Pizza Express in Wandsworth

Arranged to meet family in London and this was a central venue (used here before) Although the place was quiet the service was not so good. Taste of food was okay but wrong orders arrived which spoils things if you are in a large group, we also spent a tidy sum but I didn't think overall it was VFM. Will look foremother venue next time.

Good pizza and helpful service.

Very bad service, bad quality food. No going to any pizza express never again. They are not professional at all, we spent more that 30 minutes to order, no one were coming even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. Then we spent almost 50 minutes to get served and food quality was horrible.

Bad experience, bad quality food, bad service.

Disappointed on this visit, although the manager did try to rectify but a little too late. Waited over an hour for food in a restaurant with at least 5 members of staff and only 4 tables in the whole restaurant. Two members of staff at entrance having their own conversations while one whi served us seemed to be doing all the work! Not the Pizza Express we know and love.

We came here for my boyfriend's birthday. The service was great and the food was delicious. The waitress was very efficient and customer-friendly. I had the vegan padana pizza on a classic base and I loved it. My boyfriend also loved his vegan giardiniera. As a vegan, I love that this place has a separate vegan menu. It makes choosing so much easier. We'll definitely be back here.

Went this afternoon on my own, was welcomed instantly with a smile at the door. The service was fast and friendly. Will recommend this branch to anyone. I would visit again. The standard and cleanliness of the restaurant was very good. I even used the app to pay. Very good. Pizza was delicious!

Absolute vile. Visited tonight with my two young kids and partner and they served us up a pizza cut in quarters on 2 plates. Both plates were inconsistent and one had pepper on it. We ordered a whole margarita and didn’t ask for it to be cut up. The staff kept looking over at us watching us eat it clearly giving us leftover pizza. I’ve complained but will never return here. Staff are always rude at this branch and always find my disabled child annoying because she has to be seated with her pram/wheelchair and they have to accommodate. Disgusting staff, no manners and health and safety issue to be feeding customers old food. Not kid friendly, not disabled friendly. Staff need training. Food is disgusting.

Don’t usually review but the staff were so great accommodating my toddler and his baby brother today. They all went above and beyond - especially the staff member who chased me down the street to return my son’s favourite book! Big thank you!

Having lived in Australia for 21 years I love coming back to London and going to pizza express. It never disappoints.

Why O Why can't you order extra Garlic on your Pizza. Come on Pizza Express I've been eating at your restaurants for over 40years and I'm now forced to bring in my own chopped garlic. What's this world coming too? Tonight I'm disappointed because at the last minute we decided on pizza but sadly haven't been home to prep my garlic. What options are available? Garlic butter and Garlic Oil. Not the same, Not the same.....

Had dinner there last night. Service was good but the pizza’s were awful. So thin they were basically see through and completely tasteless.

You can't go wrong with Pizza Express and the Clapham Junction restaurant is really great, food always delicious with fast and friendly service. The new App is certainly one of the best and the shift manager on duty on Sunday 12th November evening was brilliant, really helpful and took time to explain how to get the most benefit from the App.

I went here with my family, 7 adults and 2 children, fantastic service, staff were very accommodating, patient and helpful with kids menus and taking our order. Food was lovely, very impressed with everything as was a busy time of day. Hope to visit here again next time we are in the area.

Pizza Express Clapham Junction is a very good option for a Italian meal. The food is good, the service is friendly, the staff are friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is relaxed. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

Usually enjoy the food, been to the one near Edgware Road loads. This one, Not much of a welcome feeling and was put off by the manager. Being new to the rewards system I asked a question and honestly not going back to that particular branch anytime soon. Having others complain aswell for similar problems was the nail in the coffin to be honest. Re training in customer experience from entry to exit. Some background music to break up the silence.

Walked in, got seated, waited over 30 mins to order even a drink, got no service so then left. Maybe the food is good, but I’ve not got the time to find out.

I just finished one of the worst experience in hospitality. Me and 2 friends went to have dinner, everyone seemed polite and nice until when we received the wrong item and also we found a piece of plastic in our dish. After that we thought the bad experience was ended but apparently we were wrong. When we asked for the bill they charged us 30 pounds extra as they swapped bill with another table. Instead of giving a refund and charge us for the right amount the “manager” on shift didn’t do her job at all, she didn’t know how to do a refund and she had to call her superiors I guess.. anyway, she could not give us our money back and instead of trying to find a way to sort this out she run away hiding. We lost 2 trains as it took around forty minutes for them to find a solution. At one point this “manager” refused to give us the money back so the table who’s bill was given to us paid for our actual bill and gave us the difference in cash. Without those people we would have been scammed basically. And after all this awful situation this “manager” called me rude and said I was stressing her when I was simply trying to do her job and try to find a way to sort it out. People like this not only shouldn’t be in a management position, they shouldn’t work in hospitality in the first place. Thank you so much for the worst dinner of my life and thanks for ruining a nice evening. Honestly shocked by the way this lady talked to us, no respect and no manner.

Good pizza for a reasonable cost. Dough balls were an interesting twist on things, haven't had those before, they were good. Nothing extraordinary here, but good for a weekend dinner. :)

Had my daughter's pizza party here today and it was wonderful, staff fantastic and entertaining with the kids whilst demonstrating how to make the pizza. Waitress who dealt with us was great and very attentive, the service cannot be faulted. Kids loved it, very easy to book. Thank you to Barbara the manager.

Arranged a table of 14 with friends prior to a nearby dance. I got in touch beforehand to book the table and confirm menu options. Barbara the manager was the definition of helpful throughout, facilitated changing booking numbers and menu choices. When we arrived she and her team were helpful and pro-active, accommodating delays in a couple of party. They looked after us brilliantly, especially given there were two other large parties sitting next to us who also made demands. Excellent service and will come again!

Good service, the servers are friendly! Good food! We enjoyed sitting at a table next to the large windows. So comfortable eating the pizza and drinking nice coffee!

VEGANS OR ANY OTHER DIETARY REQUIREMENTS AVOID I would recommend anyone avoid to be honest because this place is dangerous. I ordered food from the vegan menu and confirmed with the staff that it definitely was vegan as I have an extreme intolerance to dairy, plus it’d be a trigger for my ulcerative colitis. As I haven’t consumed dairy in years I wasn’t aware I was until my sister said she thought she could smell (dairy) cheese. We summoned the waitress who served us and asked, and she sniggered when informing us it was dairy cheese, even beckoning over the chef and saying to him “she ate the cheese” which caused them both to smirk and find amusing. This was a vile prank which in other circumstances could prove fatal. I immediately attempted to induce a vomit, without success, and then an ambulance was called when I collapsed. I was taken away because my observations were abnormal and had become very unwell. Because I refused to pay for an expert medical report Pizza Express refused to accept any liability. It’s worrisome that this venue isn’t uncommon for hosting children’s parties, and with so many intolerances and allergies around these days it’s only a matter of time before one of their in house pranks results in a more severe adverse event than that I experienced. I attempted to resolve this amicably with Pizza Express to no avail. If this were an isolated event which was dealt with appropriately then I wouldn’t be writing this review. My experience there was starkly different to a genuine error in a Zizzi restaurant a few months prior where they took accountability and apologised. The fact the Pizza Express incident was purposeful is outrageous. Edit to add: just perused their other reviews and saw that they served a gluten pizza to a coeliac who ended up in A&E! My incident happened before theirs, so this restaurant is clearly fundamentally dangerous and utterly unwilling to learn any lessons. Obviously a pernicious food safety issue in this branch - or dare I say throughout their restaurants as it appears their head office don’t take these safety concerns seriously. With a vast choice of other chains to choose from I hope Pizza Express are given the wide berth they deserve.

Excellent food - very tasty and well-cooked. However, the atmosphere was hot and stuffy, as though there was no air-conditioning, and my pizza was delayed at least 20 minutes while Uber Eat drivers were given preference, it seemed to us.

A huge thank you to Magdalena who looked after our table of 11 of which 5 were kids under 4. She engaged them and looked after everyone despite so many requests. A reason I would visit this branch again - we had a lovely meal. Thanks Magdalena

This is a nice place and I often have dinner here. Pizza is good and usually the service is too. However the last time I went there, our waiter was very slow and felt as if he was high.

This review is based on my takeaway experience — I have dined in here previously and it's a decent pizza express to eat at in person! For takeaway though, the food always arrives cold, and the most recent time I ordered, they missed an entire pizza from the order. (I complained and they delivered it about 35 minutes later, but didn't let us know they were going to, so my friend had already popped to a local pizza place to get a replacement). I know they're busy so dealing with takeaway orders must be tough, but they could do with improving their systems. I don't think I'll be ordering takeaway from here again.

Food was cold when it arrived . The service was very slow, although there were 4 staff serving. Also the staff were selective with who they chose to service , in hope to get a tio.

nice food. great service. & also very cheap! they accept cash which is good for foreigners too. the only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the fact that the marguerita pizza does not have basil!! that was such a curveball. I was a tad disapointed.

The place is beautiful, food is tasty but knives and forks are so bad , I can't cut the soft pizza and I broke my nail when I tried to cut it and pushed on knife 😅👌

Fantastic customer service from Barbara. She was outstanding and exudes hospitality. We had a large pick-up order for my son's 5th birthday for adults and children (36 pizzas). She got back to me promptly with costs and options and ensured that the pizzas were ready for pick up, hot, at the exact time. She prepared the order herself, while hosting guests and dealing with us during a busy weekend lunch. The children loved the pizza boxes (that have sections for salad, mini brownies, hummus and dough balls - excellent for children). The adult pizzas were delicious too. Barbara and the chefs there, a huge thank you x

Thoroughly recommend this restaurant, we came with a large group of people at short notice after a previous booking at a different local restaurant fell through and they were extremely accomodating. Food tasted great and would definitely come back another time.

Ate here yesterday with our 4 year old boy and 4 month old in tow. We were served by a lovely lady called Priscilla I believe. She could not have been more helpful and she was great with my 4 year old who can be a little testing in restaurants. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We were so impressed we came back again today and were delighted to be served by her again. She is an absolute credit to the Clapham store and your company.

Pizza Express did us proud. We held a reunion of 15 ex- colleagues. The welcome was warm, the table was prepared for us. Our waitress took our orders and brought our food promptly and cheerfully. We felt well looked after. I recommend Pizza Express Lavender Hill as a place for a successful large party

I Think is one of the best pizza express that I have ever been. Went to Barnet for work and just grabbed lunch in there the waiter was really nice and accommodating and the food was great.

Lovely food. Nice environment BUT! Loud. We could hardly speak due to the music! The waiters were amazing and gave our child pencils and paper to draw as soon as we sat down! And best of all, even though we dined late. Our child got a Ballon ❤️❤️❤️ thank you

Visited on a Saturday evening around 1815 with my partner & 10 week old daughter. It's clear customer service is prioritised here. Little touches such as the staff noticing I was pushing a pram and opening the door. Offering to bring the pram up a few stairs. One of the staff on their break even stopped to ask our daughters name and ask how old she was. Our server Maggie was fantastic. Friendly, attentive & made recommendations when asked. She even noticed I was using the app and talked me through checking in & suggesting I look at the discounts available before ordering. I wouldn't ordinarily choose Pizza Express for a meal out. I'd usually just pick one of their pizza's from a supermarket, but given the lovely service (and ultimately the tasty food!) we'll be returning again. Want to positively recognise whoever was running the restaurant that night. She was talking with both staff & customers and she came across really passionate and enthusiastic. I made a comment as I was leaving that the service was lovely and she made a point to say our server's name was Maggie. The fact she chose to emphasise one of her team instead but of taking credit directly tells me this is a place that understands the importance of teamwork & customer service. Good job Pizza Express Lavender Hill 👏

Best way to eat pizza Serve it on a wooden surface for best result,,, in my opinion,,, it's not great on a plate, try it on a wooden board ????? As a regular customer, my family and I are always left extremely delighted with the customer service especially from Yolonda and the food is always cooked to perfection! Definitely recommend pizza express on Lavender Hill, we have been to a few different branches and we are never left this satisfied, either the customer service is rubbish or the food is not up to the usual standard. With the Lavender Hill branch they are never lacking, there’s a very high balance from the manager and employees to the delicious, amazing food! 10/10!

I was dining with my 2 small children in this restaurant and I ordered a gf pizza as I suffer from celiac desease, and I got food poisoning ended up in A&E as they served me gluten pizza, that happened 3 weeks ago and they haven’t contacted me, I keep chasing them but nothing have happened so I have no more option to start a legal process.

Delicious food, nice ambient, great music playing in the background and the service was amazing. Magdalena is the best! She’s very nice, friendly and has an awesome style! I’ll definitely come back!

We had our son’s 5th birthday party here today and the whole thing was fantastic. We were given a private room for the party which we had for ourselves for 2 hours. All the kids make and then eat their own pizza’s while the adults drank coffee and soft drinks. The kids had a fabulous time and the staff were so great with the kids and at making sure all the adults had everything they needed. I also must say that it was extremely reasonably priced. If I can get away with it I’m going to do this for his party every year until he turns 18!!

I would like to highly recommend it this place and service by Camila. She's absolutely amazing girl, always happy and smiling giving me felling than I'm in the right place to enjoy my time. Food always fresh and everything is so quick on the table. I love to be surrounded by nice happy friendly people and this is how I feel in there. If you reading that Camila keep smiling you've got beautiful smile that makes clients feel happy.

This was a good night out however I took my nicoise salad home as I filled up on the starters. Breakfast nicoise mmmm but you forgot to add the baby potatoeswhere arr they????

I come to pizza express with my little one quite often for a few reasons. Staff are extremely friendly with my 3 year old and helpful with keeping him entertained whist waiting for his pizza. The pizzaiolos are so friendly they always give us hats and last time we were there my son “helped” them make the pizza which they loved. The kids menu is also great on terms of variety and sizes. Would definitely recommend. Thank you to all the stag that makes us feel welcomed there !

The staff here are excellent. Very welcoming and keen to go that extra mile. A gentleman who I believe was the manager was very friendly. There was also a lady with a grey Bob who went above and beyond, really excellent service. The food was also tasty and fresh.

Newly renovated restaurant which had pleasant vibes for a Sunday dinner. Not too busy and staff were attentive. Good value when using the pizza express app. I was impressed with the option to pay through the app. They could improve by being more generous with the amount of chicken in the Pollo Forza - nevertheless, a good experience overall.
