Pizza Express in Belfast

Green olives and roasted tomatoes will be your only starter!!! The only thing you can eat here would be a pizza with peppers and tomatoes! If you ask them about anything else or vegans they look at you like you’re some kind of alien !!!

Nice food and friendly staff but prices have definitely increased considerably since our last visit. Not worth the money they charge and we wont be returnung unfortunately

Buen servicio, pero a decir sí, era sábado pero pedimos y uno de los entrantes nunca llegó y luego el risotto no era comestible. ¿Cómo? Simple, el aceite de ajo era tan fuerte después de un bocado que casi enfermó a mi esposa. Afortunadamente, la pizza era genial, así que estaba bien. Si no fuera por el hecho de que teníamos tarjetas de regalo para un regalo de Navidad, me habría quejado con más fuerza. Si quieres buena pizza ve aquí pero no pidas el risotto.

Lovely meal here on a first night in Belfast. Service was great, food was excellent. 25% off the total bill with a voucher from their website. What could be better! Would definitely visit again!

Went for early lunch - approx 12.30pm mid week afternoon, one of only 4 tables (3 of which were only 2 people). Noone came to take a drinks or food order, I went to the bar to ask someone to take an order and it was another 10 mins before anyone came over to our table. Ordered dough balls as a started - they didn't arrive, mains arrived, told the waiter about the dough balls, he said he had forgotten about them and then they arrived 2/3rd way through our main course. Salad was missing ingreidents and pizza undercooked. Won't be going back here again!

Not baby friendly. Waited to be seated but nobody came over and the place was almost empty. I walked down to the other end of the restaurant to ask a waitress if there was a table free before I brought the pram upstairs. She rudely replied that she would see if a table was free but that I’d have to leave the pram outside as the walkways between the tables were all fire escape routes. So I’d have to wake up my sleeping cosy baby on a freezing December evening, unload my pram and then leave it outside- really? Do not waste your time even going here- we accidentally stumbled on Zizzi just underneath one level down and we got the warmest welcome, the most extensive veggie/ vegan menu I’ve ever seen and the most attentive staff. Oh and we were even allowed in with our pram (obviously) to a lovely table in the corner.

Located centrally in this amazing shopping centre in middle of Belfast. Unusually quiet on this Black Friday. Seated promptly and orders taken. As always pizzas beautiful. This restaurant never disappoints.

I’ve always been quite a fan of pizza express as the standard is always consistent. This was my first visit to the Victoria square restaurant and I was quite impressed. It’s nicely laid out and spacious and the service was great. The pizza was excellent. I had Pollo ad Astra which I know is always a safe bet.

Very tasty pizza and friendly service. Great selection in different Italian food. Kids meal special available. Great pit stop during or after shopping.

Hay gran variedad de pizzas en diferente formato, la mayoría oscila entre 11 y 15 libras. No son espectaculares pero sí están buenas. El local es amplio y acogedor, y el servicio fue muy amable con nosotros.

Un tranquilo viernes por la noche en este restaurante. El personal es lento y se le debe solicitar que tome bebidas, tome pedidos y pague la factura. Ningún esquema parecería. El personal se ve triste y no interesado. La comida es increíble cuando finalmente llega. Debo decir que vale la pena esperar, sin embargo, no vayas si tienes prisa.

Vine aquí por el té familiar, ya que siempre fue confiable en el pasado, pero las pizzas con jamón son las mismas que las pizzas con jamón, lo cual es decepcionante, especialmente porque más tarde es más caro. La ensalada Caeser no tenía aderezo y no muy apetecible. Parece que ha perdido el toque personal como la camarera de la cinta transportadora muy evidente.

My wife and I had lunch on Tuesday.Chris made us very welcome and was attentive throughout. The food was excellent and service quick and efficient. We will definitely be back.

Ate here on st Patrick’s day with my partner. Service was very good especially the young guy with English accent who was very pleasant and attentive. Had dough balls for a starter which were delicious, and the American hot pizza for my main. Both me and my partner were very pleased with the overall experience here and will definitely be returning!

We were seated by a lovely guy, our server then came and took our order and we never saw him again. He got my pizza completely wrong, which was taken off the bill to be fair, but I had to find someone to get drinks, and when I asked for deserts for the kids he reminded me they didn’t have to have them so I took the hint and went home, I felt bad not leaving a tip but I was really disappointed as I don’t go out too often with the kids and they were really disappointed too at no desert :-/

1 tiempo en la calle en Pizza Express. Entre los 4 de nosotros conseguimos 3 pizzas y un plato de pasta de pollo. Pasta muy buena pero esperaba pizzas para ser algo más. Decoración, personal y servicio bueno, pero posiblemente un poco lento para pizza en una noche tranquila. Postres, café todo bien. Todo fue agradable, pero solo faltaba algo. Probablemente irá de nuevo, pero no se apresuraría a regresar ni a priorizar.

Excelente ubicación en la Plaza Victoria cerca del cine. Buena comida Pizza Express. ¡Odia las fichas! ¡Recupera las fichas normales, por favor! Pero no mantendré esto en contra del restaurante, ya que es una decisión en cadena. Buen zumbido en un sábado por la noche. Personal amigable. 4 de cada 5 debido a que el borrador llegó a nuestras espaldas a lo largo de nuestra comida.

Had an amazing meal here with my daughters to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Early booking, shown straight to table, very friendly, warm and nice staff. Order taken efficiently and all correct. Food came out quickly and piping hot and looking appealing. Tasted superb, kids had kids meal (4 courses for £7.25!!), my wife had cannelloni and I am American hot one Romano. All perfect.as a birthday treat the waitress brought out a chocolate brownie-a nice touch.

Called in late on a Friday for a quick meal, the service was superb, mo was so helpful with our dietary requirements!

It’s been many years since we visited Pizza Express so while we were in a trip to Belfast, we decided to try out the Victoria Square venue.

Pizza Express is Pizza Express, so don’t expect anything different, but what sets this venue apart is that its sited in part of the old section of Victoria Square, with original wooden floors, windows and cast iron columns supporting the roof. Such a different feel to the usual packaged product in modern surroundings - great vibe about it all, with the cooking area totally open.

The standard of food and the service was excellent. The staff were really helpful and were terrific with the children. Will definitely return.

Ate here after a hard day and before attending the MAC. Service is good, Food was Ok, But when you pay nearly £12 quid for a pizza and it's the size of a Childs portion, well that's not right. Was very disappointed, was still hungry after, wouldn't go back. I pay to get fed not have my eyes ears and smell made happy..So come on adult portions for adults .

Visited with family including our ten month old granddaughter. The food was good and the service very good. Couldn’t fault anything.

Booked here on a whim the staff were really nice (and patient, as we had already had a few drinks) the food all came out piping hot and everything was really tasty

Popped in here after a wee trip to the flics... 3 adults and we ate off the set menu (not literally - that would be unhygienic) 9.95 for two courses..plus a few extras lol! Chris our server was super helpful, made good suggestions and was very patient! Full marks for gluten free base.. Tasted just as good as the real thing.

Nice lunch with family. Went for pollo forza romano base, quite spicy but enjoyed, service was good very accommodating with regards to special diet requirements

Called in on Thursday and had a really nice pizza.We all ordered slightly different and even the baby had a little pizza for himself.The young man serving our table was lovely.Very polite and helpful.We have never had a bad experience here and its a great place tp chill out.We go in on the train so we can have a glass of wine with our meal.Left feeling happy and relaxed.Well done and thank you everyone .

We sometimes find it difficult to eat out as my toddler son is allergic to cow’s milk. Pizza is generally a big no no, but we heard that pizza express served vegan cheese. My son was delighted to try his first ever pizza and the staff made a big fuss of him. To make it even better, they had non-dairy pudding options! Anyone who has ever tried to go dairy free will testify about how difficult is is to find somewhere that serves puddings without cream or chocolate as the main ingredient. We had a very happy boy with his raspberry sorbet! There were good options for our one year old too. It’s not often that we find somewhere that caters for both of our kids and it was a welcome change. They also advertise gluten free bases and have a pretty comprehensive allergy book.

If it’s a pizza we want, my wife and I wouldn’t go anywhere else, because the quality of the pizza base (Romano), cannot be bettered, in my opinion, and that quality is due to the pizza bakers knowing exactly what they are doing, and maintaining the quality each time.

Mi marido y yo visitamos en una hora del té sábado 3 semanas antes de Navidad. Aunque el restaurante estaba muy lleno, nos dijeron que tardarían 5 minutos para conseguir una mesa. No era mucho más que eso, hasta que nos sentamos y el servicio era relativamente rápido a pesar de que el restaurante estaba lleno. La comida era deliciosa y recién preparado, de hecho nos podíamos ver nuestra comida preparadas. Volvería de nuevo!

My girlfriend and I seem to love pizza places for our dates, and had a great time in Pizza Express. Great food, great service and not too expensive! It's a chain, you get the same wherever you go, but I'm happy to confirm that Pizza Express in Victoria Square maintains the high standards!

I went here with family for my grandson’s birthday. Service was good in spite of being very busy. There was a.good range on the kids menus. The pizzas were delicious but the toppings were very sparse. Again, the sweets were delicious but very small. Extremely expensive for what we got. Apart from that I enjoyed the meal.

We went here for a Birthday meal. We told the waiter it was a Birthday but he didn't care The knives and forks that were on the table still contained particles of food, the starters we ordered were luke warm. Next came the pizzas which were cold, the waiter said you can't send them back if you don't like them!!. We ordered a dessert, no chocolate cake available!. We had to order cheesecake instead. Did it come with a candle on it for the person who's birthday it was..of course not. Then we had to wait 40 minutes for them to bring us the bill.

Recientemente fuimos a cenar a Pizza Express, nuestra camarera era fantástica y muy amable pero nos pareció que la comida era muy caro! Dos personas de nuestro grupo eran vegetarianos y tenían claro que aún pizzas cuestan lo mismo que una pizza con muchos ingredientes.

Visitamos Pizza Express en Victoria Square con amigos de la cultura de la noche. Comimos aquí mucho ya que la calidad de la comida es estupenda. Sin embargo, anoche no fue tan buena como normalmente es. La pizza era mediocre y un poco decepcionante, pero gracias a Lucy la camarera que era realmente precioso.

Avoid avoid avoid. Awful meal yesterday in pizza express Victoria square. Food was expensive and extremely poor. The pizzas were so bad that it seemed they ran out of ingredients halfway way through. Had to get some food sent back as it was Luke warm, the waitress took it away and must have put it under the grill as it came back warmed up but crispy........the base was that thin it ended up like a taco. The pizza express pizzas that you buy in Tesco and heat in the oven are far superior to what you get in this restaurant. Had to get knives and forks from another table as ours had none and we were given a jug of water but no glasses and had to ask several times. In fairness we got a discount on our bill for the cold food but it was still far to expensive.

Super attentive but not intrusive staff. Really enjoy our pizza's and my partner just loves dough balls! Much quicker than other restaurants at this particular site. We were seated and served promptly. The pizza's were excellent! Will definitely be back

This establishment is not only unaccomodating to breast feeding mothers, but they REFUSE to allow such horrific practices in their restaurant! Many other eateries in Victoria Square, no need to have an over priced below par soggy pizza in this place!

First time visiting this particular pizza express, we arrived quite late (after 9.30pm) and the restaurant was very quiet. We were worried maybe the staff would be anxious to get ready to start closing up but the serving staff were so friendly and chatted away to us and stressed that we take our time. The gluten free pizza was excellent and the waitress was able to explain to us that all the gluten free pizza's came on the black boards so that they can be easily distinguished which is great to see such care to avoid mix ups. I was also able to get gluten free dough balls as a starter and gluten free peroni beer which goes great with the pizza. Would definitely recommend this branch based on our experience.

Very disappointed with the menu and quality of pizzas. We have eaten in Pizza Express in various cities but it has definitely lost its appeal.

We arrived with our children and were duly greeted, with kids given the activity pack which kept them entertained. Service was good and food served quickly. Pizza tasted delicious - I find this much better than other similar pizza chains. We had left a bag under our table and only noticed later. When contacted, the manager was extremely helpful and arranged for this to be posted to us, as we'd left the city by then. Such superb service deserves recognition. Thanks to all the staff - we are very happy customers!

Lunch with my three daughters after shopping trip . Overpriced food ,had lasagne which cost nearly £12 no salad or garlic bread on the side definitely not worth the money. Pizzas were ok but had to wait on food ,wouldnt mind but not overly busy. Table of five beside us had ordered food but wait was so long they left without eating.

Place was very busy staff very friendly and very efficient. suits all ages.Menu excellent and varied food delicious all three courses. Meal came quickly. A very enjoyable experience and will return soon.

I wasn't disappointed by my visit to this branch of a chain I go to regularly at home. The staff were very helpful and friendly making us feel very welcome.

The manager has to be the rudest, most obnoxious man I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. I was stood waiting to be seated with my infant daughter, for TWENTY minutes, without so much as being acknowledged by a single member of staff. They barged passed my pram countless times but not one mentioned the fact I had been stood there for so long. The front of restaurant was busy but plenty of space in the other half of the restaurant where me and the ever increasing queue behind me could have been seated. Or even if not, could someone not have just spoken to us? It was embarrassing! The ever increasing sympathetic looks from diners who were as shocked as I was that they had me and my baby wait without so much as a hello. Whilst I waited, two other tables left because although seated, they had been waiting for half an hour with no service, they hadn't even taken a drinks order. At this point i followed suit and left. Receiving a glare from the manager as I did so. The service at st. Anne's square branch was far far superior, the food delicious too. Non of my friends and family will visit the Victoria square store any more as they have also been put out by the long wait times and moronic manager. Save your money and try st. Anne's square or balkyhackamore, both of which are perfect. Your man in Victoria square could take a lesson in hospitality and business management from them. No idea who gave him that job but he's out of his depth.

We all know the chain, we all know the menu.Just wanted to say a public thank you to the staff and in particular Katrina, our waitress (we still using that phrase?)Were there for my sons 16th birthday and she looked after us fabulously.

They do a gorgeous vegan pizza. I went with my friend a few days ago and the waitress was lovely. Defitinely recommened it.

My friend and I went here for dinner tonight. My friend got a starter which was the risotto, neither of us had cutlery to start off with and it took about 10 minutes before someone came close enough to our table for us to ask for some, by this point her starter was cold but she still enjoyed it. No waiter/waitress seemed to be assigned to our table so every time we needed something, we had to spend about 10 minutes trying to grab someone's attention as the staff make little eye contact, if any at all. Mains came out, I had the pollo salad which was amazing, great portion size, lovely presentation and tasted perfect - well done to the chefs! Both my friend and I really enjoyed the food. By the end of the meal we were trying to grab someone's attention to get the bill, no one came near our table, no one would look at us and there was a man stood behind the bar quite obviously on his phone instead of making sure the customers on the floor were okay. For a meal that costed almost £50 I'd expect to have better service. I'd eat here again if the staff were more attentive, sadly.. they're not. I won't be back to this store.

Went there for a late lunch, the food was really good i got a Risotto and shared a vigil pizza with a friend and both was really delicious and the atmosphere was nice

Lunch with family 4 parents 3 kids,Whilst the front area was busy with other families the back was completely empty, yet we were held at the front and told that they only had one rabble surround with buggies! Staff where shockingly poor, 3 of the 5 items ordered where wrong, waitress was unfriendly and generally quite poor also never offered a child seat(had to find one ourselves!)Food was good! But just stay away as the staff would prob prefer it! Also terribly expensive.If your looking a pizza style lunch go to Little Wings!

Had a lovely meal here last night, a seafood pasta dish, 2 desserts and a nice bottle of wine for 2 total bill including tip £50. Our waiter was pleasant and very professional.

Our meal was pleasant enough at Pizza Express.The sitting area is closer to a canteen than a restaurant, very noisy and cramped tables, the service was incredibly quick, within 10 minutes of ordering our meals they were on the table, the food itself was nice enough without being fantastic.I guess it is a fast food restaurant and should be treated as such, a quick bite before you go to the cinema or after you've finished your shopping.It's quite expensive for what it is but that is modern life in a city centre shopping mall.

Whilst the food and the service from our waitress was good, the attitude from the manager who seated us was not. We were with our sleeping six week old baby and he made an issue with the pram being positioned next to our table. We did not want to waken our baby and remove her from the pram and park it near the door .This is supposed to be a family friendly restaurant and it was disappointed to be treated with such distain. After raising our concerns we were finally allowed to be seated at the rear of the restaurant with the pram next to us but this was done with much reluctance. A disappointing visit on this occasion.

Started using clubcard vouchers so decided to visit last week. Place wasn't that busy as the sun was out but so glad we visited mainly due to are waitress Lucy (small gothic looking girl) was amazing I couldn't rave about her more, infectious smile and personality to match. She recommended the pollo pesto and I agreed that it was amazing, food was served fast and we were so well taken care of that we will return regardless of vouchers. Manager was lovely also. Highly reccomend!!!!!

ON A DIET ? - Try Pizza Express's small portions. You will not be disappointed. Service was good and food was tasty, however the portion sizes seem to be decreasing, or else they are using extremely large plates. For example, the Seafood Rigatoni was more like a large starter than a main, and contained very little seafood - a little salmon and pollock and 2 prawns.

Arrived around 830pm, staff hanging around gossiping to themselves, a sour blonde woman showed us to our seats, no pleasantry, we should have left then. 15 mins later a waitress took our drinks, 15 mins later when she brought them she took our order. The waitress was more occupied with hanging in the corner gossiping with other staff rather than doing her job. The floor to the restaurant was awful, covered in used napkins, food, spoons - the sour blonde woman who met us at the door was clearing some tables and stepping over the cutlery, napkins on the floor....surely if she had any pride in her job and running of the restaurant, it would not take much effort to lift them off the floor. Food was average, tasted like some thin supermarket frozen budget effort. Waitress again was standing gossiping, couldn't get her attention, so walked up and paid, inconveniencing her conversation obviously. I mean really? Do you lot have no pride in your work? No job satisfaction? Is it just a 'job' to you? Customers are wanting and paying for a service which is non existent. Its ironic that this restaurant remains in business. Judging by the many complaints on here, I doubt the management care as the service at least would improve if they did..... Highly recommend McDonalds or Five Guys closeby, at least there you get what you order with a smile from staff,

Always a pleasure to come here. The service is always great and was again this time and the food arrives hot.

Awful service. Went in for quick lunch. Wasn't too busy. Had to wait over 20 minutes to get staffs attention to get our bill. Bill came out wrong and in total it took us 35 minutes to pay the bill. Felt like walking out without paying, don't think anyone would've noticed!!! Mentioned to manager about the wait and she just continued with taking our payment. Very bad service. Will not be back.

Ordered a 2 course lunch gluten free lunch today. For starter.I.could have gluten free doughballs and for my.main I tried the pizza. It was lovely. Base was really light and crispy and cooked to perfection. Loved my lunch will highly.recommend it

We went on Friday after work, so relatively early. There were very few in the restuarant. There was actually more waiting staff than customers when we arrived. On arrival we were greeted with a menu and told where to sit, beside the door, which was freezing! We ordered a starter of a sharing platter which was lovely. Ordered our pizza which was threw in front of us so the server could go back to gossiping with the other servers (around 8 of them talking in the corner) no cutter came with the pizza, no enjoy, no interaction at all. The food wasn't bad, but we just couldn't get over how shocking the service was! When paying, we were told, 'give me your code'?? Apparently o2 we're doing a deal. I couldn't believe the abruptness! I asked do they not do the flavoured oils anymore, to my reply the girl shouted 'yes, they're over there'. Is that not her job to ask us if we want them? Are you expected to get up and get them? Not once did she ask about our food. Obviously we didn't leave a tip, which is unusual for us. I just couldn't believe how poor the service was considering they were over staffed at the time. The manager needs to do some customer service training with his team!

The customer service in this branch was shocking!!The restaurant wasn't even that busy and it was about 7pm at night, it took the waitress an absolute age to come and take our order.When we eventually had our order taken and got our food the base of the pizza was burnt and actually sat on the side waiting for it to be brought to us for a while so it wasn't as hot as it could of been.We then sat for a full 25 minutes waiting for our plates to be cleared, the only reason they cleared our table was because we asked for the bill!!We then had to wait another further 15minutes for our payment to be taken, by this point I was ready to walk out! They also couldn't workout which waitress should take the payment, as if it matters?The waitresses were very unfriendly, slow and clearly wanted to chat with each other than serve customers! Not once were we asked if our food was okay or if we would like more drinks... the one thing they probably should be doing?!The manager in was more bothered about walking around with the football on his phone and having it held to his head so he could hear it that what his staff were doing!

Been here twice. Both times got garlic bread as starter. 1st time with cheese, second time without and I preferred without cheese but both lovely. I just get the pepperoni pizza with onions and my sister got margarita. We really enjoyed our pizzas. The first time service was great everything went well and staff were lovely. 2nd time after we got our starter wee waited 35 minutes, pizza still had not arrived. I asked the waitress where our pizza was as we had been waiting 35minutes she said she would check. I could see her talking to the chef then she went through the receipts sitting beside him and lifted one out and gave him it. She then came back to us and said it was in the oven it would be 10minutes. Clearly lying to us as she obviously gave him the receipt and i watched him make our pizza so wasn't in the oven. They clearly forgot about us. I had waited 35mins before i said something but i wonder if i had not said anything how long we would have been waiting before someone came to us. Not one waitress or waiter approached us during our 35 min wait to ask if we needed anything. We were sitting there with cutlery and no food for so long. Surly one of them would have noticed. They were just asking the people who were eating if everything was ok. The first time we came we loved it but the 2nd time was a disaster. I didn't even say to the waitress about her lying to me i was too annoyed and wanted to get out. Didn't finish my pizza. I will not be back.

I am not one who ever writes reviews, but had such a bad experience, i felt I should leave a comment in the hope it will be picked up by Pizza express management. After 40 hungry minutes I asked a waiter to check our order had been placed, and it had. So a further 10 minutes later and our starter finally arrived....alongside our mains! Squid and pizza is certainly an interesting combination. No one came near us to check our food was ok or to remove our plates after we were done. We sat with empty plates for a good 15 or 20 minutes. By this stage it was after 9.30pm and the chefs had literally switched off the ovens gone home. Asked for a dessert of chocolate fudge cake and it was served cold, straight from the fridge. :(The serving staff could not of been less interested. And it would appear the chefs were as bad. A family of 6 came in at 10pm and given menus only to be told 10 minutes later that the chefs had gone for the night despite the fact that the restaurant was open until 11pm. Really awful service and will not be back. The food was nice, but it was a lack of proper management which appears to be the problem. It felt like all the managers were off that night and the staff felt they could put their feet up for the evening. Not a good impression at all. It was just so bad and so, so unacceptable.

Greeted at the door by a large gentleman who stated, it's a 45 minute wait for food, it's up to you if you wanna wait, we decided to wait and I'm sorry that we did, very very poor quality of food, my partner has the lasagne which was like a microwave meal and the polenta chips where tasteless and the dip along with them was vile, never again

Visited at the weekend whilst in town. I had the ham and mushroom pizza, my wife had the chicken pizza! Both were very tasty, the chicken was quite spicy! Service was friendly and quick. We also had a bogof offer on pizza so it made the meal very good value!

Visited here with a friend yesterday. Was my first time but had heard great reports. It was a bit quiet when we arrived but soon got very busy. Our waitress/server was very friendly and attentive. Was hard to pick something from the menu as everything sounded good!! I had leggero which was pizza with salad in centre. So tasty but bit expensive which is why not 5 stars. Also had the chocolate fudge cake. Reasonably priced. Will be back but only when ive plenty of money to spare. Special occasions only i think.

We found the starters to be very overpriced for all that came on the plate. Mac and cheese although small was very tasty. Pizza was smaller than other restaurants and although a custom made 3 meat topping pizza, there was more veg than meat as beef mixed with pepper and onion. Salad was good - but you can't really go wrong with that. Chips were not nice at all - and I love my chips!!!! Slow and unenthusiastic service from the guy with the beard who seems to be a regular on these reviews, waited ages to be seated too. Didn't ruin our night but we def won't be back.

visited before xmas - we were seated and told long wait on food but our drinks and starters were out in no time thanks to our lovely waitress / small dark haired girl with dark lipstick / husband was disappointed about the calabrese but she told us it would be back in January! I was more than satisfied with my romana natale clean plates and vouchers were sorted, bill got in no time absolutely no errors and will be returning hopefully get our lovely server again.

Fantastic meal before Christmas whilst out shopping in a busy busy Belfast.Met at door by what seemed to be a male manager - explained that there would be a small wait (understandable as it was very busy) - seated with a smile, was informative & drink offered - top marks.Service was excellent by all staff (we had two looked after us for duration) & the food was simply fantastic - Freshest Pizza I think I've ever had!!!Ambience super; Family Friendly, Suitable for Couples too (all occasions)I am giving this 5stars as it was as good, if not even better than it was on my visits a few years ago. Consistency & Improvement is key - Well Done!!

We tried our first ever pizza many years ago on our honeymoon and it was in a Pizza Express. This was the second time in the chain, and we went after our shopping on the spur of the moment. On arrival we were greeted with "Have yez booked, have yez"? I know it is a type of fast food place but maybe they could greet people in a less uncouth way. Nevertheless we were shown right away to our table despite the place being bunged.I had a sort of Christmas Special pizza of mainly pulled port and my wife had her usual margherita. Both were very good. Out of curiosity I tried the dough balls as a dessert which were flavoured with cinnamon and with vanilla dip. It was okay but just a poor man's doughnut.The server was very chatty and friendly and did a good job.Would go back.

The only reason I'm writing this review is to kill time while they sort the bill. The waitress seemed to forget about us so we had to go hunting for her. Then they had difficulty taking a voucher that we printed from their website earlier that day and had to get the manager. I suppose the pizza was ok. Tasty enough, but very thin and not very filling. Aaaaaand we're still waiting.

Visited Pizza Express, Victoria Square today (Wednesday) I had received the email ref: 'Pizza Wednesday' which offers 2for1 on main courses and 2for1 on dough balls.I always mention any type of voucher on entering any restaurants as 9/10 there's always terms and conditions.So I did this to which the girl, firstly 'needed to check it was ok to use' then a manager approached, again needed to confirm if it was ok to use. Then a third time they needed to check if I needed 2 codes in order to place 4 meals, still none the wiser if this is the case as we gave up guessing. This voucher is advertised pizza express wide, and so should communicate to ALL restaurants what the terms are to reduce the level of frustration to the customer-more annoying when at least 3 members of staff were involved in confirming whether I could or could not use the voucher.I then waited 20 minutes after we had finished our meal to attempt to get any member of staffs attention to ask for the bill. The restaurant had started to get busy but I don't believe the staff were efficient enough to deal with this as we had not been checked on once during our meal.I had to approach the till myself to pay as I couldn't wait any longer...Food was delicious though if your prepared to wait...'NOTE' If you receive the code for 2for1You can't actually bring 4 or 6 people and get them all 2for1 you will need a number of different codes..... or so they say!!No one actually knew....

Love the pizzas but I have never experienced service as bad, the guy with the red beard moves slowly has no personality and left us sitting for 30 minutes after our main course was finished. He isn't suited to the hospitality industry, he is not hospitable! It's just a pity as we are regulars at pizza express, will go to the other one in future.

I'm a regular to this Pizza Express and would go here more than branches which are closer to home. Was looking forward to having a nice meal on tues 3rd Jan.... went into the restaurant at about 5.15pm. From what I could see the restaurant was quiet, around 5/6 big tables seated, with plenty of free tables throughout the restaurant. I Waited a little while for a staff member to come over, which was fine. I then explained I needed a table for 2 people... the girl responded by telling me there were no tables and they were all reserved. I was quite shocked at this as the place was quiet and it was early! And I've ever had a problem getting a table, even if I have to wait a while. I'm not one to argue so went out and called the Lisburn road branch to check for tables. I was told not a problem, plenty of space. The other person in my party was shocked at the Vic square branch having no tables so told me to call the number to enquire. Which I did... this time a guy answered and told me oh yes plenty of tables for 2, come on down. I was shocked and extremely disappointed... why did the girl tell me I couldn't get a table?! I'm not one for confrontation so we decided to go on up to Lisburn rd. Not sure I'll be back to the Vic square branch now... you need to sort your staff out... turning away business in January is not a good way to run the place.

Visited pizza express just. Before xmas. Quickly seated and and straight away catered to by our lovely server small dark haired girl with dark lipstick on / we were told long wait but drinks and starters was out in no time, she replaced cutlery, mains - my husband was disappointed at the calabrese not on the menu but was more than satisfied with the American hottest! I enjoyed every bite of my own romana natale. Our lovely server prepared us beautiful tiramisu and coffees, chatted to us , got Tesco club card vouchers sorted and the bill. All in all a great visit with great and fast service by our waitress who was actually only in training! No errors made and will definitely be back.

I'm sad to write a review like this. But when I'm interested in doing business with an establishment and both in person and on the phone I'm treated rudely, abruptly and talked to as if I am a 3 year old, I believe it is necessary to warn people. Realizing it is late to make a reservation for dinner we called. We were effectively told we were stupid to even try. When we attempted another call to place a take away order we were told they were too busy and would not take an order. These would have been reasonable situations but the person on the phone clearly didn't even want to tell us these circumstances. The day before when we stopped in and inquired about reservation or a takeaway menu we were treated as if we were street beggars looking for a handout. Clearly I will not do or recommend to anyone attempting this experience.

We were in Belfast for the music box production in the waterfront. Stoped for a light lunch and glass of wine. You know what you are getting in chain restaurant so the experience all depends on the service and during a busy Saturday Shauna who was our waitress was excellent she made our lunch a very pleasant and we would return just because of her. Took 45 mins to get a starter which we had to ask for cutlery. Still waiting on mains. Place is a mess tables covered with previous customers left overs and dirty cutlery. 60 mins later still waiting on mains. All tables still not clear. So eventually got our mains 75 mins later which was not pizza express quality. We asked for the bill at the same time as we were now late for movie. Bill came with 3 pizzas on it. We only had 2. No drinks charged on the bill. Asked for Parmesan which we didn't get. Asked for cutlery as waiting staff took others away after starters. Never got these either. Bill came back 10 mins later saying it was our bill. Which she realised it wasn't. She had to get a supervisor from the kitchen to sort out. Terrible service and will never be back.

Went early to book a table for 4 but manager explained they weren't taking bookings and to turn up later and queue.Came back later and no queue - happy Days. Went inside to b told that they were fully booked - but no one waiting...Badly handled by manager.Discounting experience in a chain we love.

pizza express pizzas never disappoint. I was waiting until all my friends had finished their meals as my order was mixed up. I think the staff handled their error extremely v apologetic, monetary discount, v polite and calm owned up to the small error and rectified it. I do think the place probably needed more staff on a busy sat coming up to christmas

Decent lunch shared the Christmas special Pizza and mixed salad and homemade coleslaw xHad our choice of seating and waiter very good

I have been in several of these branches across the UK. I cannot fault the service, from we arrived until leaving they accommodated everything we asked.The only thing I can say is that they need to watch cleanliness.The ledges and windowsills has flies and dust across them, given its the winter I'm not sure how long they've been sitting there..? Food wise, it is standard pizza express - decent food at fair prices.If you sign up to a Taste Card for here, prezzo and other resturant chains you can get 2 for 1 / half price off your meal! Called in for lunch which was super slow. Service was shocking. Only one person actually knew what they were doing the girl that took our order blonde hair in a bun. All staff seemed to follow her around and ask her what to do. Our main dishes was brought down one at a time by a man who did not want to be there my youngest was waiting ages before she got hers she is only 3. Normally restaurants would give children first. We waited half an hour with our plates stacked up at end of table then I just asked a waitress I also had to ask for my child's deserts. Which were just through out and really cold and hard which they did not eat. Good points pizza was lovely if you have a 2 hour plus lunch. Also took forever to get our bill we had to ask twice felt like leaving don't think they would have noticed

Called in without a booking, was seated after a short wait. Service was good and attentive and the pizza was delicious. Friendly staff, would visit again.

We visited Pizza Express at Victoria Square on Saturday evening for dinner. Arriving about 5pm the restraurant wasn't too busy, but within 30 mins the place was full. Our food (starter and mains) was served pretty quickly, and the food was good - no complaints. Unfortunately the service was very, very poor... Inside the restraurant staff were shouting at each-other, very unprofessional. The manager (who served us) was quite rude, and made us feel unwelcome the second we finished eating.With lots of other food options nearby we'd recommend you avoid Pizza Express!

We arrived here at 5pm and had parked in castle court which closes at 7 so assumed we would have plenty of time. This was not the case. We waited almost an hour for our main course before our waitress said she did not know what was going on with our order. Another 10 minutes later our order arrived and was slightly burnt. We then asked our waitress for some water which we never got. We were planning on ordering desert but didn't have time as we had to rush back to the car park. We went up to the till and asked if we could pay as we could not get the attention of any staff to get our bill and we were told that they would send someone down to our table. We had to wait another 10 minutes for our waitress to come and take our money so we could get out of there. Food definitely not worth the money and service very poor. Will not return.

We were on an evening out to go to the cinema so we called with about an hour before the film was due to start and were seated exactly where we wanted. No worries there, things were very quiet. Menus were handed out promptly. I like to relax with a beer before a meal so I got edgy when no one came to take a drinks order for about 5 minutes, even though I asked for a bowl of olives soon after sitting down which were delivered in about a minute. Anyway when the drinks came we were more than ready to order food. So, food ordered we chatted....and chatted. I'd ordered pizza and my wife had ordered salmon. I know pizza takes a minimum period but this was uncomfortably long and the clock was ticking. However the dishes did eventually arrive. My pizza from the specials menu was absolutely delicious, so fresh that freshness was an extra ingredient! My wife's salmon not only looked delicious, also according to her, was divine ☺. Time was really tight when we were finishing so we asked for the bill before completely done. I was amazed at the speed it arrived, almost immediately. And when I indicated that I was paying by card, the server fetched the card machine straight away so there was a bizarre situation in which I was paying for a meal that neither of us had finished! Hey ho! I'd certainly return but with more time, there were many more dishes on the menu that I would like to sample.
