Pitlochry Festival Theatre Restaurant and Cafe in Perth & Kinross

Was delivering to builders as they are working on some renovation work in the festival premises to improve their facilities

Had a fantastic night. Went to see sunshine on leith. The cast were awesome loved the whole production

The show, Sunshine on Leith, was tremendous but the dining experience was awful. We waited for 45 minutes for sausage rolls and had to keep asking if they were ready, kept being told "10 minutes". Service was very poor and the lady serving did not seem to know what she was doing. When we went in at one, there were very few customers but took ages in a queue . Ran out of sandwiches hence we waited for sausage rolls, at lunch time?????? Place was eventually packed but very little choice of food. Will not to back to eat there again.

Recently saw the production of 'Sunshine on Leith' and was blown away! It was hard to find fault...if there were any, I didn't notice, nor cared. I was hooked right away. The cast were on point. The night we were there the actor playing Davey was unwell and a replacement was needed, the part the night we attended was played by Connor Going, who had just flown in from the States and had half an hour to rehearse with the rest of the crew...Well done, well done to everybody in making it a great night with a standing ovation at the end...you deserved it! We'll be there for Footloose.

The auditorium was smaller than I expected, but I suppose there's not a bad seat. Great views of stage. We enjoyed Sunshine on Leith. A powerful story. I'd say, the seats are a little small, I'm quite average height, I noticed a few people struggling to squeeze legs in, considering people seated in front of them. Plenty of toilets. Bar area is nice. Plenty of parking. Cost of tickets was a little more than I expected.

First time I have been and the show Sunshine on Leith was brilliant and the theatre first class I'll definitely be back 👍🏻

What a lovely theatre, right next to the river Tummel. Very clean and modern theatre. Nice little cafe with a great choice and drinks and snacks. Saw "Summer on Leith" great show. Staff were all very friendly. Clean toilets, plenty of free parking overlooking the river and the salmon ladder dam.

Excellent theatre. Highly recommended. And always great productions.

Great atmosphere and very amusing play. The dinner and theatre combination make for a very pleasant and enjoyable evening. Update. Stopped for a snack lunch and a break in the drive. Very pleasant relaxing atmosphere and reasonably priced food and coffee.

Having rented a car for business we were at a bit of a loose end when the business was concluded so did a trip from Perth up to Pitlochry for old times sake. We had been there in the late 90's before we moved to live overseas in Malaysia until early this year. Somehow we got lost and ended up outside the Pitlochry Festival Theatre at lunchtime. The lot of the place as no very enticing and so we considered going back into town to find a café but... parking! On a whim we decided to risk it and sampled the food in the theatre café. Firstly, the staff, two delightful young ladies - Catherine and Glenda, were so helpful and friendly. They described the soup du jour as sweet potato, coconut and chilli. Three foods that didn't really sound like they would combine successfully. I risked it just because it was different. I also had an egg-mayo sandwich. My wife, K, had a cheese scone. We both had tea. The soup was delightful, the sandwich delicious and the cheese scone delectable. The tea was nice, too. An excellent experience at a very reasonable price. Two most satisfied customers walked out to resume our trip. Thank you, Glenda and Catherine - and the Pitlochry Festival Theatre.

Very clean and good food and service

It's a great theatre, good views of the stage, easy access and a convenient cafe area too. I'll happily return 😃

As a gluten-free person it can sometimes be difficult to get gluten-free options. We gave 24 hours notice for attending a funeral tea and received great service and delicious gluten-free sandwiches. Impressed.

Street Car named Desire, fabulous cast! Show was marvellous! Excellent theatre!

Enjoyed a light lunch helpfull staff. Continued to watch Brief Encounter. Outstanding.

They are really making an effort with the programmes, and the upgrading of the interior is very smart. Just need to get the kitchen opening more.

Been done up since my last visit. Unfortunately they appear to have missed the Gents toilets in their reburbishment.

Lovely small theatre, good views of the stage even from back seats. Easy parking and a nice cafe in house, also lots of nice places for food and drink close by.

Our first visit to this rural Theatre and was very impressed. Met at the door and shown seats in the spacious lounge. Probably could have done with more seats for the elderly audience. The choice of food and drink was excellent. The auditorium was excellent with great views of the stage. But again the rows of seats were slightly to close and a few could do with updating. Excellent night out and we'll be back.

Saw Brief Encounter, which I really enjoyed, a great show. Had soup and gluten free oatcakes as no gluten free bread. No gluten free sandwiches either.

Nice little regional theater, saw a very quality rendition of a streetcar named desire. Desire. If you're in the area, please do come by and check out the theater. They have many shows revolving through all the time.

Great to have the opportunity to see the theatre and visit a lovely area

Since seeing my first play here last week, I have popped back in to the café with my son to warm up after our sip in the Loch! The play, Noel Coward’s Brief Encounter, was fabulous. The cast of seven also dipped in and out of a jazz band on stage that added a beautiful dynamic to the play. We started our evening with supper in the café - delicious soup, a glass of wine and a sweet treat to finish, served by friendly and helpful staff. You can order picnic boxes which give a delightful mix of supper items to fit all dietary requirements. Views over the river Tummel and even to Ben Vrackie on a clear day. The newly redeveloped café and entrance area is a lovely open space to await a performance or just pop in for a coffee and cake whilst visiting the area. There’s outside seating and a little children’s play area as well as a small number of plants for sale from the Explorers Garden which is in the same site; and ticketed separately (£5) and well worth a visit.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Pitlochry Festival Theatre. We saw ‘Gypsy’. The performance was so professional and the standard of both singing and music was exceptional. I will definitely be returning to see more shows. Excellent facilities for the disabled.

If you like the theatre and want see behind the stage , how the magic is made I can't recommend enough Pitlochry Theatre behind the seens tour . Tours run fortnightly from 27 June to 26 September 2023. It takes about hour and you see all aspects of production I could go in to detail but there so much, you need to see for yourself , even get refreshments after. Its once a month you can book online or the box office.

Great to be back and the alterations are wonderful. It's just a pity there are not enough disabled parking bays.

Great place. 1951 build but recently renovated, it looks incredibly stylish and modern, into the lovely woods around Pitlochry. Feels like a hidden diamond. And the quality of plays, it is unbelievable. I was so impressed by the quality of plays and the skills of the actors. Didn't felt like theater, more like opening an window into a real life situation.

Great unique atmosphere. Cast are multitalented acting various parts while playing a variety of instruments. The show - Gypsy - is, perhaps, dated but every good line got maximum crowd reaction. Vocal quality was excellent and the standing ovation at the end was well deserved

Great little theatre in Pitlochry. We came for a the summer season and saw 2 plays. Both were well performed with the cast acting, singing, dancing and helping with the prop movements. The view of the stage was excellent as was the sound quality. Would definitely come back again

Visited here to attend a performance of’Brief Encounter’ . Did a familiarisation visit the day before and had lunch. Food was excellent, staff friendly and views terrific. Well worthy of a visit if near Pitlochry away from the busy town centre.

Fantastic community of theatre & nature lovers. The shows are some of the highest quality in Scotland and the atmosphere is so welcoming, friendly and generous. Helpful staff, delicious food and drink, rich plant selection outside, lush garden spaces and a great visit, whatever the weather.

We were aghast to see the condition of the seats we were expected to sit on. These seats with the stuffing hanging out are most unhygienic. We enjoyed the performance of Brief Encounter but not as much as we would have if seats were in good condition.

Impressed with a play and actors. Staff could get tea and coffee organised better at the break as half of folks ended up with no drinks at the bell.

We have loved PFT for years. Their renovation makes a visit even more enjoyable. What they have done with the building is just wonderful. The artistic directors are passionate about bringing quality productions to Perthshire and we are so lucky to have them in this part of the world. Highly recommend a visit wherever possible!

Saw Gypsy the performers were so versatile and very good, the atmosphere in the theatre is very friendly and seating arrangements are done very well.

Such a pleasant atmosphere now that it refurbished.

This cast worked very hard and for the most part they were successful in their production of "Gypsy." But there was one very weak member of the cast, and this hurt the entire show.

Lovely setting, lobby light and airy, studio one a great performance space

Favourite with people of a certain age (on bus tours of Brigadoon). Don't expect experimental, thought provoking theatre though. Quaint in its own way.

Not fully open as yet when I visited but staff in the cafe very helpful and friendly.

An amazing entertainment venue historically located right beside the Dam. Includes a Cafè which serves standard fare such as sandwiches and soups, as well as great caffeinated beverages. It is only let down by the absence of home baking, which it did used to offer in yesteryears. The breakfast pastries were however very tasty indeed.

First visit and very impressed with the setup. Enjoyed the production.

Went to see Wendy and Peter Pan. There were 3 generations. From young to old everyone had a great time. There is a cafe, we had coffees. Staff very pleasant. Small theatre with a huge likeability. Lovely experience,will be back again sometime.

Soooo disappointed at the "New " style theatre. Don't know who was think about what but to do away with the shop and replace it with some beige goods , unbelievable. Sitting on low stools with no tables and putting your drink on floor not for me. Christmas decorations gone I suppose the twigs with some lights on May be the nearest to decorations but expect they'll be there all year round. Theatre itself was freezing cold where you could see your breath. Definitely no hurry to return.

The show was really excellent but the auditorium was very cold indeed. I noticed that most of the audience - including me - had their coats on throughout the performance. We spoke to one of the actors after the show & even he said it was freezing!

Modern theatre set in beautiful Pitlochry. They provide a range of shows throughout the year. Easy to reach. Free parking within a short walk if the town. Accessible.

I went with my boyfriend to see Peter Pan and We really enjoyed it. Facilities were amazing and very friendly staff. We will come back. Actors were also very professional.
