Such amazing service, promt, helpful and the food was beautiful as always!! Never had a disappointing meal from here - can't wait til you open back up!

Service and food was good. The meal was delicious and we noticed other customers enjoying their meals. My only concern was the cost was a bit expensive.

Covid 19 rule adherence good - felt safe/ Food great - only 2 dessert choices but mains and starters fab/service very friendly/ only 4 stars because the view & decor aren't great

We had a wonderful meal here. First time trying the vegan menu and we were so impressed by the mushroom starter and padana pizza. The food was quick and hot. Sania was so friendly and gave such good service. Would definitely return.

So this was my first time going to pizza express, the staff was super friendly and welcoming, the food was amazing, probably one of the best pizzas I've had in a while. The overall atmosphere was so fun and happy. You felt welcomed and I can't wait to return in the future.If your looking for a place to eat, I would recommend here.

Tasty dough balls, pizza and honeycomb cake for dessert. All very nice, I always have a sugar free drink which is a good option to have. We were seated quickly and food came promptly, the waitress was pleasant. Can I suggest side plates for the dough balls, there isn’t anywhere to put them after taking a bite! Reasonable cost too, would go back.

Beautiful pizza. There is no faulting the chefs! Having cooked in an Italian pizzeria I know a good pizza! Lovely. The hosts are very polite but oh so slow!!!!! Mostly faffing by the till. While we were waiting to give order there were 3 stood there chatting. And again once we had finished and were waiting to order dessert with empty plates in front of us. Poor. In all spent 20 minutes eating main and dessert combined and an hour waiting for service.

We had a great lunch today with our young family celebrating our first wedding anniversary. The staff were really friendly and efficient, and our food order was accurate, hot, really tasty without much of a wait. Our waitress Amy even acknowledged our anniversary with a 'Happy Anniversary' message written into our shared desert, a lovely touch! We've eaten here a few times and every time have had a great experience, so I'm sure we'll be back soon! Thanks again!

Visited Pizza Express at 1.45pm today with my wife and 3 children who were desperate fora pizza. Went inside to wait and were told it would be 45 minutes wait just for a table even though there were at least 5 empty tables in sight and no where near as busy as I have seen other Pizza Express restaurants in the past.If a restaurant chain of this size can’t do better than this, then there is no hope. Visited loads of Pizza Express restaurants over the years and even with queues out of the door, have never had to wait 45 minutes just to be seated. No attempt to offer a drink and Menu whilst we wait,etc. Obviously, we left and probably won’t return again out of principle.Need to do better !

Had pizza here after going to the cinema next door. The pizzas were thin crust and quite tasty, but nothing special. Service was friendly and prompt.

Sadly today we ate at pizza express and were disappointed. The food was not up to previous standards. The service was good, the staff pleasant, but the food was poor, the pizza base was not good. We have both eaten there before and had an enjoyable meal, in a good atmosphere for a chain restaurant, at a reasonable price. Sadly we won’t be returning.

I called to book a table early afternoon, for this evening. I was told on the phone that I wouldn’t be able to book a table, as there are only a certain number of tables booked out and the rest are kept for walk ins (as the tables able to be booked had already been booked out). I was assured that as there were only two of us, that it would be easy to get a table straightaway at 6:45. Upon walking in, we were told that they were completely full and would have no chance of a table. When I explained what had happened on the phone, I was basically called a liar and told that nobody would have said that! They definitely did and we travelled from Ammanford especially, so will never come back again. Awful treatment!

Nice decor and atmosphere here. We were warned on entry that there’d be a bit of a delayed service so that wasn’t a problem. Dough balls to share with dips as a starter. About £9. Looked at the offering and couldn’t help but imagine the mark up on this basic dish. A couple of romana pizzas in the order at around £15 a piece and some alcohol drinks over £6 a piece. All very nice to be fair but not really value for money from my perspective.

We had our treat here my husband had the flat bread with humous and I had the usual delicious dough balls with garlic butter! We both had the Carbonara pizza totally mouth watering! !! Highly recommended The Czech waitress is very friendly and welcoming!!

Visited here again after the cinema. Very friendly staff who provide a first class, hands on service. Very good menu choice with good quality food. Restaurant conveniently situated near the multi storey car park and cinema.

Had a delicious vegan pizza there the other day. The staff were very friendly and were always on hand if needed.

Emma or waitress was very good. Service was quick we had our food quickly. Even had free dough balls for completing an online survey.

I had a lovely visit here very quiet not sure if it’s just the town as I am not from around that area however the food I had was great. Slightly disappointing the food I originally ordered wasn’t available.

We had fir starters dough balls and bruchetta and pizza were very nice and service was very good. The restaurant was very clean.

Stopped for lunch with my daughter. We are both vegetarians and my daughter has coeliac disease. They catered for us really well. Service terribly slow as think only one waitress working. Waited 30 minutes for starters. A waiter brought us our bill and we hadn’t even had our main course yet! After an hour we left without food. Terrible

The welcome was ok, and the dough balls and garlic bread starter were good. My OH's pizza as you'd expect it, unfortunately my pollo penne and pesto came without the pollo. Not what you want at the end of a day out. The staff were apologetic and the bill was adjusted, but it was a disappointing meal.

We had a lovely meal at Pizza Express. The menu was varied and the salad option was delicious. The bread sticks served with the salad were freshly cooked and really good. My husband's pizza was really nice - well cooked and tasty. The staff are always extremely helpful and welcoming - nothing is too much trouble for them. The restaurant is spacious and clean and I would highly recommend a visit - you won't be disappointed. We also used our Meerkat meals app and had 2 for 1 on all courses - excellent value.

Proof that meals without meat can be ace - new Vegan Mezze pizza so tasty, so spicy and more than enough for anyone. Chef today was Pete (good job, Pete) and service by Emma was fantastic. Affogato's are always worth finishing with too.

This was one of the cleanest places we have ever eaten ,the food was spot on while the waitress was friendly and sociable

After watching the rugby in Cardiff we ate in Carmarthen because it’s on the way home. We were hungry, the service was friendly and we felt very welcome. After a short wait we were served lovely pizza. I had the jackfruit vegan pizza on Romana base, wow, what flavour, matched with a great pizza base, can’t beat it. Thanks for great service and food.

This is one of our favourites as a couple. Richard always makes us feel welcome and Olivia is awesome shame she only works holidays. Pete the chef is also top class

Very poor customer service, seated in a cramped and draughty seating area by the door. This was in December & it was freezing there! Very expensive with tiny portions! I personally feel pizza express is a rip off and very much over rated! Not for me. Wouldn’t waste my money there ever again in ANY pizza express.

Had a lovely pizza today, I'm vegetarian and my stepdaughter is vegan, we were both catered for 😁 excellent service from friendly and helpful staff. Bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Definitely worth another visit

After a really poor service and food experience in Cardiff we were given vouchers by the fantastic customer service team to come back to pizza express and try again. We have waited 6 month but finally descided to bite the bullit. I am so glad we did. We booked a table in Carmarthen for 19.30. First impressions count. A spotlessly clean restaurant and greeted by a friendly manager who showed us to our table. Service was fantastic and food to match. Brilliant eating experience with my little one having the 3 course meal for £7.20 and eatin the lot. What made this a five star experience was the manager interacted with my little lad calling him sir Total brilliance to the manager and team here we will definitely go back again and again

Me and my boyfriend booked a table and had food here as a treat. We had a lush time! Food was great (we had a starter and main), drinks were good and service was excellent. They were really busy but still we were well looked after. Thanks all!

The food was standard as always not great but nowhere near terrible, there is a lot of issues that show that pizza express has become comfortable of not lazy. This can be seen from the lipstick stains on many of the glasses to the water marks and unpolished across all of the glasses. That staff are varied in level one knows what she's doing although not many if any others seem to have a clue, I do understand that this can be because we were seen by a waitress clearly new to her roll but while she struggled to even make a coffee all other staff members would pass by without helping at all l. This system is broken if the staff worked together they could be much quicker and efficient.

We went to Pizza Express prior to the cinema. What appeared to be a customer approached us and we realised that he was staff, possibly the manager as he wasnt in uniform. He muttered something, we followed him and guessed where he wanted us to sit.

We’ve visited a few times now recently. It is usually quite busy but I’ve not noticed the service to be particularly slow as the other reviewers have mentioned. The food is always lovely, and we’ve been served by Gareth on the last few occasions who is chatty, down to earth and efficient. Couldn’t ask for more. Would definitely recommend ( especially the new carbonara pizza!)

Me and my family visited before going to the cinema recently, we went in on a quiet day, and when we arrived we asked for a table and the man who showed us to our seat said that because there is only 3 people on service would be slow, we had time so it didn't bother us. Both the waitress and the lady in the kitchen were putting in all the effort but the man that showed us to our seat did close to nothing, every time something needed to be done, he vanished, we sat surrounded by dirty tables, and he kept looking at them, and walked away. I work in the industry and I know how service works, you each pull the same weight, the poor girl on the floor was doing everything, and him nothing, I won't be going back, and I suggest you don't either, it's like they don't care about customers, and the girls who were working looked as annoyed as me about it. How can he work there, and earn a wage without doing any work.

We haven't been here for a while although we used to come quite often, the service was always very friendly and the food good. What a change! We visited on a weekday early afternoon, the place was quiet and it didn't seem to be understaffed. The service was chronically slow, the staff seemed to be moving everywhere in a trance, and the food was very average, the waiter apologised that they had no basil. No basil, in an Italian restaurant? Surely someone could have nipped down to Lidl. I was looking forward to the new affogato, but we didn't have several hours to spare to order it and have it served. Really poor and not good news as there are few decent places to eat in Carmarthen

We booked a table for 4.30pm today 27th August. When we reviewed it was very quiet but the man took a while to attend to us. The waiter that came to take our order was very good at his job but the others were very slow. We had to wait quite a while before our plates were cleared and then a long while and nobody came over with the dessert menu so I had to ask someone to come over for this. We were so disappointed. The last time i was there with my friend the service and everything was really good. But this time although the food was good the service was very lacking. Such a shame. Staff didn't seem to be working together as a team and it appeared some were working harder than others. .

Ok granted you don’t expect fine dining - however you do expect a meal to be prepared accordingly and service that at least demonstrates you are a paying customer.

Had lunch here last Thursday, the lady who served us was very pleasant and the pizzas we had were lovely but took a long time arriving at our table even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy.

Our visit to Pizza Express was okay! The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. The thing that was annoying was our pizza's were left on the top for a while going cold before a waitress came to bring them to us and then when we got them

We stopped here for a week day lunch when visiting Carmarthen. We'd not booked a table but this was no problem. Starters, Mains and Desserts were all excellent and the service was incredibly friendly, effiicient and fast. Made all the better by the 30% discount off the bill when our daughter showed her NUS card! Would highly recommend this branch.

This branch of Pizza Express scores right away for ambience as the main room is so light and spacious. The head waiter (or he may have been the manager) acknowledged us as soon as we entered and then we did not have long to wait before being shown to a table. Service was quick, efficient and friendly from our waiter and also the manager checked back to make sure all was well. A very good example from this reliable, popular chain.

We came here for dinner while on holiday to South Wales and we were very impressed! I believed I had been to the nicest Pizza Express yet in my hometown last year but I think the Carmarthen branch is an incredibly close second! it was the first time that we have brought our daughter with us and I have to say they were very polite with her and bought colouring, stickers etc. The food was good, the service was friendly; however we noticed were approached very quickly about ordering our drinks, and we just wanted to get ourselves and our daughter settled at the table so we asked for a moment to do this. We were then left waiting for almost 10 minutes just to order drinks, despite me looking over many times (probably even staring at times!) Though the staff were polite enough, the young lady and an older man were absolutely engrossed in a conversation, and were very clearly not keeping an eye out for us to signal we were ready to order. That aside, we very much enjoyed our visit!

Pros. Friendly service. Price once a discount code was applied. Cons: Slow service. Expensive drinks Ok: on balance the food. Mediocre starters, decent mains.

Impromptu visit whilst in Carmarthen. Sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine and atmosphere in the square. Good service even provided water for our dog. Good food too

Took my son here as a treat, staff were friendly and efficient. Didn’t have to wait too long for food and was told waiting time before sitting down. Food was excellent very tasty, would definitely recommend

Lunchtime visit. Dough balls to share and arancini starters were delivrd quickky and were fuĺ of tastiness. Three lovely pizzas, all of a very high high standard. Excellent service. Cool on a very hot Bank Holiday Monday.

Welcomed like family as always, food was excellent. We do tend to have the same thing to share between us, but they are always fine with that. Staff as always fully attentive to our needs.

We went for a family lunch after watching a film at the vue cinema. The food was good, the staff were friendly, but there were simply not enough of them. To be fair this is no different from the other restauarant chains being run by accountants, but I am not going back to spend over an hour and a half lunching.

Had a very nice family birthday meal here. Everyone's food was great. I had bruschetta starter then Diavlo thin crust pizza, both of which were very tasty.

Visited pizza express for a birthday treat .five adults and six children under ten years of age. Was greeted promptly and shown to table by staff .all the children given pens and booklets to draw in while us adults looked at the menu,s. The staff were excellent and made use feel at home. Great with the grandchildren .I was very surprised how nice the pollo chicken pizza tasted and really enjoyed the bruschetta starter. All of us really enjoyed the freshly cooked food no waste with the grandchildren (makes a change).

We visited this Pizza Express after spending the afternoon at The National Botanical Gardens which is not far from the Restaurant. Carmarthen is beautiful and it was nice to drive around and know it better!

Went for a Diablo with my wife who was waiting to go into labour, had a delicious pizza and the staff were top notch. The food was so good she gave birth to our son Wyn that night! Just went back for more and told them our good news and they VERY kindly have me my order for free, thanks to the team there we'll have very happy memories for Pizza Express Carmarthen!!! #pizzaexpressmoments

Came here with a group of 7 other people at the start of september. The dough balls were delicious, and every single pizza was cooked to perfection! Lovely staff and cheaper than expected! We all had a code to get a starter and a main for £10 - a complete bargain!

This is my 2nd review of Pizza Express, Carmarthen. Went here yesterday with my two daughters and we all had a thoroughly enjoyable lunch. The waiter was very friendly and efficient and the food was great! I had the superfoods salad which I opted for added chicken and by far this is my favourite dish! It was so delicious and also very filling so didn't need a dessert. My daughters had the calamari, dough balls and a pizza and they were also lovely and cooked to perfection. We will return again soon!

Myself and a few friends visited here last week for lunch..I have always had good service and good food and never had much to complain about,Until Now...The girl that served us just could not be bothered nor could she wait to hand us the bill,Which was fine by us,as all the food orders was wrong,My pizza was awful,cold,dry and wrong toppings,When this was pointed out again the I can not be bothered attitude came out,Both my other friends had again the wrong toppings but just carried on.I really don't think we will come back here again,which is a shame!

Visited the restaurant with 2 adults and 3 teen-agers. We ordered 4 pizzas and a pasta dish with two orders of fries (they were an alternative to fried potatoes which were delicious) and two puddings. With a round of drinks the bill was just over £100. Tasty, quality food and superb service. Pizzas are over priced but are excellent quality.

Had a great meal here today at lunch time restaurant was busy but we were well taken care of and the food was fantastic will definitely be back!

Went to Carmarthen Pizza Express on Sunday 20th August for my birthday with my wife and what a complete let down. The service was shocking. Firstly we were shown to a dirty table and left standing there for about 5 minutes until it was cleaned. Then after a lengthy wait I ordered a Malibu and Diet Coke, the waiter returned and said there was no Malibu. So I ordered a Archer's & Lemonade, again after a few minutes the waiter returned and said they had no Archer's. So I ordered a Bailey's with ice, only to be told that there was no ice as the machine was dirty! I gave up and we both ordered a Latte. When they arrived the waiter put them on the table & we had to ask for sugar, which he said he bring over. After watching him serve other people, I went to get the sugar myself. Upon drinking the Latte, they were both cold!! The staff had a really lazy, cannot be bothered attitude. This was the final straw so we got up, cancelled our food order and left. We are honestly not a fussy couple, but the service was the worst I have experienced in a long time.

Called in while shopping in Carmarthen, great meal as expected and the star rating is for the food.although a little disappointed with the staff member who met us at the door saying they had a 2 big groups in and we would be waiting up to an hour for food, looking at the restaurant it was only half full ?I get the feeling they don't like to be busy, and we didn't wait long at all for our meals.Thankfully not the normal PE service, but I can see this been damaging to business especially with all the competition in the same location.

Visited here with Wife and two teenage kids. My son is Vegan and heard about the new dairy free cheese in Pizza Express. He was very impressed with the new cheese. We all had excellently cooked tasty pizzas. Great helpful staff too.

Clean, well laid-out resteraunt. Service was very good and promptly delivered. The polenta chips were a nice surprise.

As usual when we are away we use our Tesco clubcard voucher's which quadruple at pizza express ,and for £10 of clubcard voucher's we had £40 to spend in pizza express .The kid's love this as we get to have plenty of pizza and dessert for only a few real pound's .Great service too our waiter sion could not have been more helpful .

We recently visited this restaurant and never fails to have a lovely meal here. All the staff were helpful and friendly & we were made to feel very welcome after a bad experience with another pizza express restaurant. We'll be back again soon and would recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here as we celebrated our sons 19th birthday. Food was fantastic and the service great. Lovely atmosphere in this well managed restaurant, so I'd just like to say thanks to all the staff.

First time in a pizza express but not the last the pizza was the best I have ever eaton it was also the thinest one which is what we wanted. The staff were so friendly and helpfull. The place was so clean and tidy, will deffinatley be back.

Called in with teenager before going to cinema (next door) and wasn't really expecting to find anything to eat for me as I am GF and Diary Free (and for added fun can't eat potatoes) So I was extremely surprised to find that they do a cheese free pizza, and available on GF base. I know this sounds far fetched but it was delicious, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Both of us had excellent meals, we had a fabulous waiter, Matt. The meals were faultless. I wasn't going to leave another review as I have previously reviewed this restaurant but my son was so impressed with the service and the food he has asked me to.

Booked after using the one in Cardiff Bay and this time took advantage of Tesco vouchers which made it fab value. We weren't disappointed, great staff, food is very well presented, pizzas fab, desserts amazing, great kids menu

Booked a table for my sons birthday outing, pizza and cinema.Efficient from the start, no trouble to put balloons out and make it a memorable experience for the 7 year olds.I have to be honest, a pizza chain is far from my first choice of a meal out, but I was so pleasantly surprised! All food really tasty and the service was amazing, the waitress (I'm sorry didn't get your name- red hair) was so friendly and really wanted us to have a good time. Literally could not do enough for us and anticipated our every need.Thank you for making it a perfect day!

We had lunch there today 15/03 it was first class good service and the food was very very good, special praise goes to the waiter from Newcastle, he is an asset to Pizza Express nothing was too much trouble, it was great to have a jug of iced water put on the table, with out even asking for it.

Thankfully booked a table here for my wife and I and two of our grandchildren. Restaurant was very busy but once again we received excellent service. Great food, thoroughly enjoyed. However I do find the seats very hard!

First time visiting here. Had a really enjoyable lunch, consisting of 3 different types of pizza all cooked to perfection. Service was excellent, jug of iced lemon water was immediately brought to the table on arrival without asking for it; which I thought was very considerate. Would have liked to seen some draught beers to choose from, as choice of bottled beer limited and expensive. Was also great to be offered various oils and parmazan to top the pizza. All in all very good!

I boarded the Pizza Express. Usually when I take the Express, it's because I want to get somewhere promptly, and with no disturbances. Alas, the trades description act was flagrantly ignored here. This train was an "all stops to Waterloo". Walked in at lunchtime today. 26 people (I'm sad, I counted) seated, some eating, some waiting to eat. After an unacceptable delay, a surly lady approached to seat us. "Really busy today, a table of 8 walked in. At least a 40 min wait" Every time I go here it's the same story. They make quick food, but they seem to think it's acceptable to make customers wait an age. It's like they can only start and finish one dish at a time. I understand that the evening menu might take a bit longer, and we have time for a drink and a chat. But lunchtime is about quick service. This place falls down on this count every time. The annoying thing is that this will never change.

Just brilliant... staff excellent again... lotsa help with an online Voucher... 2 courses for less than I normally pay for 1... 2X buffalo mozzarella tomato and pesto starters ...sloppy Giuseppe and an Americana to follow... wine and beer... lent change from £30.... what more do you want

I love this Pizza Express because although the food is their standard, which is always good, the staff are lovely. They're so easy going when you want to tweak a pizza or fuss with a voucher for a freebee. I hope they get paid well because they deserve it!!

Me, my wife and son visited the restaurant yesterday evening. As a vegan I find it sometimes awkward to eat out but there was plenty to chose from and the man who served us was brilliant as he double checked everything that may have contained non-vegan ingredients. It was also lovely to see my 4yr old son get treated so well.Will be visiting again.

Been to NZ, OZ and Hong Kong four 4 weeks and the very next day we're in our local Pizza Express. American hot and Pollo Pesto and loving it. We are just saying best Latte and food in comparison to our food and drinks away.Well done Carmarthen

We visited here for an evening meal. I can't eat gluten or dairy due to my coeliac disease. The staff were very helpful and arranged a suitable meal for me, they didn't make me feel like I'd put them out or been difficult. The service was very good and we had a 25% off voucher that we'd brought with us and they put that through for us with no problems. The whole visit was excellent.

A great restaurant. Quality food and service. Nice flatware, serviettes etc. Always a warm welcome and seems more of a local company not a big chain.Great for children birthday party's, adult party's or just a nice meal for two.I especially like the sharing platter for starter and a nice thin pizza with lots of Rocket Leaves

we went on a Tuesday just after the lunchtime rush and was surprised to find we were the only people eating there.the restaurant was very nice inside, wide aisles and a clean fresh modern appearance.the waitress that served us was very pleasant and our food was cooked to order and the appearance/taste of all we ate will make us return.

Always eat here when in Carmarthen. Good offers usually available and even if you pay standard price it's quite reasonable. Service is average, not poor and not great but your order is taken and your food arrives, pretty simple really.
