Worst meal we have had from here. Waited over 2 hours for delivery. Half was warm and no taste at all and hard prices of chicken. Onion bhaji was 3 shrivled up rounded thins in a paper bag which were just warm. Was told it was very busy and was rushed. Even if it's busy food should still be a good quality. Do disappointed. Last time I order from this restaurant!!

Best restaurant in the Highams park

I’ve had multiple takeaways from Purbani and they have never failed to disappoint in delivery service, flavour and portion size. Absolutely love their biriani’s. My favourite go to takeaway in HP hands down!

Perfect little restaurant in the heart of Highams Park. Clean!! Perfect for a romantic or family meal or even just with friends. Reasonable prices . Very impressed and I’ve eaten in many places around London.

We have been going to this restaurant for years and have never had a bad meal. The atmosphere is cheerful but not rowdy, the service attentive and the food good. Takeaways are also good.

We were badly let down by a restaurant via Just Eat, we had waited nearly three hours to be told they couln't delivery our order. We decided to call Purbani direct and see if they could get us some food quickly, I called, explained the problem, I ordered, they said it would be 45mins but would try to hurry. To my suprise there was a knock on the door around 15 minutes max 20 minutes and there was our purbani man with our food :D even batter the food was really tasty, hats off to Purbani!!

Always have a lovely meal at Purbani. I had chicken jalfrezi, sag aloo. My son chicken tikka masala, coconut rice. Keema Nan bread. All just £23 with free popadoms and dips given. Been going to Purbani since 1995. One of my favourite restaurants.

I NEVER write reviews but felt i needed to about this place, just had the most amazing meal here, the staff were all absolutely incredible and made us feel so welcome, lovely place, lovely food and great atmosphere will definitely visit again

Went yesterday with a couple of my friends and was very warmly greeted by our waiter Kukon who was very kind to give us meal recommendations and a warm welcome into Purbani Restaurant. The food did not take long to arrive and had the most tantalising aroma of Indian food I had ever had. I ordered the chicken tikka rizala, which was absolutely mouth-watering and the succulent chicken along with the many spices and sauces was something to adore. The peshwari naan was fluffier than a cloud and melted as soon as it touched my palate. I also spoke to the head chef, Abul, who was also a very kind and polite gentleman, saying how he perfected the meal, start to finish. Overall, the atmosphere was very lively, welcoming and relaxing. Everything was 10/10. If you want a brilliant Indian establishment who serve excellent food with an even better side of customer service, come to Purbani Restaurant!

A beautiful restaurant, very friendly staff and really excellent food and service.

We haven't been to the Purbani for quite sometime (although we get takeaways from there) so I was interested to see whether it had kept up its standards. Short answer, it has. The food and service was excellent. The lamb Bombay was very tasty with just the right of "heat" without making it unpleasant. The portions are reasonable but if you are very hungry you might consider a couple of sides to fill it out. What put the final touch on the meal was the price, which was a very reasonable £26/head so great value especially bearing in mind the quality of the food.

I am so very tired of watery, tasteless food. Yet another Indian that exists to please the "chicken tikka masala" brigade. Why doesn't anyone prepare their food with the meat rather than add it to a watery base gravey and chillie to add heat as required. Also, opposite..1 The Avenue are exactly the same...get a free half pint of lager and pompodoms and that seems to please the tikka masala brigade..not me..watery rubbish.

Lovely food, very friendly staff. Great atmosphere, quite busy when we went there this evening, but very enjoyable evening. Would thoroughly recommend the Purbani.

Great place for indish dishes. The staff is very Welcome and nice. The restaurant has a large amount of dishes to choose. We had roast chicken masala and chicken Tikka masala. The prices are reasonable.

Came here on a random night out, post work, absolutely fantastic food and hospitality was great, very friendly. Went for a lamb dish called north Indian special lamb... Easily on par with Dishoom if not better, lamb extremely tender with pilau rice. Have previously ordered for deliver not been as good, would highly recommend to eat in as much much better!

Incredibly rude, disrespectful, and unfriendly staff, and we both got upset stomachs after eating here. Poor quality food, thoroughly disappointed. We thought this was the Purbani in Wanstead, who are amazing and lovely people, but we accidentally ordered from here instead. Don't make our mistake, because you will regret it.

Takeaway ordered two hours ago. Was ready 1hour twenty minutes ago. Still not here. They are 1 mile away. . Excuse after excuse when we actually managed to get through on the phone. If you don’t have the drivers don’t take the order. Going to McDonalds, your driver can take the food back. Full refund NOW.

Very good Indian food served in a friendly atmosphere

Excellent restaurant. Quality of food was perfect. The reason I didn't give it 5 ✨ was because when we got the bill I saw that they charge £3.25 for a can of Coke. There is no need for that, it's extortionate and quite frankly insulting. Shame, because otherwise everything was perfect.

I have eaten in and had many take always from this restaurant. The food is excellent and very well cooked. If you want a great Indian meal, this is the place to go. I have had a take away which I collected this evening and it was as I expected.

Great food and has done for the last 30 years I’ve been there.

Went to this restaurant last week Monday for dinner with my fiancé and Mum. It was a lovely experience. The staff were so friendly and helpful. You could tell it was a family run business as I find they always go that extra mile to help out. The food was delicious! Tasted fresh, well seasoned and great flavours. We were all extremely happy and told them we will definitely be back. The whole meal including drinks only cost us about £25 a head which in my opinion is very reasonable.

Over the years we've had a few takeaways from this restaurant and although not outstanding it is usually good. However we ordered a takeaway last Friday evening and it was totally inedible, a complete waste of money, over £35. Apart from the rice, every dish we had ordered, including chicken & lamb tikka was swimming in oil and looked disgusting. The food clearly hadn't been freshly cooked and looked like it had been hanging around for ages! The two nan breads were thick and doughy more like a thick pizza base and were uncooked in the middle. We basically threw the whole lot in the bin! Wouldn't even give it one circle rating. So beware if you are ordering a takeaway from here, in case when you open it at home, you have been given a load of inedible food and ripped off!

I don’t normally leave reviews but I feel I have to on this occasion. I was craving an Indian but wanted really authentic freshly made food, as opposed to run of the mill curry houses that only have the usual tikka masala/madras/vindaloo etc. I stumbled across this place on Uber eats and I’m stunned. Absolutely gorgeous food. Super delicious, incredibly reasonable priced considering the quality, arrived bang on time, the gent that dropped the food off was lovely and friendly, to quote him ‘here’s your lovely jubbly food’ and my was it! Great find, everything that we ordered was outstanding. Completely different to any ‘Indian’ curry house that you’d normally order from. I will definitely be booking a table to dine in. I saw one or two reviews saying not to order from them as it takes too long etc - I’m a chef, I can tell you that sometimes things do go wrong. They could’ve been short staffed, incredibly busy etc etc, no reason to not order again because you caught them on a bad day. If you want a delicious authentic Indian meal, this is where you should get it from. Once again, great food!

I have been really disappointed with the last two takeaways I have had from here. I have lived in Hp for over 30 years and don’t know why the quality has gone so much as. Have been there loads!!

We have just had a meal at the Purbani restaurant in Highams Park with friends and the food was excellent. We've been going to the Purbani for many years now, but tonight we thought the food was exceptional. The staff are charming and lovely as always , we highly recommend this restaurant.

Very disappointed and dissatisfied. I am of punjab descent and ead and cook Asian dishes on a regular basis. The evening started with a very quick and friendly greeting at the door. Me and my partner entered, excited by the smells, ambience and general layout of the restaurant. We, as we always do, ordered 4 starters to split between us - onion bhaji, Shami Kebab, Chicken Tikka, and Aloo Chat. These dishes came out promptly following our drinks. Sadly, this is where things went downhill. The shami kebab was not what a shami kebab is supposed to be, the bhajis were small and refried, the aloo chat was bombay aloo - when checking with staff they confirmed it was aloo chat. Then the mains arrived. They were - chicken do piazza, and chicken noor jahan. The noor jahan was incredibly salty and the do piazza was salty and sweet. These dishes are traditionally supposed to be oniony, spicy and hints of bay leaf. None of this was present in the dishes. We also ordered a stuffed paratha. This was incredibly bland and actually was that same Shaana Paratha brand from a deep freezer aisle of tesco. We mentioned to the waiter after taking one spoonful of each meal, that we were unhappy with the meal. He said: 1. I was attempting not to pay because I'm Asian. 2. I filled up on starters 3. I was penalising the owner by asking not to pay for a meal I did not eat. 4. Everyone else likes the food, so what is my problem? I'm shocked and incredibly disappointed in this backwards, racist and disgusting behaviour from the server. I mentioned this to the front of house and he passed it off as a "miscommunication " and said why am I trying to penalise the owner? I explained I too am a business owner, and as such, I am responsible for the actions and behaviour of my staff. Just like him. In the end, they settled by not paying for the mains. But it left a negative and sour taste in my mouth. I won't be returning.

Staff were very attentive to start with. We enjoyed the dips and the poppadoms. Unfortunately the onion bhajis were very hard (perhaps re-fried) and very small but still enjoyable enough to eat. All starters seem to come with a side salad that is definitely not authentic.and does not add to the dishes. Olives ? Unfortunately the mains were a real let down. My dish was incredibly salty and as I am pregnant i am already quite sensitive. My partner's main was very sweet and upon asking they admitted that one part of the main meal was sold under a different name, admitting to misadvertising their food. (we also noticed this to be the case for one of the starters but let it go!) We had one bite of everything but none of which made us confident that a replacement meal would be to our liking. When we asked for it to be taken back as it was not enjoyable, we ended up having to deal with two different members of staff, one of whom became accusative and rude, and made assumptions about us simply not wanting to settle our main meals. His words were 'well i understand you had lots of starters so clearly you're not hungry for the mains.' as he was leaning down on the table towards my partner, one hand leaning on the table. Couldn't say this made us feel very welcome and we are unsure as to why we would have an incentive of buying food we were not going to have as we, as they kindly offered, can have the food wrapped up for the next day (which is what we usually do!). To top it off the restaurant staff had to calm down another visitor, who decided to intervene, as apparently her regularity of the restaurant was testament to superiority in taste, raising her voice above anyone in the restaurant. We ended with lessons from the business owners about how to run a business. We left feeling still hungry, unsatisfied by the food, accused.

Ordered through deliveries Saturday evening by 6.30 . No food arrived by 8.15 but update said already delivered. Restaurant phone going to voicemail. Unable to secure a refund!

Agree with all the reviews saying the delivery time is 2 hours +. The staff will blame the ordering app that they shouldn’t have said it would take less time. Staff also don’t seem to care about the delay.

I would be honest with you all, I cannot review the food vecause it has not arrived yet. I decided to review the longest waiting time ever for food delivery. After ordering the food they informed that there will be a delay, and I have to wait practically 2 hours to get my food delivery. This is an extremely bad service. I am starving and have to wait otherwise I have to pay for the food if I cancel the order in the app Just Eat. Really disappointing

We waited 3 hours for our takeaway!!!!!! We ordered and was informed that the wait was 40 minutes. It was NYE so we guessed it would take a little longer. 1 hour and 30 minutes later we were still waiting so we called Purbani and they said that there would still be a 40 minute wait. 2 hours and half we were still waiting!!!!!Called them again and they said it would defiantly be with us in 10 minutes. 3 hours later we finally got our food. NEVER ORDER A TAKE AWAY FROM HERE !!!!!!!!!! Shame as I have been going here for 30 years

Don't ever order from this restaurant if you want your food to arrive before 2hrs. Absolute shambles. They first complained that their system didn't work and the order didn't come through, and then they said that they were too busy and couldn't get it ready in time. And they're trying to run a business, wow! There are many other better Indian takeaways to choose from - I would steer away from this lot. Wish I can give them half a star.

Waited 2 hours for a takeaway and when it came the food was cold. The food was not nice at all flavourless and was inedible. £34 thrown in the bin. Avoid this place.

Very poor, was looking forward to a really nice Indian takeaway! I don't know what's happened since lock down but it seems every Indian has gone to pot.

Probably the worse curry I've had in a very very long time. Watery and tasteless madras..it should have a thick sauce with tomatoes and lots of flavour. It was basically a watery base gravy. If you like it then you don't know what a good curry is...and sadly this restaurant has gone the way of many...and that it to cater for the bland masses. The Nan bread was soggy. The whole thing was rubbish and I will not go back.

2 hours for food to be delivered. On arrival food was cold and the Nann bread was cold. The Nann bread didn’t even look to be fresh looked like was taken out of the freezer to defrost. Also refusing to refund! Will never order a takeaway again from there and will never eat in the restaurant again or recommend!

Don’t order a takeaway from here. Food took over 2 hours to arrive and was cold when it did turn up. When we first called to ask where the order was the guy was rude and just said it was on its way. When we tried to call back no one answered for over an hour.

The food in this resturant is lovely so 4 stars but they need a waiter to serve seated guest they need to update the opening times for sunday as it is misleading 5pm on website 5.30 on arrival, mybe do not leave food outside entrance to the toilet on the floor to refill the dips. Just organize your restaurant and iam sure you will be busy good luck

Ordered 3 items on Ubereats. Initially was told arrival time was 1940-2000. Called the restaurant at 1945 for an update, was told it would arrive at 2010. Called again at 20.25 - the restaurant gave a further update of 10 more minutes and did not even know where the driver was. Extremely rude staff who slammed the phone down on me. Order was incomplete and extremely rude staff.
