My favourite local restaurant. Super simple no fuss menu of various steaks, chips and salad. The steaks are next level amazing and great chips. Love the no frills, relaxed approach with amazing food and the owners could not be nicer!

One of the greatest steak houses around. We go every year with friends to this gem and I wouldnt change anything about it. Steak is superb and the wine is delicious. The staff make it just a great time!

Was a lovely quaint restaurant with excellent steak, done perfectly. The cherry on the top are the desserts, from sticky toffee pudding to apple crumble, all excellent. Lovely Oxana was a delight and absolute sport with my 5 year old niece! Would go again for sure.

A simple steak menu but well executed. The steaks come with really nice chunky chips and a variety of mustards, horseradish and bearnaise sauce. The sticky toffee pudding was probably one of the best I’ve had! We really liked the house red wine as well. The service was friendly and prompt.

Very quaint neighbourhood steak house that serves fuss-free steaks which are grilled by the solo-steak maestro 10 feet away from you. Had the 30 ounce T-bone which was amazing but could have used a bit more seasoning; likely done this way to allow you to utilise the sauces but am a purist so unable to give full points for this reason. Biggest surprise was the best damn sticky toffee pudding I’ve ever had in my life for dessert.

Had not been for several years but found it was delivering outstanding steaks. The key? Top quality beef, cooked as ordered, to perfection. The accompanying chips were thick cut, hot and delicious.

Love this place - great steaks, lovely chips and attentive service. It is a bit pricey, but mist places are these days.

Had a really special birthday dinner here. Absolutely delicious food and an excellent wine list. The meat was cooked to perfection and the chips - OMG. Insanely yummy! Service was also faultless. I’m definitely going to make this my regular. I noticed that another table was set and ready with wine decanted for a regular. What a service!

The restaurant it’s nice and the food too for a reasonable price only problem?! After neither 5 minutes I was there I started coughing, I am allergic to mould and I have to leave as soon as I finish as I could not breathe anymore.

Steak so tender you could cut it with a butter knife. 2 of us had fillet, one rump and one rib eye. All agreed our steaks were perfectly cooked, very flavoursome and incredibly tender. Lovely range of sauces brought to the tae to accompany - bearnaise, several mustards, horseradish. No extra charge. The chips were plentiful and delicious too! Great options to choose the weight of your steak instead of leaving half on your plate.

It has been almost a year since I came here and I am still annoyed. My wife and I thought this could become our neighborhood steakhouse and came here for her birthday. After asking about different steak options multiple times, we were told that only filet mignon was available that night. I prefer a cut with more fat and had a hard time believing this. Each time we were told the same thing. So... We ordered what was available. After other patrons came in, we saw that people had other cuts on their plate. Supremely disappointing and I get the impression that they tried to take advantage of us since we were new. Will never return.

One of the best steaks I have ever had. Take the round cut, or what they call the Pope's Eye, it is perfection. So tender and full of flavor it is a work of culinary art. The French fries are also the absolute best, true British fries you just cannot have anyplace else in the world. Service is friendly and efficient.

We came here last night for food with friends and the food was amazing. The fillet was cooked to perfection and the chips where some of the best ive had. We was made very welcome from the moment we came in. Best dining out experience i had in a while, We would really recommend you visit here.

The most friendly and accommodating staff. Amazing steaks, good wine selection, awesome desserts. Very simple menu. And extremely reasonable for the quality of food. Did I said AWESOME, yes it is.Simple and cozy but GREAT. My only regret not ordering a 12 or 16 ounce fillet.

Wonderful local place with great steaks!! There is a really lovely family atmosphere here and the food is delicious! Highly recommend for family nights or dinner out with a loved one :)

Every single dish is spot on here. Chips and cheesecake went down too quickly and missed opportunity to take photos. Ate Highland fillet which was on special and followed by another ribeye steak. I wish my stomach can take in more. Total satisfaction.

Popeseye is a "pure" steakhouse, unlike the fancy ones that have been around lately. Focusing only on delivering quality meat cuts accompanying them with a good selection of wines. Lovely people are running the restaurant; if you are looking for a trendy place, look elsewhere; if you are a meat lover, you must visit the site. A hidden gem at Hammersmith.

If ever you needed to be reminded that London has hidden culinary gems around every corner this is it! The simplest of menus, the highest level of service and probably one of the best steaks I've eaten in a very long time. If you want great food without the pretentiousness of so many 'high end' steak houses then this is the place for you!

This is *the* place to go if you want some beef and have the money for it. It's small and charming, staff is warm and welcoming, and they have a challenge. The place is great, but none of that will matter once you try the fillet and the fries it comes with. SO GOOD.

Very decent steak! Super simple concept: steak & chips. Nothing else, but well done! The chips were actually incredible, super thick and chunky but fluffy. The steak was very nicely charred and crisp, but in my opinion the meat itself lacked flavour. From 100% grass fed Scottish beef I would have expected more of that characteristic grass fed taste but that wasn’t really there. Still good though!

Cosy and simple in the interiors, quality oriented in the food. Meat is good, very well dry aged and tender. Prices are honest and meat is cooked healthy on a grill with no frills, no added oils and fats. Ian the cook / owner, Sonia the waitress and the other cook are nice to talk with and made my experience very pleasant.

If possible I would give this place 6 stars. The staff were very relaxed, friendly and welcoming. The steak was so good that we came back a second time during our 4 day trip. Everything we ordered was immaculate. We would both highly recommend here for a steak dinner. Well done for pleasing my girlfriend who is a very picky eater.

Really, really good. Hidden gem with excellent quality beef. There might be other things on the menu - I wasn't looking for them. Lots of cuts to choose from, perfect cuisson, cursory nod to 'greens' in the form of a salad as an optional side, and a 10/10 wine list. I had a bottle of 2015 Chateau Gloria with an Angus fillet and it was about the most i've enjoyed a dinner in London for yonks. Neighbourhood jewel.

We walked past this restaurant on our way to the Design Museum and thought it looked good so we booked a table...and we weren't not disappointed. The steaks were really good, probably close to the best I've had, service was good and we even had space for a little dessert. What a great find, and lovely start to our little mini break.

A simple menu focused just on steak and chips but you can choose between all the popular cuts and in a wide range of sizes. The steak was perfectly cooked and the service was welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Incredibly tasty steak, served and cut to however you'd prefer it without any complications or unnecessary additions (with nice chunky fries too). Friendly and helpful staff and as it was situated on a more discreet residential road, our dinner experience here was definitely one to remember.

The food is absolutely amazing. Great quality and cooked to perfection. But what really pushed our experience over the top was the best-in-class service! We really enjoyed our time here and the service was truly above and beyond. 10/10 would recommend!!

In these Corona days, it's so good to have a great local spot. They offer a full array of steaks to suit every taste. Some great wines (plus BYO if you want) and even a salad to go with your fries if you ask!

I enjoyed it but I think it is super over priced for what you get. The flavour was great but I don't think the weight of the meat was what was stated on the menu. The service was amazing and the waitress made such a big effort for the table as my friend was new in the area. I hate to give it only three stars but I just feel like the overall experience doesn't add up to the amount of money spent

I went with no expectations, just to have a great with my bf and friends. We had a lovely night, the portions were big and tasty. The size of the puddings are generous. Would have liked some chutneys with the cheese. I will definitely go back and suggest it to other people who want to have a nice steak.

Fabulous cuts of meat. Just brilliant steak. House red wine is lush as well. Simple, good quality, wholesome food.

Locale piccolo ma molto accogliente. Carne veramente gustosa e cucinata all’istante a pochi passi dai commensali. Scelta non vastissima ma di ottima qualità con prezzi adeguati (prezzo a “peso” quindi ci si può gestire al meglio). Le salsine di accompagnamento poi sono una vera gioia per il palato. Sicuramente da tornare.

It does what it says - they're steak is fantastic! Beware if you are a vegetarian. All they do is steak and they do it exceptionally well - definitely try their Highland beef! Their sides are limited (either chips or a very basic lettuce salad) and there are no starters. It could be improved by offering more sides that would complement the steak like steamed spinach, asparagus, broccoli - any cooked vegetables. Overall it is a nice place to enjoy great steak in a cozy atmosphere with friendly and personable staff.

If you like steak, this is the place to go! Simple but really good food. Just go for a main course (steak, steak or steak, perhaps with some chips and a side salad if you are lucky!) and you won't regret it!

Been coming to this restaurant for years - not flashy or pretence - you are paying for superb top quality Angus hung steak - cooked to perfection the way you want it, accompanied if you wish by melt in the mouth chips & fresh salad & a great choice of superb wines ....... Highly recommended 10/10 Steaks vary in cuts and weight - just ask the waitress what YOU want :)

This place had been recommended by a colleague as a great place for a steak night. Although the quality of the meat is undoubtedly outstanding – tender, fresh Scottish beef - I left overall disappointed. Clearly, the meat is so good it doesn’t need much seasoning – but not having any salt at all was a bit too extreme! Then, we were provided with a variety of sauces (mustards and so on), but it wasn’t great to then have them taken away to be put on other dinners’ tables (raising big alarm bells to the OCD there’s in me!). Then… of course the meat is the star of the place, but would it be too much to ask for home-made chips, rather than the pre-made, frozen, cheap-like chips we were offered? I was curious about the homey, unpretentiousness feel of the restaurant, but overall the sensation is that they’re happy to live by the very basic standards. A shame, as I see potential to make this a remarkable dinner for meat-lovers like me!

My husband and I love the occasional steak and chips and have enjoyed many good steaks over the years. We sampled 3 different steak cuts at Popeseye and all were amazing. The mature beef is delievered 3 times a week from Scotland. You can select the cut and watch it cooked to your liking. Fantastic range of red wines to accompany the steak.

Been several times to Popeseye ... and sure to return several times more. Consistently good. Choice of cuts (think six) and select your size, served with super chips too. Friendly service in a small local restaurant - great to support and feel pretty sure you will have a lovely meal & be well taken care of. Looking forward to my next "excuse" to return.

A very small restaurant run by a couple. Focusing on steak only. These are good but not amazing. Possibility to bring your own bottle for a cork fee. The bill is quite spicy for the set up at around ~45£ per head. Not sure I will return.

Quaint little restaurant, menu is basically just steak & salad & red wine. Meat cooked to perfection, fun ambience. If you just want a good steak without all the frills or overkill of big name steak houses, I recommend this place.

No he estado en este maravilloso restaurante en más de 15 años y me preocupaba que no estuviera a la altura de los recuerdos que tenía de este lugar. Sin embargo, la calidad de la comida, el ambiente y la hospitalidad fueron mejores que nunca. La nueva opción de bistec especial fue increíble, como siempre se cocinó a la perfección, las papas fritas eran fantásticas y no tenían mucha grasa, y la "pieza de resistencia" era el brownie de chocolate, y como conocedor de brownie, ¡creo que es el mejor marrón del mundo! (No estoy exagerando). El servicio fue encantador, dirigido por dos personas que cuidan cada aspecto de su experiencia.Recuerdos increíbles, viejos y nuevos, y definitivamente no lo dejarán tanto tiempo.

If you want the best cuts of beef nicely prepared the way you want it, The Popeseye is the place to go.It is a small family restaurant, does not look much from the outside but they are the real deal. They have almost any cut of beef that you want and you can pick the size. It is very simple. If they don't have it, you don't want it.All of their beef comes from Scotland and is fresh. I like my steak blue and they did it perfectly. It is a small place that makes you fell like home. For sure I will come again and try their range of steaks and maybe one day try to beat their steak challenge.

Steaks are cooked almost perfectly, and are accompanied by chips. The rib eye was up with the best and the sirloin was good too - maybe lacking a bit of flavor, so remember to add a little salt or douse with the sauces that accompany your order. While the food menu is basic, The wine list is extensive. Definitely recommended to anyone looking for a nice date place and good steaks.

Fantastic steak, great service, amazing chips and desserts to die for! My only complaint is that they run out of the Highland special steaks too quickly, but the rest are all still great!
