Posh Spice Indian Takeaway in Thanet

Probably the worst curry ever we 've ever had. Butter chicken was very pale, looked like yoghurt, chicken in the Nag had horrible texture/not very nice, couldn't bring myself to swallow it and ended up spitting it out. Gutted to have wasted our money trying a new place.

It was ok. But the chicken was tough. Will try again and update if it was a one off

This is a sad moment I've just had my last meal from posh spice I've been going there since they opened but the last 2 orders have been terrible. Ending up putting in the bin .

What a local gem! The food and service at this place is always wonderful. Such delicious and flavourful curries - the menu is large but the food is all clearly freshly cooked.

Had another lovely takeaway from Posh Spice. The most incredible Lamb Rogan. A must visit and 15% off when you order online for collection!

I've been coming here for a decade -- since Britannia Spice closed -- even though I've been living in London. It's truly the best Indian restaurant I've come across. Proximity to Posh Spice is genuinely a big plus now I'm moving back to North Somerset.

Love this restaurant, food is always spot on, service is friendly and never rushed. I drive 30 minutes to eat here and have left Bristol on a night out to do the same.

Menu seems really exciting so we were looking forward to our take away. Our food was disappointing, both dishes tasted like tomato passata with a bit of coconut milk to differentiate the Dansak from the Ceylon. Dansak didn't have any lentils and very little flavour. Paneer Tikka was good, the best part of the meal was the sauce with that. Other sides, including bread were about okay. Tried to order online but couldn't complete order so ordered by phone - online I saw total with 15% discount applied. To cut a long story short, the waiter didn't add the discount but told me it had been added..When I explained the online order had a different total, he told an elaborate story about me using an old system for my online order - where prices are out of date. Basically, silly you for making a mistake. He gave me a 'new' menu, I checked and had been overcharged. Don't mind paying at all but the nonsense story wasn't necessary. And I get there are cultural differences but along with the food being less than average, its a bit irritating. Quite expensive quasi Italian Indian food..maybe we'll try again one day though! There's always hope!

They should be closed down permanently due to habitually employing illegal workers

I'd say the best value meal I've had for a long time....I live in Bristol but I'd rather travel to nailsea it's that good ...no drinks licence so you have to take your own alcohol....

Decent food, definitely not filling enough for the price though.

One of my fave Indian restaurants, friendly staff and food is tasty..only downside is once you've had your food you get forgotten so no after dinner coffees and had to go up to bar in the end to pay because no-one ever comes back to see if you want anything else after main is done.

It is hard to believe that I gave this restaurant a 4 star review 2 years ago. Having been back there several times since and had a good experience on every occasion, only to be driven to deleting that review and writing a fresh version today. What has happened to Posh Spice, was there a change of management, or has some post Covid apocalypse stress syndrome robbed them of their customer and culinary skills.? The guy who served us was the same guy who took our phone booking for our fairly large party of guests. Rude and curt on the phone and equally rude and curt in person. No attempt at friendly banter whatsoever. The Coke came free of carbonation, just flat brown sweet liquid. No way he didn't know about this. The starters arrived cold and very small indeed. I've eaten at their cousins place in Weston Super Mare, their portions by comparison are twice the size. The main course was probably freshly cooked at some point earlier that week. I can tell reheated food when I see it, yes I just have to look at it to know. To be honest, I was glad to get out of there. Yep, I won't be going back. So they lost my business and that of the group of family and friends that accompanied me. I expect not to be scowled at by the table staff and management, or spoken to as if I wasn't welcomed in their restaurant and above all else, served food that was of poor quality when it was fresh, yet alone approaching it's first anniversary.( Sarcasm). Trying to cheer myself up after such an awful experience.

Great for a take away or dine in. The Banquet night is excellent value and all the good is great quality. My favourite Indian and very glad to be so local for me! Would definitely recommend

Great prices, but standard Indian restaurant. Food good. Service good. Had the annoying thing where your curry is everyone’s favourite (Lamb Pathia)… so had to fight others off it. The balti was very good too.

Wow just had a beautiful curry not used Posh Spice for years as never been impressed but wow whatever you are doing to change things that was one lovely meal! Will be back !

Sometimes good. Sometimes not so good. Last vegetable Balti I had was just onions onions onions and a couple of bits of carrot, one bit of potato and more onions onions onions. The Spinach dish seemed to be mostly onions too. I guess onions are cheap.

Great food chicken tikka vindaloo was lovely ! . Went again last night saw all these 1ratings on social media !!!! What a load of rubbish that is , food was great and so was the service and cider . Don't listen to everything you read because it's still a lovely place to eat .

Been here a fair few times for both dine in and takeaway. Normally very good, but we ordered for 6:45, got to the restaurant to pick it up and had to wait an additional 45 minutes. They asked for my name 3 times to check on the food and still didn’t arrive. Finally we got given the items we ordered, to then get home and find the food was cold and we were also missing our onion bhajis. Really disappointed.

We've been a satisfied customer with Posh Spice in the past but this was not the case on Thursday (18th Nov). As it was a family members birthday, we decided to treat ourselves, I wish we hadn't. The food was cold & mediocre & our order was wrong! We were missing a rice, we called Posh Spice who told us to return to them & they gave us an extra rice for the inconvenience. By the time we got back with our extra rice (which we didn't want) our other food was stone cold. We had a massive bag of salad instead of individual portions where the lettuce was brown around the edges, 1 piece of tomato & 1 chunk of cucumber. It was a real shame it was so bad.

Friendly service, well spiced curry dishes at a very reasonable price - what more could you want? A great neighbourhood restaurant.

Delicious food but the garlic in the garlic rice was crunchy.. Little bit strange for me. The kingfisher tasted like the keg had been open for a while. Staff are attentive and the restaurant has a nice ambience.

Collection was a bit delayed but it was 1930 on a Saturday! Good exactly as ordered and delicious.

Ordered takeaway, food was on time , pleasant staff but unfortunately the food was Luke warm and devoid of any flavour, I would go as for to say bland , it was perfectly edible but just flavourless , I ordered quite a cross section of dishes , breads etc and it seemed across the board , maybe a different chef ? It’s a long while since we had food from here due to pandemic, unfortunately it will be a long time again . Disappointing

Cook has got some serious issue with sugar. Ordered 4 mains- all of them sweet like desserts. Won't recommend!

Friendly local restaurant and takeaway. We'd been going there for years and had stopped getting takeaways due to frequent errors with our orders. We gave them another try recently and found they've really upped their game both in terms of quality and accuracy of the order. Delicious dishes and great value for money. We're fans again!

Food is good, portions are moderate and prices very reasonable. I'm dubious about the colour of some dishes, I suspect food dyes are being used, unnecessary in this day and age.

Website says open from 12 noon to 2pm. But when I tried to place a telephone order they wouldn’t cook until after 6pm.

Amazing food, best ever mushroom omelette

Nothing has changed here I wouldn't have even given any stars. I Ordered a curry sunday of chicken tikka Balti, chichen madras, vegan/vegetarian meal and potato and spinach side dish Where do I start Lukewarm apart from the veggies meal which was the only thing that was hot Chicken was tough Very disappointed in this situation we are in thought the food would be excellent. Never again.

Went to this Indian for years and never had any problems until about a year ago when I found a huge mosquito in my naan bread which put us off going for a while but decided to give it another chance a couple months later so we got our usual order, got home and found yet again another mosquito looking bug right on top of the pot of onion!! We now go across the road to the Indian cottage and haven’t had any problems there.

Lovely food ,but slow service . Seem to be more focused on take away orders than restaurant guests.

Meal ordered online, process was good, but no option to pay online. This would my preference. I had ordered a take away meal and collection was quick and easy. I do not eat take away meals often, but my experience has been that dishes from a restruant are better than an equivilent dish purchased as a ready meal. This was not the case with the order from Posh Spice. I felt the look and taste were no different from a higher quality meal purchased from a supermarket (Tesco FInest for example). I had a Chicken Madras, and it was 'alright', but nothing special. It would of been much better value purchasing ready meals and the taste would of been very similar. Either the meal I purchased from Posh Spice was not as good as the time before or ready meals have improved. I suspect both are true.

Poor food, tandoori mixed grill tasted more like microwave bbq chicken from a bag, staff walked straight through me when walking down the aisle, service poor, only polite staff member was the bartender

Great value great food great atmosphere

Not steaming hot but hot enough to eat. Just personal preference that I like my food to be piping hot. Chicken Chat is always amazing. (that's now made me hungry)

Great Indian Restaurant! A very large array of choice here with so many dishes to choose from! The staff are extremely good at their jobs and provide an excellent service! The food is very good and their Banquet Night is definitely worth going to which is £10.95 for a starter, main dish, side dish and rice/bread! (I think banquet night is every Wednesday) A good choice if you're with friends or family and fancy an evening meal out!

My favourite place for Indian Food in the West Country. Really good food. Warm welcoming and friendly staff. They have a fixed price night where you may choose a starter, main course, side dish and either Naan bread or any rice for a fixed price. Really is extra value for money. Beautiful place to eat. Parking is available either outside or nearby.

The staff are good. The food is lovely me and the family went on a banquet night for £10.95 each you get a starter and main course with a side dish and either rice or nan bread I think that's a well good price for what you get. We will definitely be going again.

Interesting and varied choice of curries, and we really enjoyed our food. The only disappointment was the waitress wasn't able to answer any of our questions about the menu. I was keen to try something new but her inability to help, meant I played safe and had a Jalfrezi.

Food and service both excellent

Dissapointed. I have now eaten here on two occasions, the first was a takeaway and the second time in the restaurant. On both occasions they have got the order wrong and the meat has been of poor quality, overcooked and chewy. They did provide way of compensation on both occasions but overall not impressed.

Absolutely the worst service and meal I’ve ever had! We ordered take away based on recommendation and my husband collected it. On getting it home we had half of our order, half of someone else’s... well we didn’t have what we ordered anyway! I decided to make the best of it but on opening the first dish, butter chicken, well it was totally dry chicken with a slopped on layer (not mixed at all) of a sauce similar in colour to Korma but thick and almost sliceable! I’ve seen more appetising airline food! We persevered, half our order was missing completely meaning we’d paid well over what we should of, almost everything was stone cold. We gave up, rang to ask for our order to be redone and got told we’d have to travel back to Nailsea, take the food we’d already partly plated back and then they’d see about making the order again. I gave up at this point, my husband took the slop back and we’ve ordered a pizza! We’ve lost time and money travelling back and forth, no apologies at all from Posh Spice even when faced with the evidence the order we received wasn’t correct. Shockingly bad all round.

Yet again our take away order was incomplete, this is the third time off the trot no vegetable curry side dish with the Chicken Barani.....The Chicken Tika Balti was basically the chicken carcass hardly any edible meat just a load of bones....£42.95 will never ever go back again, we say it every time but this is the last time...(Ordered in the name of Bracey)
