Planet Bollywood in Stoke-on-Trent

Thanks so much for looking after us all tonight. We were a party of 19 celebrating my son’s 25th birthday. The food was absolutely delicious and service second to none. They even organised our helium balloons and decorated our table. I have been going here for about 20+ years and not once have i ever had a bad meal or bad experience. Certainly the best curry house in Stoke. Thanks again and can’t wait for our next visit!

To be honest I'm upset, expected better. No complain about service or time they have taken. But unfortunately the food was undercooked and excessive food colour used I believe.

We started our evening meal with poppadoms and the 4 dish compliments, we then had Bollywood special starters which were excellent. For our main meal I had lamb and chicken Karahi with pilau rice and garlic naan, my wife had lamb tikka masala with pilau rice and half of the garlic naan. All our meals were exceptional.

Went with work friends it was lovely food Pleasant staff Went above and beyond Not very busy for a Tuesday but we had a great night

Came up from London and this restaurant was recommended to us. We cannot fault it at all. The food was amazing and cooked to perfection. One of us had the Prawn Korai and the prawns were massive with great flavour. The other had the Lamb Tikka Massala and the lamb was soft and flavoursome. Prices were very reasonable. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will be popping in again before we travel home. If you are in Stoke then definitely pop in and have some food here.

first time going to bollywood and we wont be going again. The Food is tasteless and seemed watered down ? We supposed to of had a lamb balti and a prawn balti, it was more like a supermarket ready meal with a a few bits of lamb and prawn throne in . Best thing about it was the popadom and garlic naan which any restaurant can serve up. Personaly i wouldnt recommend the place , theres a lot better . Also why is the balti yellow in colour resembling korma ?

One of the best restaurants we’ve ever visited absolutely marvellous! Staff were incredible so welcoming and kind, the food was out of this world one of the best we’ve ever tasted so much flavour in just one dish. Could not put a single fault in anything from the moment we entered, have never met such friendly staff before helped us with everything that we needed and ensured we got given everything we had asked as well as making special requirements for our daughter as she has allergies. Would 100% recommend coming here and bringing the family will become regular customers! :)

Wanted to go for a while so we took a friend but we were not happy. We booked a table for upstairs and got there at 7pm and were told to sit and wait for a table . A group of men came in at the same time and had NOT booked but were taken straight upstairs . I explained that I wanted mild and my friends like spice, they had sat us downstairs ! and it was cold in there. We ordered and he was really pushy and before we knew we were having popadoms When the meal came he said to my friend check I have given you the right one she had ordered chicken balti and I had lamb. I tried mine and it was much too spicy so we swapped she told me I would not have been able to eat the one she had. We looked at both and were sure they were both chicken so I called the waiter and the boss came and insisted my friends was lamb but it wasn’t we are in our 60’s and know the difference but he still charged us for lamb. We usually go there from work but never again.

Can't blame the restaurant for obnoxious customers, but music a little loud. Hard to have a conversation. Food was great though and staff very nice and helpful

Amazing Service, gorgeous food too

Service was fine....food was good...only problem was 5 pieces chicken in both meals. Fair enough it was 11-30 when we went into the restaurant but still not good enough. Irrespective of the time the meals should be the same. Poor effort on their part.....have always thought that this restaurant was good .

Visited this evening. Never ever again. Onion Bhaji starter looked like they were bought in , over spiced. Mains, well, chicken Malayan was utter garbage, flavourless, never had a Malayan with no flavour at all. Tasted husband tikka Massala and it tasted exactly the same! Could not wait to leave, hubby was bitterly disappointed as was I. £50 for a load of tosh!

Waiters were very good,made you feel welcome. The food tasted good but was served as hot as an mcdonalds apple pie. Take the skin off the roof of your mouth. Not spice heat in case you think why have an Indian if you don't like spice. The price of the food is very reasonable. One real downside was that the tables were so sticky that you didn't want to touch them.

Fantastic meal served by a man who was very polite we popped in after work really good food and service 100 Reccomend. I love curry myself and one of the best ive ever had which actually means a lot. Very good highly reccomend. I had balti and mushroom balti madrass hot like nectar 👌

First visit, lovely Indian food with great atmosphere. Staff were attentive to our needs and were happy to split the bill at the end of the night. Food was hot, and quick to arrive on a busy night. Parking available at the back of the restaurant, couple of £ for a few hours. Thanks!

Been here several times now and it never fails. Food is really good and staff are amazing. If your too full ask them to box it up. Definate recommend if you want a great curry 🍛

We visited on a Saturday night for our Christmas work do and had a fantastic time. The food was fresh, hot & delicious. We were looked after wonderfully by all the staff who were attentive and friendly. Extra points as we were a larger, slightly tipsy, very disorganised party and they were so patient and helpful with us! Several of us have said we will definitely be back to eat again as the food was so good and the atmosphere & service were great.

We visited here last night for our works crimbo meal, 10/12/2022, staff were great even shared a bit of banter, comfortable atmosphere, and food was top notch, enjoyed by all will defo be booking again, can tell why its so busy, worth a visit if u enjoy nice fresh tasting food.Well done team bollywood x

Never thought I’d be posting this I’ve always loved this place for food been going for years. We came last night a party of 9 and we sat upstairs. My husband has woken with sickness this morning and other family members are not well either. We can only assume this was from the curry house. The service was really slow, staff seems few and far between. There was about 5 flys upstairs and the music was turned on too loud. We informed the staff and we noticed the member of staff swatting them. We asked to move but there was no seats free downstairs we were told. Unfortunately this was all too much. We won’t be returning to this place. It’s definitely gone down hill over the years. I used to love the curry here.

I came last night as a party of 9 for my 30th birthday and overall had an awful experience. The service was slow, forgetting we were there we had to keep going downstairs anytime we wanted anything. There were lots of flies and it just had a general grubby feel. More than half of the party have ended up unwell today, the ones worse off were the ones who had the tikka massala. We will never come back.

We have been to Planet Bollywood with our family many times for our curry meals because the food and service is excellent.

Booked in advance, on arrival you are always made feel welcome buy everyone, staff always polite and friendly, Even though it was very busy our Order was taken and food arrived at the table in good time, fresh, hot and plenty in the bowl also tasted amazing, if your not sure what to choose Taz will give you advice and adapt your order to suite your taste. The food is OK, service is OK, not the best but not the worse

We booked in advance. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Each course was delicious and we would have no hesitation recommending this restaurant.

The staff are super friendly and have a laugh and conversation with you. Give you plenty of time to choose your meals. The food is super tasty and plentiful. I don't do really spicy so what I had was super tasty. Took our own drinks and they matched their glasses to the drinks we took with us. Loved the after eight mints at the end.

OMG cant believe the quality of this curry house, the staff are friendly and attentive, the prices are reasonable, the quality of the food is top notch. The garlic naan is addictive and we had to have two. The curries can be ordered at the strength you want, and you can ask for something that isn't on the menu and they will make it for you. Worth a visit and im sure you will go back again and again. We had a wonderful evening.

Visited recently. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food was good, tasted nice and reasonably priced too. Parking available around the back in a carpark or outside at designated hours.

I'm not a massive balti fan but bollywood is the best of the baltis. I enjoyed trying my friends baltis but I had a barbecue sizzler (lamb tikka, kofta, chk tikka, tandoori chk, mushrooms, onions) which comes with any small curry and salad 😋 Staff are very good, very attentive to what you want and make sure everything is as good as you expect. Job well done and consistently so 👍

A spot on curry, advice from knowledgeable staff and made by fantastic chefs! I told the waiter what type of curry that I enjoy and he soon advised me of what to have as well as adding extras into it that I enjoy- such as peppers. The popadoms were fresh and crispy, followed by the sizzling hot, perfectly cooked curry with just the right amount of spice that was asked for! After frequently visiting other curry houses in the area, I will definitely be revisiting this one.

I paid me first vist here on Friday for a family party and must say they were fantastic , very friendly staff and the food was delicious I will most definitely return in future and probably make this my regular curry house to visit xx

Went with some friends from work, the staff here very absolutely lovely, very friendly and even offered a bit of banter. The food was awesome, I had the king prawn balti with a keemer naan and I polished it off. They also allow you to bring your own alcohol to the venue also. Cannot fault the venue and the staff in the slightest. 5 stars.

Never been before, and 5 of us arrived just before closing, but they sat us down and cooked up one of the best curries I've had in a long time. Will definitely go again.

Had a lovely meal again tonight for my birthday, the guys here really do go above and beyond to make everyone welcome and check that your happy with your food, we were running a little late with our booking but it wasn't a problem for them, food as always was delicious, only the 3rd time I've been after so many recommendations but can't fault them, will always come back thanks again for a lovely evening

This place is amazing the curries are gorgeous we both ad a medium curry which was slightly hotter than we thought , Taz was fab he came to us asking if everything was ok , we just mentioned the curries were slightly hot so he bought us some yogurt out lovely guy i would recommend to have them mild if u dont like them too hot , but thats us we dont like hot curries , nan bread , rice and chips we could not fault and the portion size of the curries are fab.

The Decor is clean and modern, the staff welcoming, friendly and efficient and the food was thoroughly enjoyed by our party of 14. I especially enjoyed my spinach, mushroom and lental Balti, mushroom Pilau and peshwari nan. Thanks

Visited on 04/02/22 for my birthday meal, there were 20 of us. We pre booked our table a couple of weeks before and the restaurant contacted us the night before to check that all our arrangements were staying the same. I have to say the service was fab, friendly staff who were very attentive and informative. Every single member of our party thoroughly enjoyed their meal, they were all served around the same time which is quite a great achievement considering the number in our party!! So thanks again to all the staff for our delicious food and just a generally lovely atmosphere. You made my birthday perfect, thanks. x

Ordered a takeaway/ delivery tonight Arrived much earlier than expected, everything piping hot, lovely delivery driver. We had a shami kebab, homemade and not overly salty as others often are, tarka dhaal, very spicy which was perfect, aloo spinach which was fabulously smoky, boiled rice, perfectly cooked, a keema nan with garlic, possibly the best nan ever, good quality and plentiful lamb/ really garlicky, and a mincemeat balti , madras strength, absolutely amazing/ the flavours were incredible. THE BEST Indian takeaway that we have had! Can't wait to order again! Many thanks

Cracking food great prices what more could you ask for

Ordered a takeaway at 18:41 with a waiting time of up-to 80 minutes, which I would agree is acceptable for a Saturday night but by 20:45 over 2 hours later I contacted the restaurant to question why my order was so late, was advised that were very busy but it was being packed and would be with me soon, a further 45 minutes later 21:45 it turned up with cold fries and an average chicken curry. When will these restaurants start being honest with their customers and provide you with a realistic delivery time so you can make an informed decision as to whether you still want to order with in my case turned out to be a near 3 hour wait. Needless to say I don't recommend and will not use again.

Great service from when we arrived to when we left. Attentive, got everything right. We were a table of 10 and everything came out together. There were orders that were not on the menu and they were catered for no problem. Food was lovely. We receive such poor service these days, this was a refreshing change. Thankyou.

Went here last night with the family. This is now our favourite curry house in the area, you are always made very welcome, and the food is excellent. We had a wide variation of dishes, from lamb to chicken and mixed Sizzlers, all were faultless and very tasty. Looking forward to our next visit.

Best curry for a long time!!! We called last minute to see if we could get a table on a Saturday night and they managed to squeeze us in. Staff were super friendly and food was lovely. It was the first time we had eaten here and it definitely won't be the last.

Always a super evening at this venue, Food is amazing. I'm not able to tolerate really spicy curries etc. So, they make a dish that I can have, delicious 😋 we take our own drinks and have such a good time.

Delicious authentic food ! They could improve on cleanliness ( table we were going to be sat at needed a wipe down first) .We were sat right by the door which closed with a big "bang"every time someone used it ! But that didn't put us off as food was worth it,as I mentioned above.Hope they will take feedback on board and improve their service.

Terrible service, ordered food told up to 80 minutes max, rang at 85 minutes and 95 minutes and told 5 minutes max, it arrived 5 minutes under 2 hours after ordering, wouldn’t order again

Online Ordering was easy, staff were friendly, but food was not up to a good curry in my opinion. i have not had an onion bhaji that resembled a hash brown before nor was there much flavour to the curry itself. maybe this is due to the pandemic and getting supplies. but wont be going again

No. Just No. I'm not sure how this place is running and all the locals seem to know not to go here. Majority of the food was tasteless and likely bought in bulk and reheated. E.g. onion bhaji was the shape of a frozen hash brown.

Valentines day We had a delivery on valentines day the food was lovely I had chicken karahi the flavours were out of this world, the Nan breads are to die for will be ordering again.

Ordered here on a very busy Saturday night before Valentines day, I can't imagine how busy it must have been but this did not affect the quality! It was more than worth the wait, the food was so fresh and full of flavour I could not stop eating. Amazing food and very friendly staff when ordering, can't wait to order from here again

Nowhere else offers Indian food like Planet Bollywood, the flavours and variety of cuisine is excellent and Taz and the staff are welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. During this trying time, the take aways are delish and remind me of what I'm missing not being able to visit my favourite restaurant. If you love Indian food, this is the one for you.

The food here is amazing. I had a takeout and when I went home it was still warm and fantastic. The person on the phone was excellent. recommended me a medium curry that I loved. I will try this again.
