En esta ocasión fui a la cocina de JP en la noche de curry de prisioneros de guerra y tuve una comida maravillosa. Tan sabroso y el mejor bajis de cebolla que he probado. La carne estaba tan tierna, el arroz ligero lleno de sabor. Gran chef en el mejor pub, ¿qué más se puede pedir?

The food is fantastic. A I highly recommended the ploughmans it's amazing. I have had 2 this week. The food that comes out for people looks yummy. You need to try it🙂

Met up here tonight. It’s always a friendly place but haven’t eaten here for ages. I’ve just had the best pie, the sides were amazing and the meal was incredible!!! Highly recommended!

We came here yesterday afternoon and decided to stay for the night amazing staff and so friendly the best in Brighton, we are already back to order the super Sunday roast, I will follow up the review afterwards...

It could just be any town or city anywhere really, another night over, another anonymous hotel room but on a tour around I found this place, warm, welcoming , friendly with plenty of interesting characters, the landlord goes out of his way to make sure people are made welcome as do the staff. Great quiz with great banter. I could quite happily travel here to have a couple from some distance away. Brighton is a fun town and this place is a bit more fun, lots of modern gloomy buildings about this area, this is the oasis, thanks guys.

No he estado aquí por unos años, y el personal es amable. Hace muchos años, solían tener un reloj de cliente en máquinas por diversión, y lo recordé cuando visitamos por última vez. Estábamos hablando con el gerente sobre esto y él nos contaba la diversión que tuvieron con él. Este pub es pequeño pero gente muy amable allí. Puedes sentarte afuera y hay una escotilla de servicio desde afuera directamente al bar. Está ubicado a las afueras del centro comercial, así que tómate una copa.

Great little pub right next to the Churchill shopping centre. Small but welcoming, the loos are down some fairly steep stairs but after an hour in the shops its a haven worth a visit.

Popped in for a few on a hot saturday afternoon. Great friendly service, very nice summer ipa and an amazing pink gin. Service couldnt be faulted - will visit again on my next trip to Brighton

Siempre es un placer visitar este pub después de largas horas de compras y el personal es amable. Está apretado y lleno de gente dentro, pero afuera es un lugar mejor para disfrutar de una bebida o dos. Por el valor agregado, tiendes a sentir hambre cuando percibes el olor de las agradables hamburguesas y hot dogs del puesto de arriba.

Bad reception, bad food, very rude owners. Do yourself a favor and avoid this disgraceful pub. Was there with friends and got the most unwelcoming reception from the owners. Would never return.

We visted this great pub on a hot summers day in heaving Brighton. Inside was lovely and cool and there was a nice table to sit at. The beer was great and the two pannini my wife and I ordered were also very good. Proper ham off the bone and very tasty cheese. Would recommend.

Such a friendly pub popped in ! To see England v Sweden. Obviously happy to win football but such a lovely bunch of people & bar staff were fantastic food pretty good too definitely worth a visit for a friendly chat

Please avoid this pub. Staff were unbelievably rude, no atmosphere. Only place in Brighton that is half empty and for a reason. Pubs like this have no place in Brighton these days.

Booked the karaoke room ( Its not a room but an area downstairs next to the toilet) but for £10 you cannot go wrong, Excellent sound and choice of songs then made our way upstairs to the pub where we were met with friendly staff, great drinks and a brilliant disco with open karaoke. We did not stop laughing and dancing.

We popped into the pub for a pint and saw the size of the dinners being served so came back for Sunday lunch. Plates of food was in abundance and tasted amazing! friendly staff behind the bar too.

Saw the 'Adult Creche' sign above the door and so popped in for a couple of beers whilst wife went shopping.

The wives were shopping so me and a mate called in for a quick beer or 4, great spot and very friendly staff. Lovely to sit outside when the sun shines. They serve sandwiches, baked potatoes etc.

We popped in the watch the lunchtime match. The pub was busy but we grabbed a table with a view of the football. The beer was good and average price for Brighton. We didn't eat but the food that came out to other tables looked great. The portions seemed large and most plates were cleared. Will go back to try the stuffed burgers.

We stoped for lunch and were not disapointed. We had a jacket potato and a burger and the food was very tasty, portions were more than generous and price was very reasonable. A big shout out to the staff as they were friendly and helpful.

Always busy. Very cheap. Service is quick. Staff are friendly. Needs a bit of an update and tables can be a bit sticky but I like it here.

Visited Brighton for the weekend with friends. I just wanted to write this review and thank the owner and his staff for a fantastic welcoming. We watched all the football which was on skysports over the weekend. We purchased the ‘Orbit’ 7 pints of kronenbourg...

Wonderful pub! The staff was extra friendly and the patrons quite jolly! Prices were very reasonable. We stopped in as we were walking by and it was karaoke night. We had a very good time. The pub was filled with folks of all age groups....

Stopped and had sunday lunch before having a wander round the shops. Very nice and tasty, beef melted in the mouth. Made to feel incredibly welcome and everyone was really friendly!

Pub tradicional bonito, bonito detalle de un cubo de hielo en miniatura por una pequeña botella de Prosecco. Un toque agradable. Cerca de las tiendas y la otra mitad se puede ver el rugby. A todo el mundo contento.

As the heavens opened and the gales started blowing , it was time to find a refuge where one could sit down, have a drink and dry off until there was calm again. Though the weather decided not to give up meaning staying longer in this friendly, atmospheric family run pub. It was an even greater surprise that a band would be playing that evening which frankly were very talented indeed !! Lead singer Rachel had an addictive personality and smile and velvet vocals , accompanied by Jim who also had an incredible voice ... the whole band had a great vibe and that kept me there until the very end!! What a fabulous and unexpected evening. A good mix of customers and super friendly staff... couldn't recommend morehighly !!

We were visiting Brighton from Austria and fell upon this pub on our first very tiring day after travelling. IIt was small and so friendly. Everyone was friendly with one another and everyone seemed to know the landlord. It was karaoke evening and everyone had a go (except us). The atmosphere was great. Although we were tired, we liked it so much we stayed until the end. The landlord then spoke to us and told us that there would be a private party the following evening and that we were welcome to come. We didn't want to intrude and we had a busy day shopping! However, this great little pub will be our first stop on a next trip to Brighton. I am English and now living in Austria and this was exactly what I needed - traditional English pub, people, entertainment, and hospitality.

Decided to have one for the road here as it was right next to the bus stop..... walked into their karaoke night and ended up staying longer than planned as everyone was having so much fun, great entertainment value. I've always thought this looked like an old man's pub, I now know that it most definitely isn't!! Missed the bus, and the next one....

Staff very friendly, great atmosphere, food was gorgeous and great vfm, AND Spitfire Gold on tap!! What more could you ask for??

We visited the PoW and rented their Karaoke room in the basement. And it was great! We were a group of 12 guys and were made very welcome by the landlord and locals. They really looked after us and we couldn't be more happy. Much much cheaper than a local Karaoke bar. Ideal for a stag group that want to knock out some songs. Thanks!

The Prince of Wales - Shepherd Neame is a pub located in the city center, next to the bus stop. Decoration is classical, nothing metal or cyber feel. It suits a group of people drowning in live music (not loud to break your ear drum), talking with folks nearby, tasting the essence of beer, enjoying typical English snack or English meal, and not to mention watching live football matches. If you still find the atmosphere not good enough to concentrate on watching football, there are rooms downstairs for you to use. The boss is kind and considerate and always asks your preference to stay or go downstairs. Atmosphere at night is good when there is live music accompanying your beer or food. Do not expect stars to show up at the stage. The performers are music lovers and have been cultivated in music. Food is freshly prepared so take your patience. To a traveler, a safe pub is as important as her charm. I enjoy the sense of security as well as her well-beings in drink, food and atmosphere.

I visited this venue for Sunday lunch, and hosts were very friendly upon arrival and made me very welcome. When my roast beef dinner arrived, I could not believe the portion size, and I was definitely beaten on this occasion. The food was excellent, and I will look forward to visiting this pub again in the future.

We love coming here when we take the train in to Brighton. The staff are always friendly and the beer is always great.Being the pub is quite small your only issues sometimes is getting a table. We tend to plan our visit when we know there will be some available.

Stopped here for a drink and some lunch with a friend as we were visiting the city for the day. The lady behind the bar was very friendly and our lunch was surprisingly good and nicely presented. The décor/furnishings and atmosphere in the place left a lot to be desired though, well worn doesn't even begin to describe it. It didn't seem very clean generally, particularly the toilet. Given it's extremely central location, right next to Churchill Square shopping centre, this place could be amazing, although it is very small. On a Thursday lunchtime though, it was pretty quiet in an otherwise extremely busy area. I guess that says it all really.

My friends and I got the worst treatment in this pub. We heard about the place through trip advisor and we have it a shot, as we got in the euro game was playing on the TV. We were 5 people and only two of us ordered drinks, the manager came to us saying "if you aren't ordering anything else get out", we were shocked but insisted on staying, we were there for about 20 minutes and through the whole time the manager was acting very rude and so were the locals. As we were about to leave they started yelling at us and swearing, finished by the manager running after us outside and 'kicking us out' yelling "never come back here!", obviously with that kind of treatment I would never want to come back regardless his comment.

Staying locally on a drizzly Monday night, we ventured out to find a reasonably close non city centre pub. This was our first stop, which had a very traditional interior, pictures all over the wall, and a fairly eclectic set of probably regulars waiting for the Monday night karaoke. A fairly typical menu was available and great news they served Thatchers, We escaped before the Karaoke started, they appear to do live music on Thursdays which might be more interesting, but a safe bet

If you want a pint ( or two) in a lovely snug pub, a great plateful of fabulously tantalising food all at affordable prices, look no further! A great find in an otherwise busy Brighton. The staff are very friendly and 'service with a smile' is in great evidence here.Don't miss out on this pub. We are glad we found it.

Not eaten here, but it's a cracking place to sink a few jars on a night out. There's not a wide array of draft beers to choose from because the bar is so small, so lager drinkers will need to get used to "Oranjeboom" (that I am yet to see served anywhere else in the UK). You can normally find somewhere to sit (inside or out) and the place has a good vibe with regular singers or karaoke on. I do like this place

Highly recommend this venue for food. We had Roast Lamb on Sunday. Meat was so tender and was pleased with the selection of vegetables, different to the normal selection. Very impressed with the rather large Yorkshire pudding, an achievement if you finish it. Welcoming service and will return on next trip.

A lovely little pub, just outside the shopping centre. We had lunch outside and thoroughly enjoyed it. There is a great ambience and the food was tasty.

This pub is small, and we called in here for lunch, we sat outside and watched the world go by for a bit. I had the chicken fajita salad, which was amazing, and I don't often say that about a salad!!!! Really nice quick lunch, for not bad money. There are loads of options to choose from, totally spoilt for choice here!!!!!

Found this pub by chance a few weeks ago and took friends back there on this trip to Brighton. For a Monday night, god it was a laugh. Karaoke and play your cards right!! Made to feel very welcome by staff and locals. Will be going back :-)

A small but perfectly formed pub. Friendly staff, excellent food and service. We've been twice now, and the menu has a wide choice, food is well presented and there's very good value for money. A popular choice for Saturday football! The only thing to watch for is the step as you go through the door!!!

We were looking for somewhere close to the Brighton Centre where we were attending a concert ans almost walked straight past this pub , but was very glad we didnt. It is small and I would imagine it can get quite crowded , but we managed to get a table a 6PM on a Friday night. Service was very warm and the food was wonderful , some of the best pub food we have had for a long time. Proper home-cooked fare and very large portions. Its a Shepherd Neame pub so beer was also good. And all at very reasonable prices. Got distinct impression they get quite a few regulars and I'm not surprised. We are occasional visitors to Brighton and will certainly make a note of this place. Assuming you can get in - it had filled up by the time we left - I would say its well worth a visit , but may not suit if you have young children , mainly due to the lack of room.

Ligger like ved inngangen til byens store kjøpesenter, men bærer ikke preg av det. Liten pub. Hyggelig betjening og godt øl. God stemning. Behagelig bakgrunnsmusikk. De serverer og god "hjemmelaget" mat. Litt ventetid. Her brukes ikke microbølgeovn. Fredager er fiskedag. Rause og velsmakende porsjoner. Rimelig. Bratt trapp ned til toalettene. Her er og et fantastisk rom for japansk underholdning,- med parykk.

We ate at lunchtime, the pub was busy but the food was served fresh, fast and fabulous. Best ever club sandwich, mum had fish and chips. The chips were excellent, clearly cooked in fresh fat for the exact amount of time. Could nit fault. Great atmosphere. One improvement - lose the sachets

We been in yesterday for the first time walked in at 1130am and walked out 745pm..Staff is brilliant..met some lovely people and we definitely will be back in the next time we in Brighton! The beer was fabulous! And the effort the Staff done for getting me veg down for my Pimms ...we will be back! Food looked fab ..didn't had anything to eat but the next time!

A tiny, traditional boozer, good atmosphere and regular live music and/or karaoke. Not eaten here, we tend to go here for drinks of an evening as it has such a good vibe. If you are a lager drinker check out the exotic sounding 'Oranjeboom' - there is no Carling here!

Wow this little pub has such an atmosphere and the food is to die for. This pub is a regular pit stop for my partner while I go off shopping ..... Today we had the gorgeous big and mighty roast, took me nearly an hour to eat it, the food never ceases to amaze us

We nipped into this pub, which is adjacent to the Churchill Square shopping centre/mall. The pub is very small and compact, though it looks bigger from the outside.There is seating outside which is ideal on a warm sunny day.Ordered our drinks and some pub meals from the menu. The food was very good in deed and excellent value.The only drawback is that the toilet facilities are in the basement, so you have to use the stairs, which is awkward if you have disabilities. Other than the toilet issue we found it a friendly place with great food and will visit again.

we were in brighton for the day over easter from london and found this bar the prince of wales,it was a sunny day and people were seating outside listening to rapper music,inside was cool and the drinks good and the staff friendly well worth a visit.

Walked in with a group of friends to get a drink & check out pub! Couple of my friends needed to used the bathroom - minutes into our visit we found ourselves being verbally abused & publicly humiliated as the pub owner yelled at us across the bar making a scene all because we used the bathroom before purchasing a drink even though he didn't even give us a chance to purchase a drink before blowing up at us! We felt very unwelcome & decided to leave as we were leaving the pub the owner then followed us outside & continued to give us a mouthful - definitely not the way to treat customers - Very uninviting pub! We will not be returning EVER!

What a great find! A warm welcome from the very friendly staff. Great atmosphere typical of the old fashioned pub where you went to eat a fabulously tasty meal with a good pint of 'the best' . What started out to be a few drinks turned into an all nighter, leaving for our hotel when the roads were quiet!Definitely looking forward to a return visit in December.

Weekend in Brighton this bar just up from our hotel.went in on Saturday evening,place looked terrible,and seemed to be half full ,tables dirty and very uninviting.walked past on a number of occasions,over the weekend and seemed to be the same

The food was beyond expectation. The portions are huge and everything was cooked to perfection. Also the atmosphere is so nice. Just go in and enjoy.

My boyfriend and I visited on a weekday evening just to grab a late bite to eat. We were very warmly welcomed and had a great chilli nacho dish to share, it was huge and very reasonably priced! We ended up staying to watch the football (my boyfriend!) and to enjoy the open mic night that was on, great local talent. Would really recommend it here.

Went to this tiny local pub for dinner our first day in Brighton. Were greeted by the friendly owner/barkeep who had been chatting with a group of regulars seated at the bar. My husband had the fish and chips and I had a warm lamb baggette. The food was very good and not expensive. With a pint and a glass of wine the total for two was just under twenty pounds. Got a lesson on English pronunciations from the bar keeper while chatting with him. If you are shopping in the Surrounding area, this would be a great place for lunch

the pow is the best pub in brighton always get a good feeling about the place. the food is good too but i do go for the roasts they are yum yum:-). you can go in there not in a good mood time you go out your laughing :-). SO The pub to go to is THE PRINCE OF WALES. GIVE IT A GO Xx

Petit pub traditionnel, cela est appréciable! l'accueil n'a pas ete a la hauteur! pas un bonjour de la personne ki a débasser la tabla! par contre la serveuse au bar etait aimable! pas franchement d'ambiance! pas trop de choix de boissons! bref pas nul mais pas terrible.

I just love the POW, always feeling comfortable going in as a single woman. The atmosphere and staff are inviting and friendly making everyone welcome. Tels kitchen is the cherry on a wonderful cake. Everything I have ordered has been delicious, so attractive in presentation and amazing in taste. He caters for every palate and always serves up a delight for all your senses, even your sense of humour.

I've always been a fan of this cosy little pub, it's a great place to meet for a drink after working or shopping. The staff are so friendly and always make you feel welcome. The food is well cooked and great value for money. Make a visit if you are coming down to Brighton, you won't be sorry!

Have been visiting here for several years whenever in Brighton. An old fashioned pub atmosphere, and none the worse for it, quite small, but you can sit outside in good weather. Feels like a typical well run local, though everyone is made welcome. Pub food is of a good standard and value for money. Not my tipple but "Gold Label" is available, quite a rarity these days and a favourite of my brothers who is something of a devotee and who introduced me to this pub. I prefer the Shepeard Neame on offer. Note: toilets are down stairs which might be a bit of a problem for some folk. Also, perhaps not really ideal for a family group. But for a couple of proper drinks and conversation in relaxing surroundings and perhaps a spot of lunch it ticks the boxes. We always make a point of calling in when down on the coast here and are never disappointed.

I've been here a few times whilst working in Brighton and it's a really friendly place for a stranger to visit - the management, staff and locals are all welcoming if you want it and happy to leave you alone if you don't.Great music and events on offer, clean glasses, quality ales and lagers, a great selection of spirits, good food and always clean toilets. Prices are very reasonable for the area too - a must visit pub if you are in town.

Good but not bad charesteric observation of the visitors comparable to the Indian nature fo find plus and Minus in each and every interior action and submitted during stay.

I stopped here for lunch after shopping. It is clean, friendly and displays the times of all buses. I was so impressed that I went back after more shopping and the service again was superb. A real gem of a pub. I will be back when I next go to Brighton shopping.

I have been using this pub for several years and tell you all that it is arguably the best pub in Brighton. Family run with excellent staff. I travel to Brighton several times a year from north-west London and would not miss spending a couple of hours at the POW. The landlord and staff treat me (and all the customers) almost as family. Real ale always on tap, Shepherd Neame and occasionally a guest always kept in perfect condition. Food is limited to a lunchtime menu and is great value.

If you're in Brighton and you've been to Churchill Square you have to have a pint in the Prince of Wales. Fantstic, welcoming atmosphere. And the best bit..............they've got an electronic bus time table behind the bar so you don't have to sit outside waiting for a bus. How civilised is that a pint while you wait for the bus. Brilliant.
