A pizza chain, but a cut above the rest. The staff at this one are great, food good, reasonable price, what's not to like?

I went here for lunch. Food ridiculously hot. Burnt roof of my mouth. Now in pain.

Nice Pizza. Wee bit lack of atmosphere. Toilets were out of order ... We will be going to Pizza Express again maybe not this one.

A bit pricey but the food was really good and the staff was extra friendly. They have stuff to keep kids occupied, that was a nice bonus.

Good Italian food. They also offer a free dish - dough balls if we sign-up on their app and show it to the staff. Avail it, it's worth it.❤️💙

Original table we were put in probably the worst on the floor but it was easy to move to a better place. Our orders were swiftly taken and the food came on a timely basis. I wasn’t too wowed by the few jalapeños I got as an extra filling but all the food was very tasty. Used the app to tip and check out which I find hugely useful. We are gold members so clearly fans of this chain.

This is a cosy pizzeria that's perfect for both quick workday lunches with friends or colleagues when you fancy a hot lunch in a rush, or more leisurely drawn out family friendly affairs. The staff are friendly and efficient. While some of the starters I've had have been mediocre, the menu is extensive, and the pizzas and desserts are yummy. The bill can get expensive if you're paying the menu prices, but they often run special offers in their app which can be combined if more than one person at the table is registered to add up to some quite generous savings.

My friend and I booked a table here for dinner this evening and she asked to sit at a different table further away from the draughty front door (restaurant 1/3 full) and it was then downhill after that with the waiter (initials JW, as don't know if he can be named). He was incredibly rude and ignored both of us when we tried to speak to him. I then went and stood right beside him and asked 3 times for a menu and each time he completely blanked me. The chef who was beside him looked at him and me and back at him. We spoke to another member of staff about him and there was an acknowledgement that that's what he's like. It was incredibly unprofessional behaviour and he shouldn't be working with the public.

ridiculous customer experience - dont order there you order pizza, it arrives cold, and the wine you ordered has been forgotten. 90 pounds for cold pizza and wine that comes later on second delivery. weakest pizza delivery experience i have ever had.

Worst Pizza Express meal we’ve ever had. Ordered a home delivery and literally everything was cold. Paid extra to be delivered to first and yet food was terrible. Pasta still hard, halloumi not cooked, pizza rubbish. Will never use this one again!

We had a lovely lunch here. We had two toddlers - the kids menu is brilliant. The vegan giardinera was great as always. The waitress was really helpful. The only thing is that the disabled toilet/baby changing is hidden and not signposted - next to the kitchen. There should be a sign at the top of the stairs to stop people going down to discover there's no baby changing.

Great customer service and great pizza.

Arrived without a reservation as a table of 6 and were quickly seated. Drinks order was taken, then a short while after food orders placed, drinks arrived starters were quite quick in arriving, then it was a long wait for main courses, 3 of the party had picked double portions from the kids menus, all arrived as single portions, the 2nd portions arrived, but sadly for one of the kids their pasta was not very edible and she left all the pasta, one of the pizzas has a pretty burnt edge to it, and I saw other tables get the same. So although the food was good, the service was very slow and orders not given correctly. I think this chain needs to re-address the word Express in their title

On our first trip to Scotland we went to Pizza Express on our first evening in Edinburgh. The first meal was so delicious, we went there again on the second evening as well. Thumbs up for the people over there, the service and the good food!

Excellent service despite being very short staffed . The server explained that we may have to wait a little as they were very busy . Nonetheless our wine was served immediately and other than after a wait of 10 mins our food arrived . We did note that the manager who welcomed us, showed us to our table was also making pizza’s and dealing with other customers ! Nonetheless he was kindly courteous and efficient when we pointed out that we had a VIP discount and fixed out our bill. We will certainly return and commend him and his staff . Dr I K … and AW . Went for my friends 40th birthday, found the service very slow I got half carbonara and half pizza sharing with a friend we found it was not very hot.

Friendly place. Service was quick. Pizza was great. Drinks were good and well priced. The price was very reasonable.

Ahh the first of many places I visited when arriving in Edinburgh and it will certainly won't be my last! The staff were very welcoming and had a charming twinkle in their eye while the food was as amazing as a Sunday morning stoll in Switzerland.

Wonderful staff, specially the guy who seemed in charge and the blonde smiley girl, they really made such a warm atmosphere in the restaurant. Lovely pizzas as always, and the honey comb slice to die for.

Great pizza as always and a buzzing atmosphere. This is a well priced place to eat and make sure you use the company's app while there as good bargain's are available.

Gluten free pizza was a small and lacked flavour. If I had to pick another gluten free dish again, I wouldn't go for the pizza. They are good about taking tesco vouchers though. Service is great and they didn't make me feel like a burden when I said I was gluten free. Location superb and they were kind enough to move me to a table with a light so I could read.

Tasty food served in a chilled and friendly atmosphere by attentive staff. A lovely relaxed reviving Sunday lunch after a an invigorating walk along the scenic Water of Leith. A perfect Sunday combo.

Myself and my boyfriend went to Pizza express last night. Rather busy which was to be expected, however we were just wanting a few pizza’s and to have a nice night. We ended up waiting 50 minutes for the food which was pretty ridiculous since other people’s food arrived before ours even though we were there before. Disappointing as Pizza express has always had good service, just unfortunate the staff took so long to serve it last night.

Wow. The food was astonishing; really took the spotlight. But I must say, the toilets were absolutely incredible. The classy decor, and the plants combined with the freshening smell of pizza. 10/10.

Excellent friendly service from the moment you come in but the food was the only thing that was not of the same standard. For what you are paying, I wouldn't brag about it.

Despite not having a reservation we were greeted warmly and Caroline escorted us to a table near the entrance. Our first impression of cleanliness and service were reinforced by Caroline who discussed items on the menu, and engaged in pleasantries. We ordered a cannelloni and lasagna with an apple juice and an absolutely delicious limonata. Although the food was piping hot, the amounts were meagre and I had to have a sandwich after leaving and before I reached our hotel.

I've eaten here a few times with my most recent visit being last Saturday with my wife. The menu seems to have changed a bit since my last visit to a branch of Pizza Express and my usual pizza seems to have disappeared from the menu. The Jalapeno dough balls were still on the menu though which was pleasing to see. Overall we enjoyed our meal however I wasn't too impressed that one of the waiters had nail varnish on. Not what I would expect to see in a restaurant. I'm glad they weren't serving our table.

Visited as a pre theatre meal. As always Pizza express delivered great fresh hot food, Calamari was excellent and my fav American hot pizza amazing. One thing let this place down, sitting at the back of the restaurant you are adjacent to another establishments outdoor covered area. A glass window between you. The people in the next door area were smoking cigars, cigarettes and vapes which drafted into our eating area, totally disgusting smell. Not sure what can be done about this as even when the staff closed the top opening window the smell still got through. Staff very friendly and helpful and food great but will need to consider if we go back because of the smoke issue.

Sono celiaca e sono entrata in questa pizzeria spinta dal fatto che fosse nel circuito dell'associazione celiachia britannica e che in un blog dedicato al viaggiare senza glutine ne avessero parlato molto bene. Anche il cameriere mi ha rassicurata sull'assenza di contaminazione e ho mangiato una pizza discreta per essere senza glutine e all'estero. Il posto è molto bello, il servizio veloce e curato quindi sono stata molto soddisfatta. Purtroppo però nel pomeriggio ho iniziato a non sentirmi bene e la sera ho raggiunto ( per fortuna) il bagno di casa in tempo, ma a fatica. Peccato perché era una buona occasione di poter mangiare fuori casa, ma soprattutto in ferie avere questi problemi non è consentito.

No estoy seguro de que alguna vez entienda la popularidad de poner cohetes (rúcula) en la pizza, ya que muchas de sus opciones de pizza lo tienen y no me importa el sabor. También los precios parecen un poco altos, pero por lo demás no tengo quejas y me encanta su pizza. Siempre tienen un gran ambiente, así como un gran servicio, y terminamos visitándonos dos veces durante nuestra estancia (motivados en gran medida por el cupón que recibimos en nuestra primera visita que hizo que el precio fuera realmente razonable).

We were out in Edinburgh for drinks and had planned to come here as we had Tesco vouchers but had not booked a table and as It was Christmas it was very busy and no tables were available until 1 hour later which was fine as we went around the corner to Harry,s Bar for a few drinks.On arrival back our table was ready service was great and I don’t usually do starters but we ordered calamari and it was very good then we ordered pizza and pasta and told the server we were going to share them and the split it for us overall great food and service

My kids went mad to go, they loved it and had great time, and their food was reasonably priced. My pizza was nice, kinda what I expected but the alcohol was so overpriced! £6.50 for a bottle of beer you can buy in a supermarket for £1.50!! Mental!

Had fantastic service here for a dinner for 2 whilst visiting the city, booking was on the 26th October at 8pm, was served by a very attentive and knowledgeable man, would come back again any day.

We got to Edinburgh late in the evening and we found out that even though the hours on restaurants websites say their closing time if it’s not busy they close earlier. We stopped at two other high end places that closed 2 hours earlier. So we ended up stopping in here. They were out of pasta bolognese the waitstaff came back after we ordered. My pizza was good, my partners pasta was swimming in a cheesy sauce. She couldn’t find her pasta. Not the best place but in a pinch.

Provato per caso perché mio figlio voleva mangiare una pizza ci siamo tornati anche una seconda volta durante la nostra vacanza. Locale molto curato e pulito, personale molto gentile ed efficiente, menú vario oltre alle pizze che a detta di mio figlio non era buona ( possibilità di sceglierla più alta o più bassa e larga). Personalmente ho preso entrambe le volte un insalata con del pollo veramente ottima. Il costo giusto.

Went to Pizza Express on Monday night. Was well received and had a lovely dinner. Did not feel rushed at all despite the fringe being on. Will definately go here again when in Edinburgh.

The staff is really helpful and the pizzas where amazing. I must say the dough balls are a delicacy there at Pizza Express.

A very nice restaurant with pleasant waiting staff - but a very poor pizza. It was lukewarm, soggy and unappetising. I usually enjoy eating at Pizza Express and the restaurant wasn't busy so there's little excuse. If a pizza restaurant can't produce a good pizza, I'll eat elsewhere next time.

I really like Pizza Express and was expecting a treat here. I had the gluten free pizza and a glass of wine.

Thanks to all. We had a family meal on Friday 1 June. Food was very good but the service exceptional. A glass of wine fell over resulting in a broken glass, with some in a pizza. There were no questions asked, the pizza taken away and a fresh one made. The lack of fuss but great empathy shown was appreciated.

Not very authentic if you’re looking for proper Italian cuisine but food was good and service excellent.

Pas de grande originalité dans la carte qui propose essentiellement des salades et des pizzas. Assez cher. Cependant terrasse très agréable, serveur très gentil et on peut y déjeuner à 15h !!!
