A great lunch at an amazing location. The café has great COVID-19 measures in place including the QR code for scanning on the app, hand sanitiser and temperature checking.I sat outside on the terrace with a fantastic view of the sea. I had a local apple cider from Penzance and a ploughman’s salad for lunch. The ploughman’s included cheddar cheese, pickled onion, pickle, toasted baguette with butter, home-made coleslaw and assorted salad. The only way I would of improved it would have been to add porkpie or ham.

Stopped for a coffee and a quick bite whilst visiting the Lizard National Park. The menu is MASSIVE, and should suit all and everyone. We sat outside with great views over the coast line. The venue has good Covid protocols with the NHS app in use, temperature checks and hand sanitiser. The cream teas are a good size (2 scones per person); and the jacket potato with cottage cheese was enjoyable. Overall a great little stop with excellent views.

He was polite, helpful and deserves praise for his overall manner. Well done young man. While we only had the cream tea which was delicious, hot tasty coffee and fresh soft scones with loads of jam and cream. I must say however that the food we saw served to others looked equally as good, particularly the seafood. As a final comment, the location of the cafe is spectacular. Couldn’t fault it. Today we went back as a final treat before heading home and was so disappointed. We were given a table and menu as usual, people then who came after us were served first. Eventually our order was taken and it came out really quick. All of a sudden without a word from anyone to see if everything was ok or if we’d like anything else the bill was bought to the table and told how much it was with the card machine in hand. I hadn’t even finished!! After the lovely service last week to this! We had the fish medley which was simply amazing. If you are after a fish dish and aren’t sure which one to get then get this one! We ordered one to share but that’s where we went wrong as this dish was way too nice to be shared!! The fish was cooked to perfection and tasted so lovely it didn’t even need any condiments to accompany it, it was perfect on its own! We chose to have a salad garnish with sautéed potatoes along side the fish (you can choose your sides) and these were also so tasty. We wanted to order another once we had finished it was all so good! We couldn’t leave without sampling their Cornish cream tea which was also so yummy, their food really is top notch. One of the staff got all the fish mixed up when asked which was which and I had to ask the boss again. We all have to learn though! The kids had Cornish Pastie which went down well. However the battered fish was too heavy on the batter. The cream teas were to die for especially whilst watching the waves in the sunshine. We did go back for a full English a few days later. Again lovely food. If there was one improvement i would suggest a larger glass for the Apple Juice. My 17 year old felt like he had been given a toddler size glass for nearly £3.00. We’ve visited here twice this holiday and look forward to coming back one day. This is an unbelievably beautiful setting, especially in good weather as the sun goes down. The most important element though is Peter and his staff. This bright, kind and friendly grandfather works tirelessly to please his customers, running a super-efficient restaurant (modestly called Cafe) with very fresh fish within a varied menu. Children and dogs are welcome and the emphasis is on sitting outside in the summer. Despite being busy, it’s a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere with a happy feel. I’d eat here rather than some posh, fancy restaurant any day. This is a very special place.

We’ve visited this place a number of times and never been disappointed. A few things to note however, it has got really stunning views and an amazing position atop the cliffs looking down on to the old lifeboat station, it is billed as England’s most southerly cafe, it is in a tourist hotspot and it is not huge. You will be paying for all this so don’t expect it to be cheap and allow for it being busy.Having said that, the breakfasts we had were really good, well cooked and tasty and not at all greasy for a “full English”. Service was excellent, our waitress was delightful and efficient and kind to our children.Covid-19 precautions were in place but well administered and we saw loads of seals too!

We visited the Lizard just before sunset and stumbled over this lovely place. We were all set to go back to our tent for tea however we could not resist to eat in this lovely situated place. We had to queue for about 10 minutes to be seated but it was worth it. We were welcomed in and were seated in the most beautiful spot. The staff were very accommodating event though they were very busy. The menu was fantastic and the food we chose was quality too. Big portions of tasty food, we were definitely impressed. We would definitely visit again and recommend to others.

Lush food, view, service!! Despite the current restrictions, it's good to see that some things haven't changed. The welcome is as good as ever and the staff do everything in their power to make sure your visit is perfect. I'd come every day if I didn't live so far away.

Popped in with kids 3 and 6 for bfast/cream teas. Staff were really helpful and have the covid rules all sorted. Kids sausage chips and beans with added bacon were great and the cream teas were delicious. Nothing was too much trouble.

Varied and extensive menu. Lovely food & friendly staff. Amongst the best views in Britain. Covid aware, with customer temperature checks and tracking info on the way in, staff wearing masks and social distancing. The only downside is that the nearest public toilet is up the hill in the lighthouse car park.

No journey to The Lizard in Cornwall would be complete without a visit to the incomparable Polpeor Cafe, Britain's most southerly cafe. The service is exemplary, as is the extensive varied menu - fresh seafood - caught locally, often that morning, is a must. And the views from the cafe over the rocky coastline is breathtaking, as are the walks along the headland. I suggest booking , as this is very popular, and if the sun shines, request a table outside on the veranda - you won't be disappointed!

We returned to Polpeor cafe again this year and it didn't disappoint. We had a meal one evening, a cream tea and a breakfast.... not all at the same time! The staff were very efficient following covid regulations, our temperature was taken and we gave our names and contact details. The food was fresh, hot and tasty and served with a smile. Peter was attentive and genuine, as were all the staff. A wonderful place to visit if you are ever on the Lizard. Thank you.

This is one of my favourite places to eat when I’m down in the lizard and despite it being a little different this year due to current circumstances I feel they’ve handled it really well! It’s well organised if your eating in you wait to have temp taken and details before your seated the staff are all super friendly and recommend fresh locally caught fish and shellfish and even if your not a fish fan there’s plenty on the menu to choose from that’s great quality and decent portions. We did two evenings and two lunchtimes whilst we were there the food was excellent each time and served really quick. They do take bookings and do take always to the views are fab.

We visited as an unannounced group of six and were immediately welcomed and seated. We ordered cream teas and doughnuts. The doughnuts were as big as our boys and the cream teams were equally massive and tasty. The service was excellent and very friendly. We also bought some steak pasties to take away and these were awesome! Overall great cafe and the prices were really reasonable.

We visited the cafe last week and managed to get a table on the terrace to watch the beautiful sunset. I think the last orders were 7pm. We had our temperature taken and our details given for Covid Track and Trace and was then shown to our table. We tried the Polgoon Cider and an ale which we hadn't had before overlooking the beautiful scenery. We were lucky to have seen 4 seals whilst on the Lizard which was lovely. The views are breathtaking. We chose the lobster which was caught that very morning by the owners son in law. It was well worth the £35. The others had various fish dishes with new potatoes and peas. Well worth the long walk for the view and sunset and delicious food.
