is spot on. Looking forward to next visit.

Some time since we ate here due to the lockdown. The service is still excellent and the food delicious. Highly recommended.

Had a takeaway this evening, starters had hardly any flavour (prawn toast, veg springs rolls, chicken satay and vegetable tempura). The massaman curry was nice and the rice was OK. The staff however were not very polite. Can't say I would return.

Easy ordering. No corn cakes. I love them but it was explained to me that the special self raising flour they use is unavailable at this time in the pandemic. You can remote pay. Hand sanitiser by the till. Food just as delicious as always. Great flavours and such lovely people.

Improved table layout. Attentive staff and the food was lovely. Went the following week as well. Lunchtime and dinner. Would recommend.

Didn't plan on having lunch here (didn't plan on going to Crowborough, full stop) but so glad we did. The lunch menu is short and sweet; between us we had tiger prawns in filo, chicken satay, vegetable spring rolls, sweet and sour chicken and chicken Pad Thai. All served hot, fresh, in BIG portions (fab when you have hungry teenagers) and with just the right waiting time. Each dish was absolutely delicious and so generous; we love Thai food so to be presented with a mountain of Pad Thai was almost embarrassingly exciting. Also appreciated was the no-fuss attitude of offering tap water immediately and not pushing a lot of extras; the lady was very friendly and, completely unrelated to our own experience, proved to have the patience of a saint when the table behind us demanded that she go through the whole à la carte menu checking for gluten item by item before eventually settling on the soup... And it all came to under £40 for four people! Lucky Crowborough.

My wife and I have been here several times and it never disappoints. In fact it seems to get better every time! This Tuesday we went for my wifes birthday and it was excellent from start to finish. Excellent food, excellent service and excellent value! We could not fault anything and cannot wait to go back.

After a busy week with the grandchildren my daughter and son in law treated us to supper. The menu is good for the family with something for everyone. The service was warm and attentive, the food very tasty.

Have been back several times over the years and always enjoyed the food. It has changed names and maybe management but there has been a consistent female manager here which has always made you welcome. This was possibly the best Thai meal we have had since Amsterdam -20 years ago. The food was hot-delicious and served pretty promptly. There were several 'young' staff all very efficient and a constant attention to keep glasses refilled etc. Very well managed. A very good ratio of waiters to customers. As usual we ordered too much and the obligatory 'doggie-bag' was requested. They should charge for this service. Something we would not be used to but see no reason why they shouldn't. Takes time and uses disposable which are not part of what you have paid for. The ambience of the restaurant still needs some attention but otherwise I cannot express how good it was.

Lovely atmosphere and excellent service. Service always friendly and personal. Food is consistently very good.

I have eaten here twice in the last month, having just discovered it. Impressed on both occasions by the food and the service - particularly considering the restaurant was almost full the first time.The only reason for marking down one star is the restaurant is a bit of a ‘rectangular box’ which has a slight effect on the ambiance. Otherwise, this is a solid recommendation and a potential 5 star

The restaurant was very accommodating to our needs. We arrived late and needed gluten free. The food was served promptly and was fresh and perfectly cooked with lovely flavours. We were a group of four, ordering a starter and main each. The portions were generous and we enjoyed it all. We would love to go back again!

Thai is our favourite for flavours and lightness of the food, however so often the quality of the beef lets them down. Not so here, superb quality, soft and tender, no fat or tendon at all. I love Nua Pad Gra Prow and this is top of the pops here, lovely heat level as well, not so hot you can’t taste the flavours properly.

A super Thai restaurant, particularly good value at lunchtime (2 courses for £10). we have tried several other Thai place locally but this is easily the best.

Previously I have had vegetable green Thai curry from here and liked it.

My wife and I ate here whilst staying nearby, and based on the TripAdvisor reviews. On a Saturday in May it was quite busy early on, but much quieter later (we booked). From the outside it is just a small high street shop, and the decor is nothing special, but the welcome was lovely and the food was excellent. We had a generous mixed starter, a Massaman curry (fabulous sauce), Crying Tiger (tasty sizzling steak), Drunken Noodles and rice with a couple of beers and G&Ts;, all coming to £62. We could have done with more rice and less noddles, but overall very satisfying. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. Only negatives was that there could have been more of a Thai atmosphere, the music was barely audible and the decor a little plain. Recommended for the food - parking is easy in the shopping car park behind the high street,

Excellent Thai food. Book if you are going on a Friday or Saturday evening. The Thai prawn salad is fantastic. A great restaurant run by a lovely couple.

Been going to this restaurant for many years. All my family and friends rate this as the best place they've ever eaten a good Thai food. Really hospitable staff.

I grab a Thai when I can. This is my favourite Thai restaurant in the area. Better than those in Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge. They do a great lunch time special as well, 2 courses for £9.99. Really tasty food, great service and unbelievable presentation.

What a lovely gem we stumbled upon today in Crowborough. Everything about Pusanon Thai Restaurant is first class yet the prices are reasonable.

Delicious and good value. Phoned to order and agreed pick up time for when food would be ready. Efficient and Good service.

We frequently visit Pusanon restaurant for the low cost Thai lunch - a limited choice but very good value. This was our first takeaway. The menu, presumably the same as the restaurant’s evening menu, is extensive and interesting. Not cheap but very good quality and absolutely delicious.

I loved this restaurant, the staff were lovely & the food was well cooked & very tasty. We wiill definately return.

So, fancied a fresh spicy tasty alternative to a normal Saturday night chomp and happened upon this fantastic restaurant. Straight away you are made to feel welcome by the highly attentive staff who offer a first class service...thank you! As for the menu, the choice is excellent and you can’t fault any of the dishes, everything we had was exceptional. A massive credit to the chefs who have paid close attention to the details. A throughly enjoyable night that can’t be beaten if you are after a Thai experience. First class food, thank you again.

I would say this is one of the most authentic thai restaurants in the area. The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. The staff were so welcoming and always smiling! Furthermore, it was very clean- a perfect 10.

This was the first time I’d been to this restaurant. My niece was quite excited as it was her favourite restaurant in Crowborough.

We’d been here before and always had great meals, today was no different.

The good is always delicious. Chicken satay is a personal favourite. Have also had a takeaway, but prefer to eat in. Relaxed and friendly.

I have loved a takeaway from this restaurant for over a year now. In the last couple of weeks it has been terrible. I have had a green and a red curry and both have been so watery and not exaggerating it has been 75% bamboo strips which are so chewy I have left them. It's a shame because is is quite an expensive take away as a curry rice and veg spring rolls is £17.....very disappointed!

This is a really nice restaurant that serves good tasty food. If going at the weekend you need to book as it can be very busy. Definitely recommend

I live in Somerset but I visit family in Crowborough a couple of times a year and I make sure we eat here. If only I could take this restaurant home with me! It's just authentic Thai food cooked and served perfectly. Simple.

Food is always lovely and fresh and really tasty, menu has plenty to offer, staff are all really friendly and attentive, lovely thai food and lovely resaraunt, definately reccomend!

Best Thai food I have eaten in Sussex and nothing to match it in Kent either. I have enjoyed 20 + meals here over the last 3 years and returned again recently after 6 months of being away....Fresh, rustic, generous - set lunch never disappoints and dinner on this occasion was a feast. Varied, well priced wine list - can't remember origin of the white we drank, but it was a great pairing with the food. Very popular now, so would recommend booking for evening service. Great for larger parties. I sometimes eat here as a solo female too - always relaxed - staff are great.

The food was delicious. Although more expensive than the local,Chinese or Indian restaurants, Pusanon is worth the extra for the occasional treat.

Food was fabulous and service first class. Highly recommended. Mainly eat fish dishes but also duck, they were all wonderful. Will definitely make this a regular restaurant

Had dinner here with my brother, and we were greeted with a smile and welcomed the moment we opened the door. The food is outstanding, served in aesthetically pleasing tableware. I highly recommend the garlic chicken and the crying tiger, and don't forget to have it with COCONUT RICE. So flavourful and absolutely delicious! Although I do hope they add sticky rice and mango to the dessert menu, I'm sure it will be loved by many. ❤️

We have been there a number of times and the food has been consistently good , although the waitresses are very kind and humble they could be moody under pressure of the restaurant being busy!!

The menu is varied and reasonable. Food is consistently good as is the service. I suggest you pour your own wine! Twice only some glasses were topped up and as the wine was not shared some of the party had large glasses full and others none! A good way to get you to buy more and clearly deliberate when it was repeated.

Came to the area to stay for a long weekend to visit our Daughter and Partner in Crowborough and booked the Pusanon on recommendation. From start to finish we were not let down. The restaurant is smart, authentic and the service is second to none. We had the set banquet for four and this really did not disappoint at all. It was really really nice and I have not had such a good Thai meal for a long time. The place is so authentic using all the lovely dishes and bowls. The staff are dressed in the theme and all the staff are really polite and can not do enough for you. We had dessert, coffee and all in all it was an extremely great experience. Cant wait to go back.Great place good food and a wonderful atmosphere.

Lo bueno es este lugar? Mi primera visita, pero mi amigo sabía bien. Almuerzo de dos platos y una copa de vino para 2 por 35 libras, incluyendo la propina. Increíble relación calidad-precio y la comida muy sabrosa. Deliciosa carne chili salteado y generosas porciones. El ambiente era tranquilo, pero sigue siendo bueno y el personal muy amable. This restaurant has a lovely relaxed feeling, the staff are very friendly and attentive, and the food is beautifully presented with a lot of attention to detail. I think it is the ideal place for a special occasion as they go out of their way to welcome you and make your evening enjoyable..

Located in Croft Road in Crowborough, near Waitrose, a pleasurable place with excellent reasonably priced Thai food and pleasant helpful staff. What more can you ask for ? Would definitely recommend.

I usually eat only Thai green curry (because I like it so much). And had it here too. Was very good, arguably the hottest I've ever had. No complaints at all. It's our most local Thai, so most likely be back again.

Went here with a group of friends and was delighted by the quality of the food - absolutely gorgeous. The presentation also was exceptional and looked lovely (in fact, good enough to eat!). The staff were very friendly and helpful and they added a touch of quality to the whole experience. Would we go again - without hesitation.

Has a meal here for the first time on Saturday. I usually eat in Chinese and Indian restaurants and tried Thai food for the first time with a friend who regularly eats here. We had a mixed platter of starters which was good to try different starter dishes and had a sweet and sour prawn dish and noodles for main which I also enjoyed. The service and ambience of the restaurant was great. Wine was nice and water was continually topped up which is a nice touch.

Can not fault this place! Food was amazing and was perfect portion sizes. Staff nice and friendly. Not over priced. £9 ish for a main course and then approx £3 for a side of rice. Would definitely go back!

Wow food is amazing, staff so helpful, Wife and daughter visited while I was in hosp and raved about it, so we went back! Needless to say we will be going again! Even though we are in pevensey 26 miles away the trip is more than worth it. We highly recommend Pusanon.

This little intimate restaurant is great place for tasty and delicious food. The food is fresh and presented by traditionally dressed Thai staff who were very friendly and efficient. There was a nice atmosphere in the restaurant and the meal was by today's prices, exceptionally good value. I will gladly take my wife here again!!

We celebrated a friend's birthday yesterday evening and are planning to return in the near future. There was an excellent selection of food on the menu and while we waited for our food we had the best prawn crackers ever! We all chose different items from the menu and we were all very happy with our choices. The staff were very friendly. Highly recommend.

The food was lovely and although it was full to capacity it does lack a bit of atmosphere due to the decor/layout.

6 of us went for dinner last night, all ordered something different and all said the food was delicious. I had the seafood Thai curry which was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back. Worth spending a little more on the wine though as the cheaper bottles were not great.

wife and daughter visited here while I was in hospital. they hadn't booked and although very full they found room for them. food was amazing, really friendly service. wife and daughter are vegan and vegetarian and easily found something on the menu. lovely relaxing atmosphere,wish I went!!

We ordered set menu B, a good mixture of dishes, the prawn soup was spicy and lovely for it, the rest all great too. Recommended.

It really doesn't look much from the outside, there is no getting away from it! Inside is clean and very very bright. In fact if we had one thing to find wrong with the restaurant then they really need to do something about the lighting. So bright! Other than that it is very welcoming and lovely staff. We used to eat at a great Thai restaurant in Eastbourne and have tried, and failed, to find one that is similar. Having moved to Crowborough recently we took a while to find this place but having read the reviews on line we are pleased we have given it a go.All the food is reasonably priced as is the wine list (which is not extensive but adequate). I am a vegetarian and there was plenty of choice for me. My husband had duck to start with which could have been served a little hotter but all fine. I had beancurd with peanut sauce which was delicious. We both had a Thai curry - him beef and me vegetarian. Both were absolutely superb. My green curry was full of lovely vegetables cooked to perfection. Just the right amount of spices and very generous portions We shared the vegetarian noodles which were very tasty and some rice. What's not to like! I would say authentic Thai cooking in a spotlessly clean restaurant with friendly but not intrusive staff and a reasonable bill at the end of it! We would eat slightly later in the evening than 7.30pm as it lacked a bit of atmosphere with just us and another table but by 8.30pm it was packed. As I say, the only thing I would give as as a negative is the bright lighting but that is just being picky perhaps!

I have visited Pusanon on numerous occasions but always to collect our dinner we ordered to go. The service is so friendly and when I collect our dinner I always feel a little guilty for not sitting down and having my meal in the restaurant. The choices on the menu are really great and we have tried a diverse selection of meals. I would suggest giving yourself 30 minutes for orders on weekdays and but give an hour or more on Friday and Saturday's.

The food is superb, the flavours and choice of dishes excellent and the staff are so polite, friendly and gentle.I can highly recommend Pusanon for both quality of food and a wonderfully relaxing experience.

My partner and I have been many times now on our own and part of a group. The restaurant is always clean, tidy and inviting. The staff are friendly and the food is fantastic. A fantastic place for a meal in crowborough. Their takeaway also matches the same high standards.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. We were greeted as we walked in the door and shown to our table.We had the shared starter which was plenty of tasty food for the two of us. My least favourite thing on the plate was the chicken satay. I'm not sure what wasn't quite how I like it but I wouldn't choose the chicken satay again.For main course we had chicken curry, sizzling beef and a duck dish (sorry I can't remember the type, it was fried not roast). The taste of the chicken curry was okay, possibly too hot for me. However there was something about the chicken that put me off slightly. Again I don't know how to describe it but I won't choose chicken next time.I definitely would have the beef and duck again. I thought both dishes were very tasty and nicely presented. We shared a bowl of plain rice which was enough for us.When we left the restaurant was very busy and we had a slight delay to pay our bill. As we walked out the staff were all serving a large group that were at a number of tables.We were about 10 yards away when a member of staff came out the restaurant into the very cold evening to thank us, apologise for the delay and wish us a happy new year.I look forward to our next visit to this restaurant.

We booked for family occasion, the floor bounced me along as I walked as it had lifted in many places. The experience smelt of dampness. The staff were polite, but the food was average.

The Pusanon which is located in the center of Crowborough not far from waitrose and other shops in town.Pusanon has recently improved even better with special set menu every lunch time except Mondays.The food is always cooked freshly as you order, and to perfection.The atmosphere is warm, and very welcoming with the deco designed to make you feel comfortable and relaxed.

Our first visit here, after reading and hearing good reviews. There were four of us in our party and we visited at a Saturday lunchtime. Despite it being busy, including one very large party, we were looked after efficiently and attentively. The food was very good and everyone cleared their plates over both courses. We would be very happy to visit again.

After checking for gluten free options before making a reservation, I was very disappointed to find out that there was no gluten free starters at all, not on either menu which considering there was about 15 starters astounded me. I asked if the chef could modify any dish from the menu but the lady servicing us said that was impossible. Does this mean all the food is bought in pre prepared??? I then looked at the main courses and was told there was only one dish I could have. Obviously I opted for this, it was ribbon rice noodles with chicken, it was very slimy and oily and the chicken had a slight crunch to it! I'm not a particularly fussy eater but I really struggled with it, it was also seriously lacking in flavour. Will I be visiting here again ? Definitely not!

Visited with friends & their cuisine did not disappoint. We had a variety of dishes and all were excellent, cooked well (but not over done), tasty & with adequate portions. Staff were helpful, knowledgeable, polite & efficient. Their Italian White Wine was very nice.

By far the best Thai I've ever had! Really lovely fresh food. Well worth either visiting or taking away, only downside is they don't deliver if you want a take away!

The staff are delightful, charming and helpful. Varied menu, presentation of food is first class as well as so good to eat. Staff rise to the occasion for celebrations. All in all a first class restaurant.

The menu here is good, offers a wide variety of traditional thai food and the indoor decor is nicely done. Restaurant is very clean and the staff very friendly. We went on what seemed to be a busy night so there was a little wait for the food but other than that a good experience!

My wife and I recently went to Pusanon and were really impressed with the friendly reception and atmosphere. The menu was interesting, the service excellent and the food outstanding. One problem, my wife was suffering from the after effects of an illness and we had to rush our meal so didn't do the Pusanon justice, oh dear we'll just have to give it a second try, I can't wait.

I have the greatest admiration for the delightful lady who runs this restaurant. She works so hard and is very welcoming, thoughtful and kind. Furthermore the food is delicious and reasonably priced. When it just opened up my wife and I often had the restaurant to ourselves but now we always have to book! I'm not surprised that it has become soopular. This is my favourite restaurant in the area.

We went to the Pusanon Restaurant at lunch time as a Birthday treat for my wife's Mum and Dad. We had a really lovely Lunch of typical Thai food the quality of food and service was second to none. The service was very efficient but we did not feel rushed as at the end of our meal we were the only people left but the staff were quite happy for us to stay as long as we wanted.

I ordered tom yum gai (read: hot and sour chicken soup) and took a moment to admire its silky sheen and warm palate of colours, before swiftly diving in.Over the years, I'd felt that I'd developed a rather fine variation of this soup... something to comfort and enliven the senses of a winter's evening- but it never tasted remotely as good as this. Quite simply, this restaurant's offering has proven the tastiest and most exquisite soup I've ever had the good fortune to sup. Warming, spicy, tangy, creamy with a hint of coconut milk: all the aches and pains I had from a day trudging around Brighton in 30 degree weather vanished, and a ridiculous grin spread across my face.This is a soup by which others will now be judged. A legal high and no less, a bargain at twice the price and a truly rare find. Come and be amazed as I was!

The Pusanon is undoubtedly one of the best Thai restaurants in the area the food is as good as in Thailand and prepared to a very high standard. The team will make your visit one to remember and the quality will leave you wanting to come back. This is the place to go if your Crowborough way. The décor and ambiance of this great restaurant adds to this very fine dining experience.

Had a meal with my wife on a busy Friday evening. The restaurant is spacious and well decorated but because of the space it was very loud. The meal was very nice and beautifully cooked, just the right balance of flavours and spice. And it was reasonable too. Highly recommended.

Whilst my wife and self where staying with friends in Crowborough, they suggested we visit "Pusanon" for an evening meal. They were regulars at the restaurant and they highly recommended it. It all sounded very promising, so a table was booked for early evening. (Booking in advance is strongly advised due to its popularity). Now, whilst i've only ever had very few experiences of Thai food, I come from the "sea food" school of eating, ("see food" and eat it!), my wife is a bit more traditional and reserved in her tastes and she expressed slight concerns as to whether or not the quisine would be to her tastes as she'd never tried Thai food before. As it transpired, her worries were unfounded, the food was excellent. From first entering the restaurant, we were welcomed by a lovely waitress attired in Thai ethnic clothing as were all the other staff, apart from the young, English male waiter. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxed and after being shown to our table I had a look round at the pleasant surroundings. After ordering our drinks we perused the menu and for starters we ordered the mixed starters for two persons, which provided about six different choices on a small platter, including, spring rolls, chicken wings, prawns in batter etc., along with various dips. Very tasty and enjoyable. For mains, I selected something called a "Jungle curry". Although it was something i'd never had before I fancied something hot and spicy. My wife went for "Number 68" on the menu, (I can't pronounce the name), however the prawn dish was described as delicately flavoured. Between the four of us we ordered three types of rice, ( "sticky", Jasmine and egg fried). To be honest the "sticky" rice and jasmine rice weren't to our tastes as we found them a bit too heavy and we prefer our rice more fluffy, but the egg fried rice was very good and more suited to us. My main course was great, but wouldn't be recommended for the faint hearted. Although the menu informed me it was a spicy dish I was surprised at the intensity, which crept up on me like a Ninja warrior! That said the meal was very tasty and were I to visit the restaurant again i'd ask for it to be made a touch more mild. (I should mention here the staff say that any of the meals on the menu here can be adapted to your specific tastes). My wife's meal, by her own admission was excellent, and has converted her to being a Thai fan and on our return home to Bolton we shall be looking for a Thai restaurant that can offer the same high quality of service. I don't know what it was our friends ordered, other than to say, they too thoroughly enjoyed their repasts. The service throughout was excellent as was the whole experience, and The Pusanon is a place i'd highly recommend. The cost of the meal and drinks came to £77 for the four of us which I considered excellent value. The people of Crowborough should consider themselves lucky to have this little gem on their doorstep.

My second visit this year and this was even better than the last visit!Truly delicious, authentic food with a great choice for all palates. This visit was a Thursday evening and the place was buzzing, lovely atmosphere.

While the food is nice compared to some other Thai restaurants it is fair to middling. Nothing exciting about the food here ....but as the only Thai in Crowborough it is very popular. I have had beef dishes a few times and always found the beef on the chewy side.
