We visited during the pandemic. Covid measures were very thorough giving a good sense of confidenceService was effective and welcoming-enough. Food was all enjoyed and delivered at an appropriate speedThe menu was a little disappointing. Many pizza options focussed on chilli and there seemed to be fewer traditional options. We had hoped for a good zesty lemon dessert but none available

We visited on just the second day the restaurant had reopened for since March and were very impressed with the Covid measures in place. Extra tables had been placed at the end of each table to provide a socially distanced space for staff to put down/pick up plates without having to lean over you and staff were very friendly and aware of the social distancing requirement. The food itself was excellent as always although there was a slightly reduced menu due to availability issues with suppliers. Also, single use paper menus were available and payment could be made by contactless card so there was no requirement to use the app to view the menu, order or pay if you did not want to. Also impressed by the increase in the range of beers!

Visited earlier today. Ordered the vegan calzone, it looked great when it arrived at table, but the middle wasn't hot. Staff were apologetic and took it back. Second one was the same. Third try and it was piping hot and a lovely golden colour. It tasted very nice! Manager checked back with me and I thanked her for the effort to get it right. I ordered coffee and carrot cake. No compensation was offered. I was late for my appointment because of the delay in cooking the calzone thoroughly, so that the centre was piping hot.The dessert menu is limited if you're vegan,or trying vegan options. Otherwise a good experience, eventually!

A busy evening in the restaurant but no excuse for such poor service and unfriendly staff. Really disappointing. We had to wait well over an hour for our food and no one came to check on us, (apart from to tell us the chefs were stressed!) no offer of more drinks or offer any kind of service.

We queued to be told by the girl that was doing front of house that the place was fully booked, I asked if I could leave my number so she could call me if there was a table cancelled, as I had tesco vouchers to use up. She let in the people behind us in queue that hadn't booked!!! We went to the nearest watering hole. Awaiting a call from her. After over a hour, we decided to see if we could book on line. Which we did. When we went back she pulled a face. The place was about a third full. I asked her why she hadn't phoned? No apology. We sat down and she asked to see my vouchers on my phone, I said I will show you when we have had our food. Very snotty towards us. We are in our fifties, food and waiter was good. Just her attitude!!!

Booked a table online, turned up and were seated very quickly. Our drinks orders and main orders were taken and drinks came over quickly. The starters also came in good time. That’s pretty much when the issues started. The sharing doughballs were ordered, they came and were different sizes. Some ‘normal’ and some looked like baby doughballs! The majority also looked like they had been left in the oven a bit too long. The mains arrived after we had finished our starters, but BEFORE the plates had been removed from the starters. They had also run out of coleslaw at 3pm in the afternoon. We had 2 kids pizzas and 3 ‘adult’ pizzas. The kids pizzas came and were different sizes the larger child’s pizza was the same size as one of the adults pizzas! We queried this and was told it was due to the base being different (classic vs Romano). My pizza was the Padana Romano, the onion looked past it’s best and I barely had any normal cheese let alone goats cheese. The majority of the topping was spinach which was placed on in large clumps. My husbands was similar regarding lack of cheese (and burnt in places) and both pizzas seemed like that may have been standing a while as they weren’t exactly hot when they got to us and cooled down really quick so that by the last 1/2 - 1/4 of the pizza was pretty cool. The waiting service was good (other then not clearing away the starter plates first) and they were all pleasant and polite. But to be honest after the mains issues we weren’t too fussed about deserts and only stayed as the little ones had desert included in the price. Not local but probably wouldn’t return to this particular Pizza Express. Also there’s no parking at the restaurant itself but is a (pay on exit) multi story car park almost next door. Took just a few minutes to walk.

We went to PE for a birthday meal and free bottle of wine. Very easy to book on line. Big spacious warm premises. Swift service by polite and professional young staff. Contrary to the government's belief, 'waiting on' is not unskilled - just poorly paid (although Jamie reassured us all staff get the tips if added on by card) the only problem with a high ceilinged place with wooden floors is that it makes for cavernous echo and noise. We were sat next to the coffee machine and cutlery trays both of which can be very noisy when staff are doing their stuff. We asked if we could move before our food arrived and it was no trouble at all - no raised eyebrows or eyes rolled to the ceiling as our waiter helped us move! Yummy pizza and a decent decaff cappuccino (a rare thing in this country) + affogato. High quality loos! We have always had a good experience here we're not regulars but we have nothing negative to say.

Experienced possibly the worst service ever at this restaurant. After several attempts at trying to get our bill correct, we were then over charged. After trying to patiently point this out to two members of staff a manager then was involved. She was extremely rude and virtually threw money, by way of a ‘ refund’ at me with no apology. It was a disgusting attitude, caused great embarrassment and quite frankly ruined what should have been a lovely evening with my family. Management clearly need further customer service training and when to apologise if something is clearly their fault. I will be taking this further. So disappointed.

Excellent service, friendly staff despite it being busy. Food was good and arrived quickly. Next to a car park which is helpful.

Awful service, it took over 3 hours to eat a 3 course meal. Waiting staff were shocking and did not bother with us, did not get offered another drink. Why would you go back with service like this!

This is a true replication of Pizza Express - Good quality food and service! I would first like to thank Karla for serving us last. Ugh, truly professional and had a nice time having a hat sigh her too! service was VERY fast and recommended some great dishes - not a stranger to Pizza Express I already knew what I was going to order. I highly recommend this branch and special thanks to Karla, great staff should be recognised :)

Held my daughters 6th birthday party today and everything was perfect. From Karen phoning me in the morning checking on the final numbers to set up the tables, to the table set up, the games, the service was outstanding. The pizza making was wonderful - rolling out the dough, putting on the toppings and then they are numbered and get put in the oven. They have dough balls, unlimited squash and then ice cream to finish. They were also given a certificate, balloon and sticker. Cannot fault anything and would recommend in a heartbeat.

Having tries PizzaExpress in Durham and being deeply dissapointed with the entire experience I had no intention of visiting another one again.

We collected to take back to our hotel and service was quick, food tasty, staff friendly and polite and generous portions for the sides.

We visited Saturday evening whilst staying at the local Premier Inn. Besides ourselves there were only 2 other couples dining so we were slightly out numbered by the staff.

Service was effective and efficient. Menu recently updated and a number of interesting options. Food was fresh, enjoyed and generous-enough. The restaurant is rather cavernous and lacking in atmosphere but this does mean it is not particularly noisy.

We had a lovely evening at the Belgrade Plaza Pizza Express. We were a group of 24 and had pre-ordered our meals. The staff could not have been more efficient and helpful. The food was very good and despite the numbers, it all arrived together, hot and was obviously freshly cooked. I'm not sure how they managed us so well! Thank you very much.

We came here as Zizzi couldn’t fit us in and we fancied a pizza. The menu doesn’t seem to change an awful lot, over the years I have been eating with Pizza Express.

I took my daughter and grandson here for a meal, before going to the Belgrade Theatre, which is close by. I thought that the meal, choice, service and location were all good. We enjoyed our meal, which is freshly cooked. The waitress was pleasant and efficient. I would visit again.

I was visiting Coventry on business, and ended up dining here twice. Both times the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more efficient. The pizza comes straight from the oven, obviously - so fresh, so well cooked. It's such a relief when restaurants get it right, and I ended up feeling really lucky to be at my table.

Had to send back 3 lots of cutlery because it was dirty and a wine glass with a lipstick mark not my colour either! The pizza lacked topping and was expensive (£15) for what it was. The drinks are expensive. Staff were friendly and attentive. Doubt I would eat here again.

had a 25% voucher had 2 set meals and one childs meal , was told I couldn't use the voucher with the set meal, so I asked to use it for the childs meal as stated on the voucher , was told they couldn't split the bill, pizza was dry , it looked like the tomato topping had been painted on with a brush, very little cheese and spicy beef ? could hardly find it , very poor for a £13 plus pizza, the desserts are prepared by the waiting staff, one girl with long hair was constantly flicking it over her shoulders , then touching the desserts, other staff had waited on tables clearing away dirty dishes glasses etc then straight over to prepare desserts, without any form of washing hands, complete lack of hygiene, over priced poor food poor hygiene and a poor attitude. never again.

The pizza was OK, nothing special but the price of £15 was over the top. Glass of white wine £8.95, this is not a cheap pre theatre place to go. Foods OK but prices are unreasonable

No faults will return. Food came in a timely manner server by friendly efficient staff. Had a lovely lotus biscuit cheesecake to finish.

Having ordered a pizza with extra chicken (4 strands of chicken costing and extra £5) and a lasagne that had been microwaved to death - this cost £35. Disgusting price for very poor food, will not be going again....

As is usual with most of this chain service was hardly express but I suppose if you want your food freshly cooked (as far as a fast food restaurant can do) you have to wait.

Expensive and your paying for not great service and okish food

I’ve been there few times now and I need to admit that my partner loves your Pollo Forza pizza on Romana base. Every single time he is ordering the same pizza and every single time it is tasty. I like it too but it’s a bit too spicy for me. Usually food is good there. But I need to say that On this occasion I have ordered Bolognese and I didn’t like it. It was served with penne pasta and there was almost no meat. And some weird spice was added to it which I didn’t liked. I am bolognese lover so I have the comparison from other restaurants and in here I just didn’t like it.

Reluctantly went again (friend wanted to not walk too far) and was consistently disappointed. Pizza was bordering on the cold side as staff didn’t bring it when it was prepared. They were very mean with the topping. My friends pizza was tiny. I’m sure he didn’t order a child’s pizza! Conclusion: poor service, poor quality and not worth what we paid. I’ve heard of shrinkflation but this is crapflation! I hope the current manager loses their franchise so perhaps someone who actually wants to provide decent food can make a success of it. Sadly, I will never go back to find out.

I walked into the restaurant to find it empty. I was shouting for about 5 minutes and nobody was coming I walked outside to find the manager on the phone who didn't bat an eyelid when she saw a customer was in the restaurant alone not being seen to. A waitress then came and I smiled and jovially said I'd been waiting 5 minutes she must've taken this as me having a dig and said she had only been gone for 2 minutes and rolled her eyes and gave me a dirty look. The manager walked through the restaurant still on the phone. the blonde waitress told me that my food would be done in 10 minutes yet a chef wasn't in the kitchen. overall terrible customer service. The food was nice though

Visited here mid week after work. I expected it to be quiet but busier than i expected which I was glad about as we want to keep big chains in Coventry and not see anymore businesses close.

Went in here for an early family meal so we were the only table for a while. I’ve been in those situations elsewhere and it can be a bit awkward, but the service was absolutely excellent and the food (as always in Pizza Express) was good.

We were given a free meal when we took out our house insurance with the bank. We didn't expect it to be so good. We were shown to a table and given a menu by Matthew, who was polite and knowledgeable about the menu. Although not cheap it was well worth the money. We had to wait for our meal but it was prepared on order so no problem. When it arrived it was beautifully cooked and well presented. Matthew came back and asked if everything was OK and seemed genuinely pleased that we were happy with everything. We will definitely be going back. Many thanks to Matthew and the chef.

My wife and I visited pizza express Belgrade plaza this evening. The food and service were fantastic, our waiter Mathew was so helpful, as this was our first time at this restaurant we did need help! Thank you Mathew and Chef for a wonderful meal. We will return again very soon.

Came here for a quick meal after a busy day outdoorsy daughters birthday. Dough ball starter was average. Our pizza arrived cold! My daughter's pizza was tasty but she had nearly finished by the time we were given our second (this time hot!) pizza. Puddings were ordered separately, however staff were aware of this from the beginning but still bought ours out first, followed by my daughter's over 10 minutes later (with no candle or birthday mention even though we had asked staff to do this twice). Service generally was very slow.

Always loved this Pizza Express. Service was great, as was the food. Usually only go when there is an offer on.

A su crédito, Leigh, tacaño excelente y hablaba con el director. Decidieron dar un 50% de descuento muy generoso de nuestra cuenta lo que era de agradecer. Esta no es la primera vez que sucedió este gas, pero probablemente será la última, basta. Este restaurante está al lado de Café Rouge y Bella Italia y a una corta distancia a pie de la barrio restaurante ', así que se vaya a otro sitio. Sólo para ser justos cuando la comida no venga fue excelente y muy sabroso. Nuestra camarera era muy profesional. El director era educado y reconoció el pobre servicio timewise y dio un descuento. Todo lo que queríamos era nuestra comida a tiempo.

Pizza Express is one of our regular go-to restaurants and the food here was fine, hence the 3 star rating. However, the service was so incredibly slow on this particular visit, that it totally ruined our experience. There were delays of 20 to 30 minutes at every stage of ordering and although our waiter kept apologising, it was immensely frustrating. What made it worse, is that other people around us seemed to get their orders taken and food delivered much faster than us. It was like we were forgotten. Simply not good enough and I shan't return any time soon.

We were going to the Belgrade to see a show on Wednesday Feb 7 th . Parking in the Belgrade Plaza car park is perfect for both the theatre and PizzExpress where we were gong to have a meal . Just a few paces from both . We didn't book as it is a quiet day but may be advisable if it is a Saturday or a holiday . Lots of choice of Pizzas and other Pasta type meals My son had Romana Campana and I had RomanoPollo Forza followed by Honeycomb slice which was delicious . We also had Cappuccino and fresh orange juice .The total bill was £51.65 but as I had Tesco vouchers I only had to pay £10.10 for the drinks as they are not covered by vouchers .

We took our three granddaughters here for dinner after the excellent Cinderella at the Belgrade Theatre. Our girls had the three course childrens menu which was very good value for money while my husband and I each had the mozzarella salad for starter and then I had the goats cheese pizza and he had the pollo pesto. All the food was good and served in a timely manner by our lovely Spanish server. This restaurant is better than the one that is closest to our home -Giltbrook Nottingham.

We had an excellent family meal here on New Year's Eve. Lovely food and pleasant staff. We often use supermarket vouchers to eat here.

We needed a speedy pre-theatre meal. Pizza Express lived up to their name. We were served in plenty of time. Although the restaurant was quite busy the kitchen had no backlog. Pizzas were good and, understandable, very fresh. The current menu is not as appealing (somehow) as previous ones, but maybe that's just a seasonal issue.

It's a nicely designed restaurant, close to the city centre, and looks pretty new. The menu was standard for the chain, but the quality good, and freshly prepared. The staff were OK without being that enthusiastic (it was fairly late in the evening mid-week). I...

Yo estaba encargada de organizar una cena de grupo para 27 personas en este restaurante. Siendo un grupo tan grande y un sábado por la noche nos esperaba que algún retraso en la comida, pero estábamos muy satisfechos con el servicio. Toda la comida llegó tan rápidamente, el personal era increíblemente amable y servicial y la comida era deliciosa. Muy recomendado!

Los cocineros son siempre muy atento y hacer el tipo de pizza que nos solicita. Los servidores son cortés y profesional. Me gustaría ver ofertas ofertas/quedado aunque ya que estas son normalmente sólo para las pizzas más básicos y rara vez para lo que pides....

Cuando vaya a Pizza express duda, esa es nuestra regla de pulgar. Me encanta la comida italiana y allí puedes encontrar auténticos sabores italianos.

Visited with my daughter and used Tesco vouchers for our meal. Really impressed with the service - both waiting staff and the chefs were very efficient and professional. We didn't have to wait for service at all - very smooth without feeling rushed. Food was delicious

I have reviewed this restaurant on a couple of occasions previously and as my wife and I were in Coventry again we headed to Pizza Express to have a late lunch. The same calamari, dough balls, tomato and mozzarella salad and American Romana pizza yielded the same superb results.Good service, good food, good ambience, good price. What's not to like?

Me and a couple of friends popped into this Pizza Express this last week to celebrate our handing in uni work. Feeling good and ready for our food our mood was bought down by our waiter, who did not listen to what we wanted to eat. They did not take any time to understand our order and did not bring out the dietary change that I asked for (which I had to ask another waiter for). One of our drinks came out wrong as well. They were generally just rude to us and I regret not talking to the manager about the situation.This is disappointing because the food was lovely and came out quick as we were starving!

Went with my Girlfriend. Nice Place, Rubbish Food. Would have been better off with getting a Frozen Pizza and Lasange from Iceland and bunging it in the Microwave. Overpriced Rubbish

On my own, wanted a convenient a quick place for a pizza - Pizza Express fits the bill. One hundred yards from the Premier Inn, it was the obvious place to go. With a tip of 10%, £22 pounds later, having had just a pizza and a beer - it is simply too expensive for what it is. In future I will look out for vouchers...Don't go here if you want a few drinks!Nice Calzone though...

Every time I am in Coventry I eat at Pizza Express with my wife because it is good quality eatery that is consistently good, The calamari is excellent, the tomato and Mozzarella salad is fresh and tastes great and you can't go wrong with the pizza's. I find the beverage choice somewhat limited however I am never anything other than satisfied. The staff are very good and the place is spotless.

Called in for lunch, but it's difficult to find as it can't be seen from the Belgrade Square. It's right round the back of Cafe Rouge & Bella Italia. Even when you're right on top of it there is nothing to indicate that it's there & I even thought at first that it was closed! It was lunch time, but I was the only customer, though a few others arrived as I was leaving.However, once inside, the waitress, a charming girl called Abi, was cheerful & friendly & a credit to the place! The food was delicious but I was surprised that it (cannelloni) was served on its own, with no bread to accompany it. How much more would it cost the restaurant to include a slice of ciabatta on the side to mop up the sauce? It's what I've always been served in other restaurants. Still, a good meal, good staff, so try it, always providing you can find it!

We regularly eat at the Belgrade Plaza Pizza Express in Coventry; it's obviously part of a chain, but we have never had a bad meal here. The staff are always friendly, courteous and helpful, and the modern decor and the open kitchen are very inviting. We ate there again last night and enjoyed a new starter, Risotto Fresco, which was a delightful starter containing peppered salmon fillet. Our pizzas, Padana and Fiorentina, were as always, well cooked, topped plentifully, and thoroughly enjoyed. A glass of Shiraz each, and we were well contented. An advantage of eating here now is that you can earn Avios points as well.

We went to pizza express on Sunday lunch and restaurant was full. I didn't expect that, and we even thought to go somewhere else, but we wanted to use our 25% voucher. Manager gave us a table straight away.Then our kids weren't sure what to order and lady, who I suppose was a manager, was very helpful and suggested them something what they really enjoyed in the end. She had a big party to look after, but never forgot about us and we had a service on a high level! I must say big thank you to the chef as well, as food was amazing and arrived just on time. We really enjoyed our visit and kids said that from now on we are going to pizza express only.

Visited here as a large group over lunch time. We all took advantage of our o2 priority deal and were impressed with the food. The food was quite quick and cooked well. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Excellent evening with family the food was very nice and the service excellent ,although the sweets took a while to arrive .Very modern area of Coventry and this pizza express fits perfectly there .We really had a Good night and didn't have to go far to be home as we were staying in a hotel near by ,no driving no taxi fares !!!

Cannot remember last time we had such a good meal out! Absolutely delicious! We had dough balls and garlic bread for starters. Pizzas (obviously) for mains. Everything was so so tasty, full of flavours. Eton mess cheesecake and honeycomb cheesecake for afters - recommended. Gorgeous. Very friendly service. Our toddler got an activity pack as well to keep her busy. Nice! We used a money off voucher but would be happy to pay the full price for our meals. So worth it! Highly recommended.

It's been a while since I've visited a pizza express, last time I was disappointed with the serious lack of toppings.This time was much better, I opted for the ham and mushroom classic with onions instead of the olives and also their popular garlic dough balls.The food was delicious and the service was fast, they were super quiet tho.I wasn't offered any other drinks or dessert during my visit but I was full anyway so it didn't matter too much.The only complaint is that I asked for iced water with no fruit, only for it to arrive full of lemon and nasty floaty bits. I really don't know what this country's obsession is with throwing fruit into a glass of water!This restaurant is right next door to the Belgrade plaza, premier inn and the orchards shopping centre. It's also within walking distance of the city centre shopping areas.

We were a very large work party (17) staying at the premier inn, so had booked a table here for dinner.It was all good, as you would expect, not great but good.Staff fine, restaurant and toilets clean....nothing more to say.

This a great place to celebrate and save money which is important to us all . It was my sons and my sisters birthday so I could treat them both using my Tesco vouchers .we spent £60 costing me just £15. ! We had dough balls to share for a starter and my son and I had Lasagne for the main course with a coleslaw salad . My sister had Pollo Arrabiata . We then had American cheesecake,Passionfruit mess and honeycomb tart all of which were very well presented. Everything was very tasty and plentiful . We had fresh orange drinks and coffee and water was on the table too . The staff were very pleasant and helpful making it a very pleasant experience . The restaurant was quite quiet . It is suitable for all ages and children especially enjoy pizza of course. . Parking was perfect for us as the Belgrade Plaza is right next door . It would be perfect for anyone visiting the Belgrade theatre before or after a show . Also just 2 mins walk into town . We also had a wheelchair person with us and they were well catered for. Toilets were clean and well accessible .

Having just checked in to the Premier Inn a stones throw away from this restaurant we decided to give it a try - there was plenty of tables left on one side of the restaurant but on walking through the door it was clear that they were understaffed and so could not facilitate any more people. We asked for a table for two and the woman who seemed to be the manager said she'd go and have a look and as she returned two people on the nearest table got up and left and so she said yes now I have one - we sat down but I was apprehensive as it was very near the door and bitterly cold outside but I was hoping the vestibule with two doors would keep most of the cold out - I was wrong. I tried to ignore it and I kept my jacket, my hat and my scarf on as well as draping my boyfriend's windproof professional hiking jacket over my lap and I was still shaking. Despite this I tried to ignore it but couldn't as it took the server at least 10 minutes to come over to even ask us what we would like to drink and by this time we had already decided what we wanted to eat. All the servers were clearly rushed off their feet but instead of focus on the customers they already had sitting down they kept going over to new customers and tried to keep them by saying the tables would open up shortly. We got our drinks relatively quickly which was nice and our starter which I hoped would heat me up but sadly I was still absolutely freezing so I grabbed the nearest waiter a teenage boy or young man and asked to move as I could see there were a few tables being cleared. He then told me that he couldn't move us right away as they needed to seat all the new customers. This is what I found unacceptable. Me - an already paying customer - coming after someone who has just walked in the door even when I explicitly said how absolutely freezing I was. I argued this point to the young man and he was not only rude but you could tell he couldn't care less about how cold I was all he was focused on was cramming more and more people in. I pushed the point as I was not willing to be shaking for the rest of my meal and we eventually got moved after they had seated a couple standing at the door and from then on I finally warmed up. Then came the main course. My boyfriend ordered the pizza and he enjoyed it which I was pleased with and I ordered the pasta and chicken but had asked for it with no chili. When it came it looked lovely and as I took my first bite the overwhelming sense of spicy heat burned my mouth and it was very painful. I cannot eat chili for this reason - burning physical pain. However I persevered and although the meal was slightly spicy it was nothing compared to my first bite so perhaps a few chili flakes got added before the chef remembered I didn't want any - or perhaps I'm just a big wimp who can't handle spice - ANYWAY - my main concern wasn't the spice. The meal was actually very tasty, but underneath the well presented food there were several pieces of pasta which were completely BLACK because they were so burnt. I was shocked - even I can't burn pasta it definitely takes skill to accomplish that! I still carried on and finished what I could whilst picking the burnt pieces and putting them to the side. When the waitress came over to ask if we were finished I quietly pointed out that some pieces were burnt so she could perhaps let the chef know so it wouldn't happen again and without apology or any empathy whatsoever she said okay I'll let the manager know. I said oh I just wanted to point it out so that customers who order the same thing won't get what I got, but she walked away and when she came back she didn't say a word she just placed the bill on the table - again - no apology that my food was burnt. The redeeming factor was that my pasta was taken off the bill but again she didn't explain this or apologise which I thought was quite poor customer service. We would've ordered desert if we had received better service and better food but we left quite disappointed. We have had really nice experiences in other pizza expresses but we won't be returning to this one sadly.

Like many people we find that combining Tesco vouchers with a trip to pizza express is a good way to get a great value meal. However when the vouchers code is not accepted even though it is valid - as later confirmed by Tesco - the experience is not so happy. It is worth knowing that you can phone Tesco up until 9:00pm if this happens to you and Tesco will give another code over the phone. It would be useful if pizza express staff also knew this and helped their customers do it. Instead we were left with a valid voucher they would not accept. Of course they blamed Tesco, Tesco later blamed them, suggesting they tried to enter the voucher twice at the till. Anyway, sort it out between you and restore some reasonable customer service please.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Coventry because it's reliable and the food is always fresh and tasty. It's one of the few restaurants in the city centre that I not only visit but also return to on a regular occasion. Am surprised about comments on service as we always receive great service as a couple.

Went here for dinner, it's in a handy location (especially if you're staying at the premier inn!). The staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was very tasty. A good pizza express experience. Would go again if in the area.

We had made a reservation for a family meal. the food was average, the service was dreadful. The restaurant was busy but I am not sure that was the reason for the poor service. The waitress was not very helpful and we had to keep asking where our food was. We asked for the 3 young children to be served first but that didn't work, the adult starters came before the childrens starters. There was a considerable delay in the starter plates etc being cleared and then the main courses arriving. Again we had to go and ask how long they would be. The waitress wasn't particularly interested and I had to ask a colleague of hers where our puddings were. She said that our waitress was preparing the childrens desserts but when the ice creams came they were practically melted. The only smile we got was when I paid the bill, presumably the waitress was hoping for a tip! We were very disappointed in the service and we won't be returning to this branch again!

Enjoyed a pizza from the new christmas menu. Had a spicy lamb pizza very nice it was too with some added chilli oil. We also had the new American hot which also was very good. Both on the Romana menu as we prefer the thin based pizza. Plenty of it and also helped that all the staff are very polite and helpfull

Even though this is just a standard pizza chain we had a lovely couple of hours here as the place was practically empty (about 3.30pm) and the staff were delightful. The food tasted fresh and tasty and even better it was next door to our hotel.

Although friendly service I had to actually find the people to take my order. Maybe because of the time (4pm) but you would expect they appreciate the business right? Nevertheless the food was really nice so thumbs up and enjoy! P.s. go for the cheese cake :-)

The worst restaraunt service I have ever received in all my 41 Years. Such bad service that it has forced me to write my first ever review.I went to dine with business clients. I Explained to the waiter Adam that we required separate bills as we would be leaving at different times in the evening and would require separate bills for claiming expenses and also we have both downloaded our own voucher codes. The order was taken only to be confronted shortly after by the duty manager Eve and waiter Adam to be told that we could not have separate bills. "They are short staffed and 2 bills are not allowed on one table..this would cause too much work for the staff" We then explained this was not acceptable and as protest to this we would sit on separate tables to which Eve replied you can, but on this occasion we will split the bill. What was to follow was the most horrifying service from Eve and Adam in a rather quite restaraunt at 5.45 on a Thursday evening. We were ignored for the remainder of our dining time. As if this was not bad enough we were made to wait for our drinks and then our food. The food came out but only one parties food came out. We questioned why this was and we were told because our order was on 2 bills hence we would get it separate yet we had placed the order together. We asked for the manager Eve to explain why we were unable to have 2 receipts 2 different orders and why we had to wait for half of the table to finish their meal before the others were given there's. We were told this was pizza express policy and there are many other customers nationwide and my custom was not that important to pizza express. I have never been so Insulted as I was by the duty manager Eve at pizza express Belgrade Coventry. A very poor pizza express. Very Bad service and a very unhygienic environment.

Visited here with our seven year old grand daughter on Saturday evening. The service was excellent and the pizzas very nice. It was spoiled somewhat by the main door not closing properly so that a cold breeze blew into the restaurant -it was quite windy outside.

Went here for Lunch with a friend and on entrance was greeted by a member of staff restaurant was not that busy so given a choice of seats starters and drinks and main course ordered and service was quick and when my pizza arrived it was a large one and i could not finish it so had to take it home but a great visit with good friendly service.

We often come to this branch of Pizza Express - despite it being a bit of a trek for us, it's one of the other half's favorite places to eat (which is tough, believe me!) so we drive over every couple of months. But now Cov seems to be getting decent restaurant chains to invest in the city (Wagamama, Los Iguanas and now Miller and Carters), I'm sure we'll be checking out a few other places! Anyway, we went about 8pm on Friday night, were sat straight away, had our drinks ordered and bought out quickly and ordered quickly. It was a bit alarming that the place was only half full, when Bella Italia and Cafe Rouge round the corner were full, with Pizza Express being out of view unless you walk around the corner, maybe people forget it's there?We ordered the dough balls sharing portion to start, which was great, coming with three really tasty dips (a tomato tapenade, garlic butter and pesto). Just enough to keep the tastebuds going, but not enough to fill - how a starter should be. We both had our normal pizzas, which were great, with a side of brocolini (cooked perfectly) and these new fluffy potato balls, which were basically crisp balls of mash. They were fine, but really quite boring with no seasoning or dip so just plain mash. Pizza Express pizza's really are delicious, my only issue is that the selection of toppings on the menu seem really old fashioned and boring, so I rarely stray from my usual. Our waitress was great, friendly and efficient. She told us that Pizza Express don't pass on card gratuities to their staff - sort it out Pizza Express, this is 2015!

We went here as we had a wedding reception the night before and were staying in the Premier Inn next door and couldn't be bothered to wander into town so came for lunch in a fairly large group. We were sitting outside, which was nice.The service started off well, we ordered drinks and had a voucher for 2 courses for £15 or something similar. The drinks came and this is where the madness began... Two of the party had to jet off fairly quickly, so they ordered first and we asked the waiting staff if their food could come out first... the staff took that as can we all have our starters and main courses all at the same time and so the starters arrived, we had barely taken a bite when pizza boards and salad bowls came over - needless to say, there was no space whatsoever on the already small tables. It was chaotic to say the least. In the meantime a few others from the wedding party the night before had come down to join us, and separately ordered their lunch on a separate tab. When the time came to ask for the bill, all hell broke loose and it was if the staff had never prepared a bill before - they couldn't keep track of what was paid and what wasn't and were demanding more money when everyone had paid and had their card receipts to prove it. The waiter then went on to moan about how he never got tips and was then totally racist in front of the other waiting staff and tables of customers; with regards to the usual clientele of the restaurant eluding to the fact that this is why he never got tips. Personally I think it is more to do with the poor to average service. The food was reliably fine but the service was so weird it would prevent me returning to this branch.

Our experience of the staff and the service was very good. They were friendly, quick and helpful. There was a bit of a mix up with one item we ordered and it was quickly brought to the table without charge. This was a big plus as my previous experience earlier in the year of the other Pizza Express in Coventry was poor in terms of service. My wife loves Pizza Express pizza'a because they are thin, appear to have nice toppings and remind her of the pizza's we have had in France on holiday. Personally I find them a little bland, and the choices don't seem to change that much. On this occassion I opted for Lasange and I must say it was very good. As usual we took the sting out of the prices with some vouchers, without vouchers value is questionable.

I wanted a pizza and went there as I like the spicy rectangular one they do. Also always enjoy the cheesy garlic bread starter- yes a bit of a cheese and bread overload. I found the staff very friendly and found my pizza was very well cooked. Not burnt but still crispy. The usual Pizza express warning holds. Make sure you look for a voucher and if a high cost for a beer will upset you and ruin your meal don't go.

Regularly pop in here with husband after work; or on our way to the brilliant Belgrade Theatre; easy to park, plenty of space inside and reliable comfort food. Of all the pizza chains, we think the Romana here is the best fast food - with changing seasonal toppings; I love the the Margherita Bufala. Always quick service and staff very friendly the manger is exceptionally good - smiling and engaging however busy.Great value particularly if you look out for vouchers.

Excellent service. Two course for £10 deal. Pizza was tasty, service was excellent. Got a few buy 1 main get one free codes at end of meal. Will definitely return to use them.

With plenty of seating at variety of types of tables and sizes the place accomidates groups of all sizes. There is background music but generally not too loud. There are courting charts and crayons for younger diners. Frequent get vouchers for diiscounts making the food better value for money. The location is close to the Belgrade theatre.

This restaurant is noisy by it's nature, with no soft furnishings to deaden the sound, which makes conversation quite difficult when it is busy, and doesn't provide much atmosphere. As part of a large chain it seems to run to a rigid formula with no real human side, so you feel more like a number being processed than a person. It also seemed a bit on the expensive side, particularly for the starters and alcoholic drinks.

Great service, background music not overloud. a little bit expensive, but the food was good! It was obviously very popular, so reserving might be a good idea!

Pizza Express is very clean inside, toilets are fresh and a low bowl for little lads is provided. The staff bought a pot of crayons and a small colouring-puzzle chart for my Grand daughter. I also noticed that a family arrived with a small child and a seat was provided and fitted to the seat by the staff. Excellent, very thoughtful. The service was good, the Orange Juice is REAL Orange, Very Tasty. Two adults and grandchild. 1 small child Pizza, 1 Margarita and a newly introduced "Ruchillo" I think it was. When I received the Ruchillo it was about 15 inches across with a thin base that wasn't quite cooked in the centre. Saying that it tasted nice, had fresh Basil & Rocket on it. We all enjoyed the meal and I would recommend a visit. 2 Orange Juice 1 Pepsi cola £31.25. Reasonable I thought. Large Car Park 50yards away.

Most pizza express' arent great, but this one was quiet and the staff were great, the pizzas were quite nice aswell

Standard pizza express fare, tasted good and the kids were very happy with their options. This trip was enhanced by the quality of the staff on duty, really friendly and professional in their approach, they even had the gumption to give an opinion! I prefer this restaurant to the smaller option in the city centre as it's better suited to families.

Always lives up to expectations. Good selection of dishes. Great pizza. Always new additions. Good prices.

My son and I dropped in late on Easter Sunday for a quick pizza. The city centre was quiet so there was no problem getting a table and parking is easy with the Belgrade Plaza car park next door. The three staff who met and waited on us were very friendly, attentive and helpful. Our main waiter, Tristan, was very thoughtful, friendly and had a great sense of humour, which made the visit most memorable!Although my son's pizza wasn't to his taste (VERY few places do his pizza how he likes it), my Pollo Forza pizza was very tasty and generous in size. The extra rocket side salad I ordered was just right. As ours was a quick visit, we didn't have time for dessert.Would we go back again? I certainly would, for both quality, quantity of the food as well as the great service.

Just saw the bad reviews and felt the need to pipe up in defence of the staff as we received excellent service yesterday... Bravo. Great food too! :)
