Pomegranate in Manchester

Pomegranate restaurant claims to offer Persian cuisine, but the reality falls short. To add to the disappointment, the staff's behavior is rude and inattentive. Overall, it's not worth the visit if you're seeking genuine Persian flavors and good service.

Food was very good but quite to my taste. Dish was very sweet.

As a Persian I must say the quality of the food was really bad! This is not authentic Persian food sorry. Better quality ingredients need to be used. The atmosphere, decorations and music is nice though. Also the olives and baklava were lovely.

Pomegranate Restaurant Didsbury A very wet evening 2 nd January my daughter suggested Pomegranate to celebrate her birthday a girls meal out . It was quiet to be expected on a wet early January evening but we were not disappointed ! We went for the January offer 3 courses for £29 …the Baklava had to go home with us far too satisfied with first & second courses ! Not eaten Persian food before we had no idea we went for Hummus dip & a crisp naan , salad of Asparagus , Walnut & Feta with a divine dressing chose two main dishes Fessenjoon, Chicken in a tangy walnut & pomegranate sauce Badernjooni lamb with aubergine & chilli Both served with half salad & rice A bottle of house Red We can’t fault service & presentation although quiet we had a lovely evening we will definitely go back on my next trip from Yorkshire !

Busy on Tuesday night says it all, the lamb shank and the chicken kebab were absolutely delicious. Some of the best and well priced food I have ever eaten with a family owned feel and help and professional staff.

First time trying this place this evening & it didn't disappoint. The food was delicious. The restaurant homely with some stunning pieces to entertain the eye. The service was just as I like, friendly and relaxed, not feeling rushed. I'll be coming back, I'm sure.

Food was excellent, shame I didn't get any photographs, the only issue was our group was made to feel as if we had to rush out food.

Went for a meal with some friends and we all loved it. The food was delicious, there was a great selection on the menu; I could happily go back again and again without getting bored. The staff were really friendly. They made a minor mistake because they thought I'd cancelled my booking, but then made every effort to accommodate us, moving tables around to ensure they could fit us in. In the words of Arnold, I'll be back

I just wish they would not call it Persian food becausr unlike Persian food, this restaurant's foods are tasteless or even have bad taste. Ghafghazi Kebab didn't taste as it should & smelled & tasted aweful. Please get a proper chef. I am glad that you're not selling Kobideh & Barg because they were aweful too. Only Zaytoon parvardeh & salad were good.

If you want delicious authentic Iranian food cooked and served with pride and passion then go to Pomegranate. The mirza ghassemi (smoked aubergine) and herby bread starter was second to none. The mains of gormeh sabzi (tender lamb in rich herby sauce), zereshk polo (chicken in safron sauce with barberry rice) and bakhaali polo (lamb shank with broad bean and dill rice) were all mouth wateringly tasty and generous. The staff and service were highly efficient and friendly. We will definitely go to Pomegranate again at the first opportunity. Merci.

I really think I could eat at Pomegranate every single day! The food is divine, especially the lamb. I wanted to gatekeep this place but I implore everyone to go! You won’t be disappointed! Just be aware of your chosen payment method as they don’t take American Express!

We visited Pomegranate 3 years ago and the food was amazing, but this time I think that the food was not as good. Saying that, we only compare the fillet kebab, Ghafghazi kebab and rice, and not sure about other items in the menu. I like the restaurant atmosphere and the friendly staff that makes it a good place for a family weekend dinner.

Best meal out in a long time. The food was so authentic 😋 highly recommend the houmous, it was the best houmous I'd ever had! The king prawn starter was absolutely delicious, the sauce it was cooked it was mouth watering and so tender. The mains were equally as tasty. Service 2nd to none, lovely atmosphere, very clean. Going to go back soon and try more of the menu.

Great local place, lovely food and great service! Been there many times and it is always a great evening. I would suggest always making a reservation as its not a very large place and is always full particularly on the weekend.

Third time here and this place continues to amaze! Unbeatable food and brilliant value for money. Can’t go wrong!!!!

Lovely restaurant. Gheymeh was surprisingly amazing but Ghormesabzi, due to the lack of original vegetables, wasn't as good as other dishes. I have also tried Baghalipoli, and kebabs here, they were all tasty (guess Baghalipolo was not fresh). The salad beside the dish is not suggested, also there are ranges of wines and great wonderful tasty dough (iranian drink with youghurt).

Meal was nice. Good portion and tasty. Some of the dishes are somewhat bland but others are quite good. I strongly recommend the chicken with pomegranate sauce and the haloumi starter.

Delish! Lived in Didsbury for a few years but never visited until now...wish I'd come sooner!

I came here with a friend this evening. We booked a table for two and we were seated quickly in a cosy booth next to a radiator. It was lovely and the staff were extremely helpful, offering opinions and information to help us decide our orders. Drink prices were reasonable too with a glass of wine and gin and tonic (with thyme pieces in) costing just over £10. We ordered the Hummus starter, the bell pepper stuffed with Feta cheese starter, one of the Pomegranate chicken kebabs, and the zereshk polo for mains. The food arrived promptly and it was beautifully cooked, full of flavour, with very tender chicken pieces. We finished with the baghlava and bastani for dessert. Every course was gorgeous! Very impressed and will 100% be visiting again. Thank you x

This is my go-to place when it comes to Middle-Eastern cuisine. When you're craving palestinian food, you need to visit this place! Great choices, homely portions, and the hummus!!! 😍 One of the best halal spots in Didsbury-hop off the tram and pay them a visit.

As always, great, hot meal delivered to your door. Our favourite Ghafghazi and Jojeh Kebabs, stuffed peppers, prawns and hommus. Very tasty and healthy (salad option).

Arrived there late and still seated us and let us have food despite the restaurant closing in 30 minutes time. Aubergine dish out of this world and the lamb shank was unbelievably good. Nice location and very friendly staff! Totally recommend.

Highly recommend this authentic Persian restaurant, hidden away in West Didsbury. I really appreciated the plastic screens between tables (visited mid Jan 2021). The pomegranate mixed kebab was beautifully marinated, and the morghe alouie was a new dish to me but delicious. Kookoo was really great too.
