This is my favourite restaurant. I love it. Never had a bad meal in all the years I have been going. Would love to see my favourite starter come back though. Bruschetta con fungi.

The food was absolutely gorgeous! No complaints whatsoever. My friend threw me a surprise birthday party and Pizza Express even Brought out the cake and sang Happy Birthday! Highly recommended, food and service of high quality.

Ordered for collection, we only live a few doors down and never had a problem before. Ordered a pizza which was fine and Penne Al forno, when we got home the toppings on the pasta were black! My partner brought it back and the awful woman Chef tried to tell my partner that its prone to burning. The only reason im giving a 3 star for service is because the gentleman behind the desk agreed it was burnt and couldn't appologise enough. If the lady had dealt with it i feel this could of been a different situation. I work in hospitality myself and i do not work in a chain that is nearly as expensive as this establishment and i wouldnt dream of telling a customer im sorry but the dish you ordered is just prone to burning. They replaced the order thanks to the gentleman but the second time the pasta was rock hard and not edible. I'm gutted because we love pizza express but the food at Stamford pizza express has gone so downhill. The server was good but you definitely should look into replacing the cooks or providing more training.

Clean, warm and comfortable. Food was hot and speedy. Alin, the Italian gentleman was a fantastic waiter and knowledgable about the menu with great recomendation. The other staff were also very polite and upbeat which is nice to see. Will happily go back. Never having dominoes again 🤣🤣🤣

Standard pizza menu is good, offering tasty (but rather pricey!) variations on a theme. They offer a GF option for the same price, which I opted for, but this turned out to be a rather small and mean affair. What was worse, the pizza base was extremely doughy, soggy and tasteless. I honestly have done better with Shar bases and my own sauce.at home. What was encouraging was their response to my complaints. I immediately got a second GF pizza, cooked a little longer to crisp it up. Good intentions from the staff, for sure, but they couldn't make the substandard, bought-in, base much better, no matter how much they tried. Pizza Express need to source much better GF bases. While their customer service was good, I really expected a better GF product from them.

The staff seems a little stuck up. They showed us to our table. We were waiting for a little while. But the lovely lady who served us was amazing, she was very attentive and extremely helpful. The food was well presented but not a lot.

Ordered a takeaway from here, it was delayed 2 hours and then they decided to cancel the takeaway. It was going through uber eats but ordered via the Pizza Express app, neither uber nor pizza express would refund, my family member decided to go out and collect it herself in the dark because she didn’t want to waste the food, they wouldn’t deliver it and they wouldn’t give us a refund. As expected, it was stone cold by the time we got it home. (It was probably stone cold by the time she left the house seeing as it was delayed 2 hours.) 2/5 for food since it was stone cold by the time it got here, but would’ve probably been alright had it been reheated. 1/5 for service seeing as there quite literally wasn’t any. 5/5 for atmosphere because I don’t really know what to put here since it was a takeaway.

I had a great experience at this Pizza Express, the lady serving us was very kind. I was surprised when they started speaking in my own language, which was lovely. Food was also good, and brought out quickly. Would definitely come here again.

This place is the best pizza express I've been to in years, you're right next to a river and the atmosphere is really nice, the food is a straight up delight and I will definitely visit here again in the future.

This is a regular branch of Pizza Express set alongside the bank of the River Welland in the upmarket town of Stamford. It has a good number of tables as usual set around an open view kitchen area. There are also about three tables set on a balcony over the river but I have never seen these open for use and the chances of staff remembering you are out there are very slim. The food was average Pizza Express fare although I am always surprised how the same pizzas look different every time you visit or between different branches. I thought, especially for nutritional information purposes, they would all be made exactly the same rather than allowing them to be open to interpretation or maybe some chefs are lazier than others in the way they prepare things. Also the chilli oil was incredibly mild to the point it wasn't worth bothering with which is a shame as I particularly enjoy it. Staff were friendly enough but were very slow and didn't pay enough attention to what was going on. This led to our children getting bored and restless for what should have been a simple lunchtime meal. We ended up being there two hours when we expected to be there one hour. The toilets were clean and respectable enough although we were there not long after opening so there shouldn't have been a problem. The gentleman's toilet needs to be better signposted. A number of men accidentally use the ladies as it isn't clear where the gent's is. In places the restaurant is looking rather tired and could do with a bit of TLC but in the current climate I doubt that will happen. On the whole it is ok and perfectly acceptable but it just backs up my idea that going out to a restaurant no longer has any wow factor and you are just as well eating at home and saving money.

Really dissatisfied and disappointed with this branch. Ordered multiple pizzas on deliveroo well in time before closing and they kept pushing back delivery time. Ordered at 9:30pm, they accepted, made the pizzas; said they couldn’t find a driver been waiting for hours until 11:30pm- TWO HOURS. They had shut at 10pm and obviously just threw away the pizzas and went home. Luckily deliveroo helped me cancel. Will not be reordering.

Wonderful staff. First meal out here since before lockdown (yes, I know, that's a while!). But the atmosphere hasn't changed at all! The food and service was amazing as always!

Great spot by the river, staff were really friendly and looked after our group of 12.

Had my son's 10th birthday here with ten of his friends. It wasn't the quietest of gatherings, however the staff and management were excellent. Thank you.

Staff were polite and friendly atmosphere was nice a day relaxing food was fantastic and enjoyable, although I did mention to our waitress that my pizza was nice but it would of been really nice to have had more than 3 beef burnt ends on it, she oh I'm sorry I'll speak to the chef with that she took our payment and I didn't see her again.......😡😡😡😡😡 That was the only let down

Had a very poor experience this evening that has put me off ordering from Pizza Express in the future. Ordered through their website and it said it would be delivered by Uber Eats. About 10 minutes after the food should have arrived, with a child getting hungry, I thought I'd better check the tracking only to find that my order had been cancelled! Apparently Uber didn't have any drivers to deliver the order so they just cancelled it. We ended up driving to the restaurant to find out what had happened, re-ordering and waiting for the food to be cooked, then driving it home again. Now, I realise it's not ENTIRELY Pizza Express's fault as Uber cancelled the order, and PE was out of pocket because they'd already cooked the food and had to bin it. HOWEVER... 1) PE could have just phoned me up to say Uber couldn't deliver and we could have offered to come collect it; 2) They have chosen to work with Uber Eats when they are clearly unreliable; 3) The text message said to contact the restaurant for more information but they don't answer the phone- they just have an answerphone; and 4) They didn't even offer us any sort of discount!!! They were apologetic and sorted our order out quickly, but offering a discount is the least of what they should have done after the massive inconvenience and late dinner we had and I was pretty shocked that they didn't do this. So while it is completely unconscionable that Uber can take an order and then cancel it half an hour later, once it's already been cooked, there are an awful lot of things Pizza Express could have done to rectify the situation but didn't. Just a small effort at communication would have easily resolved the situation.

Delivery time (with delivero) just unacceptable. It took about around 2 hours. Pizzas arrived re-heated and cold

Pizza Exp dining experience is very good. It is a bit pricey but for all the right reasons.

Myself & my wife decided to pop in & grab some dinner, the staff were very friendly, fast & efficient with a smile on their faces. The food was lovely& hot & what was a lovely evening out with my wife was made even better by the experience of this restaurant & its team of staff.

Been here numerous times and always a good experience. Relaxed atmosphere and well thought out lay out with sections that can be dedicated towards larger parties. Meaning the rest of the dinners are undisturbed. Food is consistently good and hot. No complaints after years of attending!

The food was amazing today in pizza express. They welcomed us with lovely starters, the main menu was a pizza it has done with chef Walid full of flavour and we finish with special coffee served with ice cream, this is my first try. We came back tonight because we well welcomed last time in our son's birthday, well dedicated from his parents 's friends. We will come back in valentines days. See you guys on Friday with friends.

Seriously bad service. Walked in seated fine had to wait for ages for somebody to take an order, lots of attitude from the staff, manager was appalling, chef was brilliant and came and said hi, complained to the manager who laughed following a group meeting with the staff who also kept looking over and sniggering, shan’t be going back and needs to have a staff review, especially the manager who laughed in my face when I complained. Had I of been a mystery shopper I would have scored 1/10 and the 1 was for the food, and the chef, nothing else.

We love visiting Pizza Express in Stamford. The staff is always really helpful and fun. Last time we have visited the restaurant with my sister's family who has all sorts of allergies between them. Pizza Express has a great choice when you have these kind of issues and the waitress was brilliant with explaining our choices. And the food tasted absolutely lovely.

Such a beautiful place to go for a Pizza, the location it's great with amazing view of the river, the staff were welcoming the moment we walked by the door, the food was delicious and delivered to our table in time, also they were able to quickly accommodate my friend's dietary restrictions, highly recommended.

Had a table booked at 3pm yesterday , we arrived on time and were ignored by staff on reception as they took payments from diners that were leaving , we waited 10 minutes to be shown to our table . The restaurant was empty . We then waited a further 10 minutes and were not offered a menu or drink so left the restaurant . No wonder it was empty . Won't be going back .

Lacking in plant based options. Offer a dairy alternative for teas/coffee in order to have the only dessert What we did have was lovely 😍

Lemon & Herb Chicken Wings were good. Sloppy Giuseppe pizza was not bad either. Good service and staff.

Food was OK that’s the 3 ⭐️ but staff were inattentive, slow and didn’t appear friendly at all - not once did the waitress smile, either a welcome or a goodbye. Had to make it look like we were leaving to get the bill! EDIT: standard response from Pizza Express saying it was ‘good to hear I enjoyed my visit’ …. Shocking when I clearly stated I didn’t!!!

Noisy. Staff not very hospitable. As we entered the place, one of them was slamming around on the till and muttering to himself. Made us feel quite uncomfortable. We dined here because we had a special offer. Feels like a bit cheap diner rather than a nice dinner experience. Food was good. Shame the staff seemed harassed and uninterested. Usually as you leave a place you are bid goodnight and thanked. Not here. They just talk amongst themselves.

The pizza are nice but the service is very very slow as like many places they spend more time on getting the deliveroo orders out while the restaurant sit and just wait, I will not be rushing back any time soon.

The pizza, which was excellent, was the best thing about this place. The premises are in need of some refurbishment, being a listed building I suspect, but the worst aspect was the service which was slow (30 minutes to be served 3 pizzas in a restaurant where only 3 other tables were occupied) and not particularly friendly or communicative. I'm unlikely to return here.

Have eaten here a couple of times. It’s always constantly good. Tonight, the food was as good as usual, but the service was as good as I have had in any restaurant, anywhere, ever.

It was supposed to be a nice lunch out with a guest that we were entertaining. We got in the restaurant, we were sat at a table, we were not offered a choice or even politely asked if we like the table. We sat down my arm got sickly from ketchup or a sauce as the table was not cleaned, had to ask the server to come and clean which he did and said sorry. We then ordered our food and drink. The drink and starters were quick, not so for the main course. We waited for over 30 min ( the kitchen was prioritising the takeaway food as many boxes left the kitchen before our food came out) and then we saw the pizzas and thought 'ok after all this wait they must be good'. We got very disappointed. I know everyone makes mistakes and perhaps burns a pizza by accident. What makes me very angry still now is that they tried to cut the burnt crust to hide the fact that it was burnt ( by the way this pizza should also have pepperoni it did to be fair had three or four in the whole pizza) . The chef that thought that was a good idea was very wrong, it only added insult to injury. They should not have served that Pizza when they saw the state of it, this was removed from the bill but it spoiled our lunch and afternoon'! I was offered another Pizza but I said 'what to wait another half an hour! We will never visit this place again. Paid £50 for the privilege of ruining our day!
