Came across this on Tripadvisor otherwise would never have heard of it. The views from the car park and outside seating area are excellent. Inside seating is only small so take care when the weather is bad but it’s well worth a visit. The food is really good and the cakes and scones are an absolute delight. Staff very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for something a little different in the area seek out this delight.

After spending time at Chirk Castle, we were in need of tea, so consulted tripadvisor for nearby tea rooms. Prospect Garden Tea Rooms was highly recommended, so we sought it out. An interesting twisty route but what a joy when we found it! The views are spectacular and so is the food. We chose walnut scones, which were delicious. We also could see the choices of other customers were varied, and clearly enjoyed. I regret not asking for a portion of whimberry pie to take home.

We visit here a few times a year. Cakes are homemade and they offer all sorts for different palates and diets.I'm fairly sure all other food is also freshly prepared and cooked on the premises. We've never had any reason to complain, food has always been top notch and dogs are welcome outside. The only downsides to this tea room are that they don't accept card and a quick tea for two can be quite expensive. The nearest cashpoint is probably Llangollen, which is a good 5-10 minute drive. You always need to make sure you have enough cash - for four of us we need at least £50.Also, the inside seating area is so small, not many diners can fit inside, so going on a nice day when you can sit outside is probably your best idea, as it's always quite busy. The above points have no bearing on the quality of the food though, I had the cheese scones dish on this visit and it didn't disappoint. It was simply delicious. We will continue to frequent this venue as it's a family favourite, well worth a visit.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Myself and my friends went for afternoon tea here yesterday. It was £12.50 per person and well worth the money. My friends had tea and I had coffee (which was constantly refreshed when needed). The food (which was ham sandwiches, egg sandwiches and a variety of cakes)were all freshly home made and melted in your mouth.I can honestly say Ive never had nicer scones or carrot cake anywhere else.We also had a two bowls of home made jam (one damson, one strawberry)and a bowl of freshly whipped cream. The crockery the food came on was beautiful china and added to the experience. When we too full to eat any more the ones of the ladies who worked there very kindly wrapped up what was left to take home. All the staff who work there are very nice and genuinely pleasant and have the right balance of being close if you need anything but not in your face. The conservatory where you eat is cosy and has pretty decor. The garden (where you can also eat if the weather is nice enough) is beautiful and immaculately kept and has stunning views. We will definitely be going back to try more treats.

First of all check when it's open because its only open in the summer months.Anyway, whether you are walking or cycling it is well worth the journey to the tea rooms. The view is special, looking out to Jodrell Bank and Blackpool Tower and you can eat inside or on the tables on the lawns. The food is freshly prepared and delicious. Nothing fancy just a nice meal, peaceful and good value. Its clean and tidy and has plenty of car parking.Give it a try.

I recently visited the Prospect as part of a long distance ride with my cycling club. The only terrible thing about this place is the climb up to it from Wrexham. Long and laborious and then a nasty climb up the windy drive to the tea room proper. Great place, very nice food and friendly staff plus beautiful views to boot. I ordered the cream tea which was slightly disappointing as there was a lack of Jam however it still tasted great.

Way off the beaten track this tea room is well worth finding. Fantastic views and food at very reasonable prices. Can recommend the scones!! Will go again when next in area but gather it closes in September and re-opens March time.

Lovely setting and fine views. Very neat and clean, reasonably priced. Worth a visit.Only down side was the person who served me. Owner? I started to give her my order and she turned away and ignored me in order to chat to her friends who were behind me in the queue. That was simply rude.

As keen cyclists living in the area we regularly visit for lunch, breakfast or just a drink sometimes. The location is stunning, and the food well prepared and homely. The lady who runs it always goes out of her way too be helpful, as do the rest of the staff. The Panorama above Llangollen is a 5 minute walk away offering remarkable views of the vale of Llangollen.

I highly recommend this tea room on a warm day. We sat outside the tea room today , listening to the birds singing and admiring the spectacular view. The sandwiches and coffee were also excellent and the service second to none.To top everything we also heard a cuckoo. We shall be returning to the Prospect Gsrden regularly over the summer months.

Yet again, there are no more superlatives. Lucy, Coral, Amy, Jane and John are just like wow. Food always superb. My wife and I been coming here for 3 years and never found fault.

We ordered our meal and when it came it was luke warm The vegetables were not cooked enough and as for the lamb it was so tough I could not chew it. The dessert was quite nice. I have been to this restuarant previously since the refurbishment and have to say it has not improved ! I was hoping they had made an effort and made changes but alas it was still sadly lacking in the food department. Such a shame as really like the plassey and it''s surroundings and have been going there for over 15 years.
