My first restaurant in London and I loooved it! The food was pretty good and the waiters were really nice! I recommend 100%

Please bring back the panna cotta!!!!

About as good a pizza as you're going to get in London, especially at that price point. As a consequence, it's nearly always busy, so I recommend booking ahead.

Short man at the door think he’s the boss so rude walked in to ask for a table was shimmed out so he could let his friend out should have know from there we should have left. Calamari was chewy and cold lasagna was cold in the middle had to send it bk then when it came bk it was over cooked and was like mush. Carbonara was nice not the best I’ve had will differently not be coming bk spoilt my whole birthday.

The epitome of an "it's nice, not amazing" place. I've been here 3 times, most recently April 2024, and always had the same feeling. Pizzas are really big and quite good. Not as good as some of the smaller places nearby, but bigger and more aggressively/generously cheesed. Pastas and mains likewise quite good. The place is huge and generally pretty busy. There are lots of staff but it can still be chaotic. The quality of ingredients and cooking could be a little better, for example the olives on their pizzas are tasteless, pre-pitted black olives. For 20p more in ingredient costs they could be using something much nicer. The pizza dough is also a little on the heavy side. A higher hydration would give an airier pizza. The cooking is generally fine, but not great. Vitello Milanese can be a little undercooked, pizzas a tad soggy in the centre, pastas oily, vegetables not given sufficient care or attention. It's a place I'd contentedly walk into if I was nearby but wouldn't set out to come to otherwise.

Been coming to Papagonies from day one when they opened. Was my regular when I lived in Victoria Rd. All the family love it.. A1.

We had Anna looking after us last night for my daughter’s 18th birthday family dinner. Everything was wonderful and Anna’s service made the night . Thanks Anna and the team at Pappagones.

Food and service is normally really good but, toilets are from a bus station, also there is lots of areas around that has a clear lack of cleaning like the ice cream area.

I’ve been going here for a few years now and it’s become by far my favourite Italian place in London. The staff is always very friendly (and Italian lol), the food is always top notch and it just feels like very cozy. I can’t recommend it enough. Thank you James for always looking after me and my guests.

Food here is great and the prices are really reasonable. It gets busy so need to book. Quite warm and a bit noisy when I went, but obviously popular for a reason.

Been there twice. Tried both pasta and pizza. Pizza is very good but pasta is the absolute go to! The atmosphere is alright but not impressed personally. The good thing is that it feels more local. The service is good and quick but not very friendly at times. Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend this place for a nice dinner

Still good guys but looking tired. Feels a little bit like delivery is better business. A row of delivery table is no the best welcome when coming for a meal. We’ve lived in Finsbury Park for over 20 years and you were always the best. Don’t let it slip!

We've been ordering multiple times from this establishment for years through Uber Eats, but recently, their customer service has been appalling. Food items have been missing, they have taken away the Pappa Pancakes desert which had been there for years and have increased prices on select dishes. This is unacceptable. We are customers as well even if we do delivery exclusively. WE'RE DONE!

I’ve visited a few times now and each time the food has been superb. Pasta and pizza are equally as good and I’m not sure you’d be disappointed by anything on the menu. House wine was surprisingly lovely on my last visit and prices are reasonable. Atmosphere is much more raucous (in a good way) in the evening. Multo bene

The management was rude and disrespectful. And the staff did nothing about our complaints. We went on a Sunday afternoon, and except for one employee (washing dishes) it was very rude service.

Superb restaurant! Pizzas are huge and delicious, wide range of choices, staff are super friendly. The front of house have me a tip on when to visit Italy, lovely guy. The tiramisu was splendid and a lovely size.

Been consistently going to Pappagone since 2015 and had many celebrations there with friends. It's always been a lovely experience, the food is delicious with great service and the standard has never changed. Most of the staff as remained the same over the years, which is rare in London restaurants so that says a lot! (To those who say it's noisy, it's a busy Italian restaurant, people are enjoying themselves. To the others complaining about cold food deliveries, you get that from other restaurants too, 99% of the time that's the driver's fault having other deliveries on the way.)

Like being in an Italian restaurant in the middle of the South of Italy but it's in Finsbury Park in London. Food is great, pizza and pasta are done well, wood fired and al dente, the right taste for what you want. They get the food out fast and they are good with kids, patience is appreciated! It's noisy so you are not really in the place to have a cosy evening with your loved one but it's a great place for groups and I've only ever been here with groups of people so it does the job.

Always a great experience! Busy, bustling and really really Italian. Portions are gigantic and tasty. I love their Paccheri salsiccia e piselli.

We make sure to visit every time we come to London. Delicious food and a vibrant, bubbly atmosphere. Can be quite noisy at times but all adds to the fun!

Had lunch on Valentine's day 2024. Food was exceptional and staff very, very good. Will be going back and would recommend to anybody in the area wanting a tasty lunch.

A lovely, lively, vibrant place to eat. Everything is cooked fresh, so you have to wait a little while. That being said, food is always piping hot and quite delicious. Staff are very friendly and work very hard.

This review is only for the amazing Tiramisu I had after enjoying some good pizzas. Wish I had taken a pic to add here but the Tiramisu was one of the best I have ever had… not kidding, I have had Tiramisus at some popular London Italian outlets but this one simply beats them all! It was so fresh, with the right balance of sweet and liquor base and served chilled. Simply loved it!!!

Did not have a good experience here at all. Booked a table until 7pm for my nephews birthday, and from the minute we arrived the service was subpar. The waiter who greeted us at the door very rudely did not say hello or anything of the sort, we were greeted with a very abrupt ‘name?’. Then, despite having the table until 7pm we were being rushed from about 6.30pm to finish our food and get out. I understand needing to keep to booking times but with 30 mins left of the reservation, there is NO need to be rushing us, especially when we are paying for the service and food? Food was also only average, so will not be returning and certainly would not recommend for a birthday or anything of the sort.

Delicious, super authentic italian restaurant. Can get very busy so pre-booking is advised but their homemade tiramisu is absolutely exceptional!

Worse place to eat, worse customer service. After spending over £150 on food. We didn’t receive all the correct food and things arrrived damaged and inedible. The so “person in charge” was extremely rude and cursed me in Italian which for his loss I understand. The minimum is to treat customers nicely. Not exempt themselves for their error on not sending the correct food and not packing properly. DEF not eating here ever again and do not recommend at all.

Very busy on a Sunday with lots of happy customers enjoying their food. Service was swift and our food arrived promptly. My calzone was very good with a lot of filling. We left feeling satisfied and full. You can see why this place is so popular as it's also very good value . Highly recommended

Hadn't been here for a couple of years. Went yesterday and was very saddened to see how down hill its gone. As soon as you get in, you're not welcomed with " enjoy your meal". It's your table is 18:30 to 19:30. Which never happened before, making it less of a dining out experience, and more of a fast food restaurant! Moving on, the toilets!! Disgusting. The smell and dirtiness of the women's toilet shocked me. I couldn't get out fast enough! They need to refubish the toilets! The bar is now just tables for take away foods, with drivers just turning up constantly to collect the food. The ambience of this restaurant has disappeared sadly.

A great time was had by everyone 61-1yrs. Loads of food, large starters and great mains, some even managed a pudding 👍🏼 The staff even sang happy birthday and let us bring a cake, lit the candles and clapped. An excellent meal 😋

Pizza arrived cold and same as pasta.. advertised as a Napoleon fluffy crusted pizza but certainly not, crust was chewy, cold and hard. Gutted after reading the reviews, had much higher expectations..

You must go to Pizzeria Pappagone at least once in your life. Humanity is present. And terrific value for money. Big friends of mine.

Been coming here for years with my family always good

We ordered food from here which arrived with the toppings in a second box and not even on the pizza. So three margerita's came when we ordered three pizza's with topping on. Plus they were expensive pizza's, very disappointed. The pizza's also arrived cold and the vegetarian pizza had no vegetables on it. So I will wait for your apology for messing up the order.

The best pizza outside of Italy

Pizzeria pappagones is the perfect local pizza place. This authentic pizzeria is amazing in terms of both food and service. The typical Margherita pizza is outstanding-light and crisp on the crust and soft on the inside. The waiters and waitresses are friendly and kind and you really feel comfortable (not to mention the wood fire oven).

Atmosphere is very Mediterranean- there is a nice buzz of multiple people speaking which makes brings a nice cosy vibe.

Usually busy and packed with the only downside was the door kept opening for guests to come in and out and the cold weather rushing into making the staying and eating time unpleasant!

The food is seriously amazing—flavors on point. 🍝👌 But gotta be real, the staff's vibe could use a boost. Sometimes it feels like they're in their own world. Still, if you're all about delicious Italian eats, it's worth a shot! 🍕😊

Absolutely the worst service, servers did not know what they are doing and long wait times for food

Authentic, delicious, welcoming, chaotic, friendly and generally great. Reassuringly hasn't changed and still my favourite Italian restaurant in London. I have moved across the city but it's still worth a trip back just for a meal.

Recently went with a few friends to eat here and the food and the staff were mostly great, however they have an issue with trying to rush people out/confusing people's timings for the tables and I saw it happen to two tables that night. I get they are busy and some of the staff apologised, but it left a bitter aftertaste to what would've bee a decent meal otherwise.

A local favourite. Excellent pizza, great service and a local iconic restaurant in the area. I can highly recommend the Pizza Parmagiana/Pizza La Danielle and the bruschetta.

What an amazing place. It wasn't just the food was delicious, possibly the best pizza I've had outside of Naples, but also the staff were amazing. Someone, I assume the owner, struck up a conversation with me, in Italian, while I was waiting for my table and it felt like we had personal service for the rest of the evening. It's 8 years since we last visited ( no longer in the area) and booked for a special birthday (16 of us for lunch). It hasn't changed at all - even recognised some staff. It continues to be the best Italian restaurant. Our guests who had not been before thought the same.

What a treat! Very good food, very good portions (be careful with ordering, we hot an extra dish for the middle, definitely too much). The calzone was very tasty, cheezy and full of goodness. Gnocchi was also very good, simple tomato/basil sause that coated everything nicely. Good value for money as well. Only downside was the very busy space (too many tables, was far too noisy), but happy to go back for the food!

I went yesterday for a quick luch, was all fine until I receive the pizza. Was horrific and stinky… once I complain to the manager I left after I eaten 2 slice. All night vomiting I don’t really recommended it.

Guys, not sure what is happening.. we were used to order take away pizza every week with you, then we stopped for a while, started again and all the last 3 time we have noticed the ingredients have become terrible.. the ham, is not prosciutto cotto but more the smoked German ham that Lidl sell, salame Milano that tastes like death, friarielli extremely oily, but like to get sick.. and all the time there is one ingredients that we paid extra missing.. we won't order anymore unfortunately, you can try to sell this to anyone, not to Italians.

Great place for a birthday celebration.

Food was absolutely amazing. I came there for my mums birthday party and they brought out the cake we brought and sang happy birthday. Full of people and a really nice vybe. Will go again for sure!

I came several times to order from here, and the pizzas are really good, but I ordered a Vegetarian pizza and I've asked to swap the cheese for a vegan one (I thought was the same price) but I've charged an extra of £5 for it!!!! I asked for a refund of it once I realised, and I decided to purchase the vegetarian one. You should update the menu and add vegan options. Also the stuff there is quite rude, I felt a lot of pressure and drama between the employees, the manager got a nasty and arrogant attitude, probably they are working under pressure or they are not please working there, but it's not my business; the cashier one lady with blue braids was very nice, but everyone else gave me the impression that my presence bothered them. Not sure if I will come back, are better restaurants that offered a better service.

I had tortelloni with mushrooms and truffle, I hadn't finished a full plate when I started to feel sick. Then, 30 minutes later, I was vomiting in the bag on the tube on the way home. I do not recommend this dish. I should not have paid for this. Waiters inpatient. I wish I tried Tiramisu and had a positive experience. I didn't get the chance as we were rushed to pay and leave.
