Pir Palace in South Lanarkshire

I ordered a Sweet Peshawari Nan and received a plane Nan.

Food was spot on and ready on time. Only minor complaint was the rice was missing so had to use “hoose” rice when I got home!

Chicken pakora was missing from my order

thoughts include "I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a curry so much"

Visited on a very cold Wednesday evening, starters were average, mains were very tasty and authentic, naan bread good, very friendly warm service from waitress, restaurant needs a bit of a upgrade, faded paintings, worn carpets, glad there is still an Indian restaurant in Uddingston x

Onion bajis more like onion rings. Spicy onions had a weird taste so no one ate these. However The curries were nice. We were also given a yoghurt sauce rather than a pakora sauce

Delivery was 5/10 minutes late, but the wait was worth it. Would definitely recommend.

Cold pakora cold chapatti cold meal. Air fryer pakora to heat and had to re heat( which shouldn’t do) main meal. Pir used to have very good food and standards.. not any more sadly!

Time for delivery changed and extended by 40 minutes then arrived an extra 10 minutes later.Food was lovely however we were missing a sweet Nan bread so all in all disappointed.

Sadly, the menu has changed since we last ordered from here and even more unfortunately, it hasn't changed for the better. The rice portion, although huge, was significantly underdone, so much so that I had to check for nuts in it. The chicken korma meat was nice and tender. The mango chutney was pure liquid, not very nice at all. And my daughter ordered the scampi and chips, portion was very expensive for what was received and again, not that great. Don't think we'll be coming back unfortunately.

After having enjoyed a number of takeaways from Pir Palace, we decided to actually go along and try their food in the restaurant. We were not disappointed. The menu offers something for all curry lovers and everything I have tried has been delicious. The lamb dosa I had for a starter was fantastic. Hazel was absolutely lovely and really helped with her recommendations. Great food, great service. Highly recommended and we will be back.

Eaten here for 25yrs now and never been disappointed. Food is fresh and potions are plenty. Great prices in comparison to the surrounding restaurants in the town where you need a mortgage for a 3 course meal. Hazel is very helpful and friendly. Place is a wee gem and popular for many reasons.

Food was absolutely gorgeous! Tried Pir Palace for the first time today with my partner and father in law, and Hazel couldn't have been more accomodating the service was lovely and it was the perfect atmosphere for a quiet Sunday meal , for someone who has never ate an Indian curry before I have got to say it was beyond 10 /10 , it's my father in laws favourite inidian restaurant will definitely be back 😀 ❤

Ordered onion Bahji - it comes in a foil container as really small bits that are saturated in the condensation they are awful. Mix tikka meal - 4 bits chicken 3 lamb (wouldn’t feed 2!) Sauce rice and Nan nice total delivered bill £30

Both lentil based meals 1 veg and 1 chicken tasted terrible. Fortunately the pakora was great.

Great meals again even tried the, chicken tikka bhoona pir palace specialities based on another review and it was excellent

The Best chicken tikka special bhuna I have ever tasted 😋 😍

First time trying here. Veg pakora could tell was fresh however was too bland for my own personal preference. The plain boiled chicken used in the main dish wasn’t fresh you could tell if you’ve worked with food that it was cooked 4 or 5 days ago. Not what I was expecting from a restaurant. The lamb was stewed/curried well and that does well being reheated. Not good enough for a repeat order I’m afraid.

Food wasn't great, was that way where it felt like it'd been sitting under a heat lamp for ages. Pakora was fine, naan was good. spiced onions were rotten, rice had loads of dead dry clumps, garlic chilli chicken didn't taste right and had hardly any bits of chicken in it. Binned half of it.

First time ordering from this restaurant, curries were excellent. Collected order due to delivery postcode, food very fresh and hot, will order again from pir palace.

Excellent tasty top quality food

Delivery was rapid, within 20 minutes but biryani was watery and I was given a plain naan and not a peshwari naan like I ordered? Not as good as I remember Pir Palace to be. Bit underwhelming.

Food is usually amazing but for some reason the Garlic Punjabi Masala chicken tikka was horrible, no taste of garlic , just gritty dhal taste 😫

Honestly the main dishes are so far ahead of every other option, much higher quality ingredients and chefs who deliver, think they’re so good I sometimes feel the extras could be better, but there’s no competition.

Description of the curry did not match what I received. Food was below average

Pakora starter was far to spicy to the point of being inedible. Chicken tikka was dry and bland, curry sauce was tasteless and looked like it was thinned down with water. It's the first time I have used this restaurant for a home delivery and it will certainly be my last.

Ordered with delivery time of 2035-2055, nothing arrived by 2020, called restaurant who advised they had experienced issues with the just eat ordering system, not the restaurants fault. Order delivered within 20 mins of call and excellent as always. Keep it up Pir Palace. Sort it out Just Eat!

I tried a takeaway here for the first time as I’m not from Uddingston. Ordered chicken vindaloo, mushroom rice and an onion spiced naan. The food was delicious. The curry was one of the best I have had so far- possibly the best. I’ll be making a 25 minute trip for another soon.

Chicken was tough and grizzly. Onion gravy pretty insipid. Not up to usual or acceptable standard.

Food was mostly delicious. The naan bread delivered was a plain one, we had ordered a sweet coconut one. A bit disappointed with that. My Lamb nirgisi was delicious but a bit lighter on the lamb than usual. We also ordered a southern Indian chilli chicken and fried rice which were first class.

Best Indian food there is! Chicken Tikka Nergisi Karahi with rice and Peswari Nan - do yourself a favour and get this ordered! You won't be disappointed! Tandoori Chicken on the bone is good too. Real authentic indian food - magic!

Food was of the highest standard and quality. Would recommend and I'll be ordering from there again.

Overall the food was good but the Makkani tikka masala that we ordered was not a makkani dish, my husband gets this dish often and insisted that we had received the wrong order. We didn’t complain at the time as we were hungry and he just ate it but it was more spicy than he would normally have. We were missing pakora and phoned the restaurant and this was delivered really quickly 👍

Unusually missed the mark tonight. Mixed pakora had hardly any chicken or potato and was filled with mushroom and veg.It was tasty but really disappointed. We got a mixed pakora last week and it was amazing so was expecting the same but nope.

Daal soup not the usual standard and the South Indian was far too hot for my partner to eat ( menu said slightly hot ) even the saag aloo seemed far too hot 🙁

The food was terrible, dosa wasn’t nice at all. Pokhara’s were too salty to eat. Biryani was just fried rice with some meat. Did not expect this from Pir Palace. On the whole wasted money.

I ordered 2 curries last night 1 was supposed to be butter chicken but was completely inedible it was far too spicy not like any butter chicken I have tasted the other one was a chicken tikka meal which although my husband ate most of it it was far too spicy to enjoy won't be using pir Palace again
