One of the managers, who has long hair tied in a ponytail, greats all customers with a good morning even at 5pm. When questioned on this he doesn't explain. He also has the annoying habit of calling customers 'pal' when they come to order at the bar. This is not very professional in a hospitality situation

Really enjoyed the food and service. Lovely surroundings and very pleasant waiter.

My husband, my daughter + I went for lunch today. We were served by Liam. My daughter is a vegan + only one option for vegans for mains which was a curry + she doesn't like spicy food so she just chose olives as a starter + beetroot aranci for mains(normally a starter) My husband + I chose from the lunch menu which is good value for £20. We don't eat meat so chose 1 soup + 1 aranci for a starter + for the mains chose the fish cakes. Liam surprised as all by memorising what we all had ordered. Great service from Liam + food was delicious. Highly recommended for friendly service + good food.

Great place and great atmosphere! thanks to the waitress Lily with great customer service and always with a smile on her face! Food was outstanding , Staff in general were amazing.

Not impressed. The staff were unhelpful and not very friendly at all. The food was priced way over normal pub food but that's what it was - very average but expensive!! The decor was nice and looked new. Won't be rushing back.

Lovely meal again and staff were superb, especially Madi who was lovely, friendly and a wonderful waitress.

Monday 25th March 2024..... We all said the same thing about The Plymouth Arms:: The best meal we've had in a long time,(We all had different meals and desert),.. and What a good find,,, and the Staff are so friendly and professional, Italia served us and was brilliant... it Rounded off a great day out at St Fagans museum with fabulous friends.. Plymouth Arms is less than five minutes drive from the museum, and ample parking around the back.. We shall definitely be back. X

Food and portions were good and service excellent

We went for lunch today for my son's birthday. Lovely atmosphere - very cosy and inviting. Menu had excellent choices to suit all tastes. The Moroccan Chicken skewer and Garlic Lamb skewer we very tasty and well presented. Large car park at the back. For a Tuesday lunchtime we were surprised to see how busy it was but once we had food we understood why. Staff very friendly. We will definitely be back.

Halloumi skewers we’re delicious and out waitress Maddie went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and satisfied.

Madi looked after us this evening, she was really friendly and attentive and went out of her way to ensure we had a really good dining experience.

We had a table booked for 5.30 and the service for food was slow. We opted for the three course Mother’s Day meal and we had our starters at 6.15 and our desserts at 7.45 just to you an idea of timings. It wasn’t overlie busy when we’re there either. I was disappointed in the beef we had as it was very fatty and the honeycomb dessert looked a lot nicer than it actually tasted. When we ordered drinks too the coke I had was flat, it was replaced which was great but it was just another thing that went wrong. I feel like following our visit I won’t be in a rush to return.

Great pub, always get great service from the staff, especially Hayley who goes above and beyond!

Lovely setting and ample parking, service was great. We felt the food lacked flavour and god knows why the gravy is in pots that small. Not my favourite meal but certainly priced well for the portion size.

Came for a drink and some food with my family, everything was great! I was served by Hayley who took such good care of us all and she was great with the kids! Lovely beer garden. Will be returning again and again!

As we have just moved to Wales this was our first date night out. Our Meal was delicious, great service- requested table near fire and was not disappointed! Very happy and can’t wait to visit regularly!

Came at today for a Friday lunch with colleagues. We had a selection of meals from across the menu all of which were cooked to perfection. Our server (brunette lady with a bun) was extremely helpful and enthusiastic, she even left us a cute note on the bill. Excellent parking available at the rear.

Been coming to rhe Plymmouth for over 30+ years and love the fact i now can take my family here. The staff are amazing, the food excellent and Atmosphere Chilled. 10/10 keep it up be back soon

Just moved in to the village and had a wonderful welcome from Hayley and the team . Really good food had the king prawns then fillet steak and fish and chips all cooked well and drinks were perfect Very happy to have the Plymouth as our new local . And the pavlova was incredible

Fantastic place. Food was amazing and the staff were super helpful and friendly. Nicely decorated and we felt right at home - dog friendly too which meant we could bring the pooches whilst we ate.

Met a friend for lunch on Wednesday. Found the meal to be ok for the price. Was served by the plump lady who was extremely pleasant despite being clearly very busy. All In All a lovely experience just a shame we had to wait so long for food, I understand it was busy but would assume the staff in the kitchen would be enough to account for their bookings.

We had our Valentine’s dinner here and the food was superb. The service was very good and the atmosphere was very nice and cozy. Personally loved the cute fireplace and the not too loud background music. Definitely recommend.

"Place to Go 'n eat" when around the Museum of Welsh life. Very good Lunch Menü incl. "of the day". Huge parking in back (don't forget to Register). Cozy interior incl. Bar and (all day) fireplace. - Famous sunday roast recommend by "the locals" - which we couldn't try. Service expected to be better than our 3* rating - BUS_y day ;( !Almost forgot to mention the lovely Beergarden in the back - of course for better days only;) (See Pics)

Extremely overpriced for what it was. Sunday lunch arrived lukewarm, the potatoes were not fresh but frozen and the carrots were so undercooked I couldn't get my knife through it. Tight on gravy too. I didn't complain as we were there for a family members birthday but the prices are unbelievable for the quality of the food. £7.75 for a sticky toffee pudding and got 4 bites from it. I wouldn't recommend and won't be visiting again which is a shame as the staff were kind and the setting is lovely. We also weren't asked if anyone had any allergies, and they out parsley on the cauliflower cheese which wasn't mentioned on the menu and I absolutely deteste parsley.

The food was decent but not worth the price. The puddings were good though the crumble was burnt on top. It was busy when we went so it might explain a few things. The young lad who served us didn't seem to be trying and didn't look too happy. The table we sat at was in the corner in a small room it was nice and away from people. It was a good place to meet up with family.

May be we choose the wrong day to visit as a quiz was being held in the main bar 7.45 on a Tuesday evening. The staff were brilliant, helpful and friendly but goodness knows what was happening in the kitchen as all 6 of our party were served with not very warm main courses. The plates were warmer than the food. We immediately commented to the waitress who said she would get someone but 6 to 8 minutes later we had to attract another waitress attention who then took immediate action to replace all our meals. Fair play to her. The quality of the food was not up to the price so we will not be returning but as always make your own mind up this may have been a one off.

No where to sit just for a drink however plenty of tables in restaurant that we could have been offered and just explain that we would have to vacate if needed , we only popped in for 1 drink and a pkt crisps so after their facial expressions we left . We met up with relations to have a meal before the Christmas festivities. We were sat at a great location in front of a roaring fire. The service was excellent considering how busy they were. The food was delicious. The only downside was a live act that started playing halfway way through our meal, this was too loud and prevented any further conversation. However, we do intend returning.

The service was great and the food was lovely. The staff even recognised that our sons plate would be too hot and changed it before giving it to him. The portion sizes are very large which is nice but definitely do not need 2 courses.

Lovely brunette lady(30s or early 40s) behind the bar was friendly , helpful and attentive throughout, found us a better table in the bar despite our original table still being occupied by late stayers …. kept us updated despite clearly a busy day! Top service top food . Wanted to thank the bar lady before leaving as she’d been so helpful and lovely with the children in our party but had left for the day , she had clearly a lot to deal with and still she had made the afternoon for us

We went las Sunday to have some food, was nice atmosphere and our first time there. We when to order to the till and when I ask to don't have the ginger dressing for my salad put something else instead because I can't have ginger, the manager told me they can't because they are too busy..... Unrealistic to be honest. Then when our food come to the table one of the plates was pie come with a tiny jug of gravy when we ask for a bit more they told us we need to pay for it!!!! For a bit of gravy?? Unbelievable. Put the price up (even it's a bit expensive) and give a decent portion of gravy that costs you pennies. First experience there and last for us.

Dreadful service - booked a table for 7pm for festive menu. only one person serving behind bar nearly all starters and main meals not available. one steak left which was stone cold even tho manager tried to reassure that it had just come off the grill! pork belly - no sauce left! no fish left how on earth can you run out of food knowing that a table was booked in and it was only 7pm and place appeared half empty.

The food was delicious and our steaks were cooked to perfection. Everything was first class and the service was excellent. Our waitress, Maddie, couldn’t do enough for us and explained everything when we queried anything. The festive menu was delightful and the T-bone steaks were stunning. The Christmas decorations throughout were beautiful and the atmosphere was warm and cosy. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Look forward to coming again very soon.

The food only got 4 stars, although it was excellent, but the turkey festive mains just had far too much on the plate, so no room for desserts, and none of us could finish the turkey mains. We would come again however

Food was delicious. Prices have gone up. The brisket sandwich was £12 but it was very tasty and therefore the price didn’t seem too bad. The building has always look lovely.

I visited the Plymouth Arms yesterday, with a special needs couple, we ordered the festive menu 3 courses. I must say that the food was outstanding, and so was the service. There was plenty to eat, it was hot and fresh. A special thankyou to maddie, who was soooo nice, helpful. She made our visit a joy. Thankyou so much.

Beautiful food and great service

It's the best Sunday roast I've ever had.. I went for the slow cooked pork belly, and it was absolutely delicious.. the meat was simply just melting in my mouth, the crackling was crispy, the Yorkshire pudding, potatoes, and vegetables were as good as you could expect from a proper restaurant. No complaints at all from me. Hubby had fillet sea bass and king prawns, served with baby potatoes, peas, broccoli, and a creamy white wine sauce and he was content with everything. Definitely will be my go-to place for Sunday roast.

Very disappointed. Delay for pre booked table long. Took ages to deliver ordered food, when it finally arrived it was almost cold. Lily the waitress was the only good thing about it. She was attentive and pleasant. The restaurant was chilly, almost uncomfortable.

Paid £20 for an overcooked, tough and chewy kebab that tasted like it had been reheated. I couldn't even get it off the skewer, it was so tough. The chips with it were nice, but did not justify a £20 price. Snuck in a service fee as well and carefully hid it. The servers were pleasant, which is the only reason this gets 2 stars. Used to love this place, but not anymore. Won't go back.

Lovely food at good prices and good service

Lovely food, very friendly staff. I love that it's dog friendly too. Duo of lamb is a good dish, but order extra veg.

The food was low quality compared to past experience. The service wasn’t at all attentive despite there only being 4 tables eating. We had to order drinks twice before eventually cancelling due to the delay as the waiters were standing around.

What a lovely pub so welcoming and comfortable. From the start we were looked after by the staff ...lovely quiet table beautifully set with glassware and cutlery. Our waiter was so attentive (I'm so sorry I didn't get his name) and really made sure one of our group who is dairy and gluten intolerant was really cared for. Meals were amazing...freshly cooked and good portion sizes. We were never under pressure to order or leave. Highly recommend

Everything perfect. Celebrating my 86th birthday. Great atmosphere, food and drink. Piers looked after us from a cheery welcome to a friendly welcome back on leaving. I especially recommend the chicken pie.

The food here is one of the best I have had for a long time. The service was faultless and all at an affordable price. Will certainly be revisiting in the near future.

I am from Cardiff and lived quite close to the area and have visited hundreds of times over the years....I was being visited by family from the south of england and thought it be ideal to take them to The Plymouth....food, as usual was excellent and the service outstanding...my guests had a wonderful evening as I am quite knowledgable about the history of the area so they were enthralled....all in all a great visit

Good food but poor service. Ordered our second drink from the bar ourselves as wait was so long. Had to ask for cutlery and napkins as dessert brought out without any. Went to get menus ourselves as asked for them for desserts never arrived.

The staff were lovely but the food was really disappointing. It took really long for the food to come out but just assumed it was busy as it looked it. But the food itself was not great. Potatoes looked aneamic, very little gravy and meat, but the carrots were disgusting. If it wasn’t so expensive, I wouldn’t mind but couldn’t believe that’s what you were serving at that price. I had a roast dinner.
