Introduced to this place by a vegetarian who lives in Guiseley . Only trwo of our party are vegetarians but all the meat eaters were well impressed with the presentaton and tastes . Great atmosphere in this busy restaurant. Very good value , would love to come again soon . Well worth coming a long way to try this place/. My starter was Ajma Paneer , beautifully presented and very tasty Paneer infused with Carom and Garlic , Just had to try the Chole an unusual Chickpea Curry with Cinnamon an Star Anise . The Dosa was very filling and the Spinach and Potato dish quite spicy . Byriani and the rice excellent . good value beer and wine

Tharavadu

08/12/2018: I love all things Indian with regard to food & can't believe I haven't eaten here before. Warm welcome & friendly service throughout.
01/08/2018: Tharavadu, what an odd name, sounding like some ancient Asian God or even a martial art! But it’s actually a Keralan restaurant towards the bottom of a slightly unprepossessing street near Leeds main station. The exterior is painted brown but the interior a bright yellow. We hadn’t booked and proved lucky to get a table even on a Wednesday evening albeit at 7pm which seems to be the prime dining time here. We were ushered upstairs to a room which would have been entirety bland but for the entire ceiling painted in a map of Kerala blatantly vying with Yorkshire itself for the epithet God’s own country. But here the food does the talking. Here one doesn’t just start the meal with poppadoms but a whole range of snacks, including deep fried pappada vada, rice and gram flour based pakkavada as well as banana crisps. One of the accompanying pickles made from pineapple was one of the best pickles I’ve ever had in an Indian restaurant. A Masala dosa (starter) was at least as twice as long as its plate. My wife’s chicken curry was equally generous comprising two chicken breasts in a tangy sauce served with rice and a separate bowl of potatoes. My fish curry was also one of the best I’ve tasted in an Indian restaurant but came with such a mound of cassava that I could barely start the bowl of lemon rice I ordered as an accompaniment. Sadly no room for the colourful sorbets and kulfis en route to other tables. There’s a good wine list, craft beers and even Indian cider. Altogether quite an unique experience.

My Thai Leeds

15/11/2018: Prices are very reasonable and there is a good choice of dishes. Service is excellent - little waiting for food to be delivered.
09/10/2018: Great tasting Thai food served quickly by efficient staff. Very reasonably priced eating in on not too comfortable seats. Even cheaper as a take out.
