Prezzo in South Derbyshire

First time visiting prezzo and served by Polly, absolute a credit to the restaurant. She was amazing as well as the food ! Definitely would return

Been here a couple times, loved both experiences. Most recent was on 01/03/2024 when me & my partner went for food, it was delicious as expected from here, all staff members are lovely and Chloe our waitress was polite, engaging, friendly and made the experience better. Thanks!

The restaurant was really cold so we sat during the meal with our coats on. The furniture was damaged and unclean. Our order was incorrect and I was given the wrong meal. The service itself was disappointing considering there were only a few tables yet 3 staff members out front. The manager was busy eating their lunch stood behind the bar rather than looking after the guests. For the price we paid I would expect much better attention to detail. We will not be returning.

Went on a Monday with a Not so busy lunch but the food and service were spot on. I didn’t really know anything about Prezzo until being told about it by a colleague but really impressed Will defo return

I have visited plenty of times in the past but I must say a welcome smile on arrival and brilliant food and service so a huge well done to the staff! Starter: Salmon & Dill Main: Spaghetti & King Prawn Desert: Espresso Value for money 10/10 👏

Well, what can I say? This meal was booked for the 4th of February to celebrate my 70th birthday and my hubby's birthday but sadly we were ill with Covid so had to cancel and rebooked for the 17th. There were 13 of us and were greeted with smiles as usual and made to feel welcome. There was a range of ages in our group including our first great granddaughter who was born just over a week before, very attentive staff as usual who did everything to make us feel welcome, all the food was gorgeous and cooked to perfection, our burgers cooked by Dave were delicious as usual. The whole place was buzzing, really busy, our server Mara was perfect and was so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. All in all the perfect meal with all our family 5***** and will be back soon 👍

We ordered cheesecake and asked if we could have caramel sauce instead of chocolate sauce and the waitress was adamant and said no and lied and said that sticky toffee pudding has caramel sauce embedded in the pudding. When the sticky toffee pudding came it had the caramel sauce on the side. They could have added the caramel sauce instead on the cheesecake. Why be so tight over a sauce that was being SWAPPED. The sticky toffee pudding was cold. We asked for the bills 3 times and waited for half an hour. A service charge was added which we were not made aware of at the start. Just a load of jobs worths who think they are above the customers and don't need to provide a good service.

Food was average one meal the calazone was really good but the chicken was like it w as boiled the sauce was like water. Won't be returning. Staff begging for reviews not impressed

Rude staff, a business that cannot function without wifi zero common sence. Food out of a packet wouldnt waist your money even the tall chimney give this place a run for its money!

I ordered for the first time a click-and-collect meal and Dan the chef was very friendly and the food was delicious. The hostess was helpful at the counter and welcoming.

Me and my family love coming here, we often come every few weeks on the weekend. One of us has a nut allergy and the staff were very helpful and cautious. Mara was our server and she was very kind in helping my grandma look through the allergen list to make sure she could get what she wanted. We all ordered drinks, (one latte, one strawberry lemonade, one lime and soda and a jug of water for the table) they came out quick and were not left sitting on the side for ages like you might expect in other restaurants. One of us ordered a starter which came out quick and still piping hot. Mara came to our table to ask when the mains should come out, as in after the starter and the same time. We all thought this was very good as in some other places they will not ask you instead just bringing it out when its ready. For mains we ordered a Sea bass, a prezzo chicken burger and a kid's burger and also an extra portion of fries to share between us all. They were quick to come out and tasted very nice. Although, when we were choosing we noticed that the menu had changed, which would have been fine, but all of our usual/favourite dishes had been taken of the menu, so we were a bit annoyed about that but we still managed to find food that we enjoyed. Bear in mind that there were a few children in the restaurant including one of ours. There was a 30th birthday party next to our table where the women were being very loud and swearing and disturbing people in the restaurant. Although, Mara did notice the disturbance, we did not tell her or ask her to ask them to be quiet so overall we enjoyed our visit.

Pizza was good, very thin and crispy. Place was nice and clean, coffee tasted pretty good.

Visited on a Friday lunchtime. We had booked a table which was ready and set up for us when we arrived. Our waitress, Mara, was brilliant. She explained about some of the items in the menu. Kept us up to date on when food was arriving and checked all was okay. Really attentive. Renata, the Manager, delivered our drinks and she was really smiley and chatty too. Food was delicious, hot and nicely presented. Overall a really lovely lunch.

We really enjoyed our meal , it’s great good Quality food. The staff are pleasant and the service is great. However , there are two things that weren’t so great. £7 for a very small glass (125ml) of Prosecco is outrageous and I don’t like them including a service charge on the bill. The staff did highlight this and I was happy to pay as it was good service but I don’t like it being the default.

Lovely experience this afternoon/evening , really friendly and welcoming staff, really accommodating and helpful, I have a tastecard so 2for1 on all courses making it great value , food was delicious, thank you ☺️

Over priced and you don't get enough for your money ...and they don't take cash ! It cost us 30.00 a head and sadly I ended up at mcdonalds after ...poor value for money and honestly when I mentioned it to the staff they made a joke about it

This is the first time I have been to Prezzo. It was average at best. I ordered a pizza and whilst I am sure others enjoy Prezzo's pizzas, I found it too crispy, dry with not enough sauce and topping. I prefer the pizzas at my local takeaway pizza shop. Would I go back? Maybe not.

Had a great time at the Swadlincote Prezzo, shout out to Polly who was an incredible server, so kind and attentive! The food was really tasty and he eat value for money with their portion sizes! Would highly recommend!

Went today and was disappointed. The spaghetti with crab and chilli, well..... Where was the crab? Served up on stone cold plates and left on counter as short staffed by looks of it. Must admit tiramasu was lovely.. The bill.....well..... a service charge slapped on and only card payments..... 🙄

Went for lunch with friends sign on door saying closed so we nearly moved on but the waiter came out to us Ok food but very expensive for what we had Only one other table with two on so very quiet

This was the first time we visited this location and found it to exceed all expectations. Our server was a new addition to the team (first week) and was extremely attentive to our needs and made sure everything was correct (even with our many requirements and requests). The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the restaurant was spotless (even the toilets). The food was fab and the chef even decorated the birthday boy’s desert board and the staff all sang happy birthday too. We will be returning. Sadly the chef went on his break so we couldn’t thank him personally. Please pass on our thanks to all the team for making our experience so good! Good luck to our new Latvian friend and keep up the fab work 🫶👍👌😍

Have to say first of all the staff, service and atmosphere was excellent However I was so disappointed with the food. I would really like to know if there food is made on the premises such as ravioli. To me the lobster crab ravioli was like rubber it was not cooked very well had no taste I ate it because I was hungry . One of my friends had spaghetti she said it was soo bland . Maybe I've been spoiled I've had that meal before at a authentic Italian restuarant it tasted nothing like the one had previously. I felt it was no better than buying ravioli from the fresh counter in morrisons . Anyway I just could not give a review as I was asked to that was not glowing. For the price it was awful ..idont think I will go again. But I'd give staff 10 out of 10 and atmosphere..

INAPPROPRIATE COMMENTS MADE BY STAFF ! Inappropriate comments made by staff when ordering drinks, my Wife asked for a coke and the waiter replied "how many grams" he then went onto reading back the order saying "3 grams for the lady" totally unacceptable especially with my children and parents there too. Not impressed at all.

Very nice restaurant. The ambient is beautiful and the staff was friendly and nice. The food was good too. I ordered the aubergine, burrata and basil pizza and it was great. I highly reccomend it! I'll come back to try the pasta dishes that looked delicious.

Great Italian restaurant. Great service and food. However downstairs disabled toilets has problems: 1) toilet roll holder is positioned in an awkward place, 2) getting the paper out is also impossible for some disabilities due to its industrial design , 3) the hand dryer didn't detect my wife's hands and there are no paper hand towels!

The pizzas are very nice. The burgers are average when you consider the fact that the plate overall is not very well loaded, somewhat bare. Just about adequate for an average appetite. However, they taste very, very nice. My cuppachino was little more than lightly coffee flavoured lukewarm water. Extremely disappointing as my coffee is very important to me, especially if I'm paying a hefty price. I expect at the very least Costa or Starbucks quality. This didn't even start the race. Overall, I think a 3.1/2 stars would be closer to my actual assessment. On previous visits things were better, yet prices have risen sharply. Certainly no complaints staff wise. Decent bunch, cheerful & polite.

Poor service and very expensive. You can buy a house in Swadlincote for the price of two mains and two drinks. Then it will be burgled.

A great restaurant which is always easy to book and has some amazing food. Not only is the food great here, but the portions are also MASSIVE. I always walk away from the restaurant feeling very full, but satisfied. Service is always great and attentive and the restaurant is clean and decorated in a nice way.

Parents recently went for lunch, tiny serving of seafood risotto, a bit of garlic bread and a very small glass of orange juice £50 for them both. Prezzo has always been poor & overpriced and clearly has not changed.

Their smoked salmon pasta is absolutely delicious, great service too. I will definitely be coming back.

A great atmosphere for my Hen meal. The food was fantastic and Mike and his team were very accommodating. The alcohol was a little expensive, however the excellent food compensated for this. I would highly recommend Prezzo for a special occasion. Remember to take a card, as no cash payments. The menu is varied and the desserts out of this world! A fabulous three hours, thank you x

The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They asked us if there were any allergies and they sorted things for us. Staff were quick with drinks too. Food was nice but nothing mind blowing. Not my preferred style but that's not the restaurant fault. The point was to have something different. This is one of the more expensive places in town. For comparison I had one of the cheaper items on the menu and drank mostly water. £75 For a couple. By comparison went with 3 of us to Swad Indian, excellent meal, £60 for the 3. So I'm not picking here. My only real issue was that they add service charge automatically. I hate that. Let me choose the tip. They call it optional but no one wants the confrontation to change it. How about you just pay your staff properly Prezzo. A quick Google suggests they pay around minimum wage. You are one of the most expensive places in town you have no excuse to be paying so poorly.

Definitely recommend it. Very good on all accounts. Surprised by quality of food; service was also excellent. Exeptionally polite staff. Plenty of parking for those obsessed by parking. They also tell you about service charge and card only so you can go elsewhere if you want to. Also, why wouldn't you want to pay a service charge? Had a very enjoyable experience.

Good points are: the staff are incredibly welcoming and pleasant, also ample parking right outside due to the proximity to a free car park. The atmosphere is ok but it lacks the feel of a traditional Italian restaurant imo. I only had a pizza and it was nice enough but not amazing.

Firstly, the waitress we had was super friendly and attentive but unfortunately that’s the only positive. Never had a Bruschetta starter that was basically a “pizza base slic with chopped tomato and onions and a gallon of garlic olive oil on it? Crab and lobster ravioli tasted exactly of nothing. Kids menu states sorbet or gelato and various flavours but told only sell Sorbet which was Chocolate, Vanilla - really? So kids went for “Dippers” which was guess what… more pizza base and a pot of chocolate sauce. Also 10% service charge added on top however is clearly mentioned it is discretional but who is going to take it off when server is stood over you so find it a bit cheeky as prefer to leave a tip for the server so you know they have actually receive it. Finally as other have said drinks are pricy,£10 for a “cocktail” is getting on for City prices not a retail park. Overall disappointing experience and only saved by the server being good.

Me and my husband visited Prezzo in Swadlincote today. The service was really good and the food was delicious. We had the tre gusting pizza and a pork,fennel and nduja sausage pasta, both were really tasty! Would go back and would reccomend.

We decided to go here as part of a day out. We were using a buyagift voucher that must have been around 5 years old. we had never got around to using it, as the nearest Prezzo is at least an hour away from where we live Parking outside was ample. Blue badge parking was near to Prezzo. The welcome was cheerful and friendly The restaurant was very tastelfully decorated . Very classy. The tables downstairs were set a good distance apart, upstairs a bit closer to each other. Toilets were upstairs. Wheel Chair Assessible toilets were downstairs. Our menu was a special menu for buyagift cutomers. It was limited selection form the normal main menu. We found the selection of meals, enough to choose from We had Italian Hummus for starter, Spaghetti Carbonara for main and Tiramisu for dessert and it was all totally fantastic . So, so tasty, we would love to go back, but, we think it is a bit too far away from home for us unless we are passing! The two young ladies serving us were very polite, friendly and knowledgeable Superb!!

First time visiting with friends and the atmosphere and food was amazing. Very clean place and staff were friendly.

Wanted to book a table for a group of children for a birthday celebration. They informed me they are now cashless. I explained that the children do not have cards, they want to spend their pocket money and birthday money. They said an adult could go in and pay beforehand by card. I cancelled the booking and went to a company that understands the importance of cash. This is a very dangerous line this company is taking and therefore I will be boycotting it. Just ask some Chinese people how well a cashless society works for them. Ridiculous.

First class food and fantastic service. This is my 4th time here. No wonder I keep returning. Highly recommended to everyone.

Visited the Prezzo Restaurant in Swadlincote today for our daughter birthday. Had a lovely meal, the food was delicious, fresh and ready good portions. We had to wait a bit longer for our meal to come ( as understandable they only just opened after 2 days break) so we had some olives from the restaurant to keep us busy. Which was a very nice gesture. Mike and Polly looked after us and they made sure nothing was missing, they checked on us lots of times to see if we are happy. Overall service was excellent and food very delicious. We had a lovely lunch. We shall be back soon. 💕

Starters were nice. There were five of us all with different meals and non of us really enjoyed main or desserts. We chose to go here to eat for my birthday so I could have my free bottle of Prosecco. Apparently they had no Prosecco, however on leaving saw two women with glasses of it so I presume they meant they didn’t have their cheapest prosecco. Disappointed overall.

Nice place lovely ambience great staff- spoiled by the horrendous prices I’m sure £8 a pint is robbery and wine too! Kids small orange £3.50 the meals are already expensive but nice however the Prezzo burger is not worth £12.50 a few fries and a burger !!! Never return at that price I don’t mind if it’s a great meal - not this !!! Staff rushed to get us out at the end tho the place was only a third full

We were staying in the area and went to Prezzo for a meal. The restaurant was very clean and modern with a good ambience. All staff were friendly and attentive. The staff next door at aTall Chimney should take lessons from them in how to treat your customers! The food was good. We both chose the chicken in Marsala wine sauce which is a favourite of ours. There was an optional service charge added which we were happy to pay.

Lovely and accommodating staff here, they always seat us away from others because we have so many kids. The food is always lovely, especially the linguini and fish dishes.

We won a meal for 2 in a local charity’s raffle. Prezzo had donated the meal to Wonkey pets animal rescue. Food and service were both great. We both had a pizza which was very tasty. Will definitely return.

We went to Prezzo for lunch, a large party of 32. Mike and all the staff were fantastic! They were very efficient and attentive and the food was of a very high standard. The food came out quickly and everyone in the party were very happy and complimentary of the service. We would recommend this restaurant.They dealt with the pressure of a big party brilliantly.Thank you Prezzo!

We went for a family meal and although the food we had was good, two burgers, spaghetti carbonara, crab and lobster ravioli, garlic bread we thought it was on the expensive side. Drinks were also expensive and we had soft drinks and I must say it’s the worst cloudy lemonade that I have ever had. Staff training is needed as our waitress was non interactive. We also did not appreciate a service charge on the bill which we declined to pay as we believe it should be the customer who makes the decision based on their experience.

Terrible service, waited 1hr and 30 minutes for just the starter!! HURRY UP!! Main food order had NOT gone through to the chef and the response was non-existent! McDonald's has better food and service than Prezzo! Would not recommend...

Nice interior design and fantastic facilities. The staff, manager and waitress was good. The pizza was excellent however I wasn't impressed with the pasta. Although my girlfriend's was alright , mine was Luke warm and was just not hot enough. The salmon was a little cold too. Overall I was disappointed with my dish, it wasn't tasty at all. We both didn't finish our dishes and had to pack it for the dog.

First time at this restaurant. Booked a table for 4 people for my mums birthday. On first glance the tables are very small. The waitress was over straight away and took our drink orders and have us menus as we sat down. Food was ordered and the starters were there within 10 minutes. Lovely food. Plates cleared away, fresh cutlery given. Our main meals arrived pretty quickly and again they were great. We even managed a pudding! Will definitely go again at some point.

Meal out with family, server was a young gentlemen who was really nice and chatty, and patient with people's orders. Food was quick and lovely. Only thing was the parmesan that was added to my salad main though the menu states it is vegetarian, since parmesan isn't vegetarian. That's all. Lovely service and staff, will be returning soon :)

Fantastic place brilliant service and great italian food.

Booked a meal to treat a couple of friends as l have already been many times and enjoyed the meals.As we arrived at Lunchtime the manager said we have no fish no burgers but everything else should be okay. We waited about 25 minutes for the order to be taken and ordered 2 lasagna and 1 goats cheese Al forms. When the food d arrived the waitress only bought the lasagna, and said sorry we have no goats cheese, so do you want to order something else which means my 2 friends had to eat alone, so l ordered another lasagna which l did not have to wait to long but it was embarrassing when this was a treat for my friends.After we finished we decided to look at the desert menu, the waitress said the only choice you have is Tiramisu, ice cream or fudge cake, l asked the waitress was is happening with all these shortages she said we have had no deliveries but apologised again.My Friends enjoyed the tiramisu but the fudge cake was very dry.After we finished the waitress decided to not charge for the fudge cake as it was so dry and did not charge for the service.l am not sure what is happening at this restaurant, if the management has changed but l will definitely not go back.

Pre booked and quizzed about how we were paying before we were shown to our table. We'd had a gift card given us for Christmas and as we asked for the bill, this was taken from the table and used before we'd seen the bill. Plus a service charge was automatically added to our bill which I object to anywhere and prefer to cash tip. Will not be eating here again based upon this and our pre Christmas experience.

Amazing staff here, who were able to accommodate to my needs. Asked to be in a booth on the end, as we wanted to have a bit of distance due to covid, and they reserved it for us. The food was lovely, especially the pasta and lasagne.

We love eating at Prezzo in Swadlincote. The staff are so nice and friendly. The food is spot on 👌, Thank you chefs! We had the Valentines 'special menu' it was really nice.... One minor criticism, please change the dead plant at the bottom of the stairs, the one in the damaged pot (needs changing too) . Everywhere else is beautiful. See you again soon.

Lovely meal lovley service from the staff

This restaurant is very chic inside. Clean lines and gorgeous lighting. What a shame we were initially sat at a tiny table for the two of us - maybe it was because we were using a voucher for the set menu which was a Christmas gift to us - more about that later! We were grudgingly moved to a larger table where we looked over the menu. Drinks first - a gin and tonic which the server kindly pointed out wasn’t a part of the set menu - I hadn’t expected it to be!! We ordered our food - I ordered a pizza from the main menu which the server again kindly pointed out would incur an extra charge - as I expected. The food, when it finally arrived, was delicious. The problem was the miserable, arrogant, surly, disengaged, ignorant staff sloping around the restaurant in their skin tight leg wear and sloppy tops. A smile would have helped, some conversation might make us feel more inclined to return. But after two hours and 20 minutes, we got our coats on to go. We couldn’t wait any longer for an after dinner coffee. And we won’t return to this miserable place … we would rather spend our vouchers and money somewhere where the staff actually want us to be there.

Had a lovely prawn risotto today, this was really tasteful., and the young lady that served us couldn't be any nicer , really on the ball. !! Will definitely come again 🙂

Short staffed so food wasn't t as good as normal but service was very good

We have been to Prezzos a few times and could not fault it but this time it was terrible. We arrived at 16.30 and all seamed OK, we ordered drinks and then food. This was sorted by 17.00, we waited about 30 minutes before the starters arrived which we enjoyed. After an hour of waiting I asked about our meals and was told they would be along shortly, another hour passed and I was told, sorry for the delay but they were short staffed and the meal would be brought to us very soon as they were just putting it up. 15 minutes later it arrived and to say we were disappointed is an understatement, out of the 9 meals 7 were either stodgy or lacking flavour, 1 was sent back because it was barely warm and when returned was barely eatable, all the other meals baring 2 of the pizzas had a large potion left on the plates uneaten, we had waited over 2 and1/2 hours for rubbish meals and to say we were annoyed and upset is putting it mildly. I cannot complain about the staff as they were apologetic and did there best in a situation that was out of there control and the star rating is not directed on them. We were offered a 30% reduction in the cost of the bill which we declined and said we would pay for the drinks but not the meal, then after further discussion they accepted. Will we be going back, not a hope in hell.

Took my daughter here for her 21st as we just let her choose where she wanted to go and we would pay. All I can say from start to finish the evening was brilliant. I normally wouldn't choose Italian food myself as normally I'm more a Chinese food but it was her choice and it really was brilliant. The food was excellent and plentiful as for the service it was fantastic we all really enjoyed it and will definitely return again in the near future. I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you for making our evening a great one & more importantly making my daughters 21st even more special.

Gift voucher from buy a gift allowed a 3 course meal from a set menu and a glass of wine. Excellent choice of set menu. Great food. Decent portion size with friendly & prompt service. Lovely atmosphere. Very clean and spacious with nice facilities. Parking a bonus too. Would definitely return.

We received our starters before our drinks so not a great start. The lady sat at the next table had her coat on while eating her meal, I soon understood why.. it was really quite chilly where we were sat and I kept my scarf on most of the time we were there . Mains were nice and tasty we had a chicken burger and lasagne. There was a little confusion over the bill as I had my tesco club card vouchers to use but the manager came over to sort out and gave me a voucher for the next time we visit which I thought was nice. But I'll wear a jumper next time I go 😁

terrible service, I'm more than 20 minutes waiting for someone to take the order

Experienced another enjoyable evening and meal at Prezzo Swadlincote. We've been here at least a half dozen times choosing to use our Tesco Clubcard vouchers which triple up to turn £10 of vouchers into £30 to use against a meal here... you can't go wrong... Without vouchers, expect to pay around £20 per head for a two course and £27 for a 3 course plus your drinks. I never struggle to find several meal options to choose from the menu and haven't been disappointed with my choices so far. The staff are friendly, attentive and seem intuitive enough to know when it's appropriate to engage in conversation or leave you in peace. The meatball starter is always a delicious choice but I went for crispy mozzarella with a spicy caprese ketchup this time. The presentation wasn't anything special but was still a very nice sized starter with the caprese ketchup giving it a little kick. The main courses were Oak Smoked Salmon Penne and Tre Carni Calzone, the Penne being the lighter of the two meals. The Calzone is very nicely presented with a dressed side salad and a sauce boat filled with a tomato sauce. As ever with a Calzone the ends have little or no filling (this is where the sauce boat comes in) and you slowly work to the centre where the main event lies. Full of flavour and very tasty I'd happily have this meal every time. I only got to try a fork full of the salmon dish but that might be my choice on the next visit 😋 With ample free parking outside, the restaurant itself looks clean, classy with several different seating style areas catering for family groups or intimate couples. It also has a gallery seating area where you can overlook the downstairs and bar area if you like a little bit of people watching with your conversation and meal. Very impressed, I can see why it was one of the restaurants that survived the Prezzo cull before and during lockdown and will be back for more in the near future.

Very fast service. I ordered when I sat down and less than 10 mins later my food was brought out. Very nice atmosphere and service. No complaints whatsoever, although it is pricey for what the food is. Ok for a one off though.

Our family love this restaurant. We've been several times and it's always first class. Food always tasty and well cooked and the staff always polite even through covid. Well done
