Amazing food and service! Wanted to thank our lovely server Geza, who ensured we were well received and felt welcomed despite coming in at almost 10pm! Managed to get a large order in and had a wonderful time.

Nice looking place with good service but the food was disappointing. The scotch egg was nice but seemed to be over done with the outside pretty hard. The steak was just served on a plate on its own with chips on the side. Not sure what I was expecting but this wasn’t it. The steak wasn’t great either. All in, lunch for two with starters plus one chicken main and one steak main was just over £100. Will be sticking to Miller and Carter for steak in the future.

The best steakhouse in the area. The steaks melt in your mouth, tender, full of flavour... The service is a credit of a spotless service. Great place to go and have an awesome time enjoying great goods.

We were running 30 mins late and even though we only had 90 mins left on the table, we were not rushed and they let us stay until they needed the table and then found space for us in the bar, even though it was very busy. They made my daughter feel very special for her birthday and overall the food and service was very good.

Was there for a wedding anniversary lunch most recently. The food was excellent, we had the beef roast and the wagyu beef burger. My daughter had the chicken roast. The food was excellent. Service was great as well, the staff is incredibly personable and they go out of their way to make you comfortable. Keep it up Prime Steak! We will be back

Chateaubriand was butterflied and overcooked we asked for medium , The sirloin was a poor cut and the wagyu burger was average , The kids meals were the best out of all at a good size and the fillet steak was good quality. The sides were flavourless tbh and would expect more from this place. Staff were friendly and helpful restaurant is beautiful , Food was not bad but left us feeling a bit meh. Would expect more from supposed Premium quality restaurant.

I reached out on the day of when they showed no reservation available, but the made room for us and I'm so grateful! The food was absolutely incredible and the service was amazing. Our family has agreed to dinner here to our annual family tradition so we look forward to more dinners in the future!

Reliably good steak with attentive and friendly service

Really lovely local spot. Steak and sides were amazing, cooked really well. We got served a cheese scone appetiser with butter which was a bit dry. We ordered the scallop and prawn starters both were good but the prawns in particular were delicious. The scallops were cooked well but dish just felt a little flat. The mains were a rump fillet and it was perfect.

I would give 10 stars for the atmosphere and staff if I could. I have not enjoyed any of the outside central London restaurants as much for a very long time.

What an incredible place to visit, was introduced to me by a friend as he said it was the best steak around! Couldn't be further from the truth - surprisingly I was enticed for a starter and desert too which is unlike me! Very grateful for the kind and lovely staff 🙌

This place is lovely and very intimate. The Food was amazing. The service even better, very attentive, calm and well mannered staff. I was served by Shehab, he was very professional and considerate. As it was special occasion, they were so kind in offering a complementary drinks and desert. I recommend this place for a nice evening. I will be returning here.

Good steak, lovely setting. Has outdoor terrace as well.

First time here , smooth welcome , outstanding building , very steak house feel. Packed during the week too. Food was great, the chateau brand was the highest recommended steak there , my friend loved it but for me I prefer more fat , .skinny chips with truffle were one of the best I’ve ever had . Tuna tar tare was great too. Good mix of cucumber in there. This place is isn’t cheap obviously online with its excellent interior and fast service . You can expect to pay at least £60 per person . I don’t want to forget the peacan pie 🤤. Only 1 negative I would say is the salmon starter that has caviar on it , the salmon peice is way to salty for human liking , we sent it back and the chef said ‘that’s how they make it ‘ , not a good response to a dish that . Over all recommended

Been many times before and had another great meal this time for our anniversary. I wouldn't normally write a review but the exceptional service we received from Shahab definitely warranted a special mention! probably the best service i have had in any establishment!

We made a booking for NYE at 7:00pm (a time that does not require a per person deposit), PRIME took our bank account info which is okay we completely understand their policy for ‘no shows’ and why they do this. However, they proceeded to take £100 out of our account for no reason whatsoever. We have called them and they told us we will have to wait five working days to get our money back. NOT COOL. We understand that their system could have broke so we offered to drive in and get our money back in cash and they told us we couldn’t and have to wait until the end of the week. With the price hikes and the current cost of living crisis, people simply cannot afford to be having money taken from their account for no reason whatsoever and then told they can’t have it back and it’s on the restaurants terms. We were offered a ‘complimentary’ free drink but as a manager and owner of a business myself, this offer is not good enough. What if this had happened to someone who was on the breadline? Especially this close to Christmas? Do yourself a favour everyone, and get to Miller & Carter instead, never had a problem there.

My wife and I were invited to lunch here with my son and daughter-in-law. It is a little off the beaten track and the carpark is not obvious depending on which way you come. The restaurant itself is lovely. The staff were excellent, attentive without being oppressive. We ate from the lunchtime menu. For starters we chose the squid rings, aubergine and chicken wings. All came beautifully cooked, well presented, hot and tasty. For mains we had the house pie, steak, wagyu burger and the tuna. Again the food came beautifully cooked and presented, hot and tasty. The burger, pie and steak were all cooked to perfection. My wife wanted the tuna cooked rather than seared, which was done, but the tuna was still soft to eat. An excellent meal at a great venue. It's worth finding this hidden gem.

Went here on Thursday, 26th October 2023, after doing an assessment as it was the only place I saw on the way into the job I was doing. We got a table for 3 of us. Got a nice welcome. We got our menus. The only problem for me was that the lighting could have been a bit brighter for seeing the menu. Everything was good starteres and mains. My partner had treacle pudding and ice cream, but the treacle pudding was as cold as the ice cream. This was taken off our bill at the end. Be careful as their is a 12.5 % discretionary service charge added to your bill.

Wow this place is absolutely amazing Inside and out its very cosy, The food is 5 stars 🌟 Service is great! If ever you are in the area pop in you won't be disappointed. I would advise booking as it is very popular and always busy, you might wait an hour for a table 😉

Such a delicious meal. We went on a Monday night and took our own wine. Makes it affordable for a weekday night out. If you’re looking for a quiet table ask to go upstairs and in a booth if possible. We shared a starter of scotch egg that was amazing, the. Steak of course and then shared a creme brûlée. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive.

Don’t bother going anywhere else if you want to eat steak! This place is phenomenal. Starters and desserts are also very good too. And their cocktails! Omg! Raspberry mule I think is just out of his world. Staff are very friendly and attentive.

Always have an excellent meal here 😋 service is always good. The starters and sides are delicious, as was the chateaubriand (washed down with a bottle of malbec.) Always clean, always friendly staff. Their converts of scone with horseradish are great!

Absolutely lovely meal, Sunday Roast. The beef was exceptional. Very attentive staff and although it's in the higher price range it was definitely worth it! Beautiful decor and great seating area outside too.

This is our 'go to' for fuss free eating with wonderful staff. In all the times we have eaten there the steaks have been succulent. You can't compare this to Millar & Carter or Cote this is in a different class altogether.

Came here for a celebratory lunch and only mentioned it in passing but the staff went above and beyond with everything for us. Frequented this particular prime quite a few times and is our fave out all of all them that we have visited for either brunch with the boys/girls to dinner with the mrs and family. Thankyou. Very good meal, steak was cooked to perfection.. All the extras that accompany a meal are add ons,which soon adds up in price. Due to the lovely British weather it was very hot and sticky. Could do with some air conditioning to make it more comfortable and not having to rushing to get out. Overall and average night out but it’s expensive for what you get now.

You get what you pay for! Expensive, but worth it. The quality of the food is amazing. Staff are fantastic too. There is a car park but on a Friday night it was busy. If you live local I’d advise a taxi as I’m not sure where you’d park if you can’t get a space. It’s on a country road bend so no where outside would be suitable to park.

Excellent, it was our 1st year wedding anniversary and Prime steak and grill delivered, very impressed. The food was worth every bit of the money spent, the steak was lovely, the truffle chips amazing our little man had the mac and cheese he loved it. The service was top notch, cant fault it at all. 5 stars all the way

Just been for lunch with my family of four (two children of 15 and 16) and had a wonderful lunch. Food was superb and overall ambience and service were great too. We went on a weekday for lunch, which is a bit cheaper, and I thought the food was reasonable value for what we paid. It tasted superb and portion sizes were good - not small, but also not so large that you feel like you may be wasting food. Highly recommended. First time there but plan on another visit just me and my wife soon!

This is the second time we have eaten here in the last three months . Similar report , very good indeed . Food great , service ( Ella) excellent . We had the hot Camembert to start , others the Burrata and the tuna . For a main course we all chose the filet steak . A nice bottle of wine to help it along . A perfect meal . Well done the team. Hope the soon to be opened Berkhamstead Prime will be as good

Went on a Sunday lunch time for a roast dinner for my birthday with the family. Beef was beautiful and tender, just delicious. My daughter who is a vegetarian had a pasta dish which she said was lovely. Cocktails were great. The staff are really nice and very attentive.

Best resturant in Hertfordshire, the Tuna tartar is to die for, my husband really enjoyed the Fillet Steak...Great atmosphere always busy and buzzing...Would definitely recommend

Food here is good but very pricey, disappointing seating though! We were seated 2 feet away on a table with another couple even the waiter only just fitted between the table to serve us and the lady even passed comment that his backside was very close to knocking over her wine 🤦🏼‍♀️ it was very uncomfortable in a closed area so we couldn’t enjoy a special birthday dinner as we could hear the conversation of the other couple the whole time, we also chose not to let the restaurant know of the birthday as I’m aware they do sing to you if it’s your birthday but it felt a little to embarrassing sitting so close to strangers, a restaurant charging these prices should make sure tables are separate so a comfortable dinner can be enjoyed!

Tried this for a change of venue and was very impressed. The menu is excellent as is the quality of the food. The wine and drinks list are excellent too. The deserts looked amazing although I did not have one. Overall excellent and will be back!

We were taken here by some friends and I must say the visual appeal of the place is awesome. Inside the atmosphere is great with attentive staff. We stayed a bit later than closing as we eat slow, they were very kind and did not rush us. Needless to say the food was great, with the portion sizes that you want!

Went for my sons 21st birthday. We used to love this place. Seems like management have changed. The menu used to be more interesting and varied.. I am recovering from knee surgery. So sat at the end of the table to keep out of the way. The waitress kicked my foot every time she came to the table which wasn’t easy to do. I eventually moved. Most of the party had steak which was good. I had prawns and fish neither were good. Service was average. We had a nice time with food cocktails and fizz but for the price it wasn’t worth it.

Unfortunately our rump steaks were tough making it hard to cut and chew. Very noisy.

Brilliant evening, after a pre dinner drink out side we had a Chateaubriand with a Malbec that was recommended by the sommelier - superb!! Service was attentive but not intrusive.

We came here to celebrate a birthday dinner, and it turned out to be an absolutely fantastic experience. The parking was convenient, and the ambiance was lively yet not overly noisy. Following a recommendation, we opted for the Tawmahawk steak cooked to medium. While it was perfectly prepared to a medium level, personally, I would have preferred it cooked to medium rare as it was a bit too chewy for my taste. I would also highly recommend trying the Mac and cheese – it was truly delightful! On Summer weekdays, they generously offer a complimentary bottle of wine when you order two steaks. Our visit fell on a Tuesday, adding to the overall enjoyment. Our server demonstrated a high level of professionalism and kindness, enhancing the dining experience. The birthday dessert, Passion fruit sorbet, was exceptionally delightful. I'm already looking forward to returning, especially for another serving of this incredible sorbet :)

Celebrated here my friend's birthday, we had a brilliant evening. The location is amazing and the service is excellent, we have been served by an Italian gentleman who suggested two lovely wines. Food was great and met our expectations. We have heard a lot of really good comments in the last few weeks and decided to try this restaurant. We definitely recommend it and we will be back soon.

Disappointing! Poor menu, badly executed. Over familiar staff. If you don’t have anyone to eat out with then this is your place. If you are not fond of the staff joining you for your meal then avoid! Over fussy food - too smoked, too much...
